The free-to-play fighting game Rising Thunder, an indevelopment title from Radiant Entertainment by ex-Capcom's Seth Killia and Evo founders (and Shoryuken owners) Tom and Tony Cannon, has been cancelled as League of Legends developer Riot Games has acquired Radiant.

Rising Thunder started alpha test back in August 2015 but now the servers are about to go down for good on March 18. "As for Rising Thunder, the team will start work on a new game that we're incredibly excited about. We wish we could say more now, but rest assured you'll hear more when the time is right," Radiant said in a message about the acquisition. "For now, we will be permanently closing Rising Thunder on March 18th. Thanks to everyone who participated in the Alpha!"

However, Stonehearth, another Radiant's crafting RTS/RPG hybrid, once raised over $750k on Kickstarter, will continue "full speed ahead".

Black Desert Online Berserker Beginner's Guide

$

0

Forget finesse and elegant skills, here is the Berserker. Packaged with 2 massive axes, the Berserker embodies straightforward brutality. If you are looking for the class with the largest concentrated violence, as you look ranged classes with contempt, and if for you hiding behind a piece of wood or a scrap of metal others call a shield is a waste of time, look no further, you are at a good place.

Basics

Mind you, we aren't talking about the button mashing type of brute force you might have encountered with similar classes in other MMOs. This class requires some thought and strategy, especially considering the fact that a lot of your opponents (looking at you glass canons) will attempt to flee once they realize what they are up against. And for that, the Berserker possesses a number of distance closing skills, running and charging at enemies, jumping and dealing blows, or even plain walking (and making the ground shake while they are at it), various methods to stick to your target.

From a concept approaching (roughly) from that of Tamer but without the pet, the Berserker's strength lies in easily chaining skills ad abilities that allow you to always move closer to your opponent, coupled with those involving some control of your target while inserting your most powerful ones.
Indeed, the Berserker has no creature, no magic, no ranged attack but instead has a decent range of skill types allowing for combos that include:

Movement + Blow

or even

Movement + Blow + Control + Devastating Blow

Note also that the Berserker is the specialist of grabs, which involves key controls in terms of group PvP.

Getting started

Instead of displaying yet another copy of the skill tree that anyone can find online and in the game, we will only list the main skills of the Berserker, how they are activated, along with some of the most useful effects.

Basic Skills (left-click)

Advanced Skills (right-click)

Grabs

If there is a class in Black Desert Online that is comfortable with grabs, it is without a doubt the Berserker.

Advanced Grab Skills

These towering giants can even move around while grabbing an enemy, and use them to strike others.

Enhancements to Prioritize
To make the most out of your Berserker, the enhancements to focus on are:

We've had fantastic reactions and can't wait for a wider audience to be able to play through it," said Vincent Bonefaas, Co-Founder of Jaywalkers Interactive. "Platforming fans looking for a breath of fresh air in the genre should definitely check it out, and we can't wait to hear their feedback."

Clash Royale: Top 10 Mistakes That Beginners Will Probably Make

$
0
0

Haven't started playing Clash Royale? You probably need to begin because it is one of the most popular mobile games recently. If you are a new player, then pay attention to the mistakes listed below. It will help you going through the newbie phase smoother and making less mistakes in the game means you can level up faster.

1. Never calculate elixir

Elixir advantage is an important concept when playing Clash Royale but most of the beginners didn't realize that. Because if you can always use low elixir cost card to deal with your opponent's relatively high elixir card, you've gained advantage and then by keep doing that, you'll win the game.

In all situations, when you are planning to play a card, you have to think if this card will give you elixir advantage. For example, your opponent is throwing a Goblin Barrel to your defense tower, it will cost him 4 elixir but if you play an Arrows in a right time with only 3 elixir, you can kill the Barrel but also you gain 1 elixir advantage. If you can keep countering with that, you will get more advantages and you'll win!

2. Being too aggresive

Yeah, full attack is more interesting than pure defending. But you'll often see a situation in the game: you try everything you got in hand, trying to take down one of your opponent's towers then your opponent uses most of his cards to counter you but he might just put a Rider Hog or Prince in another lane while you have nothing to defense. Guess the result? You didn't take down your opponent's tower but he takes yours down. Pretty frustrating huh?

3. Don't underestimate your opponent when you gain advantages

You will match an opponent who has almost same trophies with you due to the matching system Clash Royale employs. So when such two players start a game, the one who makes less mistakes will take the final win. However, many players would be complacent when they are in the green tree, rather than focus on avoiding mistakes. So never underestimate your opponent at anytime.

4. Don't be emotional

Most players would become mad when they counter a row of failures then they will become very emotional, which probably only leads to a result: you'll lose more. This situation happens in many esport games. If you think you are an emotional player, I'll suggest you take a break if you lose the matches 3 times in a row.

5. Change decks frequently

It's interesting to try out new decks, especially when you unlock new cards. However, don't change your whole deck only because you lose one or two games. Most of the time, you lose the match not because the deck is bad but because you are not familiar enough with the deck.

So my suggestion would be get familiar enough with one deck you like and minor adjust one or two cards to see how it goes. Besides, if you insist playing one deck for a while, you can just level up the troops in this deck rather than levelling up all.

6. Irresolute when placing troops

If there's only a barbarian left attacking your defense tower, do you need to play Archers to kill him? No, you don't have to because your tower can kill him easily and if you play Archers, you waste 3 elixirs and the two Archers won't cause any damage to your opponent even when they die.

Another mistake is being irresolute when you play cards. For example, your opponent throws a Goblin Barrel to you, but you play Arrows too late when his Gobins already did a lot of damage to your tower.

7. Use functional cards actively

Functional cards are those that your opponent won't gain elixir advantages over you easily. A good example is Baby Dragon because it can deal with most of your opponent's troops and it can hit your opponent's tower with not bad damages if your opponent doesn't have cards to counter.

Other functional cards also include those cards that can be used to counter your opponent's attack. It would be a huge mistake if you use such cards to attack your opponent actively rather than using them to defend. Good examples would be spell cards like Arrows and Frozen. Other examples would be Minion Horde and Skeleton Army because those cards can effectively counter some of your opponent's cards but if you expect them to attack directly, then you are wasting elixirs.

8. Don't have elixir lay up

It's very depressed if you use up all your elixir and you can only watch your opponent push down your tower. You must keep an eye on the elixir, making sure you always have some elixir left to counter your opponent's attack unless you know your opponent is also running out of elixir.

9. Only keep watching one lane

Make sure you paying attentions to both the two lanes. You may only keep watching one lane if there's a fierce fighting going on in one lane. For example, you are pushing everything in, trying to take down one of your opponent's towers or you are defending hardly, you may probably ignore what's happening in the other lane and you may just lose the game because of that.

10. Not familiar with cards

Well, I guess that's the basic stuff right? If you want to win the game, you have to know what every card can do or not and their attributes. You have to check out every card in advance and learn some combos or cooperations between cards.

Video Game Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch Is Funding Campaign on Fig

Jump into the shoes of Lunch Box and Mr. Snoogans! The team at Interabang Entertainment is making a Jay and Silent Bob video game, called Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch! Longtime fans of Kevin Smith’s Askew-niverse, the Interabang team is creating a game that captures the satire and irreverence of the movies and brings back the tone of the gone-before-its-time Clerks cartoon series. To kick off the project, Interabang Entertainment and Fig Publishing are giving fans a chance to get involved through a rewards and investment crowdfunding campaign for Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch on the Fig platform (www.fig.co).

In Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch, players get into a tag team combo fight fest and wreak havoc on their foes with fists, feet, and the magic of self-esteem-destroying jibes while embarking on a mission to find their long-lost pot customers trapped in an Orwellian mega super shopping mall. The mall turns out to be a Utopian labyrinth with apartments, restaurants, hospitals and everything that a post-World War II nuclear bunker would contain—with a candy coating of fun.

Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch is a colorful side-scrolling 2.5D, over-the-top multiplayer tag-team brawler whose action escalates as the player travels deeper into the mall of purgatory. The team is creating the narrative through environment, design, combat and a new conversation combat system called the Convo Combo mode. This mechanic changes the dynamics of enemy showdowns through cutting insults combined with an intricate facial animation system that bonds dynamic fighting with timed phrase matching. This delivers a completely different kind of storytelling experience. Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch also includes co-op play, where players finish each other’s combos, and create havoc in the world’s largest mall.

"People have asked me for years why I never made a Jay and Silent Bob video game,” said Kevin Smith.  “Now I can tell them I was waiting for Justin Woodward from Interabang Entertainment and our own Elias to bring it together.  Couldn't be happier to hand our characters off to folks who know them as well as I do."

“Kevin Smith’s films have long inspired our team,” said Interabang founder Justin Woodward.  “During development for our first game, we’d take breaks to watch them back to back. The iconic characters, hilarious dialogue, and sheer surrealism of the Askew-niverse got us through rough patches during development and life's struggles. We kept coming back to thinking about how amazing it would be to see Jay and Silent Bob in a game like the ones we design, and we’re amazed that we have this opportunity now.”

“The first time I heard about Justin creating a game based on Jay and Silent Bob, I wanted it to be a Fig campaign. I mean, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes in a Castle Crasher style brawler, fighting with fists, feet and insults - what's not to like?!” said Justin Bailey, CEO, Fig. "This campaign will provide traditional rewards, and accept accredited investment as well as unaccredited reservations which will be collected once they are re-confirmed after the SEC filing process is complete.”

Beginning today at 9AM PT, anyone can help fund the project at Fig.co, the only video game-centric funding platform that offers investment and rewards-based crowdfunding. Fig.co provides game studios and their fans with a more balanced and sustainable approach to game development that helps unite fans, investors and developers.

The Fig campaign funding goal for Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch is $400K and the campaign is open to investment (through Game Shares to be offered by Fig Publishing) and rewards (being offered by Interabang). Rewards range from premium digital goodies and new action figures based on designs from the game, to signed custom Kevin Smith-style jerseys and a walk-on in Kevin Smith’s next movie!
