Black Desert Online is a one of visually stunning MMORPGs and will likely test many computers when it comes to maximizing frame rates. Pearl Abyss also used several graphical techniques to make the filters and blur effects look good. With Black Desert Online's NA/EU version launching very soon, Daum announced on the BDO Korean website that they will start banning certain foreign IP addresses from March 3rd. The IP block is coming expectedly as Daum claims to "provide seamless gaming experience for the global users of Black Desert".

Tom Clancy's The Division just became the biggest beta ever for a new IP, with 6.4 million players played last weekend's open beta on three major platforms: PC, Xbox One, and PS4. This was the last chance players can try the game for free ahead of launch on March 8.


 
"On average, players spent 4 hours and 52 minutes as an activated sleeper agent," according to Ubisoft. "More than one third of that time was spent in The Division’s unique and challenging player-versus-player (PVP) environment, the Dark Zone, with more than 2.5 million players going rogue." An interesting number was that 63,309,800 contaminated items were successfully extracted out of the Dark Zone by players.

The Warlock class will become available in Blade & Soul on March 2 with the Unchained update. The Warlock class is a a flashy and bold ranged class who summons the spirits through charms and talismans.

The Warlock is Blade & Soul’s second dedicated ranged class with great power but considerable fragility. Many of their powerful abilities have significant casting times and long cooldowns, requiring one of two strategies to be employed: keep enemies at bay or incapacitated long enough to be able to cast the high damage abilities again, or reduce cooldown times through expert timing of other abilities.
The most iconic aspect of a Warlock is their ability to summon a Thrall as an ally on the field. This Thrall lasts for only a short period of time, but can be useful in engaging an opponent while the Warlock is busy setting up the scene for their next big performance.

The closed beta test for the Japanese version of the MMORPG Phantasy the Star Online 2 will begin On February 25 . And so on PST 2016 event SEGA company demonstrated a new trailer for the CGI-dedicated to this game. Today you will see how the brave soldiers fighting in furs with the technique times second world war. The release of the PS4-version of the game in Japan is scheduled for April 20. so far, so it is not clear whether we ever western version of PSO 2 see or not. Exciting news for Sword Art Online fans! Technology giant IBM Japan is developing a virtual reality MMORPG titled Sword Art Online: The Beginning, a project based on the hit anime series. An Alpha test will be held from March 18th to March 20th in a secret location in Tokyo but don't get overexcited because only 208 testers will be selected. Beta sign up is available on the offcial teaser website.



Not much info has been revealed so far except that IBM will use a cognitive system, known as IBM Watson, which "uses natural language processing and machine learning to reveal insights from large amounts of unstructured data." The game will also use cloud computing technology - SoftLayer (it aims to explore the idea of cognitive computing for gaming in the future).

If you are not familiar with Traverse, you can read the previous introduction here first. The game allows every player to allow at least one planet. When you create your planet, you can customize your planet's lighting and weather, if you don't bother doing that, you can use "random" button. Isn't that similar to character creation in other MMORPGs?
 
Will different lighting and weathers affect gameplay? The developer doesn't say about it. We hope it does. Now check out some comparison screenshots of different lighting effects in the same location.

I am not sure how many of you have been there in the 2nd closed beta test of Black Desert Online but I am sure you've already known or in the rage of the expensive cash shop items (we posted a poll where 82% players think it is overpriced, especially for a buy-to-play game). But this is CBT2 so the prices might not be finalized. Daum Games may change the prices according to the community feedbacks, who knows? Anyway, below we got to see the various items that you'll be able to buy in the cash shop, from cosmetic armors, mounts to pets and then tons of sexy lingeries (thanks Dualshockers.com).

Besides real money you can use to purchase stuff in the cash shop, there's a “Loyalties” store where you can buy items by using points you earn by playing the game. For cosmetic armors, you can buy the whole set or you can just buy a certain singel piece you like.

However, cash shop won't be available at launch (March 3rd). In this CBT2, players were given 50 virtual dollars to spend in the cash shop and you can read more about what our writer Kitsu289 bought with the money and his experience with the controversial cash shop.

Mystic Castle background story:

The world suddenly fall into darkness. You are escaping from the bloodthirsty monsters in the wild. Eventually, you find an ancient alchemy array in an abandoned castle, and decide to use the power of ancient magic to survive in this world as well as looking for the truth of darkness. As a word adventure game, you can switch within three different interfaces. For the gameplay, you can receive gold by using alchemy and then, use the gold to recruit every kind of craftsman in order to expand all kinds of buildings in the Castle. After storing all kinds of resources in the castle, you are able to recruit an expedition to explore the dark and dangerous wilderness. The constructions in this games includes Huts, Farm, Market, Stable, Mill, Tavern, Training Camps and so on. After you arrange the craftsmen correctly, you will have enough breads for your expedition to start exploring. From now, the game will go into the second stage.


So far, there are 12 great mazes in Mystic Castle waiting for players to explore. In each map, there is a Portal and some adventure points. There might be a plot, some low-level enemies or even some resource for you in the adventure points. Also, you may have to face some strong and powerful monsters too. You need to collect as many resources as possible. After you have enough resources, you can train the adventurers to a Fighter, Archer, Clergy, Mage. The final closed beta for Black Desert Online was already behind us and what awaits ahead is the imminent official launch on March 3rd. There's more to come as Daum Games has several special launch events in the pipeline. These events will begin on launch day and will run until March 22.

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have just announced that their free-to-play action MMORPG Neverwinter will receive ninth module expansion titled Maze Engine on March 15th. However this launch is only available for PC, and Xbox One players have to wait a bit longer to put their hands on this new expansion.



Neverwinter: The Maze Engine brings new gameplay updates, including the return of four regular dungeons and one epic dungeon, all of which have been updated visually and content-wise. Castle Never has received a massive overhaul, now that it’s been taken over by Orcus. The expansion will also introduce a new campaign, a system that gives customization to mounts and how they’re kept, and an improved queue system.

Neuronhaze announced its Unreal Engine 4 powered sci-fi MMORPG Project Genom will launch early access on Steam in May. The dev has revealed a lengthy list on the features players can expect by the time the game launches early access, including updated animation, combat and world interaction systems, organism changes, skill leveling and crafting system.

• Character customization, which includes the change of gender, facial features, hairstyles, clothes and other aspects of appearance.
• Updated animation, combat and world interaction systems.
• Skill leveling system, which will include 12 paths divided into 6 skills with many nodes that can open new character abilities.
• Organism changes – the development of internal organs of a character becomes an important part of the game. In each of the 6 organism systems you can boost your organs with medicines, undergo mutations or replace them with synthetic analogues. Depending on your choice, your character may acquire new abilities and possibilities for development.
• Crafting system – you can extract resources and create weapons, armor, medicines, and other game items by learning different combinations of materials. Using one and the same blueprint, you may craft an item out of gold, wolfram, steel or titanium, with items having totally different properties.

An MMO player somehow gains access to a “DevBox,” a special set of tools that GMs and devs can use to manipulate the game world (such as spawn gold, move people around, etc.). Not only does the player start to go wild with this DevBox, but he or she makes copies of it and starts widely distributing these powers to other players, who also freely experiment with them.


That nightmare became reality this past week in Gameloft’s mobile title Order and Chaos Online. Through these duplicated DevBoxes, players have flooded the world with ill-gotten goods and have been screwing around with others’ game experience.

Gameloft performed an emergency hotfix yesterday to remove the DevBox exploit and vowed to investigatethe matter. Players have reported that some who have messed with these tools have been banned.

As Daum is preparing for the commercial launch of Black Desert Online in NA and EU, the team is taking some time answering questions from the community. Most questions are focusing on future plan and possibility of getting particular new content. The team doesn't have big plans for the game at this moment, though they do consider adding some.
 
For new classes, specifically male version of Ranger, Sorceress, Valkyrie, it's unlikely that the team will make them because "creating the same class, but a different gender, takes almost the same amount of resources as creating a completely new class." That's why you have Valkyrie and Warrior, two classes that share some similarities.
 
New race Shai is still in consideration, along with some others that "will be either from an existing in-game race, or something that we think might be fun for players". Which new race to develop first is to be decided, Daum says.

Days ago, we reported that there are two new Special Force mobile games currently in development by Korea-based Dragonfly. Appearently,  Dragonfly plans to exploit the Special Force IP into more platforms, including the newly-arising Virtual Reality area. Dragonfly said they are heading into Virtual Reality industry and a VR shooter based on Special Force is now in development. They aim to develop more immersed content for shooter fans, creating a more "real" game environment for players.


It's estimated that VR industry value will reach 67 billion USD in 2020 and Korean governament also plans to pay more attention to the VR industry, which is why Dragonfly and maybe more and more Korean game companies will start to set food in the VR area.
