Clash Royale Tournament has become popular since the July update. While some players are happy about the new features, a number of players whose battle deck cannot get the tournament standard level cap are sad about the new mode. Many people believe that Royal Giant’s level is quite important for RG deck, therefore we can hardly see RG decks in tournament. Today I am going to share a flexible RG deck with you guys, hope it will win you more Tournament Chests.
My DeckCard Breakdown
ZAP: A versatile card. It can be used to clear swarms and force enemies to retarget your troops. When you RG’ hp goes down to 10%, zap the Arena Tower to make it retarget on your Minions. Also, if you opponents push with RG + Sparky, you should zap the Sparky first and then put down Barbarians. Keep the order in mind!
Poison: A powerful deck. If you can get the right point, this deck will definitely bring you positive elixir trade. Check the picture below, all enemies in the range are poisoned so that the RG can survive longer.
If your opponents have elixir collector in their decks, they will drop the pump in these points (shown as below). And we don’t have good offensive push at the moment, we can use throw poison on the Elixir Collector as well as the Arena Tower. It doesn’t matter if we poison the King Tower because RG is our main DPS.
Skeletons: A cheap troop. They are good for distracting Minions/Mini Pekka/Pekka and cycling the deck. If you play it well, it can also take out Wizard/Witch/Musketeer (Drop them on the top of these troops).
Minions: Paired with RG, they will do more chip damage to the Arena Tower. Also it can quickly take out the defensive buildings like Inferno Tower if you hold zap in hand. If you don’t know what your opponents have in hand, you can drop minions later.
Fire Spirits: It’s nice to cycle the deck and take out swarms. Also, it can be used to deal with Miner.
Barbarians: Mainly used for defence. It’s nice to take out RG, Hog Rider, Miner, Giant, Sparky.
Elixir Collector: It will help you build up elixir advantage. Although, there are many Miner decks in tournament, we can use Giants, Barbarians to protect the pump. In the beginning, drop it in front of your King Tower and then place it behind your arena tower if you opponents do not play Miner Decks. Be careful, Fireball may destroy your pump, your arena tower and your troops.
Royal Giant: The core of this deck. It’s extremely crazy after taking out one arena tower.
Tips to Use RG
After the first huge push, we have 2 options (supposed we have already taken out one arena tower).
A. King Tower’s hp > Arena Tower’s Hp: Attack Arena Tower
After the fist push, you need to know what your opponents have in hand. If you know your opponents have no suitable troops to deal with your RG in the moment, you can drop RG in the black square (shown as below). Standing in the black square, your RG will attack the other arena tower and prevent from being attacked by the King Tower.
If your opponents have Barbarians/Mini Pekka/Minion Horde to take care of your RG, you can drop RG in the red square so that both King Tower and Arena Tower will be distracted. By doing so, the supporting troop will help RG survive longer.
Barbarians: Drop Fire Spirits behind RG and Hold Zap in hand.
Mini Pekka: Drop Barbarians behind RG.
Minion Horde: Drop Fire Spirits behind RG.
B. King Tower’s hp < Arena Tower’s Hp or or Your Opponents use Giant + Balloon/ Three Musketeer Decks : Attack King Tower
Drop RG in the red circle.
