Paladins has already earned its place on the market now, having a decent community around it two months after it was released. And between the different events to come, regular updates, and the excellent work made towards its progressive improvements, the game should over time have a larger playerbase.
The game modes
Two game modes are available at the moment.
The Siege: This mode consists of a simple takeover of a capture point. You will have to maintain your position in the zone to reveal a payload that you will then have to escort him to the enemy base. If the opposing team capture the point before you, it is you who will have to attack the payload and the players escorting it.
The winning team is chosen when either of them reaches 4 points.
If you ever have 3 points, you can only earn a 4th point by successfully capturing a control point, or successfully escorting a payload to the enemy’s base.
The Payload: This mode consists of an attack team and a defense team. The goal of the defense team is to escort the payload as far as possible for as long as they can while defending from attackers. The goal of the attack team is to stop the payload as fast as possible. The roles are then switched, and the new attack team will have to stop the payload faster than the opponents did in the previous game.
The Decks
In Paladins, you can customize a Champion with cards, providing various effects and building up your "deck".
At the beginning of each game, you can choose a deck for your character: either a basic one or a deck created by you. To create a deck, simply move to the desired champion and choose the cards you want.
To improve a deck, you can buy cards with in-game currency, or from chests when you level up. However, certain rules must be followed:
The classes
There are currently four character classes:
Damage: There are the characters who make consistent and regular damage. They possess a decent defense and can fight most enemies head-on.
Support: Their main role to care for and assist teammates with buffs and heals.
Front-Linner: These are the characters who are there to defend capture points, using shields and absorbing the damage.
Flank:These characters basically assassins. They possess a low defense but can deal devastating damage in bursts.
Each character has its strengths and weaknesses. In the same class, characters can be completely different and offer a gaming experience you do not expect. The best advice I can give you is to play a few games with each character.
Items and Skill System
Our next guide will details everything you need to know about the items in Paladins, as well as the Skill System and how it affects each champion.

- Each card has a level that you can set. This goes from I to IV, the higher the level, the greater the effect.
- Each card level counts for one point.
- You will need 5 cards for a total of 12 points. It is your responsibility to distribute them as you see fit.
