Korean action MMORPG Lost Ark gets a lot of hype as it moves towards closed beta. While the game won't be accessible for most players in NA and EU, it has some gorgeous wallpapers that western players can have right away.

You can click the images below to access the original size in 2560×1600 resolution.

See the rest wallpapers at the next page.

The game is the most hyped MMO in the market currently, with hack-and-slash combat, dynamic and interactive open world, large-scale siege, and cinematic dungeons, etc. At a recent press conference, the developer Smilegate announced to upgrade the engine to Unreal Engine 4 and will implement DX11 support in the future.

Nerd Creates Tracer, D.Va, Widowmaker in Erotic VR Game and Make Them Dance

You may have never heard of Custom Maid 3D 2, the Japanese erotic game that can be played with VR headset. VR is not what the game really sells for but the freedom that lets you create and customize a virtual maid that you can later have sex with. You can see in the video below how it looks it to play the game with HTC Vive (it's SFW).

Apparently nerds are not satisfied with what the game's customization options can offer, and they are using mods to make the virtual girls. A Russian nerd just did something sweet. He made a mod that featured Overwatch's iconic characters Tracer, D.Va and Widowmaker. They can dance, and of course, they can have sex with you. Watch the videos below (it's SFW, too).

MU Legend Will Reach its Fans with Improved Graphics

Webzen seems to care a lot about the players feedback. MU Legend, Webzen's hack & slash MMORPG was submitted to the first closed beta test phase back in April. During the first Closed Beta test, one player stated that MU Legend "looks like a mobile game".  Based on this "constructive feedback" the Korean developer will focus on improving the game graphics. Crafted using Unreal Engine 3, it seems that the game has "space" for further improvements. The second Closed Beta test will start on September 1st and Webzen is working on balancing the existing classes without adding new ones. New dungeons, a new Relic system and partial guild functions have been prepared for players who will join the Closed Beta 2. The Open Beta phase is scheduled for December, along with a companion mobile app. A global release of MU Legend is on Webzen's agenda.

Zenimax, the American game developer, has filed an amended complaint against Oculus in a lawsuit that started in May 2014. The initial lawsuit alleges that the the technology used to create the VR device was stolen from Zenimax. Now, the amended complaint points towards the id Software co-founder and Oculus' current chief technology officer John Carmack.

"Instead of complying with his contract, during his last days at ZeniMax, he copied thousands of documents from a computer at ZeniMax to a USB storage device," the amended filing alleges.

"He never returned those files or all copies of them after his employment with ZeniMax was terminated.
In addition, after Carmack's employment with ZeniMax was terminated, he returned to ZeniMax's premises to take a customized tool for developing VR Technology belonging to ZeniMax that itself is part of ZeniMax's VR technology." The amended complaint also states that Palmer Luckey, co-founder of Oculus is not the inventor of VR and that Facebook purchased Oculus after being provided documentation of the alleged theft.

MapleStory 2: Watch the New Cold-Hearted Supportive Class Soulbinder in Action

I don't know why MapleStory 2 is still not coming to the western market. The game has already had a lot of content as the game has been in open beta in South Korea for over a year and still gets new content in a fast pace. The publisher Nexon implements another new class SoulBinder to the game and offers a glimpse at her combat ability.

SoulBinder is a girl who loses her memory. She looks cold-hearted with her blue outfit and the ability to float in mid-air. SoulBinder is actually a supporter in the party although she shows more of her damage power in the video.

Dark and Light Unveils Details of Progression Systems and 3 Playable Races

0

We have kept an eye on Dark and Light (DnL) for a long time since its announcement at ChinaJoy 2016. For some unknown reasons, Snail Game hasn’t leaked too much detail about the upcoming sandbox MMORPG. We can only get pieces of information from DnL Community Q&A. Horsejoke, the Associate Producer with Snail Games USA, shared some details about progression systems and 3 playable races.

In the previous article, we have already introduced that the progression systems will be a mix of vertical and horizontal progression. Now we know that players will be able to assign the attribute points and skill points as they level up so DnL is technically classless. Horsejoke listed several examples:
Attributes include Stamina, Health, Resistance, and Weight Limit. Focusing on these attributes would help a player develop as more of an explorer and builder due to their improved survivability, while another player may choose to improve the Strength and Speed if they plan on joining the front lines in PvP / PvE. As for skills, players will invest skill points into their choice of skill trees as they level up. These skill trees will cover various important survival skills such as building, toolmaking, exploration, offensive magic, and more. Players can choose to either specialize by investing heavily into individual skill trees to unlock the highest-tier skills, or they can become a jack of all trades (and master of none!) if they prefer to play solo.

Check the next page for more details about 3 playable races.

Escape From Tarkov: The Game Won't End Even After You Escape from Tarkov

0
0

Escape From Tarkov is a visually amazing MMOFPS stresses on realism and mid-core & hardcore gameplay. The game has a story that tells how you escape the Russian city of Tarkov with your friends. In a recent interview, the developer Battlestate Games' COO and Lead Game Designer Nikita Buyanov confirms that there will be other contents to play even you escape from Tarkov.

Buyanov says:

Paradoxically as it sounds, no good game nowadays ends with an end-game—there is always something to do, skills to hone, side quests to undertake, secret areas to explore. After escaping from Tarkov, you are free to return to the cleared raids for more exploration and quests, not to mention DLCs.

It won't be easy to escape, of course. You'll need to complete quests, trade with other players for necessary supplies, upgrade your skills in order to defeat difficult enemies, and survive in raids, etc. I can expect it will be a long journey similar to a 3A MMORPG. What's more, the hardcore aspect of the game will make you lose your loot upon death. Speaking of loot drop upon death, Buyanov says that you can retrieve your loot in several ways.

The game offers several means of mitigating these losses. First, if the character had a certain item at the moment of death (a radio distress beacon or a flare), it can automatically activate on his death, either summoning his comrades to the server (in a very limited number) or allowing player to reconnect as Scav to try and redeem the lost items.

Second, there will be insurance, but not in the form of cash (this method is susceptible to insurance frauds), but in the form of items themselves if they were not already looted from the body; for instance, if your body is prostrated in some hard-to-access or hard-to-notice place, or you have died shortly before the raid end, chances are your insured items will get back to you.

You can read the full interview at gamerevolution.com to learn more about the game.

Escape From Tarkov will be buy-to-play and release in 2016 for PC. The game is now available for pre-order at the official site.

Pokémon GO is currently in the process of being updated to version 0.35.0 on Android and 1.5.0 on iOS devices. The highlight feature of this update is the addition of the Pokémon appraisal system. This new feature allows players to call upon their leaders (Candela, Blanche and Spark) in order to give them hints about the attack and defense capabilities of their Pokémons.

This way trainers will be able to determine which one is the strongest and ready for battle. Some minor bot fixes and improvements will also be made as part of this update.

According to Tencent’s Q2 2016 and interim financial report released recently, the operating profit for Q2 2016 was USD2,161 million, an increase of 43% over the first year of 2015 (“YoY”).

Tencent has nailed the $8.6 billion Supercell acquisition in June, expanding the upstream presence in the global gaming market and bringing it closer to hundreds of millions of gamers globally. Supercell’s founding team will continue to manage the company independently, enhancing their existing games and developing new games, and leveraging Tencent’s platforms and expertise to expand in China.

Lost Ark Chinese Publisher is Tencent

For PC games, Tencent generated high single digit YoY revenue growth, with increased contributions from existing titles in genres such as sports, music, and action RPG, as well as from newer titles in genres such as RPG and shooter. For mobile games, Tencent achieved approximately RMB9.6 billion revenue in Q2 2016, representing 114% YoY revenue growth, with increased contributions from its major PvP titles, as well as new RPG titles.

Bungie Shot Down Destiny Free-to-Play Rumor; Free Trial Is Possible Though

0
0

In response to the Destiny community's discussion of the free-to-play transition rumor, Bungie has made an official announcement, stating that the game may offer a free trial in some digital console marketplaces, but it won't go free-to-play like many players speculate. You can read the full announcement below.

The original Destiny adventure may appear to be free on some digital console marketplaces.

While players may download the Destiny base game, they will only be granted access to the Destiny Trial Mode for free. If players wish to progress through the original Destiny adventure via digital download, they will be required to purchase Destiny – The Collection to gain access to this content.

Destiny is a multiplayer console shooter with MMO features. The game is going to release its 2nd major expansion Rise of Iron this September. On the other hand, the sequel Destiny 2 is also in development. I'd wish to see Destiny going free-to-play sometime before Destiny 2 comes out.

Mythica VR Wants to Let You Explore Dungeons in The Elder Scrolls Style in VR

0
0
Think about you can do the awesome actions like shooting an arrow or stabbing to a skeleton mob in the Elder Scrolls / D&D style dungeons with friends, by wearing VR headset and holding a VR controller. Mythica VR, the game from Arrowstorm Entertainment, is trying to offer that experience. The game has launched Kickstarter campaign, looking to raise $80,000 in one month.

The game is about to let you feel you are actually blocking an attack from mobs, and you are really swinging a sword in your very own style. See the images below.

Create your character, then join with your friends, or get matched with other players at the same experience level as your character, and play a quest together. A quest may be a one-off or may be part of a larger campaign that you can work through, slowly leveling up your character so that you can take on harder and harder quests.

The developer says:

There is a hugely important element missing from current virtual reality role playing options, however, and that is your party, your questing buddies, your ka-tet. It's a lonely world without them, and when you're being overwhelmed by a horde of undead skeletons and you hear the battle cry of your friend as he hacks his way in and saves you, you know there is no going without them.

Mythica VR aims at PC and mobile platform, with support to HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Google Cardboard compatible headset, and even Google Daydream. You can learn more about the game at its Kickstarter page.

Clash Royale: A New Off-Meta Pure Siege Invention for X-Bowler Deck

0
0
Hey guys, today we have Bellator_Gaius here to share his new off-meta pure siege invention: X-Bowler deck with us. This deck uses two unconventional cards, X-Bow and Bowler, and managed to hit into the Top 4 of SMC.

DECK STRUCTURE

SLOT [1]: X-Bow

This slot is the [win-condition] slot, and in many cases the only win-condition in this deck. You are relying on X-Bow to shoot down the tower, and in many cases, you only need 1 or 2 X-Bows to win the game. Exploiting holes in the opponent's deck cycle or elixir cycle is critical. X-Bow is an easy card to counter, especially with a meta of Giant being dominant. Playing such that your opponent cannot align their deck cycle against yours is so important when you're facing a good player.

SLOT [2]: Bowler

This slot is the [primary support] and [primary defense] slot. Bowler excels in a ground-based meta where cheap ground troops swarm all over the place. It stops deadly pushes such as the Trifecta, hog/Mini-P, hog/spirits, hog/gob, Mini-P spirits, Giant/support with ease given the right timing and the right positioning. In my opinion the key to using this card is to turn it from a sturdy defense that can't be eliminated with Poison or Fireball into an excellent support for the X-Bow

SLOT [3]: Ice Wizard / Princess

This slot is the [secondary support] and [secondary defense] slot. You probably cannot replace either legendary with anything else. This support aims to assist the Bowler by covering its weakness: air and directional-staggered troops.

SLOT [4]: Mini Pekka / Barbarians

This slot is the [DPS] slot. You'll want to use it as the main component against a tank (Miner, Giant, RG, hog), but you're unlikely going to get it to the tower.

SLOT [5]: Guards

This slot is the [distraction] slot. It is the counter to the best counter against X-Bow and Bowler in a neutral scenario: Mini Pekka.

SLOT [6]: Pick one of:

Cannon or Tesla

Other option in Slot [3]

Fire Spirits or Ice Spirit

This slot can either be the [lure] slot or an additional [secondary support] and [secondary defense] slot. If you opt to use a [lure] slot, your defense will be sturdier and you can also use the [lure] slot as an additional protection for the X-Bow. If you opt to use another [secondary support] / [secondary defense] slot, you'll have less time against pushes but will be able to cover the X-Bow and Bowler's weaknesses a bit more, especially against Minion Horde.

SLOT [7]: Pick one of:

Elixir Collector

Arrows or Fireball

This slot is either the [momentum] slot, to generate momentum advantage through elixir and momentum staggering, or the [secondary spell] slot aimed at assisting the X-Bowler combination.

SLOT [8]: Zap / Arrows

This slot is the [primary spell] slot aimed at eliminating cheap swarms. If you are lacking a powerful MH counter in all other slots, Arrows will cover the weakness effectively.

DECKLIST

Woody's X-Bowler deck (created by Turtwig)

Turtwig's X-Bowler deck

My X-Bowler deck

STRATEGY

X-Bowler is an important invention because it has essentially redefined what is meant by siege.

My previous comments on what is meant by "pure siege" decks:

They primarily rely on chipping away the tower's health continuously with the use of siege cards while turtling the whole way throughout the match. Unlike [burn] decks, a bad intuition and feel for the current momentum isn't a death sentence to a [pure siege] deck. These decks rely more on mechanical plays.
However, with the advent of X-Bowler, we see very clearly that pure siege is no longer a deck archetype to be played trivially by plopping down defenses at the bridge and scrambling to defend it with the cards in hands. X-Bowler is so successful because you are investing into the future with Bowler. Very few old-school siege decks do this. By plopping down the Bowler at the back, you are capable of creating a 15/16 elixir (X-Bowler + IW/P/Mini-P) siege threat at the bridge, compared to the usual 11/12 if you had just dropped the mortar on the bridge and plopped down a few defenses and cheap troops around it.

This is so successful because the new pure siege now combines the power and advantages of tank-beatdown decks and the old advantages of pure siege decks.

X-Bowler is a deck that does not solely rely on siege mechanical plays but also relies on momentum, on manipulating the enemy's deck cycle to throw them off yours, and on generating momentum advantage to build a winning siege threat. Previously, siege is all about throwing down mortars at the bridge and protecting it reactively. Now you're a building a SIEGE PUSH by placing a Bowler from the back. This is completely new territory. /u/TurtwigData might figuratively be the scientist who stumbled upon a new chemical.

What makes this sort of interaction make sense is from Bowlers being able to punish ground pushes by stalling. The longer you stall with Bowler, the more momentum advantage you are generating for your push. After all, you can drop your X-Bow at any time. The more elixir they dump into a push that you can defend with Bowler and other cards, the more elixir you have for your siege-push because when defending, the Bowler is uniquely capable of stalling as much time as possible due to knockback. Your defensive troops will stay on your home field longer, a classic characteristic of pure siege decks where the enemy finds it difficult to touch your elixir on your end.

Once you drop the X-Bow, the Bowler will continue providing pushbacks to common counters to X-Bow: Barbarians, Mini Pekka, Miner. This pushback delays the counter, giving your X-Bow and secondary defensive troops more time to eliminate the counter. More importantly, it can potentially retarget counters away from the X-Bow. You might not have enough elixir to place Guards against the Mini Pekka initially, and the Mini P lands a shot on the Bowler, but after the Bowler pushes back the Mini P, and you place the Guards late, the Mini P will retarget onto the Guards.

Against decks with Lava Hound and air, you are on a race against time. You want to finish off the tower as soon as possible. Lava Hound can't tank X-Bow shots which means LH decks aren't actually as good as you think against X-Bow. It also does very little damage against X-Bow. Despite X-Bowler's low anti-air it is not weak to classic air assaults.

What it is most weak to, however, is the Giant.

The easiest way to defeat X-Bowler is ironically to turtle up yourself. Use Giant to tank X-Bow shots from as far as possible and grind down their tower with Poison, while making sure to pressure as much as possible and deal chip damage with Miner/Princess/Poison. Be relentless and make sure not to let them throw off your deck cycle (do not throw your Giant unless you see an X-Bow) no matter how hard they try to stall the cycle. There may come a point where you have Giant / Zap / Poison / Mini Pekka, and playing any of these don't make sense. Regardless, you should never, never, dump your Giant before you see an X-Bow, that's how they want to manipulate your deck cycle and force your giant out. Even playing Zap on the tower for no reason is better than playing Giant.

As an X-Bowler player, once you see a Giant, you'll want to keep the momentum in your mind the entire game. You will want to stagger around cards and timings such that when you play an X-Bow, they don't have their Giant in hand. This is critical because once they see your first X-Bow, they can counter the second easily with Giant if they know what they have to do.

I'm not very sure on how this deck matches up against a good RG player. You'll find none of those on the ladder, and it is usually pretty easy to eliminate their RG without even bothering to throw off their cycle due to its low HP. I'd imagine RG + reactive Guards (against Mini-P) would do very well against X-Bow, making certain the Guards aren't targeted by Bowler.

The rest of the deck revolves around the classic back-and-forth plays we know so well. Princess + Zap against Minion Horde, Mini P against Hog, etc. It is the X-Bow + Bowler combination that is particularly synergistic and powerful in this deck. Utilize it well and you will see the fruits.

Check the gameplay video below and learn more tips about the insane x-bowler deck.

Clash Royale: The Most OP Double Prince + Pekka Deck after August Update

0
0
Hey guys, today I am going to share the most OP deck which will be alive after the August update. As we reported before Dark Prince, Prince and Pekka will get a buff in the upcoming update, so I think it’s the time that we bring back Double Prince + Pekka deck.

Note
Dark Prince: Damage increased by 7.5%
Prince: Damage increased by 2%
P.E.K.K.A: Damage increased by 5%
Miner: Deploy Time increased to 1sec (from 0.7sec), Hitpoints decreased by 6%

My Deck

Replacement
If you don't have so many epic cards or legendary card,  you can replace them according to the following options.

Dark Prince – Valkyrie
Prince – Bowler/Mini Pekka
Ice Wizard – Barbarians/Goblins
Ice Spirit – Freeze/Poison
Zap – Arrows/Fireball
Princess – Archers/Spear Goblins/Minion Horde (Note: Princess’ area damage decreased by 25%, while Archers’ increased by 2%)

Actually the core of this deck lies in Elixir Collector. Without pumps, we cannot build up the most offensive push with double prince + pekka + ice wizard + princess during the double elixir time. And it would be easy for your opponent to take down you pekka + dark prince + ice wizard combo separately. And with the rising of Miner deck, the usage rate of elixir collector decreased, so we can hardly see this deck for a long time.

Battle Strategy
In the beginning, if your opponent doesn’t make offensive pushes, you should drop down as many pumps as possible to build up elixir advantage. Dark Prince can be used for defence. In the first 2 minutes, you should focus on defense and maybe several small pushes with Prince. During double elixir time, put down pekka behind the king Tower, and when it is about to cross the bridge drop double prince behind pekka.

On Offense
Dark Prince + Pekka + Prince + Ice Wizard + Princess
Pekka + Ice Spirit + Zap
Sneaky double lane push: Pekka + Princess and Double Prince

On Defense
Hog Rider/Golem/Giant push – Ice Wizard + Ice Spirit
Spawner Deck/Minion Horde – Princess
Royal Giant – Pekka + Ice Spirit/Zap
Three Musketeer – Dark Prince + Zap + Ice Spirit

Legion, the sixth World of Wacraft expansion is days away from reaching its fans. Players can  now "taste" the World of Warcraft: Legion pre-expansion experience, which contains new quests involving Dalaran, the Council of Six, Jaina Proudmoore, Magni Bronzebeard and Khadgar. With the invasion of Azeroth underway, players can expect:
- all current level-98 characters will receive a quest to go to the Broken Shore, right on the front lines of the Legion's assault.
- all characters level 10 and higher can take part into the resistance that will defend Azeroth against the Demon invasion.
After you complete the Demon Hunter experience you can join your allies and defend Azeroth against the invading Burning Legion.

As you might know, not every part of Legion's expansion would be available on its release date, August 30th. Based on this fact, Blizzard revealed the Legion dungeons and raids release schedule:
- Tuesday, August 30–When Legion is live, dungeons will immediately be available on Normal and Heroic difficulties. Mythic dungeon difficulty will be available after the weekly dungeon reset time.
- Tuesday, September 20–The Emerald Nightmare Raid dungeon opens on Normal and Heroic difficulties. Mythic Keystones will begin dropping which will allow increased challenge and rewards from Mythic dungeons.
- Tuesday, September 27–Mythic difficulty for the Emerald Nightmare Raid dungeon opens. The first wing of Raid Finder difficulty for Emerald Nightmare opens.
- Tuesday, October 11–Raid Finder Wing 2 of Emerald Nightmare opens.
- Tuesday, October 25–Raid Finder Wing 3 of Emerald Nightmare opens.
Apparently, Blizzard has a weakness for Tuesday.
In other news, the Blizzard's servers were recently under another DDoS attack. This is the third attack over
Blizzard’s Battle.net servers since May.

Project Caravan: a Cross-Platform MMORPG for JRPG Fans

0
0

Aiming, Tokyo-based game developer, announced that a new cross-platform MMORPG called Project Caravan will be available for PC and Mobile, using the same sever. Players can expect to log in the game with the same account no matter playing indoors or outdoors.

According to the official announcement, there will have a 500 square meter map for players to explore. Besides harbor city and valley town, players will be able to enjoy SNS gameplay and various PK modes. Like most MMORPGs, Project Caravan will offer different dungeons and siege battles to players.

As a cross-platform MMORPGs, it needs to be compatible with PC and mobile at the same time. Therefore, the developer pays more attention to its graphics, trying to make players immersed in the excellent actions. What’s more, the mobile version will be equipped with auto-play mode.

Like most mobile RPGs, players can build up their own team with 6 heroes. There will be 6 playable races, including humans, elves, orcs, dwarves and so on. Each race will have 20 -30 collectable characters. Players need to complete different quests to recruit heroes. Characters’ appearance will be changed when they evolve.

Also, there will be a day/night cycle which will affect monster spawn. Players have a certain chance to recruit a monster after beating them up. Just like the collectable heroes, these monsters can be evolved as well.
