Oculus Is Developing a Standalone, Wireless VR Headset

$

Oculus Rift, the VR headset Oculus launched on March 28th, 2016, heralded the VR headset war. The harbinger in VR market is working on something that excites everyone, a new standalone, wireless VR headset that requires no PC to run. Called Santa Cruz, the prototype was shown at Oculus Connect at San Jose today.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg showed off the new headset, noting "a standalone product that you can take with you into the world." It’s still early in development but it will stand between Oculus Rift, Vive and Gear VR, Daydream View. With a strong believe in the VR technology, Facebook will invest around $250 million in future projects beside the $250 million already invested.

Is Santa Cruz the future of wireless VR headset?

Clash Royale: Best Double Pekka Deck for Victory Challenges

$
0
0
Hello Clashers! KairosTime here, with a powerful double PEKKA deck that has proven to win the 12th round of a grand challenge! It comes with a video guide on a YouTube series called “Challenge Winning Decks” which includes the winning 12th round replay that you can find here! Feel free to check out my YouTube Channel for more video guides!

The Deck:

Card Breakdown:
PEKKA - The PEKKA is a force that can’t be ignored, and your opponent will do anything to keep her from landing her mighty sword on their tower. The sound of her landing on the map still sends chills down my spine!
Althernatives - Giant, Giant Skeleton, Golem

Mini PEKKA - The Mini PEKKA loves pancakes, and is strong on both offense and defense! Use this little guy to defend strong pushes and make even stronger counter-pushes!
Miner - The Miner is a super versatile card in the game! His many uses make him difficult to replace in a lot of different types of decks, but his primary use in this deck is to clear defending ranged troops that are locked on to the PEKKA, so try to switch him out with one of his alternatives if you don’t have him.
Alternatives - Fireball, Poison, Log

Witch - The Witch comes with her own little army which makes her difficult to deal with when behind the PEKKA. She’s great on defense if you can turn her defense to a counter-push!
Alternatives - Tombstone, Furnace

Musketeer - The Musketeer is one of the best cards in the game, especially when she can’t be 1-shotted by a Fireball. Use her to support the PEKKA and she’ll plow through defending troops!

Ice Wizard - The Ice Wizard is a tanky troop that is very strong on defense and will slow down defending troops, making it easier for your PEKKA to make it to the tower! If you don’t have him, switch him out for one of his alternatives.
Alternatives - Wizard, Ice Spirit, Baby Dragon, Princess

Zap - Zap has so many great uses in this deck for only 2 elixir. Whether it is used to reset an Inferno Tower, or to clear small troops that are distracting your PEKKA, Zap is a must-have card in this deck.

Elixir Collector - The Elixir Collector forces your opponent to play on your side of the field, which gives you the advantage. Protect your pump well and your opponent’s heart will drop when you drop the PEKKA.

On Defense

Hog Cycle Decks - These decks require some practice playing against so I recommend that you watch the video for a replay example on how to face Hog Decks. The trick with these decks is to use your towers’ health as a resource. That means that you should allow your opponent to deal some damage to your tower so that you can save up your elixir. One of the best ways to do this is with the Ice Wizard, Musketeer, or Mini PEKKA. By spending 3 or 4 elixir, your tower will take out a Hog Rider with only a few hits on it. This can take some health off your tower, but spending little Elixir to defend will allow you to make a comeback when you have enough Elixir to drop you PEKKA and some supporting troops. When you are ready to drop the PEKKA, it may be good to drop her by your tower so she can clear the Hog Rider and so you have some time before she makes it to the bridge while you add supporting troops.

Giant Poison Decks - This is another tough deck to play against because Poison does such a good job at clearing your PEKKA’s supporting units. You will want to watch the video for 2 replays on this one so you can see an example of how to overcome this difficult matchup and with some skill, you will be unstoppable! Facing Giant Poison Decks is all about troop placement when you know that your opponent has the Poison ready. You will want to use your PEKKA to take out the enemy Giant on your side of the map, and place your Mini PEKKA and Ice Wizard in the right place to take out supporting troops. You can place your Mini PEKKA in the Poison but you will want to keep other troops far from each other so they can’t all be Poisoned.

Miner Chip Damage Decks - Miner Chip Damage decks can be dangerous if you’re not expecting them. Because the Miner doesn’t actually do very much damage to the tower, you can usually ignore the miner and focus on the troops coming down the lane. Usually a Mini PEKKA or the Ice Wizard are the best troops to use, but you will want to place them so they won’t target the Miner first, but will target him after they have cleared oncoming troops. Like Hog Cycle Decks, the best way to face these decks is to use your towers’ health as a resource and try to defend with as little elixir as possible, so you can mount a powerful push that won’t be able to be stopped. If you can do that, these decks won’t be hard for you to face as long as you protect your Elixir Collector with the Ice Wizard or Mini PEKKA.

Other Decks - Honestly, this deck doesn’t have much of a difficult time facing other decks as long as you follow the advice above. If you’re ready to mount a push, defend tanky troops with the PEKKA but if you’re not ready, be patient and your time will come. You will want to try and get your Collectors down and protect them without committing too much to defense. When facing other PEKKA decks, it is usually the PEKKA that gets dropped last that will triumph so being patient is very important. If you’re facing Double Prince decks, you’ll want to save your Zap for the right moment and counter attack with a PEKKA or Mini PEKKA depending on whether you want to defend or go on the offense. Feel free to leave comments below if you’re having issues with other deck types!

On Offense

This deck is so strong because it uses the sheer force of your PEKKA backed up with 3 ranged supporting troops and a Miner that can be used to clear Musketeers or Princesses anywhere on the map. As soon as you drop the PEKKA, your opponent’s play style will shift, so wait for the right time, but don’t wait too long or she won’t make it to the enemy tower before the time runs out. If you’ve lost a tower and know that you won’t go into overtime, You will want to drop your first PEKKA before there’s only 1:15 left, or your opponent may be able to distract her enough that she won’t make it to the tower. If you are going into overtime, you can even wait until 15 seconds before overtime before dropping your first PEKKA.

Sometimes you will be down a tower and there won’t be enough time to make a PEKKA push successful. If this is the case, you can definitely have success with a Mini PEKKA push. This can be done with either the Ice Wizard or Witch along with the Miner to distract the tower along with the Mini PEKKA being dropped at the bridge. Have your Zap ready to clear troops that will distract your Mini PEKKA and you can get a quick tower kill if your opponent isn’t expecting it.

Popular Defenses and Taking Them Down:

Minion Horde - You will need 2 of the following: Witch, Ice Wizard, Zap. With that, this won’t be tough to deal with and your PEKKA or supporting troops shouldn’t take too much damage.

Fireball / Rocket - Make sure your supporting troops are in a line with space between them rather than bunched up in one place. I find the best lineup to be the Witch in front, Ice Wizard in the middle, and the Musketeer in the back.

Valkyrie - Similar to the Fireball / Rocket, place your troops in a line when preparing your push. If you don’t have much time to prepare your push, a Mini PEKKA backed up with an Ice Wizard should do a good job at taking care of the Valkyrie before she does too much damage.

Princess / Ice Wizard / Musketeer - Wait until it is locked on to the PEKKA or is about to be, then place your Miner directly behind them and he’ll quickly take them out. If you place him in front of these troops, you run the risk of resetting their target onto him which you don’t necessarily want to do.

Inferno Tower - You will want to make sure your Witch is involved in this push and has had plenty of time to build up a little army. This is one situation where I will place the Witch in the back and then place the PEKKA near the bridge so the Witch will have enough time to spawn plenty of Skeletons that can surround the PEKKA. Using Zap + Miner is a great combination too by getting the Tower to lock onto the Miner.

Poison - This one takes practice. My favorite way to deal with this is by dropping the Musketeer in the middle of the map, right next to the river so she can help clear defending troops without walking into the Poison. On one match, I won because my opponent was spending so much elixir defending my PEKKA push with Poison that I dropped a Miner + Mini PEKKA down the other lane and they couldn’t defend it.

Guards - If you have the Ice Wizard and Witch together, don’t worry about these too much. If you only have one of them, you will want to Zap the Guards even if they are leveled up high enough that their shields won’t get knocked off. The Zap’s Stun + Extra damage will give your troops enough time to clear the Guards without them being able to distract your PEKKA too much.

One Final Note
This deck takes some practice to learn how to use so be patient. After seeing my buddy noobiemaster win a grand challenge (Replay in video), I had to try this deck out! If you’re like me, you may lose your first couple matches but keep practicing and follow the advice in this guide and you will see just how strong this deck is!

Thanks for taking the time to read this guide! I hope that you have found it helpful. This is KairosTime ticking by! See you in the Arena!

Overwatch Seems to Have Halloween Terror Event

Halloween is only 3 weeks away! Overwatch fans may be excited about the upcoming festival since some leaked information on Reddit suggest that a new event called Overwatch Halloween Terror. Just like Olympics-themed Summer Games, players can except fresh loot boxes with over 100 new items in all, covering skins, highlight intros, emotes, victory poses, voice lines, and player icons.

There's no indication as to when the boxes will go live, but their availability will come to an end at 4 pm ET on November 1. Unfortunately, unlike the Overwatch summer games event that coincided with the Rio 2016 Olympics, it doesn’t appear that the Halloween event will feature a limited game mode.

However, that may be because Blizzard has its work cut out creating two new Overwatch heroes. In the video above, game director Jeff Kaplan confirms that the team is “actively working on more heroes now.” One of these characters is ”very far along” and this hero will see the light of day sooner rather than later. Another one is in the prototype stages and will be released in 2017.

Hajime Tabata Talks About Final Fantasy XV’s PC Version and PSVR DLC

In an recent interview with vidaextra, Hajime detailed about whyFinal Fantasy XV is delayed, hinted at the possibility of having a brand new DLC for PS VR, and discussed the potential PC version.

Like other Final Fantasy series, both starters and advanced players can enjoy the game equally. Great improvements have been done during the delay, players can except to play the game without any patches. It will be available worldwide on November 29.

Instead of having a new version for PS4 and Xbox One, the development team prefers focusing on the new consoles. Now they’re planning on a DLC for PS VR. Different from the demo at E3 2016, it would be a brand new DLC.

There is no doubt that the PC version will be much better than what we have on consoles. It could take more than one year to develop the PC version since there is much do be done to make it adjust to the engine.

Inspired by Anime characters, ELOA: Elite Lord of Alliance is a hack'n'slash MMORPG. Published by Webzen, the game will end its western service  in mid-October. The imminent shutdown of ELOA is probably a sad moment for its community, but it can  also be considered as a new beginning.

Game&Game, a Korean video game publisher, revealed a "coming soon" page for ELOA. This "new-birth-page" doesn't offer too much information about the game's future under the new publisher. While the ELOA's servers are still up and running, we can assume that the things we get more clear after the existing servers shutdown. No word on whether players will be able to transfer their characters over to the Game&Game version either.

Giant Skeleton +Skeleton Army Deck Took 4th in the ESWC Americas Tourney!

$
0
0
Hey guys, it’s q1a2 here to present my Giant Skeleton +Skeleton Army Deck. I always considered myself to be a good player, but deep down, I never really expected myself to be great. Well, I just took fourth place in the Americas qualifiers for the worldwide tournament in Paris. I've been posting this deck a lot, but I finally decided to write a full guide for it in light of this accomplishment.

My Deck

Note: Giant Skeleton level doesn't matter much. The most important one to keep high is Goblin Barrel.

Some may look at that and think, "...uhhhh, isn't that super weak to any deck with Furnace, Wizard, Valkyrie, etc?" but it I because those cards leave people thinking that certain threats are easy to handle that this deck works so well.

Battle Strategy
I don't like how some people do their deck guides, so I'll talk about situations, instead of cards.

At the beginning, like with most decks, you hope for Elixir Collector. This is pretty well understood by everyone, so I won't go into detail. Without one, wait for the opponent to make the first move. Ideally, you want Goblin Barrel and/or Miner. Dropping the Miner on the Collector and Goblins on the Tower can deal massive damage while destroying the Collector. If the opponent drops a Giant, Musketeer, or something that is usually part of a bigger push, then throw Goblin Barrel at the other side, forcing them to commit resources there and making them waste a counter to one of your defences.

When it comes to offensive plays, here are the best combos, in order from cheapest to most expensive:
- Miner+Goblin Barrel (deadly if they don't have Zap in hand)
- Miner+Skeleton Army (usually only used if the Skeletons were already played on defense)
- Miner+Minion Horde (super risky, but can take a tower on its own)
- Giant Skeleton+Skeleton Army (very effective if opponent tries to use Barbarians or Mini PEKKA to kill Giant Skeleton)
- Giant Skeleto+Goblin Barrel+Minion Horde (Minion Horde handles Inferno Tower, small troops, etc. and the Goblin Barrel racks in the damage) (I refer to it as the Wombo)
- Any combo with glass cannons (Goblin Barrel, Minion Horde, Skeleton Army) and something to tank for them (Giant Skeleton or Miner) will work.

With this deck, it is essential to know your opponent's deck. This is why it took me to the top of a serious tournament (predictable metas), while failing in the forum cup, where people were much more creative. Generally, if they use Poison and Zap (or even better, just Zap), then you can consistently punish them for using these spells on lesser threats. As far as splash damage troops go, your main power cards (Barbarians, Minion Horde, and Skeleton Army) can handle them if used properly.
Wizard - Both Barbarians and Skeleton Army take him out of placed in him.
Ice Wizard - Shockingly, Skeleton Army can win against a defensive Ice Wizard if something distracts the tower. The other two can handle him well, too.
Witch - A serious problem. Barbarians are your best bet, but he careful of timing.
Valkyrie - The biggest problem. Distracting her with one of the tanks (Miner, Giant Skeleton) works, and Minion Horde does, too.

This deck is extremely offensive. Almost every match I lost a tower, but it is amazing at taking them out for two crowns. With one tower down, making a distraction and placing Giant Skeleton right in the middle can fairly consistently get his bomb off on the tower. My favorite is Goblin Barrel. As it moves across the stage, they think "ehh, I'll let my two Crown Towers handle it." Right before it lands, a Giant Skeleton is placed in the range of both Towers. They panic to kill the Goblins, and they fail to stop the Giant Skeleton before it takes a few steps and locks onto the tower.

Another thing to note with this deck is the Spirits. They are deadly to this deck, but preventable with good predictions. If they use them twice on your Minion Horde from the same position, you can get Miner to appear right where they are about to be placed, taking them out and starting to tank for the Horde. If one tower is down, a Giant Skeleton in the middle can distract them, and if they are extremely predictable (and your push is worth it), just use perfectly timed Arrows.

This deck also relies on Double-Lane pushing. If you drop a Giant Skeleton in the back for preparation for the Wombo, and a Hog Rider with Fire Spirits goes down the other lane, wait for the Spirits to slam into the tower, then play Barbarians. Once the Giant Skeleton has reached the bridge, throw a Goblin Barrel or back him up with Skeleton Army or Minion Horde. This leaves your opponent with two threats that are handled with similar cards, and if they only have one of those cards (Valkyrie or Fireball for example), then they get hurt either way.

Anyways, if I left anything unexplained, then let me know, and I'll improve this scatter-brained guide.

Thanks q1a2 for sharing such an useful deck guide with us, this deck first appeared on Clash Royale Community.

Rumors about Overwatch's new stealth hero Sombra have been flying around the net for a while and Blizzard never denied it. Recently there was an image emerged from a Russian forum which was claimed to be the first image of the new hero.

There was a line of description on the image, noting Sombra will be hacking her way into the build later tonight. It probably suggested that the new hero was coming to PTS. The texts on the image go as below.

The forum post was soon deleted, along with the account that's used to posted the leak. So the rumor remains a rumor. But a new hero who can hack and stealth sounds good to me. I can't wait to see what abilities she masters if she's real.

Snail Games released a small batch of Age of Wushu 2's in-game screenshots last month, and the developer just got two more for you. Like last time, the new screenshots are about the plants, the part the developer is proud of (you can see why at this post). Don't forget to click the image for the high resolution version.

Age of Wushu 2 is not a sequel of Age of Wushu. The Unreal Engine 4 sandbox MMORPG stresses on survival gameplay and freedom in exploration. Martial arts, quests, and Wuxia are still in Age of Wushu 2 but they don't define the game like the survival elements do.
