Smilegate's CrossFire 2 will be a very different and evolved game compared with CrossFire. The new project will be
co-developed by Smilegate and Remedy Entertainment (developer of Alan Wake and Quantum Break), and it aims at offering 3A console title's story. We just had the opportunity to interview Ina Jang, CEO of Smilegate, who talked more about CrossFire 2, their cooperation with Remedy, CrossFire movie, and CrossFire mobile game, etc.

What's the relation between CrossFire and CrossFire 2?
The success of CrossFire have cast expectation for both of us on CrossFire 2. CrossFire 2 continues CrossFire's core IP DNA, and we will work with global premium game development company Remedy Entertainment to add the new combat mode. Related content will be officially announced to the public after all the relevant details are confirmed. Please stay tuned on CrossFire 2.
Why do you partner with Remedy to develop CrossFire 2? In the development, what are Smilegate and Remedy responsible of separately?
In Western Europe, Remedy Entertainment has showed its premium action game development capabilities through the development of Alan Wake and Quantum Break. We do have confidence in the developing capabilities of Remedy Entertainment in games and will also fully support and help Remedy entertainment to have full play in the CrossFire 2 development procedure.
Remedy Entertainment will be responsible for the personal combat in CrossFire 2 which will provide users with the best gaming experience. The partnership with Remedy Entertainment will help SmileGate strengthen its position in the global market, especially in Western Europe.

Smilegate will cooperate with Windplay to release the ARPG mobile version game of CrossFire. Why do you develop ARPG version, not FPS? What’s the biggest selling point of this mobile game?
CrossFire has announced a lot of action mobile games, meanwhile, many new games will be launched soon. But we believe it is not necessarily action games that bring users fun. As long as with CrossFire core IP DNA, it can also bring our users fun even if it is not one of the action games. So ARPG version CrossFire can also be full of charm.
There are more and more FPS games and gamers in the market. Is Smilegate worrying about the challenge and competition from other games, like Overwatch?
There were indeed some concerns when Overwatch had its debut in the market. But there were also many challenges faced by CrossFire long before the launch of Overwatch. New games continue emerging in the gaming market and we deem that as challenges and competitions. We will keep providing fresh new experience to users. As always, we believe we will be the final winner through these competitions and challenges.
What’s the backstory of CrossFire movie? If Smilegate are going to pick the cast, who would you choose? (Like famous stars or young actors/actresses? Asian stars or Hollywood stars?)
Original Film mainly focuses on developing blockbusters. CrossFire will be a Real Military Action type movie. As for the actors/actress, we will make the decision after a thoroughly negotiation with the production and film distribution companies.
Tencent has got the license for publishing and operating Lost Ark in China. What status the Korean version and Chinese version are? When will they be released?
Lost Ark is a large game which is now being developed at full strength. Recently it has concluded the first CBT in South Korea. We cannot disclose the specific date now but we hope it will have a great success after it launches in China and South Korea.
