AION 5.0 Lost Memories becomes available on the European servers. Starting from today, the AION players will discover four brand new instances. Library of Knowledge is a mysterious place that contains numerous sketches and drafts of the history of Atreia.
In Adma Ruins the evil Puppeteer is wreaking havoc in the Adma fortress and are manipulating the locals.

In Elemental Lord's Laboratory a mysterious artifact that can grant eternal life has fallen into the wrong hands. Your mission is to eliminate the Elemental Lord before he manage to
abuse it according to his will. 

In Arkhal's Hidden Space, the devoted Arkhal has looted a piece of the Tower of Eternity and entrenched himself in his hideout. You must defeat him in order to weaken Beritra's strength. All this new instances can be visited by groups of up to 6 players with level 66 and above. 

Update 5.0 also brings valuable rewards via in-game surveys when you reach levels 70, 73 and 75. Some UI improvements and character creation adjustements have been made by Gameforge.

Developed and published by EST Soft's subsidiary EST Games, CABAL 2 unveiled a new class BLADER. As CABAL 2's first new class, BLADER is a powerful melee attacker using two blades and unleash fast and gorgeous skill.

This new class is set to release on August 30th in Korea. The update schedule for North America and Europe server and SEA English server has not been confirmed. Please stay tuned at 2p.com for further information.

Black Desert developer Pearl Abyss has appointed Kyoungin Jung the new CEO of the company. Report said that Kyoungin Jung worked at 4:33, Kakao Games, Factorial Games before, all of which were major game companies in Korea.

Jung revealed that Black Desert's success in global market allowed them to bring the game to the Greater China region. He mentioned the company will be committed to expand the business on mobile platforms.

Jung's predecessor Daeil Kim stepped down from the position of Pearl Abyss CEO in May and he was then fully focusing on game development, including Black Desert's update and new project's development.
 
Black Desert NA and EU players may be looking for some changes for their version. The game's western version once again fell in pay-to-win controversy recently, after the NA/EU publisher decided to allow premium items to be sold in marketplace in the game. Playpark, a leading online game publisher in Southeast Asia, announced that their Metal Slug style mobile title, Super Slug enters open beta test today.

With the inexplicable popularity of Pokemon Go, more and more mobile game developers start to work on augmented reality features and innovative in-game modes. Crytek, the developer behind CryEngine and Far Cry, has recently announced its real time strategy shooting game Bad Boy will feature AR card support soon. If you are not familiar with Bad Boy, please check out our game preview here.

In fact, it is not the first time that we see Augmented Reality Card features in game since Nintendo has already implement this technology on 3DS, allowing player to augment the real time graphics onto live footage. Similar to Pokemon Go, players will be available to use the phone camera to interact with reality. When they scan the specific game AR card, it can turn your desk into a miniature battlefield in which you can get special weapons and quests. Right now the development hasn’t finished yet and you can only see 5 AR cards. From the demo, the graphics are more primitive, but it will be undoubtedly advanced when the AR card update officially launches.



In Bad Boy, a mercenary army made up of former Special Forces soldiers, assassins and government secret service agents are designated to carry out the most unique yet darkest missions. There are 6 unique character types players can choose from: Commando, Rifleman, Demoman, Medic, Heavy and Engineer.

The World of Warcraft Demon Invasion has just rolled out over the three weeks leading up to the official arrival of the expansion. In the first week, players will join Varian Vol’jin and Sylvanas in the next stage of the opening cinematic for the Legion expansion.



When players finish the Broken Shore Event in the Pre-Legion content, they will see the epic ending cinematic which pushes the very important main storyline for Alliance and Horde respectively. Heroes of Shadow Guard is a cross-platform MMO that just launched on Steam. The iOS and Android version will be released in the future (by that time you can play on any of those platform with one account). The game borrows the popular build/defense and attack elements from games like Clash of Clans, allowing you to design the layout and traps for your own dungeon, and challenge other players'.
 
 
You will raid other players' dungeon in the first-person point of view and under the turn-based combat mechanism. By doing so you can unlock new heroes, new gear and new dungeon guards that can be placed in your dungeon.
 

Apparently the game isn't sold for graphics, but the interaction between players and the strategies in dungeon designing and raiding.

Hello guys. Many of you are asking about whether I can make a deck for Arena 8 without legendary cards or Epic cards. So today, I am going share the f2p Royal Giant deck with you guys.
 
My Deck

It’s a low elixir deck which enables us to quickly cycle Royal Giant. We have great combos for offence and defence.
 
On Offence
Royal Giant is the core of this deck and other cards are used to support RG. There is an important battle strategy we need to know: If you know the enemy and know yourself, Victory will be guaranteed. So if we cannot make a huge push in the starting hand, we should wait patiently. Put down Goblins or Minions to learn what your opponent has in hand.
 
Of course, if we have Royal Giant + Bomber in the beginning, we can put down bomber behind the King Tower and then bridge drop Royal Giant as long as our elixir load up. After that, we can use Archers or Fireball to deal with flying troops; Ignore ranged troops like Ice Wizard, Wizard, Musketeer, etc so that when they cross the river, we can Fireball them all or just use Goblins/Minions to deal with them after they locking onto the Arena Tower!
 
Many players are using Inferno Tower or Bomb Tower in their decks, so if our first offensive push is blocked by this defensive building, we need to change our pushing strategy. We can use Royal Giant + Minions to deal with the defensively building.
 
On Offence
Giant + Sparky– When your opponent drop Sparky behind the King Tower, you can quickly bridge drop Royal Giant on another lane, and then when they are about to cross the river, put down Inferno Tower in the center. And then use Goblins + Zap to deal with the Sparky.
 
Miner + Hog– Goblins/Minions + Inferno Tower/Bomber
 
Lava Hound + Minion Horde– It’s hard to deal with them so the best way would be play offensively. When your opponent drop Lava Hound behind the King Tower, you can quickly bridge drop Royal Giant on another lane, then your opponent will use Mini Horde to deal with your RG. We can Zap them and then use Inferno Tower to distract Lava Hound and drop Archers behind Arena Tower to take out Lava Pups.

Developed by Righteous Hammer Games, Solitairica is a card game and roguelike RPG that was released on Steam earlier this year. Now this game is coming to iOS on August 25. The Solitairica combines solitaire strategy and powerful spells to defeat a myriad of monsters. 



There are several classes for players to choose from and each with their own special decks. Matching cards in numeric order will help clear the card stacks, while your use of spells and items even the odds against more challenging foes. In addition, players will also be available to unlock perks and new classes which change the way you play.

Tibia is an old MMORPG developed by four German computer-science students and released in January 1997. Recently the game came into the spotlight for its ridiculous grinding and a mysterious locked door.
 

How heavy is the grinding? According to report:
 

Going from level 19 to level 20 requires 15,400 experience points, and the most you can get from a single enemy is a high-level boss that drops 35,000 XP.

For level 49 to level 50, it's 112,900 XP. At level 50, you've acquired a grand total of 1,847,300 XP. At level 100, it's a massive 15,694,800 XP. 

Moving from level 998 to level 999, though? It requires the equivalent number of points as leaping from level 1 to level 145: 49,650,700.

But there are still over 12,000 people out there playing the game. And what about the mysterious locked door?
 
It's mysterious because it requires a character to reach level 999 to open, and no one has ever opened it until recently. 19 years after the game launched, a player named Kharsek became the first one qualified to open the door.

And what's behind the door? Nothing, that's what the developer says. What happened to the player who opened the door? He passed the door, logged off, and disappeared.

NetEase unveiled a brand new 3D MMORPG named Twilight Spirits at this year's ChinaJoy. Featuring a cinematic-level graphic and a non-target combat system, Twilight Spirits has raised many attentions from players. Many players said Twilight Spirits looks like Revelation Online at first sight, another NetEase's action MMORPG. Then what are the differences between them?

Twilight Spirits focuses more on action

Twilight Spirits producer said in an interview with Chinese game media that the biggest difference between the two MMORPGs lies in the fact that Twilight Spirits focuses more on action while Revelation Online is just an MMO. Everything built in Twilight Spirits is around the "action" element and the core game features are group dungeons, personal raid, arena PvP and multi-player teamwork. In this way, Twilight Spirits is more like a dungeon-based action MMO, just like Dragon Nest and Vindictus. However, Twilight Spirits also has wild battle besides the various dungeons.


Hit response feels like console games; competitor is Vindictus

For an action MMO, hit response in the combat is important for players. Levitating in the air, combos and ultimate operation will be presented without reservation in Twilight Spirits. As for the game's competitor, Vindictus would be the one. The producer admitted that Vindictus is a great action game but he is confident about Twilight Spirits. In addition, there's no restrict holy trinity setting in the game.

Whenever players successfully dodge enemies incoming attacks by right clicking the mouse, "Dragon Spirit Moment" will be triggered. For 3.5 to 5 seconds, enemy monsters or bosses will entering into "bullet time" when their movement will become very slow so the whole team can take advantage of this time to deal huge damage to them.

Mobius Final Fantasy the episodic mobile RPG developed and published by Square Enix was released worldwide on August 3rd. One week after it became available on Google Play and App Store,  Square Enix reports that Mobius Final Fantasy exceeded 1 million downloads. In Japan, Mobius FF was launched in June 2015 and won the prize "Best of 2015" on the App Store. Based on the number of downloads made in such a short time, it seems that Mobius shares the success of the the Japanese version.
 

To celebrate this milestone, various updates and in-game events have been performed by dev. The game features four character classes: Hunter, Dark Knight, Thief and Black Mage from which players can choose. Mobius uses a simple and convenient design that allows single-handed operations. It displays some impressive 3D graphics that makes the combat effects between characters look amazing.

Lineage II Blood Alliance is a mobile MMORPG licensed by NCsoft and developed by Snail Games. This mobile game that inherits the worldview and the castle sieges system from the well known Lineage II, was launched in China on July 28th. Lineage II Blood Alliance is currently available only for the iOS devices. According to Snail Games, the Chinese developer, the Android version will be released in September. Details about a English-language edition of the game are not yet known. The gaming studio is still working at the crafting system and it will be implemented with the next update.

 

Currently the game allows groups of up to five players and the structure of a clan can be expanded up to 200 players. Since it was first announced, Lineage II Blood Alliance was labeled with many different names. The most common one is Lineage II Blood Oath. According to the Korean side, the full name of the Western game is Lineage II: Pledge of Blood.

All the Pay2Win changes made by Kakao Games in Black Desert have generated all kind of feedback from the BDO community. Starting from thousands of replies on the official forum and even in-game protests, the BDO community expresed their opinion regarding this p2w changes. Claiming refunds was another way in which the BDO players were trying to "punish" Kakao Games for the p2w changes, especially in Europe. The publisher took action against players who were encouraging each other to issue chargebacks.

The studio sent a letter to everyone who initiated a chargeback in which they explained the consequences for doing so, making a difference between legitimate and illegitimate chargebacks, and stating that an illegitimate chargeback could have an impact on one's Credit Score. The company says it will allow players “time to consider [their] decision, and fully assess the impact these changes will have on [their] enjoyment” of the game: “We will not take action on your account until the 22nd August, after which time, any account with outstanding chargebacks will be closed.” On the other hand, some of the chargebacks are in line with EU consumer protection law.

Bluehole Studio, the Korean game developer behind TERA, announced that their latest mobile strategy RPG Raid Mater will be available worldwide via Google Play and the iOS version will be released via App Store in September.
 

Unlike other mobile RPG in the market, the turn-based game requires players to decide heroes’ placement and use specific skills to beat monsters. There will be a variety of collectable heroes, including tanker, damage dealer and healer. Heroes can be obtained through secret dungeon. Players will be able to enjoy continent adventure and infinite wave to collect crafting materials which will help heroes become stronger.

At ChinaJoy 2016, Ubisoft announced a brand new mobile game named Assassin’s Creed: Bloodsail, an upcoming 3D action RPG for the Chinese market. Cooperatively developed by Ubisoft China and VGame Studios, the game is inspired by Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and is set in the Golden Age of Piracy.   



Recently Ubisoft hold a special LAN media test event, showing the first image of this hotly-anticipated mobile game. According to Gamersky, one of the media that attended to the event, Assassin's Creed Bloodsail features 2 main story dungeons, bunch of side quests and also the runner game element. In order to create the best experience for Assassin's Creed’s fans, the studio also adopts many iconic features from the Assassin’s Creed PC and console and optimizes them for modern mobile devices, including Assassination System, Leap of Faith, Eagle Vision, Secondary Weapans and more.




Assassin's Creed Bloodsail is scheduled for release in 2017 with open beta starting in March 2017 in China.

Chinese leading game company NetEase is going to launch several high quality mobile games in the next months. Eternal Civilization (永恒文明 in Chinese) is the one I want to share with you today. As an MMOARPG, the game client of Eternal Civilization is only 300MB so most of the mobile devices can run the game smoothly. Eternal Civilization features 6 civilizations and players will play as those legendary heroes, fighting again each other in arenas.



PC-level graphics

Powered by self developed NEOX2.0 engine, Eternal Civilization adopts lots of graphics technologies from PC games such as Physically Based Rendering. The Dev team uses the real-time photo-realistic rendering to show exquisite pictures. In the meanwhile, it introduces the global illumination technology, special effects and dynamic weather.
 

A game for PvP fans

There's a special leveling way for PvP fans. Players can level up their characters with the oceans of rewards they get by participating in the 3v3 PvP, 15v15 PvP, 10 man survival mode and a special brawler arena that supports up to 20 players for individual victory.
