Black Desert - Important Things You Must Know About the NA/EU Megaservers

$
0
0
The New World, or the megaservers will be live on December 1, and all Black Desert players in NA and EU are able to play in one megaserver in their region. In other words, Black Desert western version now has two megaservers, one for the North America and the other one for Europe.

A maintenance will start on November 30 (you can see the exact time below), and Kakao Games advices all players to select a Home Server before the maintenace, because
the system "tracks the last server you have logged out of, which then sets this as the current Home Server." The maintenance is expected to last aproximately 13 hours, so you will need to wait a bit longer.

The Maintenance times for additional clarity are as follows:
  • PST: 11am (Wed, November 30th) -> 12am [Midnight] (Thu, December 1st)
  • CST: 1pm (Wed, November 30th) -> 2am (Thu, December 1st)
  • EST: 2pm (Wed, November 30th) -> 3am (Thu, December 1st)
  • CET: 20:00 (Wed, November 30th) -> 09:00 (Thu, December 1st)
  • UTC: 19:00 (Wed, November 30th) -> 08:00 (Thu, December 1st)
Choosing a home server is very important and it will affect the following:
- The selected Home Server will determine which characters are considered your primary play characters; it will also directly influence which guild your character will belong to;
- It will determine which nodes are kept, the nodes in the Home Server are kept; nodes from other servers are converted to Contribution Point EXP, and are added to the Home Server's Contribution Point EXP;
- It will also determine which contribution exp is used as the total amount, and the rest of the servers are converted into Contribution EXP, and get merged into the Home Servers total experience. The serverAct fast before is not too late!

While Gala Lab is working on the Flyff Legacy mobile MMO based on Flyff IP, Webzen is preparing something new for Flyff Online, the PC MMORPG launched in the west in 2005. That includes a new EU server "Meteonyker", and the new schedule of the NA and EU server merge.

Back in September, Webzen announced that 2 NA servers will merge with the EU server located in German. Now it's comfirmed that the server merge is postponed to early 2017. According to Webzen, this delay "is not related to the launch of the Meteonyker server, and is mainly due to technical issues encountered in the QA phase of the project."

Atom Catch Catch: A Decent Game With a Poor Choice for a Mascot

$

Atom: Catch Catch is an decent game with social MMO type of elements as well as a few poor choices. Having Astro Boy, as he is known in the US, was a bad choice. In the end, this seemingly cash grabbing game actually has some good choices. Overall though, it may only appeal to younger ones.

I uploaded a video of me just starting off to show you some gameplay.

With an auto quest feature, a pokemon type feel with the monsters, some unique leveling abilities and the now standard gatcha, it's not a bad game in it's self. Level choices, variety in animals to capture, and the art style is even decent. Over all, I can tell what Longtu Games is trying to do. Not knowing what to do with a character, and trying to appeal to kids, They have made a game that has brought a lot of criticism over their choices, but, as you can see, there are a lot of ones playing this game any way. And for Longtu Games, that's all any Developer wants.

As always, comments are always welcome. What do you think about Atom: Catch Catch? Is the criticism warrented? Or do you think it's nonsense?

Lineage Eternal: 2014 VS 2016 UI Comparison Indicates the Game Has Changed a Lot

Lineage Eternal first closed beta finally starts today in South Korea, and it's been 5 years since the debut in 2011. The gameplay has been overhauled, with the role-playing experience being changed from Diablo style to Granado Espada style.

If you take a look at the UI in 2014, you can see the game was about controlling one character to explore and fight.

Now take a look at the UI in 2016, you can see the game allows you to press F1, F2, F3, F4 to switch between 4 selected heroes.

I will update the Lineage Eternal CBT1 information on this page. If you are interested, check back regulary for new updates.

Lineage Eternal Doesn't Actually Has Granado Espada's Squad System

$
0
0
When we first saw Lineage Eternal's Eternal system we thought it was like Granado Espada where you can take control of a squad of 4 Eternal heroes and switch between them. In fact it's not like that at all. You don't have a squad to lead and you still control a single character.

The twist is you have up to 4 Eternal heroes in your party but each time you can only summon and control one. You can switch between the 4 heroes depending on your tactics and the enemies you are dealing with. However, at early game players usually will stick to one or two heroes even they have recruited 5 or 6 heroes. Because each hero is progressed separately and (turns out character level is shared across all heroes so you don't level up separately) they have to equip their own gear, new player has to spend a lot of time to gather the entire set of gear for each hero.

In the dungeon you can't switch heroes anymore, and perhaps in PvP you would get similar restriction. Tell me what you think.

I will update the Lineage Eternal CBT1 information on this page. If you are interested, check back regulary for new updates.

[VR2Play] Ark Park Exclusive Preview - Snail Games' Jurassic World in VR

Days ago we reported that Snail Games to publish  Ark: Survival Evolved in China. Today Snail Games extended the cooperation with Wildcard by unveiling a brand new VR game called Ark Park, which allows players to roam around the Jurassic themepark and interact with different dinosaurs.

You can feed dinosaurs from Ark: Survival Evolved

Licensed by Studio Wildcard, Ark Park is developed by Snail Games themeselves. The game is apparently based on Ark: Survival Evolved and it features various dinosaurs in that sandbox survival game. Instead of hunting dinosaurs, players can expect to interact with more than 100 dinosaurs in Jurassic Period and other creatures in their natural habits. Regardless of what they look like in Ark: Survival Evolved, all creatures in Ark Park is not hostile and they won't attack you. You can interact with them by feeding them and throwing food to them.

The game is non-linear

What’s more, Players will be able to explore and approach every single detail in the virtual space at their own pace instead of taking a linear tour. Every area in the park has unique environment and hidden contents waiting to be discovered. In terms of control, you will use the controller to teleport from spot to spot to move. Last but not least, the game has weather system and day/night cycle.

The game world will greatly expand in the future

At launch, Ark Park's world can't be comparable to that of Ark: Survival Evolved. However, the game will add new areas in the future and greatly expand the game world, just like the 2015 Hollywood film Jurassic World, Snail Games told us. Ark Park will become a huge world set on an island and has multiple open world areas for players to explore.

Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Ark Park will provide players a visual feast that's on the same level to games like Dark and Light. Players will be able to experience a visceral gameplay, the thrill of seeing dinosaurs up-close like they are actually there.

Snail Games hasn't announced anything regarding which VR platforms the game will support, and they haven't decided the business model either. While asked about whether Ark Park will feature cross-play or certain connection with Ark: Survival Evolved, Snail Games said they were considering about it but they didn't have any detail to share at the moment.

Clash Royale Xbow Siege Deck Guide - Grand Challenge Winner!

$

Hello clashers! This is KairosTime coming out with a deck guide on a deck that I won a Grand Challenge with, along with another Classic Challenge! I’ve been using this deck above 4k trophies in the ladder for awhile now and if played right, it can destroy any deck type!

I’ll be explaining how to play the Xbow Siege playstyle so that you can win your own challenges as well!

Here is a video of the Grand and Classic challenge winning replays:

For those of you that want lots of replays against lots of types of decks, here’s a video without commentary, but lots of replays:

The cards:

Legendary Replacement:

The Log - Switch this for Zap if you don’t have it. The Log and Zap don’t work exactly the same, but your primary concern with this card is Skeleton Army, Goblins, and Goblin Barrel. The Zap does a pretty good job at taking care of these, but The Log does add more versatility.

A note about the Elixir Collector: During my Grand Challenge, I used the Fireball but I found that RG decks were difficult to face, so I switched it for the Elixir Pump and had excellent success using the Pump during my Classic Challenge, and in the Ladder. With the most recent update, I think the Pump is the better choice! You should use the Elixir Collector before 2x Elixir to try and force your opponent to attack when you want them to. This allows you to set up the best cycle in your deck against the counters your opponent has to the Xbow.

Using the Xbow

Playing Siege takes some good skill. It requires you to know the counters to Xbow very well, and have a way to defend against those counters fairly easily. In addition, playing with Siege requires that you remember what cards your opponent has, and for you to be more aware of what cards they have in their cycle more than any other type of playstyle. This takes some practice, but if you get the hang of it, it is a powerful deck even in this tank-heavy meta we’re experiencing.

Setting up the Xbow: This isn’t as simple as dragging and dropping! Although this can take your opponent off guard, it is much better to set up the Xbow with added support or when you have an elixir advantage. My favorite card to start out with is the Ice Golem behind the King’s tower. It’s not an expensive investment, and gives you plenty of time to get things set up. If you don’t have the Ice Golem, a Mega Minion is a good option as well. The best opening hand will include the Mega Minion, Ice Golem, and Xbow so you can build up a push and defend as well, if needed. Once the Ice Golem or Mega Minion is right where you’ll drop your Xbow, put down the Xbow and be prepared to protect your Xbow by all means necessary, since your opponent will likely try to take it out as quickly as they can!

Protecting your Xbow: Once you know what counters your opponent has in their deck to your Xbow, it’s all about being prepared for your answers to their counters before your opponent knows what’s happening. Here are some common Xbow counters, and what you should do to protect your Xbow:
  • Inferno Tower - Prematurely drop the Skeleton Army, Ice Golem, or Mega Minion
  • Barbarians - Fire Spirits and The Log, or Fireball
  • Minions - Mega Minion or Fire Spirits
  • Mega Minion - Ice Golem as a distraction, paired with Mega Minion or Fire Spirits + Mega Minion
  • Minion Horde - Be prepared to drop Fire Spirits as soon as their Horde drops, or the Fireball
  • Skeleton Army - Use the Ice Golem preemptively, or be prepared with The Log
  • Hog Rider - The Log and Mega Minion, or Skeleton Army
  • Big Tanks - Set up your Xbow at the bridge when you’re almost exactly at 10 Elixir, and the Inferno Tower to the side of it as soon as you can! If you’re in 2x Elixir, you’ll even have enough Elixir to use the Log to push the tank onto the Inferno Tower. You can also use the Skeleton Army if your opponent’s Zap or Log are out of rotation.

Turtling: Turtling is when you place your Xbow in the back to be used as an added defense. This is your defensive stance to be used when you have a bad deck cycle and can’t keep up with your opponent, or if your opponent has a really tanky deck (Giant Bowler, Golem, Royal Giant, etc.). Turtling allows you to force your opponent to play the way you want them to play. I’ve found one of the best ways to take out heavy decks is to cycle between an offensive position and the turtling position. Turtling is almost essential if you’re going to beat a Royal Giant deck. Also, I use this when my opponent has a bigger push built up, and I’m not ready to rush the other lane. An Xbow paired up with an Inferno Tower can usually stop any large push.

Matchup:

Hog Rider - If you have a good cycle, this won’t be too hard to defend. Just remember their counters, and be prepared for The Log, Mega Minion, Skeleton Army, or Fireball when you need it.

Giant Decks - Place your Inferno Tower to the side of the bridge first, and then place the Xbow 1 square back in line with the Bridge. Be prepared with the Skeleton Army for when your opponent Zaps the Inferno Tower. You can also push the Giant into the Inferno Tower using The Log, preserving your Xbow’s health. If your opponent has Giant Bowler, cycle between Turtling and the offensive position.

Royal Giant - Switching between Turtling and the offensive placement of the Xbow is almost always necessary against Royal Giant decks. If you don’t have the time to turtle, try to force your opponent to play the Royal Giant before you place the Xbow so you can place the Xbow when the Royal Giant isn’t in rotation. Another thing you can do is drop the Xbow into position first, and the Inferno Tower to the side of it right after. Hopefully, your opponent will drop the Royal Giant into a position where it’ll target the Inferno Tower instead of the Xbow.

Golem Decks - Turtle, bridge, turtle, bridge. Use the Fireball to get rid of masses of troops in one blow. By doing this, Golem Decks actually aren’t too difficult to handle.

Lavahound Decks - The best thing to do is to drop your Xbow on the opposite lane of the Lavahound and protect it until it targets the Tower. As soon as it’s done this, focus on taking out the Lavahound. If needed, you can Turtle by using the Xbow as a tank, and the Inferno Tower to clear the Hound while your Xbow gets rid of ground troops like Miners, Ice Golems, and Tombstones.

Thank you so much for reading this guide! I hope you learned something and enjoyed the guide. If you have any questions at all, feel free to leave it as a comment in my video and I’ll respond as soon as I can: https://youtu.be/2WpRYLoHg20, https://youtu.be/vChutSHxF84

ArcheAge, You Should Give It Another Try

$

0
(Warning, this article will contain my personal story with ArcheAge, and might stray off topic for a bit.)

Archeage was easily one of the most hyped MMORPG’s of the last 10 years. Everyone thought it would be the genre’s messiah, and for a while it was. Indeed, the Alpha version of the game was close enough to perfection. The game was so enjoyable that a lot of players, myself included, ended up getting the $150 founder pack. It started getting it’s issues after the official release, but even then it was still fun. I never regretted buying it, and even now I don’t. So what went wrong?

First of all, Trion went back on their own words regarding their no tricks, to traps policy. Defend them as you wish, but they went back on this promise when they started including items they swore would never appear in the cash shop, turned craftable items into cash shop items, and even failed to deliver a founder pack reward (cash shop discount). They recently even, intentionally or not, admitted that the game was Pay-to-Win.

Next was it’s tagline that most of you should be familiar with now: Craft, Claim, Conquer. Sure you can craft, but are greatly limited by rare ingredients and absurd profession requirements (alchemy being worse off than the other professions). Claim? If you don’t want to spend hundreds of gold to buy some land, you can always go on a dead server to find some. As for conquering, it did exist for a while. But soon enough, you had to swipe your credit card to upgrade your gear and be good enough.

But in all honesty, while the above have been annoying, I wouldn’t have left if it was all about that. My main issue was with how they managed the launches and updates. The early access for founders was bad enough. I was stuck in a queue from day one, and was disconnected twice before being able to make it in. And that was all after the launcher itself had an error. You’ll have guessed it, by the time I was in the game, the land I wanted was all gone, and I had to settle for my third choice. But I still stuck around. This happens with nearly every new MMO.

A few days later, the game went launched for free players as well. Honestly, no one expected it to go well. We all knew the server would get overpopulated and the queues would be a disaster. But clearly, Trion didn’t, or they simply didn’t care. I’ll be crude, I didn’t care either. While the free players were stuck in their queues of 2000 - 3000 players, I was rather comfortable in my patron one. They even made it so that you kept your slot in the game if you got disconnected, so the experience wasn’t entirely bad for me.

What really went wrong was Auroria. I had been excited about this update for weeks. I wanted it to happen ASAP. I sold all my land with the desire to relocate there, and spent gold on buying designs and materials. On the promised day I was both excited and nervous. I knew I would probably have to fight to CLAIM some land, but I was confident I could do it. But of course, things didn’t go as planned. I still don’t get how they managed to mess up an update that was already live in other versions of the game, but they did. Myself and a number of other players were unable to login. The issue went on for hours, and by the time we were finally able to get on, all the land was gone. I was upset, bitter. A whole week of preparation and I ended up with nothing. So I left. I gave away the Apex I had left, some of my gear, and worker’s compensation pots.

Then, a couple of weeks ago I was looking for a game to write about. ArcheAge popped up, and I figured I’d check if there was any worthy topic. I expected nothing out of the game. I didn’t even expect my account to even be alive. But it was. So I took out my clipper on a sail for old times’ sake. And without exaggerations, that was the most fun I’ve had in a MMO, or any online game for that matter, these last two years. The freedom to explore, my ships, the rewarding feeling of completing a trade run, I was immediately drawn back to it all. It took a few weeks of convincing, but I managed to get my friends to give it a try with me, and it has been a great experience so far. I remembered all about why I loved the game. I also realized that I didn’t leave because I didn’t like the game. I left because I didn’t like the way Trion had handled it.

My return was also rewarded with a number of Homecoming gifts (most having a timer of 30mins), including Heroic equipment, an Apex Squall, and Fishing Longliner, and so on.

So yes, if you are one of those that left the game for any reason whatsoever give it another try, preferably before the 3.0 launch so that you can have a good idea of the end game and decide if you would like to invest your time into the game again.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard made its VR debut during E3 2016. It’s an exclusive offer for PS VR. Previous Resident Evil titles were scary enough as it was but add in virtual reality and it takes it to the next level of terrifying. Recently Capcom held an press event in Japan, inviting media from all over the world to experience the latest beta version. Check the gameplay video below.

Based on various previews , it seems that Capcom will make this series return to its horror roots. The first-person works wonders for Resident Evil’s core philosophy: the sense of powerlessness. Ethan, the main character who travels to Dulvey to look for his missing wife, just like normal people. He cannot jump obstacles or move objects and can barely defend himself. In the game, each major location is occupied by one of Baker’s family member.

There's physically imposing father Jack, screeching mother Marguerite and unhinged yokel son Lucas. Most of the time fleeing is the first and best option. Therefore, the in-game camera is very useful when players want to hide away from enemies. With PlayStation VR’s headtracking system, players can peek around the corner to make sure when is the best time to fleet.

Resident Evil 7 will be released on January 24th, 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Overwatch Competitive Play Season 3 has begun! Before you crack your knuckles and kick off your placement matches, here’s a quick overview of what's new in Competitive Play.

Off-Season Play

If you’re an avid player, you undoubtedly noticed that Competitive Play wasn’t completely disabled when Season 2 ended last week. Instead, it was replaced with an Off-Season mode, which allows you to continue using the Competitive Play ruleset without your skill rating being affected.

This gives everyone the freedom to break away from the meta and experiment with new hero combinations and strategies without having to worry about being moved to a lower tier. Players in the Diamond, Master, and Grandmaster tiers can also take a week-long breather and avoid any skill rating decay.

Blizzard Entertainment is expecting each off-season to last about seven days, after which everyone will need to complete their placement matches for the new season.

Skill Rating Changes

After giving the Skill Rating system a major overhaul in Season 2, we noticed both the Gold and Platinum tiers were significantly overpopulated. This meant that some players were initially achieving inappropriately high skill ratings and then experiencing a downward adjustment within the first few matches of the season. This also meant that competition within the Gold and Platinum tiers could vary widely from match to match.

"To address these issues, we’ve made some slight adjustments to the Skill Rating system and, as a result, skill ratings will be more widely distributed across all tiers for Season 3. Many players will be ranked lower than expected after their Season 3 placement matches; however, this should normalize as the season progresses", says Blizzard Entertainment.
