Bless Online entered open beta on Jan 27 in South Korea and it's now in the top of the most popular MMORPG in Korean internet cafes. The highest concurrent online players are about 90,000. If you are interested in Bless Online, the game is confirmed for a western release but yet we don't know who is going to the publisher and the possible release window.





Black Desert - Nicknames Reservation and the Date of the Second PTA in EU

On the official website of the company Daum Games Europe has been updated that at the 21:00 Moscow time, players will be able to take a nickname for the game on the OBT of the European version of The Black Desert . If you have not bought a pre-order, don't worry since the reservation will be available until February 26 (11:00 ) on a special page . Unfortunately, if you do not live in a European country, you can not see it. The second CBT will begin February 18 (11:00 Moscow time) and will last until February 22 (11:00 ). The test will be able to all the players who have bought or Conqueror's Explorer's package. Download the client will be available from February 16.



"The Black Desert offers endless adventure and lots of fun activities: trade, creation of objects, interior arrangement of houses, and the epic siege of war elephants, cannons and siege ladders that require coordinated teamwork."



Blade & Soul - Is Crafting/Gathering System "Bad"?

As you very well know crafting/gathering constitute a major part in any MMO and Blade&Soul isn’t an exception.

But how good is Blade&Soul’s crafting/gathering system?

It seems that according to forums discussions, the opinions on crafting are mostly mixed, with the majority of the players feeling pretty disappointed about how it works, but also not being  downright opposed the idea.



Personally, I have to agree with the majority here, while Blade&Soul does not require grinding to level up, the crafting/gathering system mechanics make up for it for the most part.
Being forced to buy only one item per order is a fatal blow to those who are multicrafting with multiple characters.

Another thing people seem to dislike are also the long respawn times of the resource nodes.

Here are some other opinions on crafting from other players :
  • For the most part I find the crafting and gathering disappointingly shallow. It's pretty skip-able, and unimpressive. Obviously not a focus or target audience for the game.
  • It seems designed to keep people logged in for as long as possible playing a Farmville-style system.  
  • I think the craft system is refreshingly non-grindy. It takes a real investment of playtime yo level crafting.
  • In my opinion, it is a pain in the rear. If you want materials you either have to buy it or pray that bots or other players didn't gather a node first.
  • Gathering materials is already a pain as it is and takes a lot of time if unlucky.

The extreme hype which has been piling up all those years of waiting combined with the massive popularity Blade & Soul gained the first days of its release in the West were enough to stir many people from the Oceanic of Blade & Soul to sign a petition for SEA-servers.

It is worth noting, that while the petition has been open for quite a few months, it didn’t receive as much attention those months as it received those past days since the official release!

NcSoft last March when they announced the official release of B&S in Europe and N.A. has aslo said in their official facebook page that if they see that there is a significant demand they will surely take the matter under consideration.



So, if you are a player from Oceania, sign the petition and spread the word, so more people will know about it.

How to Draft and Play Hunter in Arena

Even though Hunter is considered to be one of the worst classes in Arena he still can provide some decent results if drafted and played correctly. Due to the nature of Hunter’s hero power you will always have a win condition - face damage. Because Steady Shot is so aggressive often you will want to draft more aggressive and lower curve cards. Control Hunter decks rarely work in arena so most of the time you will aim to draft aggressive or midrange decks. Later I will tell how to know if your deck is becoming aggro or midrange during the draft.

Aggressive Hunter decks

Usually 2 most important things for a good aggressive deck are good low curve and reach to finish off your opponent. The good thing about Hunter is that you do not need much or even any reach because your hero power is reach damage itself. Despite that having some Kill Commands and Quick Shots always helps. Usually when playing more aggressive deck than your opponent's you will want to get in small amounts of face damage when with normal decks you would trade. For example you play against Warlock and you both have a 3/2 played. Normally you would trade in your 3/2 into theirs. However Warlocks don’t have a way to punish you for going face in that situation. By going face you got 3 damage essentially for free which is 1.5 cards in the late game. When playing an aggressive Hunter deck you will get some cheeky damage by going face and finishing your opponent in the late game with your hero power. Deciding when to go face and when to trade is the most important decision which will decide how many wins you will get.

Midrange Hunter

When you have a midrange deck with curve higher than an aggressive one you will want to play it out quite a lot more differently than an aggressive deck. Depending on how high your curve is you will want to do some trading in the early game. Going into the mid game if you have the board advantage and you see that your opponent is slowly regaining the board advantage one turn you will have to switch from trying to control the board to going full face wit your minions. At that point you start racing your opponent's health total. At that point you just play your turns trying to stall out the game and use hero power each turn to slowly roll enemy’s health total to 0.

Combos and Beasts

Hunter has a lot of cards that combo very well with each other. On top of that Hunter also has a high amount of beast synergy cards like Houndmaster or Tundra Rhino. The important thing with combo cards is that you should only pick a combo card if you already have the other piece in deck. For example if you see a Scavenging Hyena don’t pick it hoping to get Unleash the Hounds because most of the time you won’t be offered UTH. On the other hand if you have say 3 UTH already drafted and you get offered a Hyena might as well pick it. With beasts it is different kind of deal. If the card which has beast synergy is very good like a Houndmaster then you can pick it without having many beasts in deck because the chances of picking up cards with beast tag are good.

Best cards to draft in a Hunter deck

Savannah Highmane: best 6 drop in the game because it gives a 6/5 which is already decent for a 6 drop and the deathrattle gives 2 more 2/2 Hyenas which are also beasts. Highmane’s power shines in it’s stickiness. There are no cards that deal with him efficiently. On top of that you get a beast to stick on the board for your Houndmasters and Ram Wranglers. Overall amazingly statted 6 drop that wins you games.

Powershot: Very good AoE removal. Id your opponent has only 3 minions on the board Powershot becomes a better Conservation which is already a top tier card. In arena players rarely consider minion positioning which makes the card even better. Overall Powershot is an incredible AoE option for Hunter.

Freezing Trap: Arguably the best Hunter’s trap currently. The tempo it gives is very good. If your opponent plays a big minion like Boulderfist Ogre and it gets removed from the board with the freezing trap then you have extra 6 mana to spend for developing the board. That gives you board advantage and your opponent probably won’t play a Boulderfist Ogre for 8 mana so you kind of also killed the Ogre for 2 mana and a card.

Unleash the Hounds: One of Hunter’s best catch up mechanisms which can really turn the tide of the game. On top of that UTH is amazing reach card. Because when you need to finish your opponent off as he slowly regains board control advantage. You can get up to 7 damage for 3 mana which is huge. Also UTH combos well with a lot of cards like Cult Master, Scavenging Hyena, Timberwolf. Overall very versatile and a good comeback mechanism.

Glaivezooka: First of all a 2/2 weapon for 2 mana is pretty good value (look at Stormforged Axe, Argent Lance). On top of that you get +1 attack which may seem not too valuable however early game it is very important. For example you coin out a 2/3 on turn 2, then your opponent responds with 2/3. You follow it up with a Glaivezooka and suddenly you kill his 2/3 while leaving 3/1 for yourself and a 2/2 weapon developed. Best early game Hunter weapon.

Portal Knight Joining Steam In Early Access On February 25th

If you've been craving for a new title that focuses on exploration, farming, crafting, and base building, then this upcoming title might be worth a look Portal Knights will join the of Steam Early Access multiplayer Sandbox games on February 25th. 

Portal Knights can be played in a singleplayer mode, or the multiplayers one you will be able to roam across a randomly generated world, buy a base, or dive into dungeons and fight bosses using "tactical action combat."

Currently, the customization aspect is far from being deep with only four classes to choose from, including the warrior, the mage, and the ranger. It, however, remains an interesting that fans of the genre should watch out for.
 
 
 

Indie Sandbox MMO Wild Terra Online Shows You a Fully Player-driven World

The dev team behind Wild Terra Online recently released an official trailer for this indie sandbox MMO where it presents you a completely player-driven medieval world. Players have to try to survive in the wild nature by crafting, building, gathering, farming etc.



This game will be a good choice for players who does not like grinding. There are no NPCs in the game, so the only way to get something is to create it by yourself or buy it from other players... or take it with brutal force. There will be levels in Wild Terra however, but they will only grant you small additional benefits in combat, not total domination.

Machine Zone Spent $5M for the 30s Commercial on Mobile Strike at Super Bowl

Machine Zone, well-known for their top grossing title, Game of War - Fire Age, once again spent heavy money in advertising its military strategy game for iOS and Android - Mobile Strike at Super Bowl. This time, they brought back actor Arnold Schwarzenegger in the promotional trailer, featuring Schwarzenegger battling it out in the game while in an elevator with other Mobile Strike players.



According to VentureBeat's report, it's very expensive for mobile game publisher to pull in new users with an average at $4.23 per user. That's why Machine Zone is willing to continue the $5M ads campaign at Super Bowl this year, after they invested $4.5M last year for the promotion of Game of War - Fire Age, which features bathing-suit model Kate Upton.

MOBA Style Tower Defense Game Breach: Arena TD Starts Beta Test

Last year, Puerto Rico-based developer Space Rhino Games released Breach TD which is based on Starcraft 2 mod Squad TD. The map's creator Tsjnsn is now working on a sequel named Breach: Arena TD, and this game has just launched a Closed Beta test for iOS recently. Unlike traditional tower defense games, Breach: Arena TD adds more popular game elements such as MOBA, strategy and RTS.

Perfect World Reveals Future Plan for New Mobile RPG Final Fantasy Type-0 Online

At TGS 2015, Perfect World teamed up with Square Enix to announce a new mobile RPG named Final Fantasy Type-0 Online, and it was scheduled to launch on Windows PC, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone spring or summer 2016 in Japan. Now it looks like Chinese players will be available to put their hands on this game after Lunar New Year.



According to 17173.com, action RPG Final Fantasy Type-0 Online will have detailed voice system and Square Enix also made exclusive CG for this title. You can check out some screenshots below. This game is now under development and Perfect World confirmed that important news will come out during first quart of 2016. Please stay tuned.

Skyforge's latest addition the Knight, fulfilling the role of Aelion's unwavering defender! With the use of heavy armor and defensive skills, the Knight protects his allies, while putting up the pressure on his foes.

Following the long tradition of knights throughout history, the Knight’s weapons are the noble spear and a thick sturdy round shield. The Knight also possesses a pet, his trusted falcon companion to aid him in combat. A Knight’s gameplay is based on his Willpower which he uses to perform various attack and cast spells.



As a tank, the Knight possess a variety of defensive abilities that help him to stay alive even in the toughest battles. His most noteworthy skill perhaps is the Barrier, which provides a damage reduction as long as it stays active, upgrading it to the second level allows also for the ability to reflect a portion of the damage back to its original attacker.



The Knight is a class suitable for those who like to stay in the heat of battle and never die. Knights are a force of nature in both PVE and PVP. In PVE they are able to tank mobs and draw aggro so their teammates can finish them off. And in PVP any team that faces a skilled Knight may find themselves completely outmatched if they make the mistake to face him directly.

This article is purely satirical and it is based on a joke that has been going around in forums and ingame discussions.



As you may know, during some quests, you are given a rifle and you are tasked with shooting down mobs. The joke lies on the rifle raw power which is ridiculously high compared to the actual classes’ skills and abilities.

Many players are weirded out by the fact that Ncsoft chose to make those weapons so damn powerful. That rifle is so freaking powerful that can one-shot most regular mobs in the game and probably take down some field bosses with a few more.


Some of the users' comments about the “new” class:
  • That is pretty OP, in Poh you just need 2 shots per pirate. Hell the captains and lieutenants (mini bosses) only need 5 shots to get them down to 1/10th of their HP!   Nerf plz
  • every time i use my gunner class, at meadows faction area, i can kill legendary users with 100k hp in just 2-3 shots without them getting near me. see how OP that gunner class?
  • Gunners can also use tranquilizers to daze opponents, it’s confirmed. I once used these to get the whiskers of a tiger without killing it first

Chronicles of Elyria Shares Its First Creature Concept

Chronicles of Elyria is one of the conceptual MMORPG’s that has been garnering a lot of attention lately. Promising a complete Sandbox experience with characters that can age, die, and reincarnate, the game is highly expected by fans of the genre.



While there is not much information available regarding the game’s release currently, the developers have shared their first creature concept. A mix between what we believe to be a wolf and a rabbit, the “Canis Rabbit” is undoubtedly not as fluffy as we could have imagined.
 
 
 

H1Z1's Lead Designer Details The Split Into Two Games

Fans of H1Z1 and those following the progression alike were without a doubt caught off guard by the recent announcement that the game would be split into two different titles. The developers held an interview to answer a few questions and make this update less confusing.
 

Terrence Yee Lead Designer of H1Z1 started by saying that this decision was taken due to the fact that two different communities build among the player base of the game. He also added that the game would not suffer from this split, as additional members would be hired. With two different games, the situation is more appropriate for both players and the development team to focus on the features of interest.

Just Survive development will be focused on creating an open-world survival game, which includes scavenging, crafting and base building. Early Access means we get to develop the game with community guidance, and we really want to work with them to deliver the features and experience they want to have.

King of the Kill is a highly competitive game that’s all about the spectacle – not only is it fun to play, it’s fun to watch. Beyond Daybreak-ran tournaments like the Invitational we did at TwitchCon last year, we want to empower our players to create their own competitive experiences through features like player-hosted games and structured organized play.

Chad Moore Outlines Future Plan of WildStar

Last year is a busy one for Carbine studio and its sci-fi MMORPG WildStar. They have not only released three major content updates: Mystery of the Genesis Prime, the Protogames Initiative, and INVASION: Nexus, but also transitioned to a free-to-play game in September. At the same time, there is also some negative information. Several ex WildStar developers came to Reddit and Neogaf, voicing out their complainments and terrible experiences when they were working at Carbine.



Today Chad “Pappy” Moore, the current game director of WildStar, has recently revealed the future plan for this game, including a lot of new content, new areas of Nexus and more. Besides, players can also look forward to new quests, new rewards, story-based content with fully voiced NPCs and brand new cinematics. And what does the future look like? Two words: more content! As you’re hopefully already aware, we just announced our next update—Destination Arcterra—and it’s chock full of awesome stuff. Most importantly, this update includes Arcterra itself, a brand new max-level zone that features unique design mechanics, great rewards, eye-popping art, and an epic storyline. In my opinion, this is the best zone that we have ever developed, and I can’t wait for all of you to be able to check it out. Even more exciting (especially for me), this update will also include the second chapter in the Nexus Saga—Vault of the Archon. Like the first chapter (Journey into OMNICore-1) this exciting adventure features different gameplay mechanics, cool boss encounters, fully voiced NPCs, and jaw-dropping cinematics. And my favorite part is that this will be the first story-based instance that’s multiplayer. Similar to Expeditions, you can either choose to play it solo, or grab up to five people and experience this new content together. All of this content will soon be released on the PTR, and will launch as soon as we’re happy with it.  In addition, we’ll also be hosting a number of in-game events throughout the Destination Arcterra timeframe focused on enhancing (and rewarding) participation in this brand new content, while at the same offering cool new store items, and expanding our current catalog to have both character- and account-bound choices.

Supercell's Card-Battling Game Clash Royale Will Launch Globally in March

Supercell's card-battling game Clash Royale has already soft-launched in a number of territories such as New Zealand, Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong. Today the developer announces that it  will launch its fourth game globally for both iOS and Android in March.




Clash Royale is a real-time player-versus-player game which stars characters from the Clash of Clans universe. Players can collect and upgrade dozens of cards, then use these to build a deck and wage war, battling to knock the enemy leaders from their towers. Supercell's another mobile title Clash of Clans is now dominating the market by making $1.7 billion last year. If Clash Royale can gain huge following after launch, Supercell can conquer an even bigger slice of this $30 billion industry. You can check out the official launch trailer below.
