About Neverwinter: The Maze Engine

Neverwinter: The Maze Engine, the ninth expansion to the Dungeons & Dragons-based MMORPG Neverwinter, is coming to PC on March 15, 2016 and Xbox One at a later date.

In the last expansion, Neverwinter: Underdark, players joined forces with iconic Dungeons & Dragons heroes to defeat the two-headed Demogorgon. Following these events, The Maze Engine introduces two new powerful demon lords, the Horned King Baphomet and Orcus, the Prince of Undeath. Down in the depths of the Underdark, Baphomet and his demons guard the Maze Engine, a magical mechanical device that can warp the very fabric of reality. Meanwhile, Orcus has taken control of Castle Never and re-animated defeated enemies of the past. Adventurers must eliminate these new threats by teaming up with classic D&D characters, including Drizzt Do'Urden, Minsc, Bruenor Battlehammer, Regis and more.

Neverwinter: The Maze Engine brings new gameplay updates, including the return of four regular dungeons and one epic dungeon, all of which have been updated visually and content-wise. Castle Never has received a massive overhaul, now that it's been taken over by Orcus. The expansion will also introduce a new campaign, a system that gives customization to mounts and how they're kept, and an improved queue system.

Rogue-Like Action RPG Battlecursed Coming to PC in Q4 2016

$

0
Battlecursed, a rogue-like action RPG in which a single-player directs a four-hero party in real-time, first-person battles, will come to PC in Q4 2016. Swift thinking and calculated strategies are key as players manage their custom hero group's development as they venture deep into an ever-changing underground world.

GDC 2016 attendees will be the first to brave Battlecursed's procedurally-generated 3-D labyrinths when it makes its public debut in booth PL 500.

Instead of relying on one character with numerous abilities, Battlecursed emphasizes party tactics, such as combining specific characters’ weapons or spells with devastating results. For example, combine the Grave Knight’s Frost Spell with the ranger’s Multi-Shot to create triple Frost Arrow projectiles.

Initial hero classes include Huntress, Cleric, Grave Knight and Necromancer. The shrewd Huntress stealthily takes down opponents using her agility to dodge attacks and dexterity to strike with fatal precision. The Necromancer taps into undead sorcery, binding all manner of evil creatures to carry out the party’s bidding. The Grave Knight plows through enemies with his superior strength and surprises many with his deadly frost spells. The Cleric, empowered with divine magic, will serve as the primary healer and protector of the party.

Players navigate the twisting dungeons of the evil Arch-Lich, Lord Xelo Van. Along the way, they'll unravel the mystery of the undead sorcerer's secret power and collect Soul Shards to resurrect powerful, legendary heroes.

Codex Worlds is led by Dexter Chow, a former executive producer at Ubisoft, as well as other developers who worked on Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers; Torment: Tides of Numenera; and Dragon’s Lair.

“We love action RPGs, but we want to play in first person with a party and add a rogue style of gameplay. Battlecursed will give fans of dungeon crawlers, ARPGs and rogue-like games something to look forward to,” said Dexter Chow, creative director of Codex Worlds.

Codex Worlds is currently running a Steam Greenlight campaign for Battlecursed.

In January, Eurogamer reported that cross-platform title Elite: Dangerous was dropping its long-planned support for the Oculus Rift in favor of SteamVR. However it turns out that those initial headlines were wrong. Elite: Dangerous is still planned for the Oculus Rift

Frontier Developments founder and CEO David Braben has just made the formal announcement he’s been waiting to make. "We’re going to be on the Oculus store," he confirmed. "We’re supporting [the Oculus Rift runtime] one point naught and the consumer release at launch, which is March 28."

It also supports cross-platform multiplayer, which means you can explore the galaxy with players across Oculus, consoles, PC, and Mac. All current Elite Dangerous: Horizons owners can download the Oculus version for free! This special version includes the base game, along with the full season of Elite Dangerous: Horizons bonus content.

The hottest mobile game company Supercell released 2015 annual financial filings yesterday. With just 3 games- Clash of Clans, Boom Beach and Hay Day. Supercell earned 2.3 billion dollars last year.

COC, which released in 2012 is still in lion share of Supercell income. Although Supercell did not disclose the specific proportion, but the conclusion is obvious. COC still list 1, 2 in the mainstream iOS market list. Based on the analysis of mobile application agency App Annie's report, Supercell is the world's top mobile game developers in 2015.

For an 180 people enterprise, this is a pretty amazing accomplishment. Supercell repurchased shares from Softbank to reward employees with $1.28 billion total price.

Ilkka Paananen, Supercell’s CEO, said in a statement:

“These financial results are of course great and we are very proud of them. However, the real highlight for us is how we’ve been able to get here while staying true to our founding vision that was all about people.”

We believed that if we bring together the best people, create the best possible environment for them, then with enough time and some luck, some great games will follow. Games that millions of people around the world will want to play for years and years.

Nexon's Blocky Dungeon Crawler RPG 'Legacy Quest' Now Available on iOS

Nexon's Legacy Quest had been in soft-launch since last September, and has undergone numerous changes and tweaks since leading up to its worldwide release just last night. So what is Legacy Quest? The simple description is it's Diablo with a Minecraft-y voxel art style. You'll create a team of fighters and loot dungeons by hacking and slashing away at tons of enemies in a variety of shapes and sizes. This is an old trailer and I think the release version of Legacy Quest looks a lot better, but it gives you a brief idea of what you're in for gameplay-wise.

Download:

While the combat itself isn't terribly deep, the loot and upgrading system certainly seems to be. If finding/crafting/unlocking/upgrading/enhancing weapons/items/characters gets your blood pumping, you should have your hands full here. Legacy Quest is also a super attractive game despite its blocky nature, with impressive lighting and particle effects. It's free to play so there's all the expected stuff that comes with that, but so far it seems pretty run of the mill in that regard, meaning if you're used to grinding and in-game currencies and limited lives then you won't find any surprises here.

Legacy Quest is good enough, especially after waiting so long for the release.

In Korean server, a player found it was possible to sail a boat up to the hill. However, it's unknown how he managed to make such miracle.

EA Unveils Clash Royale Like 'Plants vs Zombies Heroes'

Electronic Arts is hopping on that road today with the limited launch of its free-to-play Plants vs Zombies Heroes collectible card game for mobile devices. The game takes many of the core principles of the Plants vs Zombies series, and a lot like Clash Royale did with Clash of Clans

EA plans to update the game frequently with new content. The story has Dr. Zomboss, the zombie scientist, experimenting with turning zombies into Super Heroes. The experiment goes wrong and he creates both zombie and plant Heroes.

You need sun energy to make moves on the plants side. When you play a card, an enemy can attack. You always get a chance to attack back. To win he game, you have to defeat the enemy Hero and defend your own. You can buff your units to make them stronger. Some units can only be played in water or roof lanes. Once you reach a certain level, you can start playing as zombies. Zombies have their own advantages, like hiding played characters under gravestones so you can’t see their capabilities.

A Hero can block damage coming in or launch a superpower that can swing the battle back in your favor. Crazy Dave, the maniac who sells you weird items in the series, makes an appearance and introduces you to the single-player campaign, which consists of various quests. You can play in a casual mode or go into ranked play in tournaments. There are 20 unique adventures and five battles in each adventure, making for 100 battles on each side.

This mobile game has some links to Garden Warfare 2. I played a round of the game with Lindley, and it was very intuitive, particularly if you’ve already played other PvZ games before.

Strategy

Remember the first thing is protect your own tower.

At starting phase, let the opponent to take the first move, or play goblins around king's tower.
If the opponent places buildings, deploy Mortar on the other lane and defend the mortar but don't put all you have to defend it — it's not the time for toe-to-toe yet. You can deploy the Mortar on the another lane next time. You just have to repeat this several times the opponent's tower should take some good damage already. If you manage to take out one tower, fully focus on defense until the time runs out.

When you attack, try to always keep at least 5 Elixir unused to prepare for opponent's sudden attack.

Counterplay

Hog: always save Tesla for Hog, if you don't have it at hand, use Goblin or minions instead.

Double Prince: place Tesla in the middle and draw them to there. Play Knight to fight Dark Prince and Goblin against Prince. Be aware of opponent's Arrows.

Tank (deploy at beside the tower) + ranged units: place Mortar on the other lane to draw some of the opponent's attention. Or just place Tesla to draw the tank and then play goblins to kill the ranged units. Only use Knight to fight Wizard.

Balloon: Minions are perfect to counter Balloon if the opponent doesn't have arrows. If they do, use Tesla to draw its attention and Spear Goblins to shoot it down.

Zerg: the moment the opponent plays a hut, put Mortar on the other lane to attack.

X-bow: if the opposite plays an Elixir Collector, deploy a Mortar to damage his tower. Goblins and Minion Horde are effective against X-Bow.

Black Desert Online: Daum Is Taking Action Against Gold Seller

$

A few hours ago, Black Desert Community Manager updated a Patch Note on official forum. The team will  fix bugs and make many refinements and improvements in the maintenance.

Black Desert

There is sinificant changes in this maintenance. In order to restrain the increased "goldseller" population, Daum Games takes measure to suppress the market. All players should spend 1 Energy for the first and 3 Energy for any consecutive message in channel chat. But, just a few second ago, Daum Games updated the patch note again. Channel Chat did not change and remains same as it was before. 1st message = 1 energy, consecutive messages within 10 seconds from previous one have increased energy. We have no idea whether Daum Games will take further action again in the future. However, it is evident that the "goldseller" population disordered the market and made Black Desert in hot water. What do you think about the ever-changing new rule?
