October has just begun and you are probably searching for some new titles to sink your time into or maybe this is the moment where you will find your next dream MMO, who knows. We have some great titles prepared for you, ranging from top down co-op shooters to AAA MMOs, including the upcoming closed beta for My.com’s latest hit, Revelation (if you didn't follow this tile until now, be sure to check our
HUB and our
Top 5 Reasons to be excited about Revelation upcoming Beta).
Hybrid Wars
Wargaming is on the rise again with the recently launched Hybrid Wars, available on
Steam from September 29 for $17.99 as Standard Edition or $19.99 for the Deluxe version (few perks and a new hero).
Although this is not an MMO, Hybrid Wars will probably catch you from the very first steps, especially if you loved the 90s classic top down shooters.
For start the game offers 8 open world maps, three diverse mercenaries, over 150 objectives to complete and multiple game modes. Both single player and multiplayer version will be available on the release day. Besides single player, the multiplayer coop, where up to four players can wrack havoc on any map, will be the first mode introduced. Every multiplayer mod that will be added later will come as a free DLC.
The main characters of Hybrid Wars are:
- Alex Carter (standard edition), a military specialist that can access a personal med drone that will save solder’s life on the battlefield;
- Ivan (standard edition), a former mercenary and a mech specialist that can access a defense drone capable of restoring force fields and support soldiers in combat;
- Jason Wood (deluxe edition), a cyborg with a support drone that can grab resources and transport cargo in combat.

Fractured Space
This game came a little late on our radar, with the ending of the Alpha stage that was presented at
ChinaJoy 2016.
Fractured Space is a mix of sci-fi strategy game and MOBA elements. During the first steps inside the game you will get to pick up a ship from different manufacturers (over 30 “equal but different” ships are available), define its class (damage dealing cruisers, long range snipers or support ships) and choose your weapons arsenal. Every item can be bought with in-game currency, but as with every free-to-play title, you will also have the option to speed up the upgrading process by purchasing different packs with real cash.
The two main game modes of Fractured Space are Conquest and Frontline, the first one is a MOBA space map with three separate lanes and five sectors, where your primary objective will be to destroy the enemy base. The second mode features a single lane, where fleets of ships will struggle to capture the enemy base within a ten minute battle.
To ease up the learning phase, Edge Case Games developed an additional A.I. where fleet commanders will have the chance to practice their strategy before advancing to real matches against other people.
If you’re still undecided about leaving your current MOBA game, check the trailer below and decide if Fractured Space is worth a shot.
AdventureQuest 3D
Are you looking for a casual cross-platform MMO (yeah, that type of game that you can play both on PC and on your Android/iOS)? If the answer is yes, well maybe AdventureQuest 3D will be your next go-to title.
Developed by Artix Entertainment, AdventureQuest 3D is considered to be the sequel of the well known 2D browser RPG Adventure Quest. One of the key features of this upcoming fantasy MMORPG is that players will be able to change between unlocked class at any given time, and believe me, AQ3D have a ton of classes prepared for launch.
The game is casual oriented with a lot of life quality features included, like the party option that lets you group up with other players with only two clicks or taps, by summoning them to your location. Level difference will not be a problem so friends can easily conquer the same goals such as dungeons, allowed by a level scaling technology.
Artix Entertainment is also known for fast updates so AQ 3D will also have regular updates that will bring new explorable lands and an action-packed storyline that will cater players of all levels and skill.

Heroes & Generals
Heroes and Generals is a free-to-play MMOFPS where three military powers (Germany, United States and the Soviet Union) fight to ensure their country dominance over the planet.
You will be able to play as Infantry, Tank crew, Fighter pilot, Paratrooper, Recon or Generals and you will have a plethora of methods and tactics available, such as parachuting, flying planes, vehicles ranging from bicycles to armored tanks. As with every MMO, you will also have a progression system where you start as a soldier at the begining of your career, unlocking perks and new equipment throught your journey.
Heroes and Generals already have a vast arsenal of more than 80 weapons and 65 vehicles ready for you to aquire, but more will be added with the regular updates. For those of you looking for an authentic experience, the team has brought several memorable weapons and vehicles including the US M1A1 Thompson submachine gun, the German Panzer V Ausf G. "Panther" tank and the Soviet Yak - 9B fighter plane.
Every player on the battlefield will be able to view the map of ongoing battles. All the action takes place on a huge map (where 1000 players on each side can join) and the key to victory will be teamplay and an experienced general that will take care of reinforcements for the front lines. Battles can go for hours or even days if the oposing generals keep sending resources into one of the fights.

Atlas Reactor
Trion Worlds, a well known MMO developer and publisher (Rift, ArcheAge, Trove) decided to try something different, and the resut was Atlas Reactor, a turn based PvP battle arena.
I will try to explain a little how the game works. At the start of each match, we will get to pick a hero (they are called freelancers) and we will join a team with up to six other players. The match consists of different turns where each player plans and execute an action, and where all the players turns are taking place at the same time. Don't worry about a chaotic gameplay, as we have different phases to plan and execute our strategy.
First we have the preparation phase where we can apply different buffs to our team members, debuffs on enemies or place a trap on an uncoming possible route. The second phase is known as dash phase where we will get to choose if we want to get out and dodge an incoming iminent attack or if we want to charge towards the enemy lines. Third phase is the one where the attack moves and combos will take place. Attacks aren't targeted at a specific player, so a well executed one can hit multiple targets, while a poor one may miss all of them. The final stage is the moving one where we get to relocate our freelancers.
With Atlas Reactor Trion is looking towars eSports. The game will include replays, a spectator mode, but also a special touch that will make it fun for casual players also.

Revelation
Finally we get to try this upcoming triple A masterpiece. This game was on our radar since forever. I remember how stunned I was when the first trailer was released, it was like two great MMOs (like Aion and Blade and Soul) colided and from the blast emerged a new one, ready to compete at any level with everything that was on the market at that time (and even now it looks the same).
If you are building a check-list for your dream MMO I'm sure more than 50% of that list is already, or will be added in Revelation. NetEase really stricked a home run with this title, and the only thing that can go wrong is the localisation (I really can't imagine why some people think that the western market can't understand a chinese legend for example, or the need to go into "molecular depth level" and change some of the core features so it could please the foreigner players) and the payment system.
So let's see some features that can be on your dream MMO list and are already part of Revelation:
- amazingly detailed character creation;
- in-depth character progression;
- seamless open world that combined with the flight option will bring an imersive experience;
- well developed combat system (tab targeting, action targeting and a hybrid system) including aerial combat;
- story driven quests that gets you in-loved with the game's universe;
- a plethora of PVE adventures such as dungeons, raids, and epic world bosses;
- different PvP modes ranging from Arenas and Battlegrounds to huge Teritorry Wars and Castle Sieges. Open World PvP and Karma System after a certain level;
- a well rounded social aspect with Guilds and Relationships.
Yes, yes, I know I am hyped about it, but why shouldn't we be? The MMO market is getting better and better. I know there are some dead periods or one hyped game turns to be a disaster, but overall with each great title and with each major update/expansion the MMO industry is heading the right way.

MU Legend
MU Legend, developed by Webzen, is the hack-and-slash sequel of MU Online (I remember this one as one of the first MMOs that I was playing back in my childhood). The game was originally labelled as MU2 and it was announced way back, but the development started in the early 2009.
The game features four playable classes: Dark Lord, Whisperer, Blader and War Mage (a 5th one called the Summoner will be added at a later date), each with a fair amount of customization and 2 job changes along the way.
The leveling speed is quite fast, easy quests and a ton of dungeons (you can select an increased difficulty settings for these runs if you want a real challenge). Besides the character level cap, MU Legend offers Soul Levels that will increase your character power even after you hit the level cap. This is a system similar with the rebirths that were available in the original MU or with the Paragons Levels available in Diablo 3.
The crafting system is quite basic, with recipes unlocking as you reach certain levels, and the required mats won't be too hard to obtain. An important feature in MU Legend is the enchanting system where you will be able to upgrade your gear. At around +8 your gear will start to glow and some pieces (like wings) will upgrade at +15.
The game also comes with PvP content like a 10 vs 10 arena where players need to fight to capture different key points.
If you played MU Online back in the day or if you want to try a new hack-and-slash MMO, than this is your chance, especially that we are going to host a MU Legend Closed Beta Giveaway soon (keep an eye on
2p main page for the announcement).
I hoped you already found your new title for October, but if you are planning to play other games that were not mentioned here, let us know in the comments below.
