Bossa Studios, a small team known for games like I am Bread and Surgeon Simulator, has recently opened their official forum for their ambitious MMO Worlds Adrift, and in order to celebrate this event, they released a brand new trailer.
The footage that was recorded with real players shows some of the physics system that will be available in-game to help players interact with the world, as well as travel options, and a little bit of combat.
The basic idea behind this upcoming MMO was to create a living, breathing, open PvP world where everyhting you do matters, and everybody will face the consequences of their acts. Floating islands will provide the needed resources for crafting and repairs, if you find the right one, but beware of other players that are hunting for the same resources as you do.
Once you build your first aircraft (something that can fly or float) you will grab your crew and set for an exploration adventure in search of new resources and lost technology. You will need to find the means of fueling your ship, keep it repaired (it can be damaged in combat or from collision), and improve it when possible.
Your ship can be damaged, sabotaged, stolen or completely destroyed. The only thing that links a ship to its owner is the posibilty to set a crew respawn on it, but even that can be destroyed by other players.
More details will be revealed on the official blog, so keep an eye on it. The release date was not officially announced, but developers hinted for an Early Access phase at the end of 2015. If you want to be one of the first players to test Worlds Adrift, head over to the official site and register for exclusive access.
