Clash Royale: The Most OP Hog Lightning Deck for Arena 8-9

0
0
Hello all,

This is my first post here, I plan to write more guides in the near future.
Actually this is my 2nd guide here. My first Hog Cycle deck can be found here.
(under the name 'Swoopy'; but my real nickname is 'Foppe' or 'LouFoppe'...basicly, you can't go wrong with giving me a nickname, lol)
you will see for a part the same information but with a little twist to it.

So, I like the Hog Rider... a lot!
I have the most succes myself with this card in a rather quick cycle deck, ranging from 2.9 to 3.3 Average Elixir.

With the September update I took the Lightning Spell in my deck. A card I haven't used in a long time.
The Lightning got a slight buff in the 19/9 update, giving it a 0.5 sec stun effect, same as the Zap card.

My Deck

My card levels for this deck are 10/8/4/1, I pushed from 3200 to 3500 with it in 2 days time.
I used to be F2P but I bought the value pack with the new release.

Card Breakdown
Hog Rider: Your main offensive unit and primary win condition
Mini Pekka: Tank-killer, support card-killer, one of the best cards in current meta
Musketeer: Try to transition this card from defense -> offense. If you like slower pushes, start her in the back.
Fire Spirits: Goodbye to minion horde, minions, splash barbs or for pushing with hog/mini pekka
Ice Spirit: I like this card to perform a a pig push, for 1 elixir it offers insane value, comes in handy on defense aswell
Princess: Long-range (air) support, chip damage on tower. Also a card you can start a battle with, placing her in the back.
Zap: the best spell, soooo versatile
Lightning: The trick in this deck, more on it later

Replacements
Hog Rider: None, this is a Hog Rider deck.
Mini Pekka: You really need a high DPS unit to kill tanks but as cheap as possible. You could try LumberJack if you have it.
Musketeer: None, you will need this card vs Air decks. With the new Mega Minion comming out, I really advice keeping her in.
Fire Spirits: Goblins or Spear Goblins
Ice Spirit: Skeletons
Princess: Minions or Archers
Zap: Who doesn't like Zap? You can try Arrows if you really want.
Lightning: None

Battle Strategy

Defense
You notice the deck lacks a building. In this deck I count on the defense capabilities of mainly my mini pekka & musketeer and transition them to offense whenever possible.
The mini pekka is ideal at killing the big tanks (Giant/Royal Giant/Golem), hog riders and other bulky unitis.
The musketeer will help you to support your mini pekka in case the opponent pushes with rather big units(giant, royal giant, hog rider, mini pekka, valk, musketeer, wizard, ice wizard, bowler, Miner, ...)
Off course the Musketeer is also your main defense vs Lava Hound Decks and other Air Type decks.
When your opponent supports the tank with smaller units or multiple units like minions, minion horde, goblins, barbarians... I like to go Mini Pekka on the tank + Fire Spirits on small units, if needed I will buy myself some time using the ice Spirit aswell.
You can add in your princess for additional splash support when needed, this is mostly the case when your opponent runs barbs or has a hog rider deck with typical small units like goblins/spirits/skeletons/minions...

When your opponents push get's REALLY big, for example the Meta Giant pushes we see nowdays (Giant, Mini Pekka or Lumberjack, Musketeer, Guards, ...) don't hesitate to use your lightning spell.
This will result in a positive elixir trade.
Extra: This deck will also serve well if you have difficulties beating Sparky Decks.
You can reset Sparky with Zap, Ice spirit and Lighting Spell !
Say your opponents makes a Giant, Sparky, (Ice) wizard or sortlike push -> that lightning spell will come in very handy.

Personally I only use the Ligthning on defense when absolutely needed because I like to use this spell more as a *trick*.
Gaining a big advantage the first time I use it by suprise.
Offcourse each game and situation is different, so you can't allways save it as a trick pony.
So you shouldn't hold back on it when you see the right opportunity to use it early game.

Offense
Off course in a Hog Rider deck, this card will be your main offense.
This deck offers 2 good cards to perform small pushes: the Ice Spirit or the Fire Spirit.

note: If you aren't comfortable with performing pig pushes you will ike the Ice Spirit + Hog Rider push.
It's really very easy to perform: Drop the Ice spirit first, next drop your Hog Rider on the SAME tile.
They now will perform a pig push.

For a decent amount of your pushes you will have left-over troops from your defence, most likely a Musketeer and/or a Princess.
The Musketeer is a very good card to transition from defense -> offense so be sure to use this opportunity when given to you.

In my previous guide I have stressed on looking at the main counters your opponent uses. I will do this again because this is very important to know.
Barbarians and Minion horde you will encounter a lot so I will adress those 2 counter specificly.
You will get some nice opportunities with this deck to attack those counters.
For example: Vs Minion Horde -> Pair your hog rider with Fire Spirits for some nice result. Princess at the bridge to chip even more and counter small troops used as defense.
In case your opponent zaps your spirits you can use princess + Zap/Ice Spirit to kill the Minion Horde.
Vs Barbarians you can do 2 things:
- You can use the same strategy like vs minion horde, but if your opponent zaps your fire spirits you will have to deal with the barbarians on defense (princess in the back or musketeer between towers will do)
- you can use the Ice Spirit + Hog Rider push and hold on to your Fire Spirits for defense. This way you will rather do chip damage (getting 1-2 hit in most off the time).

If you like to mix things up you can also do a Mini Pekka/Fire Spirits push but be on the look-out for a counter push since you will be using your main defense.

Now on to the lightning spell.
As stated I like to use this one as a *trick*. Using it for the first time ideally on offense when I have the opportunity to take down a tower.
Anyhow: Look out for a good opportunity to use this spell.
The ideal situation is where the opponent uses a building (cannon) and some medium health troops on defense (musketeer, ice wizard, wizard, ...)
When your opponent uses a Mini Pekka to counter your hog this ain't bad either because you will also stun the mini pekka, buying a extra hit for your hog rider.

When you make that crucial push it's best to perform when you got left-over troops from your succesfull defense.
Again, most likely Muskteer and/or Princess, maybe Mini Pekka with a sliver of health left.
If you pair this push with Hog rider + Lightning Spell it will be very difficult for the opponent to stop this.

In double elixir time by the time your hog reaches the tower and the Lightning has struck you will also have elixir left to send in some more support troops (fire spirits, princess) or use a zap to get an extra hit or 2.
This push generally wins the game !

If you are already 1-0 in front near the end, the lightning can serve as a powerfull weapon putting a halt to that final push from your enemy.

If you got any more questions or remarks let them hear !
For help vs specific decks, feel free to ask !
Good luck to all and give this deck a try if you want.

Blizzard is Saying Farewell to the 20-year-old Battle.net Brand

0
0
Since 1996, Battle.net has been the home of Blizzard's games. In a recent announce, Blizzard stated that they were ditching the Battle.net name, and just the name, and got a new name for the platform.

Blizzard wrote in the announcement:

Battle.net technology will continue to serve as the central nervous system for Blizzard games — nothing is changing in that regard. We’ll just be referring to it as Blizzard tech instead. You’ve already seen this recently with things like “Blizzard Streaming” and “Blizzard Voice,” and more changes are on the way.

The existence of two separate identities (Blizzard and Battle.net) generated occasional confusion and inefficiency. That's why Blizzard decided to move forward with this change that will take place in the next several months.

LOYGAME announced their new f2p browser-based strategy game Lil’ Conques is now available for open beta. Players who register and test the game during open beta will receive 500 red diamonds (in-game currency) per day.

As a economic simulation game, players will be able to build their village, establish a productive empire, and set up armies to conquer the world.

Unlike other simulation games, Lil’ Conques requires much higher strategies on the layout of the village production line. The player needs to consider how to perfectly utilize their land and produce at its full potential so that they can maximize income to boost military power. By promoting the village’s economy, the player can easily upgrade heroes, research and develop new units as well as high-grade equipment to conquer and expand their territory.

Lil’ Conques employs a turn-based war pattern when combating in battlefield. Each battle has three turns. The player will win only if they kill all enemies before the final turn is over. There are over 65 heroes and 4 kinds of units in this game. Each hero has its own skills and can be selected as a commander of any unit among Infantry, Musketeer, Archer and Cavalry. The player needs to sharpen tactics and to figure out which heroes should be deployed to the battlefield, who is the best hero to be a unit’s commander and which kind of weapons equipped for heroes can amplify damages to enemies.

Lil’ Conques’s cities and heroes are real and historical enabling players to learn of the great fighter of Asia, Europe, and beyond. Fight to reclaim and conquer Edo, Constatinople and Sparta with heroes like Alexander, Jules César, and Genghis Khan.

To thank all beta players who test the game, LOYGAME will send a gift pack for them when the game is officially released. The gift pack includes 10 Summoning Orders (players can recruit 10 heroes with it), one Love Tree (provide benefits for the production line), 100,000 coins and 500 blue diamonds.  Click here to play the game now.

Echo of Soul Is Actually Reviving in South Korea as a Mobile Game

0
0
We reported early this month that Kakao Games was reviving Echo of Soul in South Korea. It turned out that Kakao Games was not bringing back the PC MMO but making an Echo of Soul mobile game. Yesterday, Kakao Games revealed some images for Paladin, a new class that's coming to the mobile version. I hope the game will come to west in the future.

Echo of Soul mobile version is still in development. What we know about this game is it has no level cap and focuses on instance play. Besides, the game has PvP system so you can consider the game an online mobile game.

It seems that the mobile version will have slightly different visual style compared with the PC version. It's not surprise Echo of Soul mobile game has the cartoon feeling, because the original developer NVius has been acquired by Mr. Blue, the leading online cartoon platform in South Korea.

7 Amazing Mounts Coming to Riders of Icarus' Rift of the Damned Update

0
0
Though Riders of Icarus may be fairly new on the market still it’s already getting a name for having some of the most unique mounts of any MMO currently available. We’ve been given a taste of just some of the amazing mounts that will be introduced to Riders of Icarus in the upcoming Rift of the Damned update which launches on September 29th.

Abyssal Vylet

In the Exarahn Badlands, you’ll be able to find the Heroic Abyssal Vylet mount, a dark boney looking wyvern-like creature with a terrible roar and a poisonous attack. With its dark look and the red glow from its chest the Abyssal Vylet may just be the ultimate mount to have as Halloween approaches.

Void Kravid

Another mount fit for Halloween is the Void Kravid. It may look similar to the Abyssal Vylet but the lighter colors and quite simply the lack of flesh makes this a whole different beast. The Void Kravid is an Elite mount located in the beautiful aerial region called Tritael Rift. The Void Kravid differs from the Abyssal Vylet again when you look at its skills. It offers no attacks, instead, it has two passives and a warding roar buff which increases magic defense temporarily.

Karasha The Dark One

Have you ever wanted to ride the villain of a fantasy story? Well, now you can with Karasha The Dark One. Reminiscent of the ultimate dragon villains in all of your favorite games Karasha offers you the opportunity to be King (or Queen) of the dragons. Karasha The Dark One is a heroic mount located in the north of Tritael Rift. He also comes with three passives, a buff and two hard hitting attacks befitting a dragon.

Twilight Kargyle

If you’re looking for a mount that can intimidate people while standing still look no further than the Twilight Kargyle. This epic beast dwarfs his rider and as a heroic mount he has three different dark attacks that hit hard, decrease accuracy, speed, and even stuns the enemy. You don’t want to be on the wrong side of his attacks.

Red Horn Galadoku

If you’re looking for something a little more cute than threatening the Red Horn Galadoku is the mount for you. This adorable little guy is an elite mount who can be found in the north of the Tritael Rift. His attack is an adorable spitfire that doesn’t pack much of a punch. But he more than makes up for it with the ability to shrug off the effects of the resonance of Tritael Rift, only mounts native to the area to have that ability.

Voidbeast Drauph

One of the more unique looking mounts being introduced is an evil looking anteater-like creature called the Voidbeast Drauph. This skinny alien-looking beast is an elite found in the north of Tritael Rift. It has a moderate poison attack, but its buff skill increases evasion by 3% for 20 seconds.

Void Letonsia

Ever wanted to ride a flying whale? Of course, not, they aren’t real. But if they were you’d be riding a Void Letonsia with four of your friends. That’s right, this mount has seats for five. Because it’s a unique elite mount it doesn’t have any skills. Despite that, it is sure to be one of the most desired mounts in the game.

It looks like Riders of Icarus is really getting into the Halloween spirit with this new update. Which mount will you be getting? You’ll be able to find all of these and more in the regions being introduced to Riders of Icarus in the Rift of the Damned update on September 29th.

Guild Wars 2: Surprises in Rising Flames

0
0

When trying to decide what to write about this week for the Guild Wars 2 column I was spoiled for choice. I could have gone with [redacted] or when you find [redacted] in [redacted] or things I can actually mention before the spoiler warning like the jumping puzzle from hell. But when it all comes down to it there were some parts of the story that I just did not see coming and they’re the parts of this episode that I enjoyed the most.

So this is it, your spoiler warning. If you haven’t finished the episode, and I mean completely finished it stop reading now and come back when you have. Because this article is going to talk about everything that made the episode great and these things should be experienced first-hand, not read on a website.

This is it. Your last chance to turn back….

I’ll be doing this in order of appearance just for the sake of ease rather than in order of the biggest surprises, though they do get bigger and more amazing the further in the story you go.

Taimi Brings in Moto

The very first thing I was hearing about after the patch launched was Taimi’s game. It’s clearly planting the seeds for something more in the future but I’m just not feeling the hype about it that everyone else is. What I did love was that Arenanet thought to bring in our old friend Moto, the creator of the Super Adventure Box. Sadly, we never get the chance to see him or talk with him, but it was a nice little name drop that opens up the opportunity for more in the future.

Rytlock Gets Arrested?

It’s a very minor moment early on in the story but I was completely surprised by Rytlock being forced to go home to answer questions about his new Revenant magic. Again, it seems like it’s planting a seed for something else to happen in the future. Will we finally get some kind of answer about Revenants? Nah, I doubt it. In these kinds of situations developers prefer to leave things open ended to allow the players the ability to decide how their characters became what they are. Once you specify exactly how someone else did it you then invalidate all the other possibilities that people have come up with. Right now though what it does seem like they’re doing is spreading our team thin. Making people busy all over the world which will make things even more difficult when a confrontation eventually comes.

A Dwarf!

For the entire life of Guild Wars 2 we have thought that Ogden Stonehealer was the last survivor of the race of Dwarves. The rest had made their way underground to fight Primordus and his minions. Now we’ve met Rhoban, who was one of four Dwarves on Ember Isle. Sadly, he believes he is the last. Still, where there’s one there may be more, and with luck we’ll find out that the Dwarves have been thriving underground (as Dwarves often do) and they join us in the upcoming fight against Primordus.

Magic isn’t as Straight Forward as We Thought

So it turns out that magic is a bit like light. To make it simple think about the Pink Floyd album cover for The Dark of the Moon. I’ve included an image below if you aren’t familiar with it.

The rainbow is all the different types of magic. Previously, each of the dragons was responsible for their favorite kind, Zhaitan was all about death, Mordremoth went for life, but now we’re seeing things change a bit. Primordus’ minions aren’t just fire anymore, now we see Devourers with vines and death magic as well. What’s happening? As we kill each dragon that magic is released into the world to get gobbled up by the other dragons. As they absorb the magic they’re becoming more powerful and gaining access to those types of magic. Back to the album cover, we’re in the triangle right now. That means that at some point, when we’re fighting the last dragon he’s going to be a super version of himself who has access to all the types of magic and…yeah, that’s really bad news. Some people are theorizing that the last one will be Stubbles (Steve, aka Bubbles), the underwater dragon. But it makes a lot more sense in my mind for it to be Kralkatorrik, the crystal dragon. Why? What happens when you shine light through a crystal?

Oh.

Lazarus is on Our Side?

Glint’s baby has hatched and Devourers are about to overrun the egg chamber, putting her at risk. Our friends are nowhere to be seen and we can’t hold them off on our own. In the absolute biggest twist of the update, the Mursaat named Lazarus arrives to save the day. He claims that in the time since he was last seen he’s had a change of heart and now he’s there to help save the world. Can he really be trusted though? Marjory decides to go with him to learn more about him despite our protests. Can Lazarus really be trusted? Will he turn against us once he gets what he wants? So many questions left from that one interaction.

The biggest non-story surprise from the update was without a doubt Eureka, the new Legendary weapon. Many players, myself included, assumed that we wouldn’t see any mor new legendary weapons anytime soon if ever. Only to find out that actually they’re still working on them, they’re just making them a little easier on the development team. I quite like the changes personally, as someone who has already completed the world the idea of running around to find random things has never been hugely appealing. I think it would have been different if they were in from the start of the game, but they weren’t so they were just slightly annoying. I can’t wait to see what legendary they release next!

So there they are, the biggest surprises in Rising Flames! Which of them surprised you the most? Was there something that I left out?

Pokemon GO Tips for Beginners & Novices

Pokemon GO
continues to dominate smartphones across the world, as gamers catch, train and battle the little creatures. But for those haven’t experienced the augmented reality (AR) game, it can be extremely confusing. What is a Pokemon? Where are they? How do I catch one? Well, if you've yet to download the app (or have just done so and don't know what to do) we've put together an ultimate beginner's guide to understanding the game of Pokemon Go. Like any role-playing game (RPG) the more time you put into it the better your character (and your Pokemon) will become.

First of all, get Pikachu as you starting the game.

1. ABOUT POKEMON GO
Pokemon Go is an Augmented Reality MMO game, which allows players to Capture, Trade (Trading TBD) and Battle virtual creatures (Pokemon) in the real world. Pokemon Go can be played on Mobile Devices and requires both GPS and an Internet connection to play.
There's more than one way to play Pokemon GO. You can either focus on catching all 150 different types of Pokemon and completing your Pokedex (basically an in-game encyclopedia).
Alternatively, you can focus on becoming as powerful as you can - which means levelling up your character and the Pokemon you catch. It also means you'll need to take part in Pokemon gym fights.

2. REQUIREMENTS & DOWNLOAD
Before you download Pokemon Go, be sure to check if your device meets the necessary specifications and requirements.
2.1 Requirements
Pokemon Go requires an Android or IOS Device with GPS and Internet access (WiFi or Mobile Data) to play. Android devices must have version 4.3 or higher and IOS users must have an iPhone 5 or better. Not sure if you meet the requirements? Learn which OS your phone is currently running.
2.2 Downloading the Game
The game can be downloaded in either the Google Play App Store (Android users) or the iTunes App Store (IOS users). Depending on your device, simply head over to either Virtual Store or search Apps for “Pokemon Go”. Click on “Install” and you should be good to go.
Be sure to have at least 200MB of free storage space to download the App. The initial download is around 50MB, but there’ll need more space for new updates to download as well.
If the storage space on your device is insufficient you will be prompted with a message upon the attempted download. Simply delete unused files (Apps, Pictures, Videos, etc.) or clear your Cache to free up the necessary space.

3. BASIC TERMS & SETTINGS
This section goes over the basic Terms, Settings and Controls every new Pokemon Go player should know.
3.1. Glossary
There are a variety of different Terms used in Pokemon Go, which some players may not be familiar with. Be sure to check out the Glossary to learn more about the commonly used Terms and Phrases in Pokemon Go.

3.2 Game Settings
You have the ability to zoom in and out of the map while traveling. In addition, you can choose to turn on the Battery Saver mode, which is very useful for conserving power (especially if you don’t have a backup battery).
3.3 Game Controls
You are the controller. Simply start walking and your virtual Trainer will travel along with you. Use your touchscreen to interact with the Menu.
Pokemon and Locations on your Map. The controls are simple to use and you will get accustomed to them in a short period of time.
If you have intend to use the Pokemon Go Plus, make sure to keep your phone's Bluetooth setting on.
When connected wirelessly, you will be able to capture Pokemon without needing to look at your smartphone.

4. GETTING STARTED
You have downloaded the game, familiarized yourself with the common terms and learned the basic controls. Congratulations! You are now ready to begin your Pokemon Go journey.
4.1 Trainer Creation & Customization
At the very beginning of the game, you have the opportunity to create your own Pokemon Go Trainer. He or she will serve as your unique avatar as you travel the world.
You will be given the option to name and customize your Trainer with a variety of different cosmetic options. You may customize your Trainer’s Gender, Face, Hair, Eye Color, Hat, Shirt, Pants, Shoes and Backpack.
4.2 Choosing a Team
Once you have finalized your Trainer’s appearance and username, you will be able to start exploring. Eventually you will come across a Gym. Upon visiting your first Gym you will be asked to join one of three Teams. Mystic is Blue, Valor is Red and Instinct is Yellow.
Note: You also must be at least Level 5 before you can join a Gym.
If you plan to play with friends, choosing a Team is very important. Players of the same Team will need to work together to defeat/take control of opposing Team’s Gyms and defend friendly Gyms (More about Gyms later in this guide).
If you wish to play alongside friends, make sure to discuss with them first before choosing a Team.
4.3 Main Menu
Before you explore further, here is a little information on the Main Menu. At the bottom of the screen you will see four icons. From left to right, these include Trainer Profile Picture, Pokedex, Items and Pokemon.
Trainer Profile: Here you can see your current Trainer level, XP required to reach the next level, Badges/Achievements and more. You will get achievements for walking certain distances, catching a required number of new Pokemon, visiting a set number of Pokestops, winning a certain number of Gym battles, etc.
Pokedex: This is a digital encyclopedia of every Pokemon that can be captured in Pokemon Go. When you first start out, each Pokemon Profile will be hidden.
When you capture a Pokemon, the Pokedex will populate with an image and reveal detailed information about that particular Pokemon.
Items: As you travel and progress in Pokemon Go you will be able to obtain items. These Items may include Pokeballs, Potions, Eggs, etc. that will automatically be added to your inventory. Pressing the Items icon will provide you with quick access to your inventory.
Pokemon: Pulling up the Pokemon menu will allow you to see all of the Pokemon you have captured so far. Each Pokemon will show as a small image with its corresponding CP value. Selecting a Pokemon will show further details including Type, height, weight, Moves, etc. (more about these later).

5. EXPLORING THE WORLD
You have created your Avatar, chosen a Team and familiarized yourself with the main menu. It is now time to take your first real steps in the world as a Pokemon Go Trainer!
5.1 Locations
After taking your first steps, you will notice different points of interest on your map. These locations include Pokemon, Pokestops and Gyms. Each serves a different purpose and can be interacted with in a different way.
Pokemon will generally reside in locations similar to that of their Type. For example, Water Type Pokemon will be more heavily populated near Lakes, Oceans, etc. while Grass and Bug Type Pokemon will be found more often near Woods, Parks, etc.
5.2 Pokemon
If a wild Pokemon is nearby it will show up on your screen. Simply continue walking towards it and then interact with it to begin the encounter. The game will automatically shift from the bird’s eye map view into a one on one encounter mode between you and the wild Pokemon.
5.2.1 How to Capture Pokemon
To capture the Pokemon, throw a Pokeball at the Pokemon by swiping your finger towards it. If done correctly, you will see the Pokeball fly towards the target.
Each wild Pokemon will have a colored ring around it, which represents how difficult of a capture it is.
Green = Easy Capture
Orange = Medium Capture
Red = Difficult Capture
You will want to use more powerful Pokeballs such as Great Balls and Ultra Balls to capture stronger Pokemon.
Berries can also be used (once per failed capture attempt) to make a Pokemon easier to capture. A Berry will actually change the color of the capture ring when used.
A wild Pokemon with a high CP over its head means that it is too powerful to capture based on your current Trainer Level. It is possible to capture these Pokemon, but very difficult. Leveling Up your Trainer will make powerful Pokemon easier to catch.
5.2.2 Pokemon CP & HP
When you first encounter a wild Pokemon it will have a CP value hovering over its head. CP stands for Combat Points and is a major factor in determining how powerful that Pokemon is. The higher a Pokemon’s CP, the more difficult it will be to capture and the more damage it will do in battle.
HP stands for Hit Points/Health Points, and represents how much damage a Pokemon can take in battle before it is defeated. You will want to keep one or two Pokemon of the same species with the highest CP and HP values (Especially those that have Evolution capabilities).
5.2.3 Pokemon Types
Each Pokemon will have either one or two Types, depending on the species of Pokemon. Certain Types of Pokemon are vulnerable to certain Move Types, while other Types may be resistant to the very same Move Types.
For example, a Fire Type Pokemon will take more damage from a Water Type Move, while a Grass Type Pokemon will take less damage from a Water Type Move.
5.2.4 Pokemon Moves
Moves in Pokemon Go are attacks that your Pokemon can use in battle. Each Pokemon will have two Moves. One Charge Move and one Fast Move.
Charge Move: A powerful attack that can be performed during battle, but requires Stamina (Energy) to use. Charge Moves can be performed by pressing and holding.
Fast Move: A quick attack that can be performed without using Stamina (Energy). When used it will replenish some of your depleted Stamina (Energy). Fast Moves can be performed by tapping.
Move Types: In addition to Pokemon Types, each Move will actually have an individual Type as well. For example, a Normal Type Pokemon may have a Normal Type Fast Move and a Dark Type Charge Move.
5.3 Pokestops
Pokestops are real world locations that can be visited to obtain items. A Pokestop is shown on the map as a marker that looks like a floating Pokeball.
As you get closer the Pokestop marker will change shape. Tap the Pokestop to interact with it.
Next, spin the core of the Pokestop and it will dispense items. Tap or swipe the items on the screen to collect them.
Visiting Pokestops is the best way to obtain free items in Pokemon Go.
You may find Pokeballs, Potions, Eggs, Max Revives, etc. You will also receive a small amount of XP. Visit as many Pokestops as you can.
5.4 Items
Collected items will automatically be stored in your inventory and can be used throughout your journey. Each item has a different purpose.
Pokeballs: Acquired from Pokestops and used to capture and store wild Pokemon.
Potions: Acquired from Pokestops and used to heal a % of a single Pokemon’s depleted HP.
Max Revive: Acquired from Pokestops and used to revive fainted (0 HP) Pokemon.
Berries: Can be used on wild Pokemon to make them easier to capture.
5.4.1 Eggs
While more rare than Pokeballs, Eggs can also be acquired from Pokestops. Eggs can be carried around and after walking a certain distance your Egg(s) will hatch into a Pokemon! The species of Pokemon that hatches from the Egg will be randomized.
Note: The Egg Incubator is an Item that can be purchased from the Shop by spending Pokecoins. It can be used to hatch Eggs.
5.4.2 Where can I get different items?
You can get Poke Balls, eggs, potions, super potions, revives, Razz Berries, Great Balls, Ultra Balls, and Master Balls (powerful types of Poke Balls) from PokeStops. You will get some incense, lucky eggs, lure modules, and egg incubators as you level up, but these “premium” items can also be purchased in the shop. Here’s a quick rundown of what these items do:
Poke Ball: Used for catching Pokemon. Just toss these at Pokemon you meet in the wild.
Egg: These contain Pokemon. You will need to put an egg in an incubator and walk a certain distance (each egg will tell you how long you’ll need to walk) for it to hatch. You will also receive Stardust and Candies upon hatching.
Potion: Restore 20 Hit Points (HP) to Pokemon injured in gym battles. Will only work if Pokemon have not fainted.
Super Potion: Restore 50HP to Pokemon injured in gym battles. Will only work if Pokemon have not fainted.
Revive: Revives a fainted Pokemon and restores half of its HP.
Great Ball: Unlocks at level 12. Used for catching Pokemon. These special balls have a higher rate of capture, so you should use them on hard-to-get Pokemon.
Ultra Ball: Unlocks at level 20. Used for catching Pokemon. Has a higher rate of capture than a Great Ball.
Master Ball: Unlocks at a higher (currently unknown) level. Captures Pokemon every time.
Incense: Attracts Pokemon to your location for 30 minutes. Works best if you are moving.
Lucky Egg: Doubles your XP for 30 minutes. To rack up XP quickly, use a Lucky Egg in an area where you are likely to meet a lot of Pokemon (near a lure module or while using incense), or right before you are about to evolve several Pokemon (evolving nets you 500XP).
Lure Module: Can be pinned to a PokeStop to attract Pokemon to that location for 30 minutes. Works for everyone near the PokeStop.
Incubators: Can be used to incubate and hatch eggs. You can use multiple incubators at once to incubate and hatch multiple eggs.
5.5 Gyms
Gyms are real world locations that Teams battle for control over. A Gym is shown on the map as a floating marker with platforms (the number of platforms represents the Gym Level, which also represents the number of potential defending Pokemon at that Gym).
Pokemon can be trained at a friendly Gym to increase the Gym’s Prestige and Level. Defeating Pokemon at an opposing Team’s Gym will lower the Gym’s Prestige and Level. When battling at Gyms, you can either Dodge or choose to use one of your Pokemon’s Moves.
5.5.1 Gym Battle Mechanics
When you visit a Gym you will have the option of either Training (Battling friendly Pokemon) or Challenging (Battling Pokemon from an opposing Team). The battle mechanics are similar in both game modes.
After choosing your Pokemon Team, the battle will start and you will face off against a defending Pokemon (controlled by AI, rather than by an actual player).
How to Win a Battle: To win a battle, you must use your Pokemon’s moves to reduce the HP of your opponent’s Pokemon down to 0.
HP & Stamina: Both Pokemon will have their HP bar visible during battle. The attacking Pokemon will have its blue Stamina (Energy) bar shown right below its HP.
CP (Combat Points): The greater the CP value of your Pokemon, the greater amount of damage it will deal during battle.
Moves: Using a mix of Fast and Charge Moves will result in greater success during battle. Build up your Stamina bar with Fast moves and then unleash powerful Charge Moves to take out large chunks of your opponent’s HP. You will get the hang of this after only a few battles.
Dodging: Swiping either left or right on the screen will allow you to Dodge opposing attacks. Dodged attacks will result in 0 damage taken.
5.5.2 Gym Rewards
Winning Training battles will award you with Trainer XP and increased Prestige for your friendly Gym. Winning Gym battles will award you with Trainer XP and decrease the Prestige of the opposing Gym.
5.5.3 Prestige & Gym Levels
Training successfully at a friendly Gym will result in increased Gym Prestige at that Gym. When a Gym gains enough Prestige it will Level Up.
The higher a Gym’s level, the more Defensive Pokemon slots it will have. The more Defending Pokemon a Gym has the less likely it is to be defeated by enemy teams.
When a Gym is defeated enough times its control will become Neutral. Neutral Gyms can be taken control of by any Team. Once captured, it is then the controlling team’s job to defend that Gym against the other two teams.

6. EVOLUTION
Many Pokemon have the capability of Evolving in Pokemon Go. When a Pokemon Evolves it will advance to a much stronger form. Evolving a Pokemon requires a certain amount of Candy.
6.1 Candy
Candy is collected by capturing Pokemon. When a required number of Candy is collected, you will have the option of evolving a single Pokemon. Candy is specific to the species of Pokemon captured (Eg. Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander).
6.2 CP Increase
Evolved Pokemon will show a significant increases in CP. You can capture evolved forms of Pokemon in the wild, but Evolved Pokemon of the same species will generally have more CP. In addition, when choosing to Evolve a Pokemon, make sure to pick the one with the highest CP to maximize CP potential. Stardust and Candy can be used to Power Up a Pokemon, increasing its CP and HP.

7. TRAINER PROGRESSION
While individual Pokemon cannot Level Up in Pokemon Go, your Trainer can. By gaining Experience Points (XP) your Trainer will Level Up and become more powerful.
7.1 Gaining XP
There are many opportunities to gain XP in Pokemon Go. The main ways include Capturing Pokemon, Evolving Pokemon, Winning Gym Battles, Visiting Pokestops, etc.
Note: Capturing a new Pokemon will grant bonus XP.
7.2 Leveling Up
After gaining enough XP you will advance to the next Trainer Level. Each Level will require more XP, thus Leveling Up becomes more difficult later on in the game.
Although it may take a while to reach the max Trainer Level, Leveling Up your trainer is the best way to build up a stronger Team and progress further in the game.
7.3 Capturing Stronger Pokemon
As you continue to gain XP and Level Up you will notice that the CP of nearby wild Pokemon increases along with you. Not only will you begin to see powerful Pokemon in the wild, these Pokemon will become easier to catch.
For example, a Pokemon that used to be a Very Difficult Catch a few Levels ago, may now happen to be only a Medium Difficulty Catch.
7.4 Progression Rewards
In addition, to being able to capture higher CP Pokemon, you will be given item rewards as you Level Up. For example, you may receive a few Great Balls for reaching a certain Level. A few Levels later you may be rewarded with a few Ultra Balls or even a rare Master Ball. Keep progressing to earn those rewards!
Here are five quick tips on How to Gain XP Fast.

8. ADVANCED MECHANICS & STRATEGY
Pokemon Go may look like a simple mobile App at first glance, but the unique combat system really helps turn Pokemon Go into a fun and in-depth strategy game.
8.1 Type Effectiveness
In battle, choosing the correct Pokemon Type(s) and Move Type(s) is critical to your success. As mentioned above in Section 5.2.3, a particular Move Type may deal significant damage to a particular Pokemon if that Pokemon is at a Type disadvantage.
If the Pokemon has a Type advantage it will take less damage from Moves of that Type.
There are 18 different Types in total, so make sure to familiarize yourself with the strengths and weaknesses of each.
Do you know that Bug Type Moves are Super Effective against Grass & Psychic Type Pokemon? Or that Bug Type Pokemon are vulnerable to Rock, Fire & Flying Type Moves?
Be sure to check out the Full List of Pokemon Types and Move Types to learn how to gain that significant advantage in battle.
8.2 Team Optimization
Being that every Type of Pokemon has a weakness, it is impossible to build a Pokemon Team with zero weaknesses. However, what you can do is choose to use Pokemon with Types that will complement each other.
For example, instead of using only Bug, Grass and Ice Type Pokemon (all weak against Fire) add a Water Type Pokemon to your Team. Fire Moves are Not Very Effective against Water Pokemon and Water Type Moves are Super Effective against Fire Types. Choosing Pokemon with this strategy in mind will help to minimize your Team's weaknesses, ultimately making your team more powerful.

Thank you for reading, I hope this guide was helpful. Now, get up and go outside with the Pokemon GO!

Dark and Light: New Details of the Dangerous, Fascinating Living World

0
0
Recently, we got more gameplay details about the upcoming Sandbox MMO Dark and Light (DnL). It’s seems that Snail Games is ready to talk about the highly-anticipated game. The beta test will be available in November or December this year.

Combats
Pictures and GIF above are just for reference, these are subject to change

Combining the modern survival gameplay and action RPG combat system, the Melee combat in DnL is more viable and rewarding than other survival games. Enchanted weapons and offensive spells will make both 1V1 and group combat more exciting. What’s more, the powerful mounts can join the battle and players will be able to transform during the battle.

Forts

As far as I know, there is no standard in-game currency but players can trade with others. So we can except player-run economy in DnL. Of course, rare materials for players to upgrade equipment or expand settlements will be in high demand. And those materials only exist in certain regions, making players to fight for the control of resources.

Survival

As a survival game, hunger and fatigue system will be available for players. Players’ status is affected by weather and topographies, therefore if you want to explore the outside word, specific equipment and consumables are necessary in case of extreme conditions.

PvP and PvE Server

Both PvP and PvE sever will be available for players to choose from. If players get killed in open-world PvP, all the belongings they carry with can be looted by others. If you don’t like killings, there are several optional progression paths for you. For example, you can allocate skill points  on building or improving structures. Or you can distribute the skill point to equipment-based crafting abilities. Moreover, there should be some special recipes for useful items that will help players survive in the wild.

Yore VR is a medieval sandbox VR game from indie developer Tectonic VR. The gameplay features are no different to most medieval sandbox games out there. However, Yore VR is developed for VR from the ground up, it features a natural, realistic and visceral combat experience you can't have in non-VR games.

Watch the video below to see how crossbow is shot in VR.

You can explore in the way you like and expect to discover hidden treasure and dungeon. You may be able to learn new skills in your exploration. If you prefer crafting, mining, lumberjacking and gathering are in the game, all of which are done with your own hand in VR. With the right materials you can do Smelting and Blacksmithing, all in VR — you have to actually swing your hammer to make weapons.

The game will be coming soon to Steam Early Access. You can go to the game's forum for the latest update.
