Clash Royale: Beastly Elite Barbarians + Poison Deck for Arena 8-9

$
0
0
Hi guys and gals Galbers Gaming here with a 3700 trophy Elite Barbarian Deck with troop levels no higher than 10/7/4/1. I should also state here that I have recently, unintentionally and disappointingly leveled up to level 11 but I still believe that this is a 3500+ deck, the trophy par/bar that I set for writing Clash Royale guides.
The Elite Barbarians have gone through a huge buff, a quick reminder on the buff:
  • 19 percent increase in hitpoints
  • 14 percent increase in damage
  • Attack speed increase to attacking every 1.4 seconds from 1.5 seconds

You may think that you have seen some bigger ‘number’ buffs before but these have generally been on stats which have been small. The Elite Barbarians however had high stats prior to their buff and so the c.15-20% increase is huge, certainly sufficient enough that we are now going to see the card included in decks.

Since the Elite Barbarian’s buff I have been playing around with them and quite casually waltzed to 3700 trophies which despite their huge buff surprised me as when they first came out I dropped 700 trophies with them!

Strategy
The strategy revolves around building up an Elixir advantage either by defending efficiently or through the Elixir Collector and then pushing out with the Elite Barbarians, your win condition card. Depending on how your opponent defends versus your Elites you may wish to use Poison along side them. Your Poison (and Log) will also come in handy in tight games to whittle down your opponent's tower

The deck:

Elite Barbarians (10)
Knight (10)
Ice Spirit (10)
Archers (10)
Elixir Collector (7)
Mega Minion (7)
Poison (4)
The Log (1)

If you like this guide please subscribe to my YouTube channel Galbers Gaming for more strategy, guides and tips in Clash Royale, it really does help and allows me to produce the content like the article you are reading right now 🙂

Elite Barbarians:the win condition of the deck, just a few swings on the enemy tower from both of these beasts and the tower will topple. Due to their speed I have been playing them on the bridge, if the opponent does not act quick enough one if not both will start their tower smashing. By playing them offensively you need to be able to deal with the opponent's offence or be sufficiently ahead in Elixir. They are also exceptionally good at killing Hog Rider pushes, they can kill a Hog Rider before it gets to your tower, setting up an extremely strong counter push. If you spot your opponent putting down an expensive card, six plus elixir, then try pushing out immediately with the Elite’s, I have had pretty good success with this strategy.

Knight:a cheap tank which also does damage, I have been trying out swapping this guy with the Ice Golem but despite the extra 1 elixir cost the damage on units is very useful.

Ice Spirit:one of the cheapest cards in the game which allows cycling of your deck as well as providing a 1.5s freeze which is extremely useful in defense as well as offense.

Archers:despite their slight indirect nerf through the Bomber and Elite Barbarians now being able to one shot them, they are still a difficult card to efficiently remove from the field. They alongside the Mega Minion are your (air) defenders.

Elixir Collector:I felt that with the Ice Spirit, Knight, Elite Barbarians and Archers I had sufficient cards able to counter a Miner drop on the Elixir Collector hence why it is included. I was also a little curious to see how this card performs.

Mega Minion: alongside your Archers Mega Minion is your other air defence. It is also difficult to remove from the field and despite their nerf still provides good damage. This card is generally played only defensively.

Poison: I have been coming up against a few hut/spawner decks and decided to include Poison instead of Fireball, I was also curious to seeing how it would perform. Also useful in the late stages of the game to whittle down your opponent’s tower

The Log:a fantastic card, perhaps the best card in the game right now - helps cycle through your deck through its cheap elixir cost as well as delay (push back) and damage oncoming units as well as a Princess killer.

Despite not putting much thought into this deck, with the exception of trying out the Elite Barbarians, Elixir Collector and Poison, this deck has done surprisingly well. If you haven’t already give the Elite Barbarians a go and let me know what sort of deck you are using them in. If you have any questions let me know.

Clash Royale: Most Informative Electro Wizard Strategy & Analysis

$
0
0

Hey guys, this is Chucky and I’ve got some great news - the Electro Wizard is coming to the game very shortly and it’s likely we’ll see a few of them flying about before Christmas given the fact that anyone who wins 12 games in the upcoming Electro Wizard Challenge will automatically receive it as a reward. This is a great reward from Clash Royale as it really gives people an incentive to play the challenge in the hope that they’ll get the new legendary before anyone else.

Supercell have also been kind enough to release some footage showing just how powerful the new Electro Wizard will be. The below video takes a closer look at this footage and the stats of the Electro Wizard to ascertain just what it will be able to do and in which situations it will be most useful. Look out for the second slow motion footage as well where you can see just exactly what this latest card is doing.

Let’s take a closer look at the various traits of the Electro Wizard so that we can understand better how it will be used and what cards it will be good against. The E-Wiz has 3 distinguishable traits – it zaps as it lands, it hits two targets at once with its MASSIVE hit range and it has a fast speed.

The Electro Wizard Zap:

At level one the E-Wiz lands with a zap that stuns for 0.5 seconds and thus stunning units and buildings (hint – good bye spark and inferno!). It does 169 damage which is the exact same as a level 9 zap and will kill goblins and skeletons as well as severely damage minions and kill them if they are under-levelled. This is incredibly powerful considering that after it zaps it will then take out two units at a time. This zap will be especially good at countering Inferno Towers, Inferno Dragons and Sparkies as the zap will also reset their damage timers due to the 0.5 second stun.

Hitting two targets & hit range:

This may seem like not such a big deal consider a wizard of an equivalent level will hit all the targets straight in front of it but there is a huge difference here. As the video shows, the Electro Wizard can hit targets on opposite lanes from each other. This means that despite technically only having a 5 tile radius, it can hit targets over a 10 tile space as each lightning bolt from its hands is capable of 5 tiles. This will be utterly brilliant against split pushes. Imagine for a second that you have a 3 musketeer split push coming your way – normally something to make the most calm amongst us panic. You can plonk the Electro Wizard down in the middle of the map and it will hit the musketeers in both lanes. Essentially it will cover the entire width of the map making it a seriously powerful defensive unit. Bear in mind, that you’ll ideally have some cover like a tank or a heavier duty unit in front of the Electro Wizard so that it doesn’t take damage. The range of this unit should not be underestimated.

Fast Speed:

One of the more subtle differences between this unit and the normal Wizard is that his has a fast movement speed instead of medium. This means it will be useful behind a Lumberjack or better yet Elite Barbarians as it will be able to keep up with them whilst providing cover fire to both ground and air. Combine this with a clone and you’ll see 4 heavy hitting barbarians with 4 lightning bolts constantly striking the air around them. There is a lot of different decks to play with using this unit.

Weaknesses:

As with all cards, whilst it’s nice to concentrate on the strengths and what they will bring to the game, it’s also important to look at the weaknesses and what could stop this from being useful in any given situation.

The first thing must be that the Electro Wizard has very low life – lower than a wizard. At just 550 HP he will be unable to survive Fireballs, Lightning or Rocket attacks and will be quickly killed by a variety of units once they target him. He definitely needs to have protection whilst he gets off his lightning bolts.

The second weakness is his hit speed. He hits every 1.7 seconds which is fairly slow for a lighter unit character and to put it in perspective, the musketeer hits every 1.1 seconds meaning it will get 3 shots off for every 2 shots the Electro Wizard manages to get off.

Played correctly, this unit looks to be absolutely awesome and at only 4 elixir it will be great to try it out in all sorts of combinations.

As always, thanks for reading/watching and if you enjoyed the video, please subscribe to Chucky’s channel– all support is very much appreciated!

Clash Royale: OP Clone Army Cycle Deck for Arena 9-10

Hi guys and gals Galbers Gaming here with another 3500+ trophy deck with troop levels no higher than 10/7/4/1. This guide’s focus is on a Zap/Arrow Bait Deck with a twist and that twist is none other than the Clone Spell. I have written a 3500+ Zap Bait deck guide, however the addition of the Clone Spell which may make the deck a little harder to play certainly makes up for it in the three star capability and fun department as well as the kudos factor of using a new card. I should also state here that I have recently, unintentionally and disappointingly leveled up to level 11 but I still believe that this is a 3500+ deck and I am currently sitting on 3602 trophies with it.

Before I go on to explain this deck just a quick message: if you like this guide please subscribe to my YouTube channel Galbers Gaming for more strategy, guides and tips in Clash Royale, it really does help and allows me to produce the content like the article you are reading right now :)

The Deck

Clone (3)
Minion Horde (10)
Goblin Barrel (4)
Minions (10)
Skeleton Army (4)
Ice Spirit (10)
Knight (10)
The Log (1)

Must have cards
  • Clone: whilst not a necessity in a Zap Bait deck, in this Clone version it unsurprisingly is!
  • Minion Horde: one of two targets of your Clone spell and is the preferable option with Skeleton Army being the other option
  • Goblin Barrel: this is a must as it is your other big threat which needs to be Zapped or Logged
  • Ice Spirit: this little fellow has three uses. Firstly: allows you to quickly cycle through your deck which is sometimes needed to catch the opponent off his/her rotation. Secondly: to set up some potent pushes. Thirdly: very handy in defence.
Replacements
  • The Log: the Log is in the deck is to take care of a Princess. This is a personal preference although I do feel that when playing a squishy deck it is important to take care of her. If you do not have The Log you can replace it with Arrows or if you have the Miner you can replace the Log for him so long as you replace your Knight with Zap too.You can also use Zap but as I stated above you may have issues versus Princesses.
  • Skeleton Army: if you are coming up against multiple players using Logs you can swap this card out for Mirror. I am unsure if this variation is better, but this did push me over 3600. I found myself Mirroring: Ice Spirit, Goblin Barrel, Knight, Minions.
  • Knight: you can swap for Miner (as stated above) or Ice Golem depending on your preference. I started out with the Ice Golem but decided that I prefered the damage from the Knight at the expense of one more Elixir.
  • Minions: you could swap out for the Mega Minion which could make the deck defend more easily, relying on squishy troops to defend is dangerous, something that I will get into shortly.

Clone Spell Usage
  • Defense: As this deck is extremely ‘squishy’ I hardly if ever use the Clone Spell in defence.
  • Offense: like all cards but especially true of the Clone Spell, you should only use it if you are going to get something out of it, once your opponent knows you have it you have to either:
  • Out cycle your opponent
  • Outwit your opponent
  • Know and pounce when your opponent makes a mistake
All of these are possible otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this guide.
  • General: You may get unlucky and Clone as the opponent Zaps, so be sure to minimise that risk and work out when you can play it i.e. know your opponent’s rotation. Thus it can be the case that you only show this card when you take your opponent by surprise and take down their tower in overtime.
Remember that the Clone Spell stops your units attacking and so in some instances it may be better not to clone your units which are on top of the enemy’s tower. Do not clone your Goblin Barrel, it will exceedingly rarely be of benefit - in the cloning process your Goblins will have some damage ‘down time’ (goblins not attacking) and this will give the opponent more time to react or gain more Elixir to be able to react.

The above may look a bit negative but this is only really relevant when pushing the limits of the deck. One of the main aspects of this deck is the sheer joy of watching a swarm three star your opponent and if you can pull off the Minion Horde and Skeleton Army Clone, a true sight to see! Let me know if you have been able to pull this off, I have been able to pull of a number of times, one of which is in the video linked below.

Pushes:
  • Goblin Barrel & Ice Spirit: one of my favorite pushes in the game, and yes I know I say that often! Throw the Goblin Barrel directly onto the opponent’s tower and then immediately drop the Ice Spirit on the bridge, it is important you do it in this order, c.600 damage difference. Ideally, you want your Ice Spirit to be targeted by the opponent’s tower as the Goblins burst from the Barrel, this is because the Ice Spirit will take two hits from the tower and then freeze it all the while your Goblins are happily stabbing away.
  • Ice Spirit & Minions: Minions by themselves will get a couple of hits off on the enemy’s tower, but with the Ice Spirit tanking two arrows from the tower before freezing it allows your Minions to do work
  • Knight & Minions: standard attack, the trick here is to defend with either one of the cards and then counter attack with the help of the other. This attack is also a clone option.
  • Knight & Goblin Barrel: standard attack which again if you can use your Knight to do ‘something’ before tanking the enemy’s tower that is efficient Elixir usage!
  • Minion Horde & Clone: obviously if you can get your Knight or Ice Spirit in front of the Minion Horde, this combination is even stronger. Due to the high Elixir cost it is difficult to pull off, don’t force it. Work out your opponent’s cards and see where and when you can fit your Minion Horde in without being countered. If the opponent decides to defend with only (off the top of my head): Mega Minion, Musketeers, Minions, Clone your Horde and watch them wreak havoc. Don’t really need to say this but - the Minion Horde by itself is potent.
  • Skeleton Army & Clone: like the Minion Horde works best if able to get behind the Knight or Ice Spirit and is also potent by itself.

Defense
Be wary of becoming readable. If the opponent sees you dropping Skeleton Army to defend, a premeditated Log will ruin your day, the same goes for defending with Minion Horde (Arrows).
“Tank and Spank”: if you have to defend a push the ‘tank and spank’ technique is your go to defense process. Example, the opponent is pushing in with a Giant-Wizard combination: wait until you can place your Knight so that it can tank and attack the Wizard and then immediately drop your Skeleton Army, Minions, or Minion Horde on the Giant afterwards. Do not fall for the classic Giant no support bait, where the naked Giant baits out your Minion Horde (or Skeleton Army) only for your Horde to get hard countered by Arrows/Fire Spirits/Wizard etc.

This deck is not made for defending, try to avoid it! “The best defense is offence” ;) To avoid defending try to force your opponent to defend versus your attacks as much as possible, but do not be too wasteful of your Elixir.

Starting Hand / Plays in order
  • Knight: play him at the back
  • Goblin Barrel & Ice Spirit: as stated above, as soon as you throw the Barrel drop your Ice Spirit on the bridge.
  • Ice Spirit & Goblin Barrel: when your Ice Spirit is in hand and your Barrel is your next card to go into your hand - drop you Ice Spirit on the tile directly in front of your tower and then play your Goblin Barrel as soon as it comes up, that is the timing so that your Ice Spirit tanks the enemy’s tower hits as your Goblins drop on the tower.
  • Goblin Barrel: throw on the enemy’s tower, this is a ‘feeler’ to what cards the opponent has to defend against your deck
  • Minions: drop on bridge, ‘feeler’
  • Skeleton Army: drop on bridge, ‘feeler’
Summary
Generally speaking if the opponent has any of the following three cards in their deck they are favored (if they have four GG to them) but this is not common: Zap, Log, Princess, Fire Spirits, Arrows, Ice Golem, Bomber, Wizard(s). Don’t get frustrated if you get countered like this, it’s the nature of the game, some call this “Rigged”(!) but with enough games you will get over this unlucky variance. The worst I have come up against is: Zap, Arrows, Log, Fireball, Valkyrie, ridiculous deck which would only win against this deck!!
As always, if you have any questions at all just let me know.
May your Clones bring you fun and success,
Galbers

Gaijin Entertainment announced that update 1.65 ‘Way of the Samurai’ marks the release of the originally proposed War Thunder game and ends Open Beta with all current in-game nations featuring their own aircraft and tank trees. The introduction of ships also means that War Thunder now takes the fight to land, air and sea to complement the game.

War Thunder’s ‘Way of the Samurai’ update will focus on completing the Armor of the Imperial Japanese Army, which adds 30 armored ground forces vehicles, featuring a full range of light and medium tanks as well as self-propelled guns and anti-aircraft vehicles modeled on interwar vehicles to proven mid-war workhorses and modern developments of the Cold War era.

Update 1.65 includes the integration of cockpit interiors for all aircraft with working gauges and indicators. The update contains two new maps for ground and combined arms combat, “Abandoned Factory” and “38th Parallel”. While the first challenges tankers and air support to identify targets in a maze of industrial workshops and loading bays, the latter propels players into the Korean peninsula and is the first ground combat location based on a post-World War II setting.  It also contains a dozen additional ground and air vehicles for other nations bringing the total number of available vehicles to more than 800.

The meta decks currently are hard to pin down. Some things are certainly common (lots of swarms, splash, and direct tower damage), but finding particulars takes time. After much time spent looking through replays and testing, I have decided to show the four decks that currently best define the meta.

Icy Hog Cycle

- Hog Rider
- Ice Spirit
- Ice Golem
- Archers
- Mega Minion
- Fireball
- The Log OR Zap
- Inferno Tower OR Tombstone OR Cannon OR Elite Barbarians

This deck has been around for a while simply because it works so well. It has a common spell set, Archers and Mega Minion to stop smaller pushes, and a variety of options for a card to defend heavier pushes.

Playing the deck:
This deck is usually pretty defensive. Kill their troops, make weak counter-pushes, and do a Hog Rider push when you have an advantage. The most classic push is Ice Golem followed by Hog Rider and Ice Spirit. Recently, the new buff to Elite Barbs has allowed them to compete in this deck for a more offensive game. They can do mediocre defense for their cost, butthe reason to use them is after you place an Ice Golem in front for counterpushing. This deck is good for rushing the other lane against heavy decks.

Playing against this deck:
Try to avoid using any sort of swarm on defense. With help from the splash from Ice Spirit and Ice Golem, a Fireball or Zap will easily mop up any of those sorts of counters. If you run spell bait, use Inferno Tower to kill Ice Golem, and then use the swarms. If you are truly desperate, just accept some damage until the icy troops die. Since the deck is pretty defensive in some players' hands, feel free to dropping Fireballs on the Archers along with the tower to slowly chip them down. The biggest counter to this deck that I have found is Three Musketeers. They can defend the push without letting the tower take almost any damage and the only way to stop them is for the opponent to use both spells. Air decks also tend to do well against them, provided that they don't rely too heavily on Minions.

Freezeyard

- Bowler OR Elite Barbs
- Freeze
- Graveyard
- Archers
- Mega Minion
- Ice Golem
- Tombstone
- Zap

This deck is starting to fall out, but is still popular at the very top. Graveyard is a devastating force when uncountered, and since most of its counters are troops, a simple Freeze can buy the Skeletons those few seconds they need to kill the tower.

Playing this deck:
It seems pretty defensive at first, but this deck involves much more risk than many of the current meta decks. The main damage dealt is going to be from Graveyard protected by either Ice Golem, Bowler, or Freeze. It also can be used as a distraction to allow a Mega Minion or the Elite Barbs to make it to a tower. Constantly push, and if the opponent looks like they are going to back a tank, play Graveyard in the other lane to draw their resources to the wrong lane. Then Tombstone, Archers, and Mega Minion can clean up the failed push. Unlike many current meta decks, this one is definitely fine to go for the second crown instead of just holding a victory at one. Solid counter to Hog Rider decks.

Playing against this deck:
The entire deck revolves around damage from Graveyard, so save your counters to it in your hand at almost all costs. If you have two, save them both so that you can place one, then the other after the opponent plays Freeze. If they do get you trapped, wait for a bit until you Zap/Log the Skeletons. Remember that the earlier you counter, the more Skeletons will have avoided the Log by not being spawned yet. Minions, Archers, Guards, and Valkyrie are all very solid for defending against their pushes.

Airfecta

- Lava Hound
- Miner
- Mega Minion
- Minions
- Tombstone
- Zap and Fireball OR Arrows and Lightning
- Minion Horde OR Inferno Dragon OR Baby Dragon
This deck is hard to define, and there are so many variations that I just took the simplest. Just a mostly-air deck to punish those who choose not tohave much defense for it.

Playing this deck:
Lava Hound with support is the main way to kill a tower. It is used mostly to carry high DPS troops to the tower, but it can also serve as the high DPS. It can be tanked for with a Baby Dragon or Miner; the moment the Crown Tower finishes off the Lava Hound, it retargets onto the tank, and the Pups wreak havoc. Be carefull of the lack of ground defense. Mini-PEKKAs, Princes, and Giant Skeletons can be deadly to this deck of you don't save Tombstone for it. Make sure to have spells around for Inferno Towers and get the Lava Hound to the tower with any of its synergies for an easy win against ground melee decks.

Playing against this deck:
Be cautious when using spells against a push. You may need the Fireball or Arrows you just used for their next push. Make sure you know all of the details of their deck before feeling confident enough in your defense to push the other lane. For decks with very little air-defense, pushing the other lane should be a high priority. Playing Hound leaves them with three elixir tops. Take advantage of that. Also, ground troops used as distractions can always be a last resort, especially against pups. Ignore the Hound and try to tank and spank the support with Archers or Mega Minion when defending. Be prepared for Miner and practically assume that they will pllay it whenever the Hound pops.

Spell Bait Control

- Miner
- Princess
- Skeleton Army
- Goblin Barrel
- Minion Horde
- Inferno Tower
- Zap ur The Log
- Furnace or Fireball
Another punisher deck. This will easily beat any opponent without much for splash. If they do have splash, it becomes a very hard battle that can be won only through clever mindgames.

Playing this deck:
Ignore elixir trades. It doesn't matter if they are two elixir ahead of they have no counter for the Minion Horde you just played. Try to play troops in different areas, to make sure that they never can take too much with a spell. Use the Princess and Furnace to chip them down, and use Miner to chip in some pushes and as a tank for some swarm in others. Remember Goblin Barrel mindgames. If they miss it with their Zap, they will be a card behind for a long time as you keep holding the pressure on with more swarms. Use Furnace and Princess to handle swarms on defense and Inferno Tower and Skeleton Army for the tanks. Constantly chip a tower down and stall the ending. This deck tenda to do terribly at the second crown, since it uses Miner, so don't let them take a tower at all costs.

Playing against this deck:
Prioritize. Know which cards they have and how well your troops can counter them. Then take the biggest problems and save spells for them. Be aware of the chip damage to yourself, and try to prevent it. Don't do as big of pushes, and save elixir to support yourself with spells. Some cards that do great against these are The Log, Zap, Arrows, Bowler, Wizard, and your own Princess.

Building your own deck for this meta
- Try to note the meta decks and think through how you would play against each one.
--Don't get too caught up in making a deck that can counter all of them, after all, if there was a deck that could beat every other deck, there wouldn't be anyone using anything else. Accept that your deck can get countered.
- Usually have one or two tank troops.
-- (In order of best to worst) Hog Rider, Ice Golem, Giant, Royal Giant, Miner, Lava Hound, Golem, Giant Skeleton, PEKKA.
- Add some sort of defensive building of you want to do a one-crown deck. Think of if you are more weak to Hog Rider or heavier tanks to help you decide.
-- Inferno Tower OR Cannon OR Tombstone
- Think of how well you can handle swarms, air, and Inferno Tower to help you decide your spell set.
-- (Some common ones) Just Zap, Zap and Fireball, The Log and Fireball, Arrows and Lightning
- Add filler cards of your choice to comport the deck.
-- Try to have a good balance of defense, counter-push, and offense cards.
-- Avoid having all of your tank support weak to the same spell. You don't want to lose everything to one Fireball.
-- Try to have a few cheap cards to handle things like a Princess at the bridge.
-- Some staple cards are (Archers, Mega Minion, Princess, Ice Spirit, Elite Barbarians, Elixir Collector, and Skeleton Army)
-- The higher your average deck cost, the more coverage you need on defense (multiple tank killers, swarm killers, support distractors, etc)
- Test your deck and don't tweak it after every loss. Do a few more rounds, and switch one card, then repeat. Once you've found a good deck that fits your style, you can win and have fun at the same time.

Thanks for reading! Hopefully I'll be doung this again next month.
