The highly anticipated PSVR game Summer Lesson Asian version (includes English subtitles) gets a release date. Bandai Namco Entertainment just announced the simulation title will be available on April 28th.

The English version of the game will be published in a special bundle package which includes two DLCs - Summer Lesson: Miyamoto Hikari Second Feel and Summer Lesson: Miyamoto Hikari Day Out. The game's plot puts the player in the shoes of a private tutor of a Japanese virtual teen, allowing various levels of interaction using PS Move controllers. It seems that players will get to interact with Hikari in other places than her study room, like catching up to her after a jog, or a fireworks show by the riverbank and even a scene of Hikari in a maid outfit.

How Technology has Changed Gaming

$
0
0

The rate at which technology advances is far faster now than it ever has been and just about every industry is reaping the benefits of the improvements and heightened accessibility to cutting edge tech – gaming is seeing more advancement than any other, so it would seem.

At the dawn of video gaming; players would be forced to wait anything up to several hours for their consoles or titles to load up before playing – the Commodore 64 was so slow that the prototype is probably still booting! Now, courtesy of exponentially faster processors, gamers can go from booting to playing online with hundreds of their friends in seconds – no more waiting around for Generation Y!

Aside of the home consoles and arcade machines; gaming has moved into a whole new realm thanks to the advent of mobile devices. No-one is ever too far away from their pocket sized portal to the world and mobile gaming has taken the world by storm time and time again. From the early puzzle games to the Geo-Caching sensation that is Pokemon GO; mobile technology has offered the gaming industry more than decades of marketing ever could.

Even the online casino industry has benefited from gaming tech advances as players from around the world can wager their stakes against one another from the comfort of their own homes. Take Fruity King online roulette, which has become progressively more advanced and has helped traditional games bring the casino industry to a much faster audience than ever before.

Even the peripherals that are bundled in with consoles, or come as expensive additions, are more advanced than ever before. In the 1990’s, the N64’s lengthy controller cable was thought of as a godsend but now we consider wireless controllers an absolute necessity and even take our consoles with us for a gaming fix on the go thanks to the Nintendo Switch and it’s exceptional screen technology.

In truth, the gaming industry has left its roots behind and even board games have been converted into applications for downloading to mobile devices and consoles; there’s no more flipping the Monopoly board in a fit of rage because the board simply isn’t there any more – you can even control the game with your voice!

As a final point of tribute to the technological advances on the gaming industry; Virtual Reality has arrived and is set to revolutionise the way users play their games. Totally immersive games are already here but are somewhat basic when compared to their console competition – it’s unlikely to be long before the VR titles are as expansive and as sumptuously beautiful as their console equivalents.

Long may technology continue to develop and enrich our gaming lives.

Snail Games has teased 2 images on their Facebook the creature player can tame and ride. The developer just revealed at the Chinese official site details of creature taming including the difficulty level of catching different creatures. Take a look if you are planning to do some hunting in the game.

Horses, goats and deer are the easiest to tame since these herbivorous creatures have low attack and defense power. They usually choose to flee when they are attacked, says the developer, and they are definitely not good choices to become your combat mounts.

Difficulty to tame: ★
Attack: ★
Defense: ★
HP: ★★

Wolves, boars and giant spiders are carnivores with some aggression. They will only attack creatures with smaller size and usually they stick with group. You can tame and ride them into battles but remember to avoid challenging larger creatures.

Difficulty to tame: ★★
Attack: ★★
Defense: ★☆
HP: ★☆

Beasts like panthers, rhinoceroses and triceratops are physically strong and aggressive. They prey on other herbivorous creatures. They are qualified combat mounts and capable of most combat.

Difficulty to tame: ★★★
Attack: ★★★☆
Defense: ★★☆
HP: ★★★

At next level you can tame elephants, griffins, and tigers that are on the top of the food chain in Dark and Light's magic world. They have the power to help you face against multiple enemies at a time.

Difficulty to tame: ★★★★
Attack: ★★★★
Defense: ★★★☆
HP: ★★★★☆

Finally, players who are looking for the ultimate ruling power can tame the guardian creatures. But it requires a lot of effort and luck to obtain the supreme mount.

Final Fantasy XIV is trying to get more new players by altering its free trial policy. Previously the free trial account expires 14 days after the licensed software is downloaded. Now the time limit is removed, meaning that you can play the game for free whenever you want and as much as you want but you can only progress to level 35 (current level cap is 60). Still it's a good news for people never tried this game or whose free trial account has expired.

Players can upgrade the game from free version to full version anytime and their character data won't be deleted, which is more friendly to new players compared previous policy (players have to upgrade the game to full version in 90 days after the free trial expires otherwise their character data will be erased). To prevent the game from being exploited by bots and spammers, the game doesn't allow free players to use trading channels, send mail, create groups, or create guilds.

Final Fantasy XIV is subscription-based MMORPG like World of Warcraft, and it's not interested in ditching the subscription fee.

Polish studio Huckleberry Games revealed a new survival MMORPG Edengard, which will start Steam Early Access on April 4, 2017. The developer said the game was inspired by classic post-apocalyptic IPs like Mad Max and Fallout. Simliar to many sandbox MMOs, Edengard allows you to choose your own path, building settlement, gather resources and fight other enemies to survive.

Every item in the game is crafted by players. As players explore and fight in the wastland, they can progress 17 different abilities, each of which has its own skills tree with both passive and active skills. Loot and resources are randomly generated, and players are supposed to build their own town and expand it. There will be open world PvP and that means staying in group is better option.

Game Features
  • Towns' founding and managing as a mayor
  • Players' fractions
  • Town VS town battles
  • Gathering of resources
  • 13 trees of player’s abilities to develop and 400 skills to unlock (within those trees)
  • Building houses and shelters
  • Duels: PvE and PvP

The Secret World to Relaunch as Free-to-play Title Secret World Legends

$

0

The Secret World will relaunch under the new name of Secret World Legends around the end of spring 2017. What's more, it will be free to play! And you can apply for closed beta now.

The Secret World was first launched in July 2012 as pay-to-play title and then switched to buy-to-play with optional subscription model in December 2012. In 2016 Funcom announced to revamp the game completely. If you wonder how Secret World Legends is different in addition to F2P changeover, generally, the new game will provide over 100 hours of mature storytelling, completely revamped combat, a newly designed progression system, and updated visuals. The game is so fundamentally changed that it is almost a new title, according to Funcom.

Then what about the character data in the current TSW? Since the gameplay has changed so much, data in the original title is no longer compatible with SWL and you must create a new character in SWL. However, you can transfer your costumes, vanity items and life-time subscriptions from the old game to the new game.

Players will be able to purchase costumes, weapons, more inventory spaces, and other cosmetics or convenient items via the new premium currency Aurum. Aurum can be purchased with real money or in-game with virtual currency. On the other hand, Funcom Points used for the old TSW game can be exchanged to Aurum.

Heroes of the Storm 2.0 is coming soon with tremendous changes and lots of new features. In short, the game's progression and reward system, a new hero, a lot of new cosmetic items and plenty of ideas already found in Overwatch.

The young Amazon warrior Cassia now joins Nexus, and her Blinding Light is very effective against enemy physical attack heroes.

The other new features in the progression and social system make Heroes of the Storm very similar to Overwatch:
  • No level cap: The 40 level cap is removed and now there's. Your player level is the sum of all your heroes' levels.
  • Loot Chests: You now get a Loot Chest every time you level up and each Chest will award 4 randomized items of varying rarity: Common, Rare, Epic, or Legendary. The difference between this game and Overwatch is HotS' Loot Chests have 3 rarities: normal, rare and epic.
  • Voice lines and sprays: The social features are also similar to that of Overwatch. You can use voice lines, sprays, and emoji packs for your heroes.
Heroes of the Storm 2.0 also introduces in new currency Gems (existing currency Gold is still in the game) which can be used to purchase new heroes, bundles, loot chests, and more. You can buy Gems with real money or leveling up to get Gem rewards.

Shards are new resources you can obtain from loot chests and you can use Shards to forge skins, mounts, announcers, banners, emoji packs, sprays, portraits, and voice lines.

You can learn the full change list at the official site. Heroes of the Storm 2.0 is now in open beta and you can it by launching it on Blizzard Launcher.
