Clash Royale: INNOVATIVE Log + Prince + Hog Rider Deck For Arena 6-9

0
0
Hey Guys! This offensive Ash deck will feature The log card and it will help you construct a series of attacking combinations against your opponent at regular internvals. The reason for this is that this deck comes at a very low average elixer cost of 3.0!

This battle strategy can be used in Arena 7 and higher.

Battle Deck:

The Log + Hog Rider + Minions + Fire Spirit + The Prince + Zap +  Poison Spell + Spear Goblins

Use and role of each card:

1.The Log:

The legendary log card comes at just a small elixir cost of 2. Yes, its a given that that the log card cannot be a substantial attacking force. However, in this deck, the log card can be used in order to ensure counter pushes against your opponent.

The legendary log is used to supplement the two play-makers in this deck-The Prince and the Hog Rider, both of who are weak against cards like the skeletons, skeleton army, goblins etc. The log will ensure that these threats are eliminated, making it an effective card that compliments the others!

2.The Hog Rider:

The Hog Rider is one of the two play makers in this deck. The hog ridercan quickly shift the mach in your favor so ensure that you use this card wisely. The hog rider can get to the towers quick and caused amage.

I would recommend that you assess the cards that are in the possession of your opponent. The hog rider can be sent along with the firespirits if you feel like your opponent is going to use the minions as a counter. You may also use the log in case any other card that is of a significant threat is trying to limit the damage your hog rider combo.

3.Minions:

It is always advisable keep a flying unit in the deck in order to takeout several dangerous ground troops. The minions are a great choice in this deck as the elixir cost is low and so that pressure created from your opponent through ground troops can be counted.

The Minions are however weak against cards like the arrows, fire spirit, baby dragon etc. As far as the baby dragon is concerned, I would suggest distracting the baby dragon with another troop or your own tower and using the minions to take the dragon out quickly. However, the arrows card cannot be countered. You may however try and avoid it by using the minions right after the arrows has been used.Your opponent in this case cannot use the arrows again in a while unless on the rare occasion that he is in possession of the mirror card.

4.Fire Spirit:

The Fire Spirit is specifically in this deck to take out troops like the minions and cause effective damage to other troops like the barbarians, skeleton army etc.

The Fire Spirit is also a low elixir card that will give you an elixir advantage and the advantage to win!

5.The Prince:

The Prince is the second play-maker in this deck. The Prince’s first attacks are the most dangerous as he come in with force. Try to ensure that the prince reaches your opponent’s tower. This can be only be done by providing the prince with the necessary backup.

The Prince is extremely weak against the skeleton army and the barbarians. These can be fairly taken care of with the log and the fire spirit card. The video and the attacking strategy for this deckwill give you more of an insight towards the prince.

6.Zap:

The Zap card can be looked as at that card that can momentarily stop and help in taking out an attacking combination. It is this special quality that makes this card so important!

Troops like the minion horde and the skeleton army are especially vulnerable against them. This will also take care of of those cards that the play-makers are vulnerable against.

7.PoisonSpell:

If you’ve been in Arena 7 for a considerable time now you would have noticed the importance of this card. Simply because of cards like the elixir collector, the miner, the goblin barrel etc.  The poison spell will not only ensure damage but will also remove that eminent threat of your opponent having an elixir advantage over through the collector.

Make sure the area that the poison spell is used within is used to its maximum. You should look to poison as many troops or objects as possible!

8.Spear Goblins:

The Spear goblins form your last troop and they are most effective while causing a collective attacking strategy against your opponent. You can also use this card effectively to take out flying units.

They are also effective as they take shoot their spears from a long range allowing them not be harmed.

Battle Strategy:

Offensive:Hog Rider/ Prince + Log and the fire spirit

This is an offensive strategy in which each card compliments each other. This strategy gives your opponents very little time to react as well!Use the log to eliminate threats that come in the way of the hog rider or the prince, The fire spirit can be a good plus because it will take care of those flying minions if any. In the case that thereare no minions, well it does good damage to the towers neverthe less which makes it a win win situation

Defensive:Minions,  Log, Zap/Fire Spirit etc.

All the above mentioned cards are great for defensive work. Because oftheir low elixir cost, you may also keep building up defensive forces.. The log can look to take care of the ground troops, the zap or the fire spirit can prevent air strikes as well.

Be careful with your defensive choices as each card in this deck is chosen to help you in defending against whatsoever the attack may be.

TIPS:
1.A low average elixer cost can mean piling up troops and creating offensive pushes..
2.Attack one lane while carefully defending the other.
3.As it is acombination strategy remember to use each card to supplement theother.
3.Use your final sixty seconds wisely, don’t let your opponent rush you.
4.Use the Poison spell at its maximum range, poisoning as many as possible!
5.Watching videos and understanding the role and the weaknesses of every card in your deck will greatly help you.
6.Look to win Elixir Trade offs and don’t focus too much on just attacking.
7.Last of all, like I always say, Have fun, share and comment away!

Clash Royale: The Art of Siege Warfare [Decks Attached]

0
0
Hello everyone! With the gradual fall of beatdown decks due to recent nerfs on the meta, the siege archetype is rising once again. Today I will be giving my own interpretation and brief analysis of the strategy behind siege decks. Although this guide is aimed more towards beginner and intermediate players, I nevertheless hope that you will find a few useful points in this post.

First, I will give a brief introduction. I think I am a decent player. I am a level 9 in Arena 9 at 3471 trophies with a mortar deck. I started playing siege decks when I found a reddit thread on Woody's triple legendary mortar deck. I play siege decks because I love playing defense and also because I suck at offense :P

Here is an outline of the points that I'll be focusing on in this post:

What Is Siege?
Analysis On The Attacking Strategy
Analysis On The Defending Strategy
Adapting To Different Play Styles
Conclusion AKA TL;DR

What Is Siege?

In general, siege warfare is an attacking strategy whereby an enemy force surrounds and cuts off essential supplies to their target in order to force a surrender. In Clash Royale, this definition means to deprive your opponent of elixir and throw him/her off a card rotation in order to take out a tower. In other words, you win if you have both an elixir and a card advantage—your opponent plays on your card rotation. This advantage is achieved through a solid defense. Siege decks base their offense off of a defense. By playing a good defense, the player gains an elixir advantage. As a result, the advantage is exploited through a counter push via mortar or X-bow.

Analysis On The Attacking Strategy

The single most important key to winning using the siege strategy is a good defense. In this case, the best offense is an excellent defense. Why is this true? This question goes back to one of the most fundamental principles of Clash Royale. When your opponent attacks, you defend on your side of the map. Therefore, you are always at an advantage when defending because the arena tower(s) will always be firing at the enemy's troops. As a result, you gain an elixir advantage while defending. This is what I mean when I say a "good defense": to gain a direct elixir advantage. The entirety of the attacking strategy for siege decks is based on an elixir advantage. Always place the siege weapon if you have the elixir advantage. Otherwise, it will be hard to defend the mortar/X-bow.

A good defense leads to something that I call the triple advantage loop. This devastating loop is what makes siege decks work. The following advantages can be looped after its initiation through a good defense.

Primary Advantage: Elixir Advantage
This is the most direct advantage gained from a good defense through positive elixir trades. Because a player has an elixir advantage over the opponent, he/she has the ability to play more cards. This benefit leads to the next advantage.

Secondary Advantage: Counterattack Potential
Since a player has more elixir, he/she has a larger potential to throw a counter push at the opponent with a siege building or the second main condition of a deck. A counter push with a mortar or X-bow leads to the third advantage.

Tertiary Advantage: Break a Card Cycle

By placing a mortar or X-bow, the opponent is now forced to play around the player's cycle of cards or else a heavy amount of damage will be dealt on the enemy tower. Thus the opponent will play cards that will be defending against the mortar/X-bow instead of forming a push, throwing him/her off of a card rotation. This gives the player the potential to put the opponent in a bad card rotation.

The tertiary advantage can be looped back to the primary advantage if a player makes positive elixir trades while defending the siege weapon. That is why I call it this a loop. By forcing your opponent to play around your card rotation, it is easier for you to defend your siege weapon and leads to more positive elixir trades! Therefore, each time you initiate a loop, it is easier to continue it. Here's an example: You defend a Giant + Prince push with a Mini Pekka and Skarmy resulting in a 5+5-4-3= +3 primary elixir advantage. Now, you use your secondary advantage and place a mortar with a 3-4= -1 elixir advantage. Your opponent sees the mortar and proceeds to defend by placing a mini P. Now you get the tertiary advantage by placing a tombstone to counter the mini P with a -1+4-3=0 elixir advantage. Your opponent now places a mega minion and takes out the mortar, but your tower deals with it. Now you're at a 0+3=+3 elixir advantage. From this, you hit the tower a few times AND can start the loop a second time. See how it works?

Every time a player goes through the loop, lots of damage is dealt on the tower. The mortar and X-bow diverge based on the amount of damage dealt on the tower. The X-bow can take out a tower with one or two loop initiations, but starting the loop is harder due to its cost and how hard it is to lock onto the tower. On the other hand, the mortar may take 3 or 4 loop initiations to take out a tower, but it is a lot easier to start a loop and to lock onto a tower due to its low cost and blind range.

There are two ways that your opponent can break the loop in order to save the arena tower. First, the opponent can just ignore the siege weapon and start a push from the back. Note that this can only happen when the siege weapon is the mortar since the X-bow can not be ignored due to its ability to take out a tower by itself. If this is the case and you are running a siege hybrid deck (you have a second win condition that isn't a spell), pressure the other lane as usual then defend with positive elixir trades in order to initiate the triple advantage loop again. If you are running a pure siege deck, then defend to the best of your ability. If you gain an elixir advantage, then start the loop again. If not, continue defending until you can. The second way the loop can be broken is if you lose the elixir advantage either because you ran through the loop until there is no longer an elixir advantage or you messed up defending the siege weapon. In this case, just defend until you have an elixir lead and initiate the loop again.

Remember, the loop can only be initiated through a solid defense.

Analysis on the Defending Strategy

In the Siege play style, defending is the single most important aspect. Defending is used for three main purposes:

Defending on Your Side of the Map
This is a standard strategy for all types of decks in defense. For our purposes, it is used to gain an elixir advantage in order to start a loop. Here, the defender has the advantage due to the damage dealt by the arena tower(s). Using techniques such as pulling/luring/kiting will help you defend for positive elixir trades. Note that troops are used to lure/pull while the arena tower deals damage.

Defending on The Bridge
This scenario only happens when a siege weapon is placed to attack the enemy tower. Use this strategy when you're aiming to get some damage done after gaining an elixir advantage. In this case, neither the defender nor the attacker has the advantage. Thus we can create a pseudo-advantage. Consider the placement of your opponent’s troops not as to defend against your siege weapon, but as an attack on your arena tower. Therefore, we can reverse the roles in the previous purpose. Instead of having the troops to lure/pull, have the siege weapon lure/pull the enemy troops and have the troops deal the damage. In other words, we imitate the "defender's advantage" by reversing the roles of the troops/tower.

The Turtle
This defensive strategy is used either to secure a win after taking out a tower or to get a draw. Most siege decks have at least two buildings, so it is easy to stall/defend for a long time. Remember to be elixir efficient to defend as long as possible.

Defending is essential to executing the attacking strategy.

Adapting to Different Play Styles

Every opponent that you face will be different. Therefore, you cannot expect to be able to counter every person you face. Every deck has a weakness, so your siege weapon will not always work. Strong counters to siege weapons such as the Royal Giant may give you a hard time playing the mortar/X-bow. Furthermore, the ideas above are theoretical and probably only work about 80% of the time. Therefore, it is paramount that you switch to your second win condition as soon as you realize that your main win condition won't work. As a general rule of thumb, always adapt to your opponent's play style and exploit his/her weakness.

Conclusion AKA TL;DR

Unlike beatdown decks, the siege archetype is heavily reliant on defense. Every good defense leads to three advantages: elixir advantage, counterattack potential, and breaking a cycle. These three advantages can be looped as long as a good defense has positive elixir trades. Therefore, don't overcommit your elixir on defense. Be elixir efficient! There are three main defensive strategies used: defending on your side of the map (used to gain elixir advantage), defending on the bridge (use elixir advantage to damage towers), and turtling (pure defense to secure win/draw).

Well, that's it! These are some basics on the Siege archetype. I hope you learned something and apply it to your gameplay. I hope to make more guides in the future :)

5 Old Titles Worthy of an HD Remaster

0
0

Recently I`ve participated in a Reddit discussion about the possibility for HD remaster of the first Guild Wars game. Now people want different things from HD remasters, some want just updated graphics, some don’t mind graphics, but want new content for the game and then there are people that want everything redone in a new engine, but with a same feel and story. To be honest, it is really hard to please everyone and that is why developers often stay away from HD remaster of old fan favorite games.

But none the less this got me thinking about what other brilliant games are suited for an HD relaunch. And that’s how I came up with this list of five old-school titles that are in dire need of graphics, engine and compatibility updates.

Guild Wars

First on the list is Guild Wars, of course, the game that got me thinking about this topic in the first place. Guild Wars is a masterpiece of the game and so are rest on this list, but this game is special. The first Guild Wars game was ahead of its time and had some great and innovative mechanics. It had some cool ideas like multi-class character system, great storylines, etc. I would love to see the return of these mechanics, but more polished and balanced. Imagine all of this on today’s game engines with high-res textures and animations.

If I was asked to bring back Guild Wars I wouldn’t change anything, except some tweaks to the UI and of course graphics. In this Reddit post, I saw that developers are interested in doing such a remaster, but only if enough people are interested. We don’t know how many people is enough, but let’s hope that they read Reddit and forums because I saw a lot of pleads and cries for this.

EverQuest

Next up is EverQuest. This game has a huge following and with a reason. It’s one of the most popular and well-known MMOs in the world with an enormous player base in its prime. This game is really old with an official launch in 1991, the core game mechanics are dated and would probably need a complete overhaul on top of the graphical update. This would be an expensive and hard to execute project, but one can hope. With same lore and storyline, difficulties and modernization of gameplay I think that this game would be a smashing hit amongst the nostalgic old players and players new to this franchise.

The sad truth is that the remaster is nowhere in the sights. The closest we got to EverQuest rework was EverQuest Next. Technically, this wasn’t a rework or remaster at all, but a spiritual successor to the original. It promised all the mechanics of the first game, but better and improved and of course, a couple of new features. We even saw some trailers and alpha footage of the game, but sadly everything was scraped and the game was canceled.

World of Warcraft

This is a difficult one because Blizzard still releases expansions for it. World of Warcraft is an old game, it runs on an old engine and has some limitations. But what Blizzard has done with it in the last couple of expansions is nothing but amazing. Technically, they release texture updates and HD reworks of some areas with every new expansion, but what I had in mind was a complete engine overhaul similar one to StarCraft 2 transition from the original StarCraft. I know that this probably has the smallest chances of happening, but I just needed to put it on the list.

I will say one thing, big props to Blizzard. They did an amazing visual update in the Legion expansion with a lot of abilities getting new effects, faces got updated and of course, the world textures were polished. This game despite its age, looks amazing. The big helping factor is that WoW has a very cartoony and fantasy style.

Diablo 2

Again a Blizzard game. What can I say, they make some great MMOs worthy of a remaster. Everybody probably expected for Diablo 2 to be on this list and to be honest, this was the first game that popped into my head when I started brainstorming for this article. The game is just right for an HD rerelease. It has perfect gameplay, amazing story, huge fan base and old graphics that are hardly supported on new computers. Also, his successor, Diablo 3, was a hit on consoles and console players didn’t have a chance to play Diablo 2 so a remastered version could be sold on them too to make even more profits.

As for the gameplay, I think that nothing should be changed, everything still holds up except the graphics. They can add some new features I don’t mind that, but the core experience should remain as the original. Additionally, some rumors were floating around that Blizzard might have some big announcement for Diablo on this year’s Blizzcon. Its 20th anniversary of the first Diablo game and let’s hope that they announce a remaster for both Diablo and Diablo 2.

Dark Age of Camelot

The last choice on my list might be odd to some and maybe not many have played it, but this game was the bomb back in the day. It released in 2001 and was an immediate hit in Europe and North America. Dark Age of Camelot was inspired by Arthurian lore, Norse mythology and Irish Celtic legends with a bit of high fantasy on top. A perfect recipe for an MMORPG in my opinion. This game runs on an old engine and graphics are pretty dated, but despite that the game receives regular updates, one update even launched ten days ago.

It is clear that the current developers from the Broadsword Online Games plan to update and keep alive this game, but in my opinion complete graphic overhaul would be amazing. They have already changed some gameplay features to be more on par with modern games and the only thing that is left is to make a complete HD remaster, fingers crossed. Also, there has been some controversy among the developers and one of the original ones decided to leave and create his own remake of Dark Age of Camelot. This game is called Camelot Unchained and promises to be a worthy successor to the original. Who knows, maybe that is the HD remaster we were waiting for.

That is all from me. I hope you guys had fun reading the article and that I’ve reminded you of some old gaming gems. If you are nostalgic like me and want to see some HD remasters than comment down below and share with me what are your games worthy of an HD remake. I would gladly read them and see if I missed out on something.

Age of Wushu 2 Unveils Interesting Gathering, Crafting and Survival Tools

Since Age of Wushu 2 is a survival MMORPG, the game features a lot of tools used for gathering, crafting and surviving in the wildness. The developer Snail Games today unveiled some of the tools players will be using in the game.

Being a sandbox survival MMORPG, you have the freedom to become any role in the game world. If you are doing farming today, you are a farmer, and if you are making a sword tomorrow, you are a blacksmith — of course you will need the right tool to be able to do so. However, you won't be marked as farmer or blacksmith or any other roles in the game.

Hoe (left) and stone pickaxe (right)
Stone pickaxe can be used for quarrying, hoe can be used for farming, and axe is for tree logging. These tools can do other things just like they can in the real life. In Age of Wushu 2, if you use stone pickaxe to quarry, you usually get rubbles, but if you use axe, you can get large rocks. You may ask can I use these gathering tools to fight my enemy? The answer is yes, so it will be interesting to explore the use of different tools in the game.

Ancient Chinese match and torch

The night in Age of Wushu 2 will be very dark and a torch will do a lot of help to those come out at night (moonlight will also provide you a glimmer of light). Ancient Chinese matches are used to ignite things and it can also provide some temporary light. Torch is an important tool and it's very easy to make in the game. You can use torch to light up your path, you can also use it to fight beasts like wolves in the darkness. You can use torch in the rainy day, according to Snail Games.

Hook rope
In Chinese martial arts novels, hook rope is a frequently used tool to climb the walls. In Age of Wushu 2, hook rope requires pretty lot of materials to craft: iron bars, logs, leather, and hemp cords, etc. Since you can build your own walls so make it high enough if you need to protect your home from being penetrated. If you have enough materials you can also add spikes to the walls.

Ancient Chinese shackle
Ancient Chinese shackle is a handcuff that you can use to take other players and NPCs who are in coma into custody. You can make shackles with logs and leather on a carpenter work station. Once a player is put on shackles, he can move but cannot use item or ability, all he can do is waiting for a friend who can pick a lock to help you out. There are similar tools such as cage in the game.

Meteor hammers

You can see meteor hammers as a weapon and you may see this thing in some Chinese martial arts films. In Age of Wushu 2, meteor hammer is mainly used for hunting: the hammers can twine the legs of your target and disable it. Certainly it can be used to attack other players and NPCs.

The game has a lot of tools, most of which can be used in different places for different purposes. If you are interested in this game, read more at the game hub.
