Ranch-themed Board Game Agricola: All Creatures Big & Small Is Coming to Mobile

$

0

Agricola: All Creatures Big & Small
, developed by DIGIDICED, will allow player to be the owner of an old farmstead with a bit of land. However, a neighboring farmer happens to have a competitive streak -- so all bets are off!

Whether competing against each other or CPU, players must use their wits to acquire and manage both resources and livestock over eight rounds -- while attempting to strategically deploy buildings -- in a mad dash for farm and fortune.

At its core, Agricola: All Creatures Big & Small is acompetitive 1v1 ranch-themed board game. Like previous DIGIDICED releases Patchwork and Le Havre: The Inland Port, the game supports cross-platform multiplayer worldwide -- allowing Android, iOS, and Windows players to challenge each other based on skill alone.

In the game, each player has three workers that are sent to a nearby village market to acquire resources/livestock. Each of the 16 locations in the market serve a unique purpose -- raising livestock, producing resources, or allowing the player to purchase structures. Players take turns placing their workers throughout the market, with each location only capable of supporting one worker per round.

Before players can start breeding animals, they will first need to make sure pastures are fenced. (No one wants their animals to escape!) Once fenced, each pasture can support two animals; special structures (such as a trough or stalls) can be purchased from the village market to increase the amount of animals each pasture can hold. Players can also buy additional plots of land to expand their ranch. At breeding time, all that’s left is to place two animals of the same species in the same pasture -- and they’ll take care of the rest!

Agricola: All Creatures Big & Small will launch on the App Store, Google Play and Windows Store on August 9th for $4.99. There’s also an optional $2.99 add-on, “More Buildings Big and Small” -- adding 27 new special buildings to the base game as well as a fifth Stall tile *and* a farm expansion.

Survey Shows Nearly Half of Japanese College Students Are Tired of Pokemon Go

Undoubtedly, the launching of Pokemon Go caused a sensation worldwide, making it the most popular mobile game in the US history. The game landed on its born country Japan kinda late due to the server problems. How will it go in Japan? Is Pokemon Go just a flash in the pan or will it become the mainstay of Nintendo? According to a survey by niconico, many Japanese college students are already tired of Pokemon Go.

A total of 352 college students participated in the survey. Among them, 159 players (45.2%) said they are already a bit tired of Pokemon Go while 193 players (54.8%) stated they will keep playing. It seems Japanese players are a bit fickle in affection, after all Pokemon Go just released in Japan less than 2 weeks.

You might still see many players staring at their phones to catch Pokemon on the road but many also said Pokemon evolution has become harder and harder and hatching eggs require too much walks plus the hot weather, they are not in the mood exploring the reality world.

How about you? Are you still crazy about the catch'em all game or you are also planning quitting the game?

Black Desert Offers a Solution for the Pay2Win Concerns Raised by the Value Pack

A few weeks ago, Kakao Games added to Black Desert the Value Package. A new $15/month Value Pack was allowing players to get some gameplay conveniences and benefits in the game. Soon  after this monthly subscription service was added to the game the BDO community responded in the form of many pages of complains on the official forum. At that moment, Kakao Games was stating that it will take into consideration all the suggestions and feedback received from the community and find a solution that is best suitable for the region.

A new thread on the BDO official forum was made by Kakao Games in order to let players know about a big change that is coming to the game. "The Value Package, Outfits, Costumes and Pets will be made available via the Market Place." Pearl Abyss decided to add "limitation mechanics into the game". In other words: "Players will be limited to selling five items from the Pearl Shop on the Market Place  per week. This compromise will still provide in game accessibility but restrict how much can be gained via real money investment." This new solution to the old Value Package issue also triggered many pages of complains from the BDO community. They will definitely need to come up with a better solution.

Feel free to share your thoughts.

Bethesda announced at QuakeCon today that its free to play card game The Elder Scrolls: Legends is now in open beta on PC. Getting into the beta is pretty easy: just head over to the official website to download and install the Bethesda.net launcher and you are good to go!

The Elder Scrolls: Legends has been in closed beta for several months. The game is still in development though and is supposed to be the biggest competitor for Blizzard's hit CCG Hearthstone. While the open beta is only for PC, Bethesda also plans to launch The Elder Scrolls: Legends on Mac, iOS, and Android later this year.

Players are also encouraged to visit the official website for several beginner and advanced tips on getting started, building decks etc.

>>> Next page: Introduction to Deck Building

Introduction to Deck Building

If you’re new to strategy card games, you may find yourself with a lot of questions as you assemble your first deck. How many cards should be in your deck? How should you balance out your magicka costs? What’s the right amount of variety to have in a deck? The rich story campaign in The Elder Scrolls: Legends is designed to help you answer some of those questions, but we have some additional tips and info to help you get started.

Deck Size

The minimum (and recommended) deck size in The Elder Scrolls: Legends is 50 cards. Traditionally in card games you want to keep your deck as close to the minimum as possible. When you keep your deck to the minimum size, you increase your odds of drawing the best cards in your deck at the times you might need them most. Can you make your deck larger than 50 cards? Certainly! You can have up to 70 cards in your deck. But competitively speaking, 50 cards is a pretty good point to aim for.

One Attribute...or Two!

Each deck in Legends can contain one or two of the five attributes , but no more. There are benefits to either configuration. Going with one attribute ensures that cards like Baron of Tear are more likely to trigger their Summon. On the other hand, having a deck that contains two attributes gives your deck more versatility, along with the ability to play dual-attribute cards. Both choices have their pros and cons and are largely dependent on your own unique play style.

Keep in mind that neutral cards (cards without an attribute) can be played in any deck, regardless of the number of attributes the deck contains.

Three of Any Card, Except…

You can include up to three copies of any card in your deck. When you have multiple copies of a card, you are obviously more likely to draw it in any given game.

There are, of course, situations where you might not want to have three of a certain card. This often comes into play when looking at cards that cost six or more magicka. You don’t want to clog up your hand with cards you’re unable to cast in the early game. Having fewer of these allows you to prevent this.

There is also a type of card that you cannot have three copies of when crafting your deck...

Uniques!

Unique cards are some of the most powerful in the game. They also happen to be unique in terms of Elder Scrolls lore; after all, it doesn’t really make sense for you to have three Lucien Lachances in your deck! You can only put one copy of these cards into your deck, and they must still fit into your deck’s chosen attributes.

Mind Your Curve

Your magicka curve is something you want to be mindful of while building your deck. You typically want a low number of zero and one costed cards; a good deal of two, three, four, and five costed cards; and a low number of six or higher costed cards. This would result in what should look like a bell curve for your deck.

Most of the action in a game tends to take place between two and five magicka. As we mentioned, you don’t want your early hands bogged down with cards you can’t cast until the late game. Similarly, you don’t want your late game draws to be underpowered zero- or one-cost cards. Typically, having a high concentration of two- through five-cost cards is a safe call.

This isn’t always the case. Sometimes you’re going to be playing a more aggressive deck that’s extremely heavy on the one- and two-cost cards and eschews anything above four or five magicka altogether.

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to building your deck in The Elder Scrolls: Legends.

The second quarterly report for Activision Blizzard's earnings in 2016 is out and it contains some interesting information on Overwatch, Hearthstone and World of Warcraft. The report shows yet another successful trimester for Activision Blizzard in particular. Blizzard had the biggest quarterly online player community in its history, with 33 million Monthly Active Users (MAU). It’s a new record for the company, and half of these users are Overwatch players.

"Blizzard had the biggest quarterly online player community in its history, with MAUsA of 33 million, up 29% quarter-over-quarter and 13% year-over-year. This reflects the successful launch of Overwatch® and strength across the broader portfolio, including Hearthstone®: Heroes of Warcraft™, which had record quarterly MAUsA, and World of Warcraft®, which had double-digit MAUA growth quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year."

There is no doubt that Overwatch is now Blizzard most popular game of the Blizzard. It currently has more than 15 million players, who have spent about 500 million hours playing the game. Moreover, Overwatch also broke Diablo III’s record in China as the fastest-selling PC game in the history there. In addition, the Hearthstone and World of Warcraft are also doing good, and we are expected to see the new expansions One Night in Karazhan and Legion respectively.

Japanese Olympian Been Charged $5,000 for Data Usage When Playing Pokemon Go

$

Japanese Olympic gymnast Kohei Uchimura was sent to attend a pre-Olympics training camp in Rio last week while his teammate strongly recommended him download the hit mobile game Pokemon Go. However, something unexpected happened to Uchimura as he might be a bit obsessed over at Pokemon Go but he obviously was not aware of how much data he's going to spend and how much roaming fees he's going to be charged by constantly playing Pokemon Go until he was informed with a bill of 500,000 yen (around $4,954).

According to Comicbook.com, Uchimura was shocked after he knew the unfathomable phone bill and his teammate, Kenzo Shirai, described Uchimura's mood at lunch after he found out, saying "He looked dead at the team meal that day."

But lucky for Uchimura, his phone carrier was quite considerate and agreed to just charge $30 a day after Uchimura explained the whole situation. That still probably will cost Uchimura several hundred dollars but thankfully, not $5,000.

“I really lucked out,” Uchimura said.

Yeah I can't agree more. Pokemon Go is fun without doubt but it definitely is not worth $5,000 for the fun and this is also a good lesson for other players to learn when trying to hunt Pokemon.

China WoW Player Bought 12 Years of Game Time on Last Day of Hourly Subscription

Since the World of Warcraft firstly launched in China in 2015, the game featured a unique payment method different from monthly subscription: hourly game time with no expiration date, and players don’t need to pay extra money for new expansions.

During the ChinaJoy, WoW’s Chinese publisher Netease announced the payment method change. The monthly subscription will be added to the game and players will no longer be available to buy hourly game time since August 4. This announcement made a great stir in Chinese Warcraft community. Although lots of Chinese players expect monthly subscription for years, they are still not satisfied at all because of at the expense of losing the no expiration’s game time. Players can only transfer no expiration’s game time to day time by the rate of 150 minutes to 1 day.

On the last day of method change, a Chinese player bought 662,968 minutes of the game time in WoW. The previous fees are 30 RMB(~$5) for 2700 minutes, so he spent 7000 RMB(~$1054) for all the game time. According to the exchange rate, he will be available to play 4420 days in World of Warcraft, which means he can play until 2028. Coincidentally, World of Warcraft has published for 12 years in the World, and he has already invested for the upcoming 12 years.

Lineage II Blood Alliance Review: You Can Enjoy the Teamwork

$

Licensed by NCsoft and developed by Snail Games, Lineage II Blood Alliance inherits the worldview in Lineage 2 and features unique castle sieges system. Combined with the elements of strategy games and role-playing games, players will be able to enjoy the most authentic gaming experience in the MMORPG.

Powered by Flex 3D engine, this mobile game displays similar graphics to the Lineage 2 PC version. Although there are some flaws in the graphics, the overall scene is still attractive. Each character has its distinctive appearance with gorgeous clothing.

There are 5 classes in Lineage II Blood Alliance, including Human, Orc, Elven, Kamael, Dark Elven. When you reach a certain level, you can make a class transfer. Each class only has two options (Check here), which is less flexible than its PC version. Luckily, we still have metal suits for each class.

With the latest non-target gameplay, players can change angles with specific operations on the screen. There will be some tasks to teach you how to change the angle, for example the Dragon Riding Patrol task will require players to use wide viewing angle.

Besides the daily quests, players can enjoy the hardcore gamepaly of its PC version, like team cooperation and castle siege. Unlike most mobile RPG, Lineage II Blood Alliance pays more attention to teamwork and players cannot pass the dungeons alone.

Using the same world map, players can explore the connected areas. The fastest way to level up would be complete quests and finish dungeons. Mounting system, weapon upgrading system, blood alliance system and so on will open to you when your character reaches certain levels.

The PvP modes are also imported into the mobile game. Players can enjoy both 1 vs 1 and team vs team mode. As for this point, the interface should be improved so that players will have more choices to change the battle viewing angle.

Based on Lineage’s IP, Lineage II Blood Alliance won’t disappoint its players.

This New Overwatch Rip-off Mobile Game Launching in China Is Even More Hilarious

$

The release of Blizzard’s Overwatch has gathered a huge amount of gamers into this game and the popularity is no exception when Netease released Overwatch in China. You might still remember Legend of Titan, an Overwatch ripoff game which the Chinese dev plans to invest $2M in the development. Legend of Titan totally mimics Overwatch in terms of playstyle and character abilities and it also shows how influential China ripoff games are. However, much to our surprise, even before Legend of Titan was released, there was already a mobile game (守望前锋 in Chinese), which was named very similar to Overwatch, being released in the App Store.

This mobile game, which was released on 2nd August, was not in the Games section of the app store but instead was found under Entertainment section. By comparing the mobile game icon below, it is almost the same as the game icon of Overwatch. In addition, the name only differs by 1 character which makes us strongly believe that it could be a mobile ripoff version of Overwatch.

Someone spent 1 RMB into purchasing the mobile game so as to uncover the contents of the game. However, the mobile game is totally not related to Overwatch AT ALL! The mobile game is a 2D shooting game whereby players are able to use different shooting weapons to challenge campaign mode. Players are required to wipe out Bosses and enemies and dodging shots from them simultaneously. The overall controlling mechanism for the game is user friendly.

Thus, we can safely confirm that other than the similarity in the game name and the game icon, this mobile game is totally unrelated to Overwatch. We strongly believed that the developers make use of the similar game name and icon to deceive players into thinking that it is the mobile version of Overwatch so as to raise their games' popularity.
