Valkyrie Anatomia -The Origin Second Trailer Shows off the Combat System

Last time, we reported that the prequel to Square Enix's "Valkyrie Profile" series, Valkyrie Anatomia -The Originis coming in spring of 2016. Today the developer revealed a new trailer for this action RPG to offer a glimpse at the game’s setting and combat gameplay, which suggests the probable patented combo-based battle system.



The trailer sets up the background of the story, depicting the various realms (Asgard, Alfheim, Midgard, Niflheim, etc.) and the conflicts within the Norse pantheon leading up to Ragnarok, as well as how the "Twilight of the Gods" affects the lives of ordinary human beings.

EVE Fanfest 2016: Interview with Executive Producer of CCP's VR Labs

EVE Fanfest 2016, 2P.COM and 17173 had a chance to sit down with Morgan Godat, the executive producer of CCP's VR Labs, and talk about the details of the upcoming VR game Project Arena and more. 

What inspired you to make a game like Project Arena?

Last year we showed a full-body VR experience using the Kinect to track your entire body: your fingers and your feet. We had an extraordinary response to that and we also had a great time developing for it. We got nothing but positive feedback so far. What we wanted to do was take that prototype experience and see whether we can replicate that on a consumer-facing piece of hardware. The Oculus touch controllers and even PlayStation VR with its motion controllers have the same range of equipment available for us to see can we pull off a full-body physical feeling game in that space.


We noticed the visual style is quite similar to that of Tron. Is that a coincidence or is that your intention to do that?

We've been very inspired from watching Tron since we were kids. Tron has always been the virtual reality dream. See how common it is with the red vs. blue and in video games there are usually a red team and a blue team.



Compared with the early prototype version, has the game got any improvements?

Absolutely. There are graphical improvements and tracking improvements. We were using the Kinect to do the full-body tracking, you can't get very precise things like rolling your hand. We can do that now, we can roll the shield or the paddle over in your hand and hit it in different angles. The other improvement is mostly graphical. We tried to increase the atmosphere, and the feeling of, when I swing my racket, things in the world will react very quickly.

Project Arena

Will you add more battle mechanics, actions and things that make the game more action-packed?

You have the ability to throw where you want to throw, like if I want to throw and bounce off that corner, I can target that and I can learn how to get that throw perfect. You want to lean down on one knee and throw the racket shield across the ground, making the shied back and forth really low. We want all that and it's the level of intensity and the future of the game. What we want to do is to add more techniques, just like tennis. In tennis people learn fundamentals, and then the fundamentals to techniques and strength. Maybe you don't have the arm strength but you have the speed, and combining that with the hardware, The hardware has a limitation and you have to learn the hardware also, just like the race car driver who has to learn the limitation of his car.


Can players battle AI in this game? And how about battling other players through the internet?

Absolutely. We want to create an environment that when players first come in, they are allowed and comfortable learning the fundamentals without being judged by really great players online. As for battling other players online, yes you can do that. I have one of the setup in my house, and I can connect online to other players.

Project Arena

To be a good players of this game, or to master this game, do we need good reflection and good athletic ability?

Yes. This is the game relies very heavily on your own physical motion. We are not putting into Kinects where I push a button and dodge, you know you have to dodge. Just like any sports we expect people's physical strength and weakness to play it. We want to create a system that's robust enough to accommodate that. In basketball you may have a players who's shorter but techniques make him a player to compete with players who are taller whether they can jump higher, whether they are faster — any of these components that we like players to identify themselves and then utilize the strength in the arena.
 

Can you share more interesting ideas of how you can use the techniques to play?

What we also try to do is, because of the strength and the interesting opportunity virtual reality offers, we are actually looking into ways for players who have to sit down to play and they can still have the fun time. Something include having a player drive their character and by moving their head they might be able to dodge their entire character out of the way. Because I can't stand to play the game — very similar to the way that they doing in basketball like you can still play basketball on a wheelchair. VR offers a very interesting opportunity to project yourself into another body into another space, and why not accommodate that? 

Will we be able to customize our avatars in the game?

That's our hope. One of the really big things in this game that is important to us is that you as a player are responsible for your action. This is a strange thing to say but think about people in most video games, I got a shotgun and you got an assault rifle and we are shooting each other but where are my hands on the screen, I don't care. Where am I on the map is important. In this game where you hands are in the space are your responsibility, what you act like is your responsibility, and what you look is your responsibility. So if a player shows up wearing a score helmet and score shoulder pads and they act like a jerk, they are a jerk. Like in sports if people are always bullying others and being mean, like if that's your persona, that's what you are going to be known online. And if you are good sportsman and you help people and teach people, they can see your body language, and they can hear your voice. You know what we expect people to troll each other, we expect people to be terrible to each other online but we are hoping that want people to recognize that I can't just go in and be a complete jerk.

So we can actually talk to each other and say what we want to say?

Yeah, a big part of the game is communication. We have it but we are not really showing it downstairs (at the show floor). What we want is the ability for spectators in VR to watch my friend play. Maybe you and I in the match watch two of our friends playing down here and you and I can talk about it like you watch a sport on television, people are highlighting like "did you see that?" We think the social aspect of the game is extraordinary important.

The project now remains a prototype or a test program, but how much chance it has to become a commercial product?

A lot of that depends on the feedback we get. So far the feedback is pretty extraordinary positive. We just don't have anything to announce the percentage chance for it to become a shipped product.

Traffic-Dodging Arcade Hopper Crossy Road Gets Multiplayer Mode on Android

Hipster Whale and Yodo1 has just announced that the addition of Wi-Fi-enabled multiplayer to their fast-paced traffic-dodging arcade hopper Crossy Road on Android. The update allows up to four users to play together in real-time in a mix of competitive and cooperative gameplay. The game has just attained more than 120 million downloads, and I believe that this update will increase this number dramatically.





The Crossy Road multiplayer mode only works locally over Wi-Fi, so you cannot play online. To keep things interesting for you and your friends, the game is simultaneously competitive and cooperative. While you are trying to get the highest score out of the four people playing, you can revive one another until all players are knocked out. While competitive, players must help each other stay alive in order to get the top spot on the leaderboards.


Armored Warfare Unleashes Fury With Tier 10 Tanks

Developer Obsidian Entertainment and global publisher My.com are excited to reveal details of the first Tier 10 vehicles that will be added with the upcoming Update 0.15 on May 3rd. The highest tier in Armored Warfare will include pieces of armored technology, such as the Leopard 2A7, XM1A3 Abrams, PL-01, and more.



“Leading up to the introduction of Tier 10, we've been carefully monitoring the community's opinions on what the highest tier of Armored Warfare should contain,” said Antoine Guyard, EU producer for Armored Warfare. “It became obvious that while having vehicles that actually exist, it would also be good to take it a bit further and let our players experience the vehicles that are currently in the prototype or concept phase, with experimental or planned upgrades. Considering the fact that actions in Armored Warfare take place in mid-2030s, we see it as as perfect solution to bring the most awesome vehicles into Armored Warfare. We hope our players will enjoy these newest additions to Armored Warfare!”
 
Armored Warfare Tier 10 Vehicle details: 
  • PL-01– light tank concept developed by OBRUM and BAE Systems on a CV90 AFV chassis. Armed with an auto-loading 120mm cannon that is capable of firing APFSDS, HEAT and HE shells as well as LAHAT anti-tank guided missiles. Agile and fast, the PL-01 is the pinnacle of the Light Tank class.
  • SPHINX– French prototype vehicle by Panhard. It's a sturdy turreted six-wheeled and lightly armored vehicle but with considerable firepower from its 40mm autocannon and ATGMs. SPHINX will be the most potent scouting vehicle in Armored Warfare.
  • Leopard 2A7-140– the ultimate combination of the most modern Leopard 2 armor kit available and the firepower of a 120mm L/55 Rheinmetall gun or experimental 140mm cannon. Equipped with the most advanced countermeasures available in the world, it will be a tough opponent to beat for any vehicle.
  • XM1A3 Abrams– prototype which combines the most advanced upgrades available for this aging chassis. Based on the M1A2 Abrams with a TUSK kit and ARAT-2 explosive reactive armor, it is armed with a 120mm gun that can be upgraded to the 140mm ATACS cannon.
  • T-14 Armata– super-modern Main Battle Tank from Russia introduced in early 2015. It's an advanced design that includes an unmanned turret and a new 125mm automatically loaded gun, which surpasses any other MBT currently in service.
  • Challenger 2 ATDU– the latest experimental version of the legendary Challenger 2 and best-armored vehicle in Armored Warfare. Excellent armor and experimental 140mm cannon capable of firing both kinetic and high-explosive shells make it one of the most dangerous beasts on the battlefield.

NextFloor rolled out the early access signup for the iOS version of mobile RPG Crystal Hearts which is developed by DMK Factory. As NextFloor's first publishing title, Crystal Hearts set successful track record of Android version which was released in February and hit 2 million downloads. Gree’s New Action RPG Soul Arms Features Deep Dual Weapon Combination System

Wright Flyer Studios, the Gree’s lately-lunched studio, has just announced that the highly-anticipated mobile game Soul Arms is now available on Japan’s App and Play Store. With more than 100,000 registered users, Soul Arms got so much attention even before the beta phase.





Soul Arms is a side-scrolling mobile RPG featuring hack & slash gameplay and dual weapon combo system, where players are equip two different weapons and cast different combo skills to smash evil monsters in the dungeons. There are more than 400 weapons waiting you to acquire in this game, and your characters’ appearance and skills will be changed according to your weapons. In addition, the game also supports a 4 player co-op mode which allows you to battle with your friends.



Soul Arms is currently available in Japan, and no words on whether this game will be launched in western countries. More information could be found on game's official site.


Wargaming & Dark Horse Comics Form Alliance to Publish WOT Comic Book Series

Wargaming, the award-winning online game developer and publisher of the globally successful World of Tanks combat series, today announced a partnership with comic book publisher Dark Horse Comics. This agreement will see the creation and publication of the “World of Tanks: Roll Out!” comic book series inspired by the hit video game with over 120 million registered players globally. “World of Tanks: Roll Out!” will be a five issue series, rolling into comic book stores across the US and European territories and digital distribution in the fall of 2016.
 

“World of Tanks: Roll Out!” will be written by fan-favorite Garth Ennis (Preacher, War Stories, The Punisher), who brings a unique, historically-informed approach to tell a hard-hitting war tale focused on the daring tank crews of  World War II. The legendary Carlos Ezquerra (Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, War Stories Vol. 2) will bring his decades of skill to depict the tanks of WWII and the men who commanded them. Covers will be gorgeously illustrated by Isaac Hannaford (HALO: Reach, The Punisher) and will burst with all the intense tank-on-tank combat to be found in the pages of “World of Tanks: Roll Out!”

World of Tanks: Roll Out!” is set during the tank battles of the summer 1944, featuring British versus German armored units in post D-Day Normandy. It’s the German Panthers vs. British Cromwells, as the British tankers push deeper into France and toward the might of the Germans.
“World of Tanks: Roll Out!” comic issue #1 will be available digitally in the fall of 2016 in comic book shops across North America and Europe, and will follow a monthly cadence of release for five issues of brutal tank combat.
 
 

Heroes of Skyrealm Interview: A Mobile Action RPG With PC Level Graphics

Last time, we reported the Mechanist Games, the developer behind City of Steam, revealed a brand-new mobile action RPG called Heroes of Skyrealm which is scheduled to launch on iOS and Android in Mid 2016. Mechanist Games has recently taken the interview of MMORPG and talked about the development behind the game, characters, weapons and more.



Can you give us some history on development of the game?

David Lindsay: Early 2015, we were getting much better at doing action games, especially in terms of art and presentation. We knew that irrespective of market trends, we were going to do a cool feeling action game. But it was going to need some awesome kind of innovation or story or world… really, anything to help it stand out in the oversaturated mobile game market.

A few months later, we decided to start work on Skyrealm, which was going to be quite a big risk for us. We all agreed that having the highest quality art we could manage was important. We also thought we needed to have some grand features like a spherical world and a giant upgradable airship.



Late 2015 we had a demo which we showed at the ChinaJoy game show. At that point Heroes of Skyrealm hadn’t been named, so we only called it a tech demo. We only showed the combat at that stage, but it got a lot of attention. I guess that made everyone feel safe, and so we rolled out the carpet for all of the other huge features that we had been waiting to implement.

At first our instinct was to show off this huge airship exploration feature that we were all putting together, but we realized that getting players into battle was the real priority. The airship would have to serve as a place to relax, and reduce the overall fatigue that can be a problem in action games.

From ChinaJoy through to the beginning of 2016, we spent a good half-year trying different things in combat, went through several revisions of the super team-attack skill, and settled on a formula that accommodates newcomers to action games, but caters best to hardening mid-core players.

After assembling all the different parts of the game, we took a playable build to GDC San Francisco 2016 (March) for another test run. And now we are acting on the feedback we received from that conference, trying to tighten up combat, and polish other details to really make Heroes of Skyrealm a unique experience.

The game has tremendous depth. What was it like putting so much content into a mobile game?

DL: Most of our team members come from a pretty hardcore gaming background. Knowing right at the start that we were going to put a lot of depth into this game was a big relief. I don’t think anyone was worried about the workload – we all wanted to build a world for players to enjoy.

While Skyrealm will still have light conversations and character interactions in the single-player campaign, the real meat of the backstory and world lore will be published as a series of comics. These comics are a roller coaster journey through all the diverse regions of the world, introducing characters along the way, and it all gives some real substance to the setting.

When it comes to developing story content, especially on mobile, you have to realize that most of this work is just for love. Since it’s optional, a lot of players aren’t going to care about it, but that doesn’t mean it’s not important.



City of Steam showed us just how critical accessibility is to a game's success. Skyrealm is a big world with compelling characters, but most importantly, it's fun to play. Messing around with systems, experimenting with your team lineup, and exploring little dialogues between characters are all rewarding, but I think we've done a great job of creating depth while maintaining a pick-up-and-play feel.

Talk about the character builds that players can set up in Skyrealm.

DL:  Since you fight with a three-hero team, characters in Heroes of Skyrealm aren’t just a combination of experience levels, skill points, and equipment upgrades – they complement each other. A lot of mobile games effectively discourage switching up your party with lengthy grinding, but we believe that swapping in a fresh hero should always feel good­­ – because the party is effectively a single unit, the sum of each character’s capabilities. And what’s great is that even if two players take the same three characters into battle, they can easily use different builds and tactics.

Every character can be further customized through the Soul Craft system, which is unlocked pretty early on. The first benefit is that every new weapon looks different.



But what’s even cooler is that each Soul Craft weapon has an effect on a character’s skills, effectively giving them a minor (but meaningful) specialization.   Faction missions reward players with different Soul Craft materials, so you can focus on crafting the weapons that you want. And since this isn’t a conventional loot drop system, the weapons are balanced from the get-go – they just offer dedicated players a slightly different way to play. Every new weapon is a viable part of your arsenal.

Daum Gave Answer to the Controversy Pre-order Tier 5 Horse But Players Not Happy

Recently, Black Desert Online players are in a concern that the Tier 5 horse which was sold together in the Conqueror's Pack, is actually a Tier 3 with a fancy Tier 5 skin and 1 less breed. According to players, the breeding results, stats and ability pool are all the same as T3's but the funny thing is the Tier 3 horse players got from the Explorer pack is a "true" one with 2 breeding speed stats and ability pools. This actually pissed a lot of players off and after a while, Black Desert CM Jouskaget back to players with an answer that players are not happy with.
After bringing your feedback and concerns to the Developers they looked into this matter and it was determined that there will be no compensation for the difference as the PreOrder Horse has better HP and better Stats in general. Also they clarified that the chance to learn skills is higher for the PreOrder Horse than for other horses while leveling up.  Below is an image comparing the PreOrder Tier 5 to a normal Tier 5, both at level 30.


I know this is not the resolution that many were looking for and I apologize for the delay in response, we wanted to confirm this information with the Developers which of course takes time.
As many players point out that the stats are not better than the one that should be. So many are wondering why only the Conqueror's Horse was "adjusted"? What do you think?

NEXON unveiled its unannounced new title Project A1 today at NDC 16(NEOXN DEVELOPER CONFERENCE 2016). Project A1 is NEXON'S NEW IP.

Clash Royale Road from Arena 4-7: Best Lightning Hog Rider Deck

You may often see Freeze spell + Hog Rider deck in the road from Arena 4 to 7 in Clash Royale but it needs you play the Freeze spell in the right time or you are gonna lose your synergy and lose the game. But with a lighting spell, it works very well because Lightning is the best answer to some annoying decks such as Mortar or spamming deck. Rides of Icarus: Mobile Version is on the Way

As the PC MMOPRG "Riders of Icarus" is going to be released by Nexon in certain regions on 28 April, the Korean developer WeMade Entertainment decides to hire around 10 personnel to develop its mobile version, which will be crafted using Unreal Engine 4.


We are now working with Nexon to send out a bunch of Closed Beta keys that will give you a chance to jump right into the game in advance.

The Hearthstone Whispers of the Old Gods expansion officially launches today, with 134 new cards. How many legendaries have you opened up from the new packs? For me I just got only 1 legendary card from 40 packs. Sucks right? The new cards also bring new decks and strategies. Today we will show you some brand-new deck list from those famous professional players and streamers. And we also separate them by Standard mode and Wild mode. Please note that all decks listed here are experimental and will likely be changed throughout the day.

Standard Mode

Amaz's WoTG Standard C'Thun Druid Deck



Amaz plays a pretty balanced list, and even attempt to utilize Fandral Staghelm to get some value out of his Choose One cards.


 
 

MrYagut's WoTG Standard Aggro Face Shaman



The deck was already solid, and it only really lost Crackle when Standard hit. It now gains Eternal Sentinel, and the powerhouse Flamewreathed Faceless.

SoulWorker Coming to NA/EU, 4 Classes and Over 100 Dungeons at Launch

Earlier this month, we reported that Gameforge will be the publisher for SoulWorker in NA/EU but no release date or closed beta date has been announced. Developed by Korea-based Lion Games, SoulWorker is one of the highly anticipated action MMORPGs with anime style. "I am pleased to finally accommodate the desires of players in Europe and North America with SoulWorker. We can hardly wait to get going with this hotly anticipated game", said Daniel Werner, Product Director for SoulWorker at Gameforge.



SoulWorker features a third-person perspective and player becomes a soulworker to against enemies who try to extinguish human race. Thanks to the HAVOK Vision Engine+, players can expect to experience cinematic gameplays in the game.


4 classes will be available at launch, namely ‘Soulum Sword’, ‘Mist Scythe’ ‘Gun Jazz’ or ‘Howling Guitar’. Also, there are over 100 PvE dungeons with episodic final bosses for players to explore. For PvP fans, they can go head to head in a dangerous PvP zone called District 6 where players will also have to fight with AI monsters and a gigantic boss in the center of the zone.


Players can also expect a rich crafting system in SoulWorker. In addition, players can team up to fight for their own lands where it can be built like a home with furniture pieces.

Unreal Engine 4 MMO Paragon: Free Beta Weekend Starts on April 28th

According to Paragon's official website, Epic Games announced its Free Beta Weekends plan. Starting from April 28th, the first Free Beta Weekend will begins and be availbale for the first 500,000 people who initially applied for beta access.

The first beta will end on May 1st. Oon May 5th, the Free Beta Weekends will meet every one who signed up for beta by the 1st. Since this is a stress test, Early Access players are able to participate and are even offered Double XP for both weekends.

The specific date for Paragon's release seems to be June 7th, as Epic Games has pinpointed that day for the sale of Paragon’s Essentials Edition. The Essentials Edition includes a bundle of goods to help get you off to a running start. These include beta access, five skins, master hero challenges, several heroes, rep boosts, and a chunk of in-game currency.

Today I am going to recommend you an impressive Arena 5 Deck which could help you reach to Arena 7. There is no doubt that Hog Rider is the most powerful card in current meta-gaming, so we surround this card and add some powerful offensive and defensive cards which are turned out to be very effective. It is hard to learn but powerful once you have mastered this deck.



Hog Rider is the key card of this deck. Almost all damage to opponent’s crown towers will be taken from him. It is best to use him when you have Zap and other goblins. The best way the deploy them is placing goblins on the bridgehead and setting Hog Rider just beside them. The Hog Rider will jump over the river and dash to opponent’s towers. Then please prepare you Zap or Fireball to counter their Barbarians or goblins. The Zap can kill all the Goblins in same level.

In addition, the Bomb Tower is most defensive tower in this version of the game. It has a ton of HP, and even if it can’t shoot down flying troops it will still distract them while your other towers take them down. Please place this in the middle of the area in front of your king so it can cover both lanes.

Minion Horde is great on both offense and defense. Don’t hesitate to use it even your opponent has Arrows since when the arrows reach them, your opponent’s tanky target is usually almost dead.

In order to make up the damage, please make sure that every fireball hit the crown towers and also other troops.
