Astro Boy: Edge of Time Is a TCG That Has Humble Beginnings

Astro Boy: Edge of Time Started out as a KickStarter, a crowd funded game that has beautful art and direction. The KickStarter started in August 23rd and stopped on September 20th, a mere 3 days before the deadline. There was no way it would make it's 50,000 dollar goal, as 7,225 dollars were all it was funded. So, following this game, since September, i thought it was dead.

Then, Senpaigamer came out with an article that said that DMM.com is releasing the game in January as a F2P game for mobile phones and PC and the Registration Start's December 5th.
The thing i love about this, is all the characters from Osamu Tezuka's universe are in here redesigned from the best artist's. Confirmed artists include Hiroya Oku (Gantz), Satoshi Yoshioka (SnatcherPolicenauts) and Hiroaki (The King of FightersStreet Fighter 4Advance Wars: Days of Ruin). A teaser website also mentions the participation of Hiroshi Matsuyama (president of CyberConnect2), Seiichiro Hosokawa (.hack series), Nekoshowgun, Goichi "Suda 51" Suda (Grasshopper Manufacture) and musicians Akira Yamaoka and Giovanni Giorgio Moroder.

I am so excited that even those this Kickstarter failed in the beginning, they had determination to keep this game coming and i am so excited to play it.

How do you guys feel about an AstroBoy Trading Card Game? What do you think about the redesign? let me know in the comments.

South Korea Passed a Law Against Game Cheats

Getting banned for cheating in games is not the worst thing that can happen to you if you are living in South Korea. According to PvPlive, the South Korean governmentt has passed an amendment to a law on promoting and protecting the gaming industry. This amendment stipulates that, manufacturing and distributing cheating programs, including aimbots and hacks, for online games, are considered illegal.

In other words, if you decide to share on the internet a script that makes gaming "affordable" to anyone, then
you will not only face a potential accusation from the game studios, but could also get a maximum of 5 years of jail time or $43,000 in fines. A recent example of fighting against the hacks is the case of Overwatch Korea, where Blizzard had to fight back against the players who used hacks with plenty of accounts banned. We can assume that laws like this will be adopted by other states, making the fight against hacks more efficient.

Transformers: Forged to Fight is set to release in early 2017, and its soft launch will come before the end of the year. For what it looks like, Kabam's new fighter will be different from it's other fighter counter part, Marvel's Contest of Champions.

With base building to fight against your enemies. Banding together with others and fight the enemies together.

Being able to collect every hero from the 1980's cartoon to the Michael Bay films and everything in between, this game has so much to do, I have no doubt this game will be good. WIll it appeal to ones in the market to play a F2P game that may or may not be pay 2 win? who knows. Right now, i am super excited for this and i cant wait to play it for myself..

How about you guys and gals? Are you excited to play it? What do you think about Kabam's take on the genere? I'd love to read your comments below.

State of Decay 2 Is Not a PvP Game But Other Players Can Still Make You Die

$

Announced at E3 2016,State of Decay 2 is a co-op zombie survival game with larger scale of the world than that of the original State of Decay. Jeff Strain, the creator behind Diablo II, Warcraft III and Guild War and the founder of Undead Labs, unveiled the upcoming title is not a PvP game but players can still manage to kill each other.

The simple example of this is someone making noise and the zombie simulation responding. You may find yourself in a situation where one of your characters ends up getting killed because your guest made a racket that you couldn't deal with. This goes both ways though. You may end up causing a situation that gets one of your guest's characters killed, permanently.

A more complex example is killing enclave NPCs that aren't a part of your community. There might be great reasons for them to kill those characters or they might just be going Westworld Blackhat on your simulation, but either way you are going to have to deal with the consequences of those actions. In the case of killing members of an NPC enclave, your relationship with that enclave is most likely going to become incredibly hostile and they may attack your community on sight. Now you have to decide how you want to handle that situation.

It's very encouraging to hear them say they will reinforce their commitment to what is already loved about the game. The move away from the first game's CryEngine-based technology to State of Decay 2's Unreal Engine 4 underpinnings will provide higher resolution environments and characters with more sophisticated lighting, shaders, and effects.

The game is scheduled to be released in 2017 for Microsoft Windows and the Xbox One.

Need for Speed: Edge is a Frostbite 3 racing MMO developed by EA's Spearhead Studios, and the game will be published in China by Tencent Games. We just learned from Tencent that the game will include hundreds of sports cars from the entire series.

If you don't know, each Need for Speed game features dozens of cars but never has such a big car list. Tencent said to us that this is like you can drive almost all Need for Speed cars in one game. What's more, Edge is the first game in the series that allows players to trade cars with each other. How does it work? According to Tencent, in car trading, all upgrades and customizations on the car will be removed. So players are buying the original car and they won't be able to buy the fastest/most powerful cars with money.

At the upcoming Tencent Games Carnival 2016 (TGC 2016), Tencent may reveal more details such as the pursuit mode, car upgrade and customization, and online car racing, etc.

Studying magic from an early age, she has focused her efforts into condensing magic into materials. After countless failures, she was finally successful in bringing some of her eccentric ideas to reality. Her magic equipment enables her to release lethal spells in a flash.

Seraphina: Seraphina is a warrior with a very strong sense of justice. She is extremely proud of her two golden wings, which she claims to have been blessed by a sacred altar during one of her adventures. The blessing grants the wings not only a glamorous look, but also immense power that can even defy death. It does not matter if she truly gained the power from an altar, it only matters that she has decided to use the power to uphold justice and peace in Elysium.

Melody: Like Holy Keeper, Melody comes from the Angel City of Lordran. It is a both populous and popular city because the hot weather there does not allow the priestesses-in-training to wear much cloth. A little different to what Holy Keeper studied during magic school, Melody devoted herself to the power of music and healing. Her sweet voice can mend even the most grievous wounds.

Frost Heiress: Frost Heiress is the Heiress of the northern Ice Citadel. She uses her trusty bow to pierce enemies with arrows of ice and always fights with her loyal companion - a massive polar warbear. As the heiress of Ice Citadel, she commands absolute respect from others, especially from women.

Medusa: She is one of the most mysterious assassins in Elysium. No one that has seen her true face has lived to tell about it. It is said that she is the offspring of the Queen of the Gorgons. Now she has decided to emerge from the night and show the demons what true terror is.

Check out our new Heroes and see how they can fit in your formation and win you the advantage on the battlefield!

ArcheAge Invites You to Start Over with Revelation

$

0
Have you ever gone back to an MMO and decided to just start over completely with a new account? I’m betting quite a few of you have. Have you ever made a new account to play an update to a game? I’ll take a guess that not many if any have. Have you ever started a new account for an update at the request of the developers on a large scale? No? I’m not sure it happens often, if at all, but that’s exactly what ArcheAge is asking players to do if they want a fresh start.

On Saturday ArcheAge is launching Revelation in an endeavor that will see the game come offline for 12 hours. With it will be new races, new zones, and new servers. These new servers have a bit of a twist, though. You can only play on them if you start a brand new account. You see, these servers are a fresh start completely new worlds where nothing has been claimed and everyone is starting over as though it were launch day. If you’ve been playing ArcheAge you may recall that they did this previously without requiring you to start a new account. It was a fun experience, but there was a lot of feedback about long time players having a bit of an advantage because of various account wide features. The only way to get around those is to start with a brand new account, so that’s exactly what Trion are asking everyone to do.

Now to be clear, you don’t HAVE to play on these new servers. You can play on the old ones, even rolling up a new Dwarf, but you will be at a disadvantage doing so. These servers have been populated for years, land has been claimed. You’ll have to work harder to get anywhere. Or, you can join the fresh start servers and it will be like launch day all over again. Things won’t be the same on these new servers either. Specifically, the amount of gold in the world will be massively decreased. They’re removing some of the easiest and fastest ways that people have been pumping gold into the economy, which will have some serious, long-term changes in the game.

Of course, these servers won’t be exactly like launch day. The guides have already been written, veterans will know where to go and what to do. People will be making a bee line for choice land. I can guarantee that there are many people out there who have been planning for these new servers and starting a new account for weeks. They’ve got a checklist of what they need to do, maybe they’ve even scheduled Monday off from work/school just so they can get ahead in this new world. This kind of opportunity doesn’t come around in MMOs often, if ever.

So, if you want to give ArcheAge a try Revelation comes out this Saturday, and depending on if you’ll be playing on EU or NA you will have different downtimes and different start times.
It all begins with European servers at 3AM UTC on Saturday. At that time all EU servers will be taken offline for 12 hours. At 3PM the servers will begin coming back online. One every 15 minutes or so as Trion makes sure each one comes online smoothly. They won’t announce any order that will take place in until it’s actually happening, so keep an eye on the ArcheAge social media.

North American servers will go offline at 1 AM Pacific time on Saturday and remain offline for 12 hours. At 1PM, just as with the EU servers, the North American servers will begin coming back online.
All of this is being done on a Saturday to give players the best chance at being there right when the flip is switched and the servers come back online. This is also why no matter how much time the update actually takes they won’t turn the servers back on early. Trion will be sticking to that 12-hour schedule so there are no surprises.

Does this new approach to servers interest you? Would you like to see other MMOs give it a try? It makes you wonder what this sort of approach would be like for some of the older MMOs like World of Warcraft. Would they see a renewed interest in the game similar to when Everquest released their first progression servers? This has certainly grabbed my interest as I wasn’t able to play ArcheAge when it first launched and by the time I could I felt like the entire thing was an uphill battle.

Star Ocean Anamnesis (JP) is Out for iOS & Android

$

Co-developed by tri-Ace and Square Enix, the “high-end action RPG” Star Ocean Anamnesis is finally available in Japan on Google Play and App Store.

Let's get this out of the way first. Just like most mobile RPGs, it’s a free-to-play title with a Gatcha system and the usual fighting over and over. But the combat system is good, players don't need to pay much attention to the grind. I just played the game for a few hours and I cannot read Japanese so this would be a very limited First Impression. Check my gameplay video below.

The gatcha system is cheap only costing 500 to unlock one hero or 5,000 to unlock 10. Item is also unlockable, costing 300 for 1 or 3,000 for 10. There is an item system to upgrade weapons and to add armor and other things. I have not unlocked most of the stuff and i do plan on doing so, giving you a full review soon.

The mission select is straight forward, letting you pick levels, fighting up to three waves of enemies so far, the boss of one round becoming a normal enemy in the next levels.

Until then, please leave comments below and tell me what you guys think. Personally, i think this will be on my phone for a while.

This week Gameforge and developers HEX Entertainment are releasing the latest campaign update to the digital TCG HEX: Shards of Fate. The update offers around 40 hours of additional content, new unique cards and introduces an entirely new class with the Ranger. The addition of mercenaries brings entirely new possibilities to the world of Entrath. These supplementary characters allow players to bring extra decks into HEX’s dungeons, giving themselves more strategic leeway to react to various game mechanics.

New Class Blends Ranged and Melee Combat
Players can enjoy an entirely fresh experience in the campaign with the new Ranger class. Well versed in the art of survival, Rangers show prowess with both melee and ranged skills, enjoying the companionship of their animal pets who support them with powerful abilities.

PvE Mercenaries
Joining the new class comes the arrival of the mercenaries in HEX. After each battle in the campaign, players now have the option of swapping out their heroes for a mercenary with fixed stats and a specially created deck. Mercenaries can be collected and traded in the game like items of equipment. Each mercenary has a unique power at their disposal, opening up further strategic options to the players. The campaign dungeons will receive additional challenges for mercenaries with this update.

New Naval Missions for Campaign and Increased Level Cap
The second chapter opens up an innovative naval campaign, as players captain a ship to sail across the Alachian Sea. The ship features its own talent tree with new abilities, and replaces the champion in all battles at sea. During missions, players earn rewards and unlocks upgrades to further bolster the ship. Chronicles of Entrath: Chapter 2 also increases the level cap in the campaign to 15, unlocking new talents for the existing Mage, Warrior and Cleric classes.

Hero Entertainment Talks Virtuix Omni Price, Strategy, and Games

$

Hero Entertainment acquired in July 2016, and now their VR division HeroVR is currently working on several VR projects including Crisis Action VR, a Counter Strike style FPS played on Virtuix Omni's VR gaming platform. We just sat down with Wang Kun, the development director of the company's Shanghai office for more details of Crisis Action VR and Virtuix Omni's gaming platform.
Wang Kun

Virtuix Omni can minimize the motion sickness

Hero Entertainment believes that with a dedicated VR platform like Virtuix Omni, players can get the best VR gaming experience without worrying motion sickness. "With Virtuix Omni, what you do on that platform transfers to what you can see in the headset, this synchronization reduces the motion sickness to the minimum," says Want Kun, "and that makes games absolutely accessible for almost everyone from kids to grown-ups."

Virtuix Omni Harness

Currently there are 3 different sizes of harnesses for different users. There will be more in the future, according to Wang, for children and elder people.

You may have seen several games can be played on Virtuix Omni but you may still wonder how many games will be available on Virtuix Omni. Wang says they are now developing more games for Virtuix Omni while more than 20 other developers and studios are also making game contents for the VR platform.

A full Virtuix Omni package could be around $5,000 USD

Now how much will Virtuix Omni cost? Wang Kun points out they are focusing on arcade hall at this moment and the one-player package is about $5000 USD while the 5-player package is over $40,000 USD. He stresses that this is an estimated price for China and Southeastern market. They'll have to negotiate with local partners to decide the price for western market. Their strategy is not selling Virtuix Omni to individual players but to arcade halls, malls, bars, and even gyms. They want players go to those places and play the game with friends.
A 2-player Virtuix Omni package

Virtuix Omni will be released to the market in the US, Middle East and Southeastern Asia between late January and early February. It may first be available in the largest malls in large cities but gradually, it will be deployed to more places.

Crisis Action VR is a CS-style competitive game for Virtuix Omni

Crisis Action VR is played on PC but the game aims at arcade hall market first. Unlike VR games we play at home on our own PC, Crisis Action VR com focuses on 6-10 minutes of competitive experience with or against other players.

Crisis Action is a popular mobile FPS in China and Southeastern market. Crisis Action VR optimizes the experience by introducing in the gun peripheral and improving the combat pace. Wang told us that their goal is to allow players to get the core experience of the game in less than 10 minutes' battle. What's more, the game's online multiplayer system allows players to login their account in any licensed arcade halls and they won't lose their progress, equipment and other game data. It also allows a player in Shanghai's arcade hall to match to another player in Beijing fast, according to Wang.

An important and interesting feature of Crisis Action VR is how it makes use of Virtuix Omni's functions. Wang says Crisis Action VR allows players to jump, run, step back and do other complex actions in their own pace.

Unlike traditional games in arcade halls, Crisis Action VR promises regular content update so when players come back next time, they see something new. "For instances, players would come to play in Christmas, and we have Christmas content for them. Since the game is connected to our server, we can actively update the content, and that's what the traditional arcade games can't do."
