MU Ignition - a Web Game That Will See the Light of Our PC's Soon

MU Ignition is an upcoming web game unveiled by Webzen. This PC browser game was announced for the first time during the Webzen Media Day, back in March, 2016. 37 Games, a Chinese game developer that focuses on web games and mobile gaming operators, will be in charge for developing the game.

he official teaser site of this upcoming game was launched (currently not working). A teaser video reveals some of the game's character classes engaging in fearless battles. The game reflects the worldview and the massive content known by the majority of MU Online users. Apparently, the game will see the light of our PC's next month, in September. Enjoy the trailer!

Clash Royale: Best Golem + Wizard Deck and Strategy for Arena 6-7

The Golem is one of the strongest cards out there, however using this card in a deck among other cards that can complete the golem is a little tricky. This article is also based on one of Ash’s Golem decks, so you can be rest assured that this deck has a high success rate and is capable of giving you those victories.
 
This battle strategy can be used in Arena 6 or 7.
 
Battle Deck:
 
Spear Goblins + Golem + Archers + Fireball + Wizard + Elixer Collector + Minion Horde + Goblins
 
Use and role of each card:

1.Spear Goblins:

The role of the spear gobins are similar to what I had stated in my previous article which is to help you in countering those flying troops. Although the spear goblins are low on hit points,they can still look to cause some damage to the flying units. You can also look to distract these units by placing them considerably away from your tower. However,it is important to realise that in this deck you can also use the help of the archers to take out those flying units. The spear goblins along with the archers can take them out at a quicker pace.

2.Golem:

The Golem in this deck is your key card and therefore you must relaise what the golem is capable of. First off the golem is not the perfect card, it has weaknesses and threats too. Some of these weaknesses or threats include the fact that the golem has an elixercount of 8. For this reason, your complementing cards will have to have a low elixer count and average less than 4.5 in total.
 
Apart from this, the Golem is also weak against troops like the barbarians,minion horde, the inferno tower, the mini pekka and the pekka. In order to counter this weakness, you can see that ash has strategically made a deck where in each card counters one card or the other which can be seen as an eminent threat to the golem. Every card in this deck is capable of allowing the golem in your deck to get to the other side and cause sufficient damage, so complement the golem well and victory is yours.

3.Archers:

The archers are one of those cards which are extremely vital and helpful to your deck as they are both cheap and effiecient. As I stated before when you send out with the spear goblins along with the archers, you can take out those flying troops quickly. Apart from the are also helpful in in taking range shots at the troops which may seem to take out the towers.

4.Fireball:

The Fireball is that one card which will give you the luxury of taking out the opponents troops in quick time. It is in this deck for a defensive purpose.
 
You may take out the barabarians or even the minion horde in an instant with the fireball. Place your fireball carrectly and the defending will fall right into place.

5.Wizard:

The wizard is in this deck to complement the golem. You may send him right behind the golem in order to defend the golem from threats like the horde or barbarians or you may simply put him out there when your tower is under threat by those troops.
 
The Wizard gives you the extra option of taking golem threats with other option being the fireball.

6.Elixer Collector:

This game focuses a lot upon elixer advantage and the person with the elixer advantage almost always wins!
 
You can use the elixer collector for this purpose and get the added advantage in the middle of the battle. The collector is a great tool to create some pressure on your opponent and can also be used as adistraction for defensive purposes.

7.Minion Horde:

The minion horde is one of those troops which can quickly turn the match in your favour. You may use the horde against heavy troops like the prince, barbarians, pekka or even the golem itself.
 
The horde is however vulnerable against the arrows so you will want to use the horde once your opponent has finished using the arrows at his disposal.

8.Goblins:

The goblins are extremely effective in taking out those heavy troops capable of destroying your towers.  Whats more is that the goblins also complement the golem by taking out the inferno tower easily. The goblins are also often used against the goblins itself. When minion horde is often countered with arrows, you can immediately send the goblins as backup.
 
The goblins on the whole are cheap, effective and fit right into the deck!
 
Battle Strategy:
 
Offensive: Golem + Wizard
 
The golem may be sent out with almost any troop complementing it in the deck. However, when the golem is accompanied with the wizard most of the counter cards that your opponent may use is taken out of the picture. The golem will soak up the damage while the wizard does the damage.
 
Defensive: goblins, spear goblins, archers.
 
When it comes to defending these small elixer troops are extremely effective. Use them wisely and at the right time. They are effective against a number of troops like the prince,pekka,golem etc,
 
 

TIPS:
1.It is not very wise to use your elixer collector straight away.You use in between the battle to help your golem.
2.Attack one lane while carefully defending the other.
3.As it is a combination strategy remember to use each card to supplement the other.
3.Use your final sixty seconds wisely,don’t let your opponent rush you and make sure your inferno tower is ready for the attack.
4.Send in your spear goblins considerably away from the target.
5.Watching videos and understanding the role and the weaknesses of every card in your deck will greatly help you.

Age of Wushu 2's Survival Gameplay Features Detailed by Snail Games

Today Snail Games detailed the survival elements in the upcoming Unreal Engine 4 sandbox MMO Age of Wushu 2. Just as many people expect, food, water, and weather condition will affect your character's physical function. Besides, the game has a food chain for all wildlives.
 
Weather conditions


Bad weathers such as severe cold will make your character gradually lose his hearth point and even kill him. To survive in the extremely cold weather, you need to start a bonfire or wear heavy coats. Other weather conditions such as fog will affect your view distance as well as NPCs'. Rain, on the other hand, will be a perfect condition for you to learn some particular martial arts.
 
What's more, if you want to study and practice venom and poison, swamp is the good place to go, and if you are learning feminine style martial arts, the cold caves would be perfect locations. Snail Games also said that studying martial arts in the day and the night could also get you different outcome.
 

Food and water

Food and water will be required to survive. There are many ways to get food (trading, hunting, cooking, etc.) but there not that easy to get water especially in the desert area. The game is the first martial arts MMORPG with survival elements. It's interesting to see how Snail Games is going to balance the martial arts experience and the survival experience.

The Russia Exclusive and Licensed Halo Online Is Officially Cancelled

Back in March 2015 we reported a Halo MMO was being developed by Saber Interactive and Innova Systems. The game was licensed by 343 Industry and it started closed beta in Russia last March. However, things didn't go well for the game, and I don't know too many inside stories but I know the game was just confirmed to shut down and cease the development.
 
Halo Online
Report said that Saber Interactive closed beta server in last December to fix the game issues, but no words from the developer since then. The cancel was revealed by a member in the dev team via the Russian social network VKontakte. He expressed the disappointment of what had happened to the project and accused of the poor team management.



It seemed that Microsoft and 343 Industry didn't think the project could have a future and they had avoided talking about this project since March 2015. If you are interested in what the game is like, read the official Q&A below.

Duelyst Interview: You Can Expect to Manipulate Enemy's AI in The New Expansion

Duelyst
’s first full expansion, Denizens of Shim’zar, will be available on August 30. In this upcoming update, 105 brand cards (including tribal cards and battle pets) will be introduced to the game. 2P have the chance to have a chat with the Counterplay Games team to discuss all the new content.
 


1. What the design direction of the new expansion?
 
The goal of the new set is to continue expanding the variety of playable archetypes in Duelyst, especially lesser archetypes that didn’t get the support from the Core Set to be truly viable.
 
Ramp Abyssian, Grow Magmar, Vanar Vespyrs, and Mechaz0r are all examples of underplayed archetypes that have garnered popularity in the past that we want to support for this expansion.
 
2. What the impact will the new cards bring the existing races and decks?
 
The goal of the new cards is to continue expanding the variety of playable archetypes in Duelyst. This is accomplished by introducing cards that support diverse play styles as well as balancing older cards to expand the design space.
 
 

3. Is there any new mechanics we can see in the new expansion?
 
Battle Pets are a new tribal card. They act independently at the start of each turn in a predictable deterministic way. So if your opponent plays a Battle Pet card, you can place your units in such a way as to manipulate the enemy's AI favorably for you. Battle Pets are only a small percentage of the entire Shim'zar set.

4. What will Counterplay Games do to balance every hero in new patch?
 
There will be no balance changes to the 12 Generals and their respective Bloodborn Spells. However, there will be balance changes to core faction mechanics such as Shadow Creep as part of this new expansion.  
 


5. What’s the new expansion frequency of the Duelyst?
 
Our goal is to release a new expansion of cards, ranging from 40-100 new cards, every 3-4 months.

6. Will Counterplay Games add adventure mode to the game? And also release some video shorts to tell gamers more about the background story?
 
We’re planning to implement an additional single player mode in the future. Our fans have already released a few video shorts covering our expansive lore, but you can always check out our visual storybook in-game in the Codex section with full voice over narration.
 
7. Many gamers are not very happy with selling Frostfire emote. What are Counterplay Games’ strategies on in-game store?
 
Unlike most other free-to-play games, all our cosmetics can be crafted for Spirit, which means you can target and acquire any item in our game. We want our players to be able to acquire any item in our in-game store by targeting.
 
8. When can we play Duelyst on mobile devices?

With Duelyst released on Steam on August 23rd, our top platform priority is mobile. Our goal is to release for mobile for Q1 2017.

First of all, let me drive you all into the gear/skills:
 
With +15/+15 Armor/Magic Resist on Helm


With +134 Hitpoints on Helm


HEAD - Heavy Cloth Helm.
Spell choice - Emergency Heal
Passive choice - Increased armor/magic resist
Heal on helm is better than stoneskin for this build since it get the benefit of 50% increased healing of light plate chest and the 15% healing bonus of your shield making it 65% increased power self heal (At 8.3 epic chest, I heal 609 hitpoints). Stoneskin also cuts your damage for the duration, and thats something you really dont want with this build.
The Increased armor/magic resist is a must at earlie levels to compensate the light chest option. In endgame or when they fix Shields to have better armor, you can swap to hitpoints.
 
CHEST - Light Plate Chest
Spell choice - Blink
Light Plate Chest is the best for this build since you need to take the most of the high damage weapon heavy mana drain with the 60% increased damage. Any other armor will make you run out of mana before you kill your target. Another good thing is that this increases your helm healing power making it to heal huge numbers.
The spell choice in here is Blink because this build needs the mobility to go in and out as you wish. You are not squishy but sometimes you need that blink to finish off a running target/heal with vampiric strike.
 
BOOTS - Light Plate Boots
Spell choice - Refreshing Sprint
With light plate option, you have the best mobility in game since its a fast coldown sprint that allow you to chase people down and also lowers all your abilities timers allowing you to stack 3 rending strikes very fast, or recover that extra vampirc strike in 12s instead of 15s - increasing your damage, heal and mobility. For the passive, go 5% increased damage for sure.
 
SHIELD
Spell Choice - Fast-Healing Wounds (15% increased received healing)
Shields are nerfed at the moment but they are going to be buffed (you can see my legendary 7.4 shield has +26 armor only), wich means this build is getting even stronger in future patchs. But right now, it does ok with this build since the 15% increased received healing increases your Emergency Heal in your helm and your Vampiric Strike heal in your weapon.


WEAPON - Battleaxe
Spell on Q - Rending Strike - Does nice direct damage(200ish) and damage of time with low coldown and debuff received healing of your target in exchange of heavy mana usage.
Spell on W - Heavy Smash - Low coldown with armor debuff and heavy damage
Spell on E - Vampiric Strike - Your key ability. With 3 stacks of rending strike, it heals for 609 hitpoints on epic 7.4 plus very nice damage.


FINAL CONSIDERATIONS:
 
This build is very dps focused with high single target damage in low amount of time and low coldown timers. Its very effective to pick up light and medium armor users.
Besides of using light armor, dont get confused - you are still a nice tank (I managed to tank all Harrowdeep bosses without problem). You have 69% phys damage reduction and with 15% soup you have 3.3k hp plus 609 heal on your helm, plus 609 on your weapon every 15s (you do the math of how much hp you will end up with in a 15s pvp fight for exemple).
Blink also allow you to jump in and out of frontline in massive fights as well to chasedown running players.
Bleed from your rending strike counters invisibility.
You must be carefull vs iceblock players and try to avoid getting your vampiric or your heavy smash blocked by it
Retaliate on helm still hurts if you manage to hit your W on it, but since you self heal by a lot, sometimes I just ignore it and keep my damage per second taking advantage of target lowered armor.
Against archers/kiters, you must time your sprints/blink to be able to hit them - dont be afraid to use vampiric strike with only 1-2 charges.
If your going to duel in city, make sure to change your blink to Ice Block - no cursed staffs will win vs you (trust me - Ive dueled vs 6.6 curseds, 6.6 scythes, 6.6 glacial and had no problem at all even being 1-2 tiers below - UPDATE - JaGGer was the only cursed to really give me problems, but he had to run 50% spell dmg on helm and still had a tier of advantage in 6.6 chest piece - again, the duels were all close calls with me being able to even beat him a few times.
The weakspot for this build is the fame farming process because you burn too much of energy and you are single target. Your best bet is to solo the t8 elite áreas (yes, you can do it) and always walk around with energy drinks - even to mass pvp/gvg.

Not saying its best build in game but must alert that I never had problems in open world vs any bow user. You just need to time your Blink or Sprint to whenever you have QWE up.
 
Another thing: since your Sprint has very low CD, you probably will be able to get in range 3x at least wich is usually enought to finish up your target.
 
Also, poison sting does take a while to dmg 3.3k hp with 67% magic resistance and in mean while you probably will be able to hit the Helm heal twice (1.2k hp). Thats usually time to blink twice in your target and make like 3 maybe 4 sprints.
 
In duels, you will win vs bows ending in 100% hp most of the time.

Lost Ark Closed Beta Hands-on: The Combat Feels So Right

It's unnecessary to introduce what Lost Ark is, since there are so many articles about this game already (you can read them at the game hub). After 1 day's hack-and-slash experience, all I want to say is: the game still needs to be improved, but its combat is exactly what I am expecting for.

Character selection and customization are presented in simple interface and cool animations. It doesn't have a robust system like Black Desert and Blade & Soul have, and it doesn't really need that complication.
 

I picked a Fighter, a female kungfu master. If you don't know, each class has a unique starting area filled with unique quests to help you familiarize the basics of the game. Fighter is an eastern warrior so her starting area has the typical eastern style construction.
 
Achievement system

Similar to Diablo 3, right click the mouse button and you can move your character and left click the mouse button you can do normal attack, and by pressing space button you can dodge. Surprisingly, combos are already pretty smooth to play at beta phase, and a series of attacks consist of normal attacks and special abilities are hideously satisfied. Skill effects have to been mentioned — they are eye-catching but not exaggerated. All the flashy, explosive visuals don't require a monstrous PC to support, and a mid-end computer with a GTX 660 GPU will be enough to take care of the game at highest settings.

Again, Lost Ark has clear UI most Korean MMORPGs don't have. Take character panel as an example, in addition to character name, level, portrait and gear, you can only find attack, defense and an overall gear rate on the interface.
 

The game has standard starting quests, but thanks to the immersive world and fun combat, those quests aren't very boring. Some main quests come with cinematics, while some are too slow-paced. It's worth mentioning that each class will face a unique boss at the end of starting quest line. Hitting level 10 means the end of starting quest line, the time to choose a subclass, and the start of the real adventure.
 


Conclusion
 
I feel the actual graphics, especially the details aren't 100% the same as what are shown in the official trailer. It makes sense, however, since the game is just in closed beta. Besides, Smilegate has confirmed they will upgrade the game to Unreal Engine 4 so there will be no reason to worry about graphics downgrade.
 

Based on my experience in the starting area, I think the game has 3A quality. It won't be easy to do the end-game and business model for a Korean MMO. We still need to wait and see if the game is a genre changing MMORPG.

Action MMORPG Otherland Announces Open Beta and Launch Time

Otherland is not new MMO anymore but it's still in Steam Early Access. But soon the game will move to the next phase, the free to play Open Beta, which will start on August 30. The OBT will last one week and then the game will be officially launched in September

The game started Steam Early Access last September and it had been under development and polishment for the next 10 months. Finally, the game is about to open the door to every. If you already bought Otherland early access on Steam, you will get some items and goodies depending on the pack you own.


The action-packed online role-playing game has got several patches in recent weeks. The developer Drago Entertainment has revamped for example, the tutorials and starting experience. The performance has been improved as well, and a bunch of new quests are also added. Crafting system is expanded with hundreds new recipes. Now the dev is working diligently on improving the combat system, expecting to implement the first patch for combat soon.

Everything You Want to Know About Survarium, Interview with the Developers

Hello, Gamers


We recently had the pleasure of interviewing the developers of the MMO-online shooter Survarium. We spoke with Andriyash Kozlovsky, PR manager for Vostok Games. We talked about various stuff, including the game’s development, their future plans about the game, as well as other topics concerning the game and the gaming industry in general.

 
So, to start off, how would you describe Survarium to someone who never heard of it?

Andriyash K :  Survarium is an online shooter set in the near future after the ecological catastrophe on Earth. The game is available to download free of charge. All you need is to install the game client, create a game account and start playing.

If you need more information, you should watch this video tutorial (in English) about first steps in the world of Survarium. This video guide introduces the basic mechanics and gameplay elements of our game.

The game's been in development for several years and now which phase the game is in, early, middle, or nearly complete?

Andriyash K :  It’s hard to give a simple answer to that. As you know currently we’re finalizing our PvP mode. This said, we also announced Survarium will feature several play modes. And there we are only at the beginning of our path. So, I’d say we are about half-way so far.



What was the most challenging aspect in developing Survarium so far?

Andriyash K :  We started creating Survarium from scratch, including the game engine. Much has been accomplished already, but of course that’s not all. As for the challenging tasks, we’ve had plenty of those – designing the very up-to-date network technology to back the game has been THE challenge for a small team like ours! :)

What lessons have you learnt from those difficulties?

Andriyash K :  The challenges are fine, we know how to take the risk and are always ready to meet the challenges. Moving forward is key!
 
 
How does Survarium differentiate from the other F2P online shooters?

Andriyash K :  If comparing Survarium with other online games, firstly I’ll mention the player can die not only from an enemy bullet, but also when damaged by the deadly anomalies. Yet, the anomalous zones should not be avoided completely as it is there where you can obtain artifacts powering-up your character. A timely used artifact can shake the balance of battle in your favour.

The possibility to modify the characteristics of weapons and gear is another important feature of Survarium. For instance, the player can increase the rate of fire on his gun, install a modifier boosting his running speed on the boots, and health regeneration on the suit. The modification is available owing to spare parts the player can find by searching for loot after the match end.

And with the Survarium 0.40 update the system of weapon modules was introduced. Modules impact both the looks and characteristics of your guns. For example, a laser sight installed will decrease scatter of fire when firing from the hip, while vertical grip will lower the recoil.

Variety of the play modes already at the stage of PvP is yet another peculiarity of the game. By the way, some of those modes are unique and unseen in other games.

Stepping back from the discussion, let me mention we don’t favour the Pay2Win approach in games. We rather prefer to give players a fair choice. I believe this makes our game also stand out.
For example, you can buy a premium weapon or gear in Survarium shop, but these items will not give you extra power in battle. Yet, they will help to speed up the progress of your character, faster obtain access to more advanced equipment and armament, so as stand out from the rest of players due to unique looks. It’s also worth mentioning you can get weapons and gear as a dropping loot after the battle.

I could continue explaining the distinctive features of Survarium, but I’d rather have the players judge the game for themselves.



How was your budget for the game?

Andriyash K:  I’d say, the budget can never be big enoughJ. Seriously though, the budget is sufficient for us to deliver the PvP mode and keep going to integrate PvE elements into the game step by step.

Have you considered taking the route of crowdfunding? What is your reasoning behind your answer?

 Andriyash K :  Initially this was one of the options we considered. Though it was left behind. Mainly for the reason, to go out crowdfunding you are expected to demonstrate the elements of the future game in action, which at that time was impossible since Survarium was started from scratch including the engine. Therefore we decided to go out and look for an investor.
 
As we know Survarium is made by the same studio which released the popular STALKER series. What aspects of those series have you implemented into the game?

Andriyash K :  S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Survarium have been developed by different studios afterall, though same team. It turned out this way as S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 got frozen, so we had to look out for some new opportunities for the team.

Although sharing the same idea of postapocalypse, the two games differ a lot. Speaking of the postapocalypse, with Survarium we can show a broader scope as this time we are not limited by the borders of the Chernobyl exclusion zone. As the concept goes, in Survarium the catastrophe had a global scale. Therefore in the game you can see locations both from ex-USSR and the Western Europe, and most of the maps have their real-world prototypes, such as the Cologne bridge.



You have stated in the past that you will be adding a PVE map where players would be able to complete faction quests and fight one another. Can you give us a brief overview of what to expect?

Andriyash K :  Freeplay is a separate game mode that combines elements of the story, the conflict between players and survival in a hostile world. Players will be able to perform tasks for factions, participate in random events and explore the map in search of valuable items. In Freeplay, players only have one-life and death can come at every turn. One careless step and your character will return to the game lobby and all you’ve found will remain near your dead body.

There will be no time limit for gameplay in an area but there will be a limit on the number of players that can be in the location. We want to maintain an atmosphere of exploration and this is only possible when meeting with another player will be a rare event, not an ordinary situation. If one of the players dies or leaves the location, his or her place will be taken by a beginner. To leave the location the player must travel to one of the special locations which are located on the edge of the map where he will be asked if he wishes leave the map.

Freeplay mode, among other modes, gives the player the opportunity to develop his or her character, gaining experience, reputation and money for completing tasks and performing other actions.
In Freeplay mode, there are neither allies nor enemies. The relationship between players solely depends on the players themselves. Often players will get a competing task. For example: one player will have the quest to protect a camp and the other to destroy the camp.
 
Will there also be a main storyline quest?

Andriyash K :  The storyline missions in Survarium are one of the future features of the game. We plan to start integrating those with the introduction of the next play mode.

Should we expect to see mutants from STALKER games as mobs which players can kill for experience?

Andriyash K :  We would like to add them to the next game mode, but most likely not with the first iteration of it. We’d like to please the fans with some new monsters. So don’t expect those to be the same as in our previous games.

Do you have an estimated date about the PVE’s release?

Andriyash K :  I don’t have a specific ETA as yet. We are targeting to demonstrate something by the end of this year.

Will Survarium support mods when it officially releases? If so, what kind of mods will you allow?

Andriyash K :  We plan the game to support mods, but without affecting the balance of the game. For example, changes to the game's interface.



Do you plan any new PvP mode, like consider a human versus mutants mode? Besides, canweexpectlargerscalePvPbattle?

Andriyash K : The PvP standard was defined by us from the very beginning and has hardly changed much since then. As for the mutants, let’s leave the team fights to the real players.

There have been threads in Reddit and in Steam’s forum that are questioning whether the game’s business model is hurting the growth of the game itself?What is your view on that subject?

Andriyash K :  We disagree in this case. We guess this is a modern format of games with a number of advantages: adding content and the development process are easier, protection against piracy and developers directly communicate with the audience, which positively affects the development of the game.

What is your view on the current state of the video games’ industry?

Andriyash K : It’s amazing how fast the games industry has been developing for the last 10-12 years. Earlier none of us imagined we could play our old favorite PC hits on slim notepads, while mobs of people would start hunting pokemons in real life. I’m so curious to see what more could await us in future!

What games do you personally enjoy playing?

Andriyash K : My work requires me to play Survarium. I cannot say I do it without pleasureJ. As for other games, I’m a big fan of the Batman trilogy by the Rocksteady Studios.

Twin Saga Opens to Everyone for Free This Weekend

Aeria Games has announced a free beta weekend for anime MMORPG Twin Saga for the weekend. Starting on Saturday 27th at 3:00 am PDT you can bring your friends to the colorful world of Twin Saga. There will be multiple events hosted this Sunday. Read on to learn more.
 
On Saturday, the dev team will be in the game and play with you. On Sunday at 6:00 am PDT, there will be an event where you can PvP with the GM. At 11:00 am PDT, another event will make monsters spawn in Arcadia.
 
Everything will be wiped after the free beta weekend. You can expect to play the open beta soon.

Paragon Open Beta Review: Like Playing Poker. A Very Long Game of Poker.

Imagine yourself choosing your cards, expecting them to work, while you gaze at your opponent and try to figure out his hand... now apply that to a MOBA and add minutes. Lots of minutes. Pass the hour line.

Do that and you'll have an idea of How Paragon works.

In this article I'll give you an idea of the game, as well as my personal opinion after playing it for a week... but first, let's answer the obvious questions:

Paragon, made by Epic Games, is a MOBA (Three lanes, A jungle, towers, inhibitors and two cores. You know the type) whose main assets are his great graphics powered by Unreal Engine 4, third person camera view, and Card mechanic.

And you may ask, Card mechanic?

Well, for those who don't know, in Paragon instead of buying Items like in other MOBAs we have to build a Deck for our Hero. In this Deck we'll fit different kinds of cards the game has to offer, each classified by their affinity (Universal, Growth, Fury, Corruption, Order, Intellect) which heroes also share. We can place up to 40 cards, and they will appear in the match to be placed in our inventory. Furthermore, there are three kinds of cards: Consumables (Life potions, Mana potions...) , Equipment which have slots where we can fit Upgrades.





The last two are the important ones, as they'll be the key to our stat's improvement through the match. We can have up to 6 cards equipped at the same time, of which up to 4 can be Active cards (Meaning they have an ability that has to be manually used). In addition, every card has a cost that comes as Slots, of which we can acquire up to 60, and have to be earnt in the match by last hitting minions, killing players, Jungling, or placing and collecting Harvesters (Structures in the map which gives exp to the entire team).



Which lead us to the main characters in the game:

As I said above, each hero has their own affinity, which also means they can only equip cards in sync with their nature. Universal cards, on the other hand, can be equipped by all characters, and they are meant to be a "Jack of all trades" in the game... however, that also means Universal cards do not excel much in any field.



Right now, all Heroes are unlocked, being the deck we use with them what really matters. As we level up them and our account, we get reputation which is the in-game currency used to buy cards and Challenges.

And What are Challenges, Masterseek?

Good question my dear reader. As we level up a hero, we get rewards in a progression tree:



when we reach level 5, we can pay real money or In-game currency to unlock the additional five levels, which yields better rewards and also two skins (Challenger and Master skin) for our hero that will show just how much time have we played it.
 



And believe me... When you see a Master Grux ganking you out of nowhere...



How was the expression? PJ salt?

Anyway, It is not a great sensation...

And talking about sensations, I think is time for my personal feelings about the game:

First of all, Paragon has recently made it to the open beta, which is the same as to say that is expected to find flaws. Just a few days ago from when I wrote this article, the game got an update trying to fix one of its problems and introducing a new Hero.

With this in mind, I still have to say that as a MOBA, Paragon didn't strike me as fresh air. Yes, condemn me, but is as I felt it. The card mechanic is great, and one of the things I enjoyed the most during my time there. Their Graphics are also top notch, and incredibly well optimized (Potato pc here, I could play it at fairly high frame rate with graphics medium/high, and it looked amazing).



But the matches, in my opinion, apart from not telling me anything new, are tedious. In the recent patch, they lowered the towers life in order to shorten the time it takes to finish a game... and although It may have been our team fault for not doing things together, I've played matches pass the hour line without being able to end, even though at first we had an overwhelming advantage.

In fact, I've never been as relieved as I was when I lost that match. Call me conservative, but I think that's not what a PvP game should be about.

The main problem I see is that you reach end build way too fast in comparison to how the match develops, so all that you are left with is to end the game... which for some reason or another, it can't be done as fast as it should be. So instead you find yourself killing minions that will not give you anything besides the thrill to push a lane; getting jungle buff to try once again to get that tower down; to try to get the Orb Prime, which after killing the boss, has to be delivered before you get the buff... which the enemy team can just steal and deliver it themselves.



Sigh.

However, not everything is salty. The game has nice mechanics, which also made me crave for some high quality game (which with the time I've played it seems I wasn't able to get) where both teams know what to do.

In conclusion:

Epic games has the tools, the idea and the spirit. They know what they want and their player base is helping them to achieve it. The current state of the game doesn't fit my tastes, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try it and get an opinion for yourself.

Pokemon Go Claims First Victim in Japan

Pokemon Go
was released in Japan on July. A month later, the blockbuster smartphone game has been concerned about the potential for accidents on roads and on crowded train platforms. Weeks ago, Nintendo added a warning not to play Pokemon Go while driving, but it cannot stop crazy players.

Keiji Goo, a 39-year-old farmer, hit 2 female pedestrians on Tuesday evening when he was driving a small truck and failed to notice them crossing the road because he was playing the popular mobile game. The accident killed Sachiko Nakanishi, 72, and left Kayoko Ikawa, 60, badly injured. It was considered as Japan’s first fatality associated with Pokemon Go.


According to the National Police Agency, there were 1,140 cases of traffic law violations related to the game. And Pokemon Go-linked accidents happened in 29 prefectures. Of them, 22 resulted in injuries and 57 in property damage. 

Final Fantasy XIV: Update 3.4 Soul Surrender Launching September 27

In the recent stream Final Fantasy XIV producer Naoki Yoshida shared some information about the new Update 3.4 Soul Surrender.



What was revealed:
- Update 3.4 will be released on September 27. New story, side quests, and the final part of the Alexander raid will be added. Besides, there will be two new trial, and two new dungeons
- Xelphatol and Gubal hard version of the Great Library.
- The PvP gets various changes. There will be custom games, dueling system and spectator mode.
- The Grand Companies will receive a new rank (1st Lieutenant)
- The Gold Saucer also recieves changes.
- Houses apartments and aquariums. And orchestrion will be available to the playlist.
- Players using the controllers can see the new variations in hotbar
- The game will attend TGS 2016
- in patch 3.45 Palace of the Dead Deep Dungeon to get new floors (51 to 200). And the new Anima weapon quests will be added.






Project Genom: Sci-Fi MMORPG Steam Early Access Starts On October 12

The Steam Early Access of Project Genom will soon start on October 12. The developer NeuronHaze promises no "hidden purchases" in the game. As for gameplay, your progress will be solely dependent on your actions in the game and your decisions.


One of the special features of this MMO is that your your organs can be replaced if necessary. With medication or drugs you can improve the institutions or your mutate. Modifying with high technology is also possible. You have high freedom to develop your character.

Gameplay

The developer says that Project Genom is not a "typical MMORPG"  where you have to farm and kill mobs the whole day. There is a mature story line, difficult battles, RPG and hardcore gameplay. The team gets inspiration from games like Mass Effect, The Witcher, Deus Ex and Dead Space.



Lost Ark Dungeon Videos Look Beautiful in Visual and Fun in Mechanism

Lost Ark sells for the hack-and-slash combat experience, but in fact the game also features beautiful visuals, cool cinematics in dungeon, and interactive environment. However, the frequent cinematic could also break the fluency of a dungeon and make it not fun for replay and grind. Maybe you have noticed, I don't have too much air control. I only have Musketeer, Fire Spirits and Ice Spirit. What's more, I don’t have buildings to pull tankers. So if your opponent just keep pushing, and you do no damage to his/her Tower, then you cannot make the same mistake again. Most of the time, I prefer to star off with Giant + Guards + Musketeer.

Most of the time, we will have x-bow sole and barbarians are mainly used for protecting x-bow. As soon as we set the battle filed in the bridge, drop Lumberjack to take the advantage of Rage.

If you don't have so many epic cards or legendary cards,  you can replace them according to the following options.

Battle Strategy
In the beginning, if your opponent doesn’t make offensive pushes, you should drop down as many pumps as possible to build up elixir advantage. Dark Prince can be used for defence. In the first 2 minutes, you should focus on defense and maybe several small pushes with Prince. During double elixir time, put down pekka behind the king Tower, and when it is about to cross the bridge drop double prince behind pekka.
 
On Offense
Dark Prince + Pekka + Prince + Ice Wizard + Princess
Pekka + Ice Spirit + Zap
Sneaky double lane push: Pekka + Princess and Double Prince
 
On Defense

Battle Strategy
At the start of the match, you wait for the elixir to fill up, and then drop P.E.K.K.A behind King Tower so you can easily get back the elixirs you have consumed. Once the PEKKA starts moving, put down Witch/Musketeer behind him when he is near the bridge. He would obliterate any low HP units that your enemy will put out.
 
If the push goes on and the P.E.K.K.A still has more than half of his health. Deploy a Rage spell once he is locked in a tower. Given his damage per second, he can easily damage the tower significantly. Hopefully, the tower's health is down to 1/3.
 
The key to victory lies once the double elixir time starts. Before that, you can play defensively

Our main objective during the first few minutes is to put down as many Elixir Collectors as possible. Why should we create this building fast? The answer is simple. We need elixir supply for our Golem push.

Battle Strategy
In the beginning of the game, drop your Elixir Collector behind any of your crown towers as soon as your elixir hit 10 so that you have enough elixir to counter any move that your opponent will do. And when you have enough Elixir, drop Goblin Hut in the middle of your two arena towers.
 
In the middle part of the game, drop Golem with Witch follow behind and have Poison ready. Repeat the process and always make sure to have some spare elixir to counter any move of your opponent to wreck a tower of yours. In most cases, you can directly push a tower if no building cards are within the range that can distract your Golem.
 
Once the push has been done, this will be the deciding point wherein you will choose to aim for three crowns or just stick with the one crown victory technique.

Dark and Light: More Information on Monsters, Beasts, Combat, and More

Horsejoke, Associate Producer at Snail Games USA, has shed more lights on Dark and Light, the company’s upcoming sandbox MMORPG. Dragons will play a big part in this game, he says, and players can expect some variety from dragons.
 

There will be unique fantasy creatures, but they are unlike undead demon unicorns. They design priorities are focused on creating natural-feeling environments, horsejoke says.

There are other small details horsejoke talks about, such as most mobs are based on ragdoll, combat will be slower than other Snail Games titles, air-to-ground and ground-to-air combats, and progression is highly based on killing mobs, etc.
