The Strong is the last one to leave the battlefield. -- King Arthur

They are legends in ancient times. They are epic roles who conquer the world in history. They are the kings and heroes who have created their own epic. Now, they gathered here, trying to be the King of Kings.

When the holy Dragons are gone and evil demons are sealed, the world dominated by the Humans is still in chaos because of wars for strength and power. Collisions between kings and heroes, duels between magic and strength started in King of Kings' world.

Now, while the Demons are awaking with the Dragons planning to regain the world, the order of space is twisted. Kings and heroes, like King Arthur, Cleopatra was waken to the world again. The chaotic world started to collapse.

Everyone wants to be the king of kings and dominate the world

Mobile Game Review: Forsaken World Mobile

$
0
0
Just releasing an expanion, Forsaken World is an Open World MMORPG that focuses on Team Questing, Guild PVP battles, and individual leveling. There isn't any real customization when it comes to combat, but it's a step in the right direction in Mobile MMO evolution.

Gameplay
You're thrown into an alternate universe where you have a choice between 5 classes. You are initially giving all of your powers, as you begin the tutorial which is actually fun to play. Completing the full Tutorial (two hours) will get you to lvl 28 which was smart on the developer's side. After six hours I was able to reach lvl 35, which is the minimum level to do anything fun. With my basic setup and low level, attempting to team quest or raid was hard since no one wanted to party up with a lvl 35 Kindred.

The main PVP arena is a ladder against an AI opponent. Once you leave safe zones, you're allowed to fight or PK even at low levels which is a cool feature but also stresses the importance of having a party. The main quest is interactive, quick and fun, and with auto-tracking and jump feature, you can really speed through these quests. The Auto-fighting mechanics are solid - Forsaken World did an amazing job letting you control every aspect of afk farming and auto questing. It was a slightly large download, but runs pretty well until you get a spawn camp.

Checking in on their Facebook, I noticed they had some server issues in the past, but the correction/response time was only about an hour - which is pretty impressive. On their website, all the social media links to Torchlight Mobile. I’m not sure the connection but if the developers are the same team, I could understand. The in-game interface is organized and intuitive. Finally, the developers listened and gave us dropdown menus instead of filling our screen with annoying buttons. Although there still is multiple ways to get to the same window, they did a great job keeping screen crowding to a minimum. (Your chat does need a little opacity work).

Creativity
You get your dragons, and pets, and even a magic carpet within the first 2 hours of playing. They continue with that theme the entire time so far, so I haven't been bored. My frustration comes a little with matchmaking, I only get matched with players 4 levels or more in PVP. Second, I would drop a little money on advertising to grow your community base. This game could be extremely fun, but on the servers I've logged and and the different times I didn't feel many were playing.

The graphics seems like the standard mobile  MMORPG engine. For an open world MMO in 2016 I'd expect something a little more clean, but if you're looking at it as a foundation to build from - it's a great seed. The monsters are definitely different, but won't stand out in my memory. The hero classes were a little upsetting, only giving you 4 set skills with only a little customization. I'm not sure why developers are taking these shortcuts in class development. This alone can make or break a game, and with only 6 classes and 4 spells each that you can't change - doesn't connect you enough with your hero or add enough variety in the game.

Value
Forsaken World is completely Free-To-Download. Free-To-Play died when Supercell introduced microwinning to mobile games. If you plan on tackling the ladder on a another MMO, I recommend bringing some friends with you. Most quests recommend a team, although the game does provide you with bots. Overall I plan on playing this game a few more days while the popularity of the expansion is out and the most people are playing. So if you're planning on checking this game out as well, I'd recommend downloading over the next week.

Getting new equipment through questing is the way to go. They didn't make it to hard, and at the same time it'll be an achievement. The store sadly does offer a pay-to-win option, which is why I can't put this game over an 8. Even at small monetary values, the payoff is greater than questing. The game has been out for too long to change that, so I'm interested in where Forsaken World goes from here. With the release of the expansion, we did get a bunch of new quests and gear. Looking at forums the community seems generally happy with the update, minus some login issues.

Tree of Savior’s Regional Sales Data Tells Most Purchases Are from NA and SA

IMCGame just revealed the ratio of Tree of Savior's Steam early access purchases in each region. The data shows over 56% of the sales are from North American and Latin American players. 16% are from South East Asian players, which surpirsed me a little bit. Only 12% are from Europe.

The developer said they will open new regional servers if the player number of that region is big enough.

We are aware that many players have been requesting regional servers. However, we have come to the conclusion that we cannot create and sustain regional servers based on the data up to this point. Please take a look at the raw purchase data provided by Steam below for your reference.

That being said, we will consider creating regional servers later down the line if we see enough support from those regions. Most importantly, we will be offering a 1-time Team transfer to regional servers if and when they are created. Only 1 Team transfer will be offered to each Steam account.

Currently the game has NA server only, and players who purchase the early access but live outside NA will need to play in NA server, or wait for their regional server which is an unknown thing.

Blizzard's Chinese partner Netease has just announced the prices for Overwatch's Chinese version. The Standard Edition is available for $30 and the Origin Edition for $50. It's $10 cheaper than the global version ($39.99 for Standard and $59.99 for the Origin Edition).

What's more, Overwatch's Chinese version will be released simultaneously with the global version on May 24, which is a rare thing to happen for Blizzard games (usually it will take a long time for the Chinese government to review the content of a foreign game). The preorder of CN version will start March 29.

Mobile Game Review - Winterstate "Vehicle Strategy Live-Action RPG"

$
0
0
“The strategic vehicle RPG, in a MMO apocalyptic world hell bent on destroying you. The first in it’s kind when it comes to “Mobile” Vehicle strategy.” Take command of a convoy of deadly fighting vehicles, as you hit the road with the legendary “Knuckle” Sam Winterstate and his band of Runners. While you assemble a powerful force, repel raiders and take the fight back to The Burners - a powerful and deadly threat, and your sworn enemy you must control resources to ensure the survival of mankind.

Gameplay
In this tactical vehicle strategy game, you are the commander of a fleet of armored combat vehicles. Hiring drivers based on individual bonuses, you equip them to vehicles that specialize in different combat tactics. The maps contain Yellow skill zones, that when fully charged and captured grants that vehicle a skill. Each skill zone takes about 10 seconds to refill, where you can capture other zones or wait until it refills. The battle ends when either you destroy the enemy HQ, or destroy all enemies on the map. Controlling each vehicle takes a click and a swipe. The vehicle will track also your drawn path, and attack everything in its path. If it acquired a skill point, you may use the skill on an enemy target as soon as it's in range.

If your vehicles are destroyed in combat, they will automatically start the repair process when combat ends. Each vehicle has a different repair time, based on it’s max hp. Your’e welcome to auto heal - but this is where diamonds come into play. As you progress through the solo campaign you begin to acquire more vehicles and drivers. Multi-tasking these vehicles in (live combat), is what makes Winterstate stand out.  Capturing skill point zones, while dodging and attacking enemy attacks keep the action at a maximum. You cannot brute force in Winterstate, each level requires some thought before beginning. Controlling your (maximum of 4) vehicles against online players, makes for an excellent PVP experience.

As most Mobile RPGs are setup, you are able to attack players near your level that pop up on your map. As you fight over resources and territory, each enemy you face has different vehicle comps and playstyles. The quantity of resources your accumulate added to your ability to trade, directly affects your income - which controls your vehicle upgrades. Any resources that you don’t have, can be replaced with Diamonds, but at a very expensive rate. The higher your main vehicle upgrades, the more power you’ll have in battle. Once you understand you best your vehicle comp works, you're ready to start being competitive.

Creativity
Great music, great graphics, ok sound effects. I’m not sure why Playraven decided to go with the cheap repetitive machine gun sound - but that’s the only sound that doesn’t fit and is mildly annoying. The characters you are introduced to are interesting, and believable. Although the lore is minimal and the character interaction is limited - the focus is clearly on your vehicles. That being said, I’m sad that you can do more with customization. I’d expect that with a shield or armor upgrade you’d see some aesthetic changes…. Nope.

The Map Layout, and game GUI is intuitive but nothing we haven’t seen. The art team seems like they were held in a box, or maybe they wanted to keep the game G rated. I say this because of how manly the game first looks, then as you play - It comes off really soft. Even the boss fights give you the same explosions you see on lvl 1, and not one drop of blood??? Fire your art director for that bad choice, you might as well add Mario or maybe Mickey Mouse as the heroes if you’re afraid of offending people. Leaving on a good note, at least the vehicle names are cool.

Value
That wait is real with WinterState. Your resources come in at an alarming slow rate. Thankfully, Winterstate gives you plenty of quests to start out with, but I can tell in the later levels people will have to fork out diamonds to keep getting enough quests and gasoline. Gasoline is your energy meter - You get 5 plays before you need a refill. You can’t directly purchase upgrades from the store, rather you’re forced to purchase Diamonds to trade for resources - This automatically places its value at fair. Since the value of diamonds is diminished since you can generate your own, the value get bumped up just a little bit more.

The drawback comes with the amount of time we have to wait for everything. I understand we have to pace the gamers to ensure a competitive environment, but come on. Half the fun is seeing how fast I can become a boss and start wrecking on nubs. But when you take that away, all you have is a standard mobile game :/. Playraven did an all-around great job on Winterstate and it will definitely have a future in mobile gaming. With the Action Strategy Vehicle genre growing slowly , I find Winterstate definitely being one of my favs. I’ll probably keep it around for another week or so, until the wait kills it for me.

The first ever open world MMORPG Wizard Online was announced in the beginning of this year but we don't know much info about this game unless it supports the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Leap Motion. As for the VR features, players can enter or leave combat mode based on hand gestures. Curious about the actual gameplay footage? The newly released 15 mins pre-alpha gameplay footage should give you some clues about how Wizard Online works in action.

Players can switch from first person view to third person view freely and it seems the game features a non-target combat. Though Wizard Online is developed for Virtual Reality devices, it can still be played in PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Mobile Game Review: Celtic Heroes "The Highest Quality MMORPG on Mobile"

$
0
0

Celtic Heroes
Originally launched in 2011, then ported to mobile devices in 2013 Celtic Heroes has had a lot of time to grow. Set in a Celtic universe you are given the most basic of abilities, tasked to save our world and become the Ultimate Hero.“Celtic Heroes is a high-quality MMORPG, ported on multiple platforms with an amazing storyline. If you haven't played this game yet, then you haven't played a Mobile MMORPG.”

Gameplay
Celtic Heroes does an amazing job with the intuitiveness of controlling your character on mobile devices. They combined your joystick and the mini-map opening up a lot of free space on your display. You can have a maximum of eight skills at a time listed on the right of the screen, when you want to change skill sets you have a plethora of skills choose from. Celtic Heroes gives you five classes, each having their separate sex. They give you the most physical customization options I've seen on a mobile RPG to date, down to skin color and height. “This definitely lets you connect to your character, and with the abundance of skill choices you can definitely adjust the play style to fit you perfectly.”

You do experience a little lag when you enter a PVP Zone, but that's expected when you have a lot of people in one location. Yes… Celtic Heroes does seem to have a pretty strong following, and in every server I traveled to. Not only that since it's a completely open world anyone can help or join you at any time. But sadly, there's only specific areas where you can PVP. This emphasizes the importance of Solo or team questing but still establishes a strong PVP and guild foundation. I do hope in the further expansions they create more PVP zones, but until then I don't see too much of an issue with the ones that have established now.

Let's talk about quests, because there is a lot (and I repeat - A Lot) of quests. Not only will you never run out of things to do, the side quests have so much personality and depth I found myself leaving the main quest after only 20 minutes. For a game to do that to me it's pretty impressive, since usually I first do a speed run then I go back and enjoy the game. Celtic Heroes has me enjoying the game in the first 15 minutes of play, good job One Thumb Mobile. Each NPC you come across has an in-depth storyline that if you take the time to read gives you great hints on your current Quests, and side missions for high level gear (which you'll need).

Creativity
The graphics in this game are truly amazing. One Thumb Mobile uses their own graphics engine, which definitely stands out from the other Mobile RPGs. They didn't take the easy route with blocky cartoon images or framerate drops they somehow packed all the graphics into this cross platform MMORPG, then successfully ported it to mobile. All MMORPGs need to take a lesson from One Thumb Mobile on how to successfully integrate and game into multiple platforms.

When you are in actual combat it seems at times,  a bit laggy. This is the only issue I have found with Celtic Heroes - and it's not a very big one. Sometimes in between using an ability and watching their hit points fall you might experience a little lag on the HP meter. This has caused some combos to fall short but It might be the fact that the enemy and other players have a lot of damage modifiers to account for (Dodge, Resistance, Miss chance...etc). The item menu or actually most of the menus could use a little reworking. I'm not saying that they look bad, but a little polishing couldn't hurt, because I feel like a lot of the items are using really low quality images.

Value
As you play the main quest I realized that they do bestow some good quality items on you. But with the large amount of side quests I'd recommend figuring out your own route in finding the best equipment for your character. When you approach the store you have the option to use your own gold that you earned in-game or you can purchase Platinum with real money. If you do end up dropping real money and purchasing the chests that they give you in-game you might not be able to use what's inside then. By the time you reach the level required to use these items, you should have acquired enough items along the way to make those chests seem worthless. But if you “did”, happen to speedrun through the main quest and didn't manage to acquire enough strength, feel free to support Celtic Heroes Development.

So what about PVP battles and using real money to win those? You can go ahead and waste your money because Celtic Heroes does not have a leaderboard - so if you do end up dumping cash you're only taking the fun out of your own game. Celtic Heroes is geared more towards team questing, so how much fun would it be if you could purchase all the items that the normal people acquired during the quest. This is another lesson Mobile RPGs need to learn from One Thumb Mobile - “Don't create a system where you can Pay-To-Win.”

Celtic Heroes is completely free to play and I'm happily recommending this game for everyone to download. If you're a fan of action hack and slash, button mashing RPGs that take little thought and have pay-to-win mechanics - this game isn't for you. If you like high-quality games that expanded over the years, have a strong community and an even brighter future - with no Pay-to-Win mechanic - then go ahead and download Celtic Heroes now. Although this game has been on the shelves for some time now, you should see it on the top of the app store. That probably mean One Thumb Mobile is dropping a little cash on advertising, which makes it the perfect time to start playing.

Mobile Game Review: War of Wonderland "You can't fool me Heroes of Avalon!"

$
0
0
War of Wonderland
Or is it Heroes of Avalon???

So why the name change?
Mobile games every now and then relaunch themselves with the hope of attaining a larger community. Other games - that have too many issues to patch, have to relaunch in hope to stay afloat. War of Wonderland is both.

With the first launch of Heroes of Avalon they encountered various people abusing Diamond purchases. With a quick Google search - many websites offered the free download of a diamond hack for this game. With the hacks release, the game only lasted a month before flipped belly side up. Developers had to close the servers and rush back to the drawing board to figure out how to best solve the issue. With their Community down the drain and the game's name tarnished, they had no other option but to Rebrand and Relaunch.

Here's where the developers made the biggest mistake. They could have taken this time to work on all the bugs, maybe released a game expansion, or even give player incentive to come back. Sadly, nothing was done and they are trying to trick gamers instead of fixing the community. This is the second worst thing you can do, aside from releasing a game early and having to wipe all players information. (Albion Online just did this and their community is furious.)

Forum: https://www.vstargame.com/en/forum/post?fid=47

Gameplay
Starting the game you have a choice between four different classes. Although the classes differ from the normal RPG meta you still won't find much variety in this game. What I find particularly hilarious in this game, how bad the English translations are. You can barely understand the storyline with all the grammatical errors this game contains. At least the combat system is pretty fluid, sadly they took the blocky cartoon approach that every mobile RPG game currently using.

As you continue through the story mode you gradually regain your abilities that you briefly got to demonstrate at the start of the game. As you hack and slash through each level your objective is not only to level, but also pick up precious materials to evolve your weapons. Although I guarantee they spent a lot of time working the character mechanics, they dropped the ball on every other aspect of his game. All the levels still pretty similar but I guess you can expect that with a cartoon RPG. These type of RPGs always end up putting me to sleep after only 30 minutes play time. That's what you get when you copy and paste same environment throughout the entire game.

Creativity
Win this game originally released it had some creative appeal but what's a relapse they chose to change absolutely nothing. Sure… they fixed the gem hack so no more players can abuse store purchases - but this game has already taken it's death blow. Searching their forms and their website you can tell they're scrambling to keep this game of float, but was 0 comments on their forum and almost no community - this game is destined for the trash bin.

Value
Free to download game, meaning if you happen across the store you're more than welcome purchase and nearly fully stacked character. That being said this game is 100% Pay-to-Win, and if you're looking for a competitive RPG you're not gonna find it here. There's only been a few games that disappointed me as much as this game that being said, I rate this game ia 5.8 out of 10 and warn everyone “not to download.”

Earlier this month, Google’s artificially intelligent software AlphaGo defeat professional go player Lee Sedol in a five-game match. However the contest between man and machine will never end, and this time AlphaGo is going to challenge on Blizzard’s RTS game Starcraft 2

During the WCS Shanghai, Tim Morten took an interview with the Chinese media, and he confirmed that AlphaGo will challenge the best Starcraft 2 player in the world. However, not much detail right now but Google is keeping the contact with Blizzard.

Facing the upcoming challenge, professional Starcraft players Flash and Yellow both claimed that they will help human to win this battle. "In the go, AI can see what is the opponent’s move and then think about counter strategies, but in Starcraft it’s hard to understand what your opponent is doing, you have to explore the map and use experience to judge” Flash said. Besides, Tim Morten also commented that human had a better change against AI because of the non-equivalent information between both sides. What do you think? Who will be the winner?
