0
Arcfall is an old school sandbox MMORPG for those who miss the old days of playing point 'n click games and those enjoy the high risk, high reward experience. Arcfall has just kicked off Steam early access and the game only has PvE experience now.

The current version of the game features skill-based progression (no fixed class), non-instanced player housing, player-driven economy, farming and crafting, trading and 5 explorable areas that represent a small part of the entire game world.

A sandbox MMO in early access means many contents are still indevelopment and the gameplay experience may not be smooth. Besides, it usually requires players to invest a large amount of time to play a hardcore game in gathering, crafting, and all kinds of grinding.

Monster Hunter Movie's Storyline Will Differ From the Original Game

0
0
Paul W.S. Anderson, the director behind Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil movies, is going a launch another video game adaptation Monster Hunter. As a highly successful 12-year-old fantasy game, Monster Hunter has tons of fans all over the world, and they are dying to know how Monster Hunter will be present on the big screen.

Today we collect some details about this highly-anticipated film. Let's check it out!

Movie Budget

Anderson will once again team with VFX studio Mr. X, who he collaborated with on the Resident Evil films. This will help Monster Hunter stay at a mid-range budget of around $50 million, much like what the Resident Evil movies cost.

Storyline

The Storyline is quite different from the original game. In the movie, for every Monster, there is a Hero. An ordinary man in a dead end job discovers that he is actually the descendant of an ancient hero. He must travel to a mystical world to train to become a Monster Hunter, before the mythical creatures from that world destroy human being.

Filming

Anderson decides to make the film into two parts, and plan to shoot in either China or South Africa. He sees this as a franchise, which starts in the real world and then goes into the Monster Hunter universe, and then comes back to reality for the finale. If the movie is successful like Resident Evil, there will be more sequels

Wild West Online Will Skip Kickstarter and Early Access and Launch This Year

Composed of developers from League Of Legends, the Crysis series, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, etc., 612 Games is a new comer in the video game industry but their upcoming open world MMO Wild West Online has generated a lot of attention recently. Today the developer launched the official site for Wild West Online, allowing us to learn more about the Red Dead Redemption-a-like MMO.

Previously planned as stretch goal content, features like playable female character, rich role-playing features and social activities such as card games will be available at launch. This is because of the overwhelming response to the game's debut, which allows the dev team to receive additional funding from the game's initial investors. With the funds the game can skip the Kickstarter and Steam early access phase and focus on full launch in fall 2017, according to 612 Games. Now the alpha and closed beta is slated for summer 2017 and it's not far away!

In Wild West Online, you can play a law-abiding citizen or a law-breaker with various roles like gold miner, farmer, deputy and outlaw, etc. The game is PvP-centric and criminal players will be marked as "wanted" and they will have a certain number of Stars to indicate their criminal level, just like GTA series. There are PvE contents like bounties, farming, mining, and trading. The game has some interesting features and I hope it could make everything right with the launch version.

Revelation Online will be providing localized version to French and German players by Q3 2017, as the publisher My.com is currently testing the FR & DE clients via closed servers. The localization French and German markets involves altering art assets, expanding the UI, programing, and other things, says My.com.

Our team has been working hard to provide you, the Community, with an update on our French and German versions. We previously mentioned that we have pushed the FR & DE localization onto our internal testing servers for our team to look for issues which could appear from pushing our localization onto the client. The types of issues our team may encounter will be from text not appearing at all to text not fitting within the UI. These issues can then be fixed by the team, UI can be expanded and it can be investigated as to why the text isn’t appearing correctly.

You can take a look below the screenshots of the FR & DE versions.

Firstly you should know that all 4 classes are gender locked, with Human and Dark Elf only have male characters while Elf and Dwarf are female. Please make sure to choose your favorite race since the race might get buff or nerf, but you can’t change the gender right? Please note this guide is based on Korean version, and the global game might be different.

Human

Hawkeye
Reason to Choose: Fast leveling and high critical strike

It’s easy for Hawkeye to level up since with the long range attack, it’s very efficient to farm automatically.
Dungeons: ★★★
Hawkeye is lack of control skills, especially when facing the those flying enemies who attack base directly.
PVP: ★★★
Hawkeye is good at getting last hit at massive fortress PVP fight, but he is relatively weak on 1 vs 1 arena.

Paladin
Reason to Choose: Very balanced and OP in Korean version
Leveling: ★★★★
As a melee class, you will need to move frequently when leveling up, but good thing is Paladin has decent attack and defense.

Reason to Choose: Bishop is really hard to die
Leveling: ★★
One of fatal disadvantages is his physical and magical damage is quite low

Similar to other MMOs, there is no need to emphasize how important a supporter is in a team

Netease Games Debuts The Epic of Tia, a Hardcore Action MMORPG

PC/console MMO still has a market although mobile game is the cash cow now. At least Netease Games thought so and they just unveiled a new PC MMORPG The Epic of Tia, a return of the old-school hardcore PvE gameplay you may experience in the original World of Warcraft, Monster Hunter or Dark Soul series.

The most important features of the game, other than the Diablo look, is the high-difficulty combat and a fully open economy system that allows you to trade everything in the game with other players. The game has 3 starting classes: Swordsman, Archer, and Wizard, and you set off with just one combat ability and one wooden club. There's no one boar that you can kill without making your hands sweat and there's no sheep that you can easily kill with your wooden club. Death is the most common thing and leveling up is one of the most exciting things in the game.

The hardcore nature of the game makes sure The Epic of Tia is for hardcore players and people who like Dark Soul and Monster Hunter games. Fortunately, the game promises the depth in role-playing, with subclass system, over 200 different class abilities, 18 class-exclusive skills, and 9 skill lines for each class. You can equip up to 9 skills at a time, which forces you to explore, change, and experiment different builds.

System requirements for the Alpha version:

Processor: Intel Core i5-4570 or equivalent
Memory: 4GB RAM
Graphics: NVDIA Geforce GTX 750 or equivalent
DirectX: 9.0C
Storage: 10 GB available space

Pumpkin Online: Exclusive Q&A With Creator and Project Lead

0
0
Hello! Could you introduce yourself to our readers and describe your role in Pumpkin Online’s development?

Hi, my name is Monique Blaize, I’m the creator and project lead of Pumpkin Online.

In your own words, how would you describe Pumpkin Online to readers that are only now hearing about it?

Pumpkin Online is a multiplayer farming/dating sim. In it, you’ll manage a farm and your relationships with townsfolk, all the while customizing your house how you see fit. It’s meant to be a relaxing social game about farming and nature.

How long has your team been working on Pumpkin Online, and what is the biggest challenge you’ve had to face so far?

We’ve been working on Pumpkin Online for about four years. However, the current iteration of the game has only been in development for about a year, as we had to switch engines. This relates to our biggest challenge, which was having to start over with a new engine, as the old one didn’t line up with what we wanted to do.

Could you tell us more about the player progression? Since I assume there will be no combat, will skills such as farming, cooking or fishing have some sort of leveling system?

No, there will be no levels. Progression will be marked more with the upgrades to your farm that you earn. So you can say you’ve “leveled up” when you’re able to afford a chicken coop, when you didn’t have one before.

Will there be any form of competition between players? In-game contests maybe?

Yes, not only will there be seasonal in-game contests the players can participate in, but the players will also be able to create and organize their own contests whenever they like.

Pumpkin online being a multiplayer game, in what ways will players be able to interact and co-operate with each other?

There will be multiplayer servers, where people can operate out of the same game world. We’re taking a hands-off approach to how players interact with each other, and we’re hoping that they’ll naturally want to cooperate in order to maximize their individual farms’ effectiveness. So say, one person could focus on farming, while another could focus on ranching, and they could trade products. That sort of thing. Additionally, some quests will be difficult for one person to accomplish alone, and hopefully that will incentivize people working together for a common reward.

This must be a question you’ve been responding to a lot, but the farming games enthusiast in me must know! For when are you planning to have a stable beta or release that will allow players to give Pumpkin Online a try?

We’re hoping for a beta release by the end of the year.

How much freedom will players have when interacting with the world? For example, will it be possible for players to removes trees permanently or change landscapes?

The players will be able to change farms that they own any way they like. There will be some aspects of the map the players will be able to change, but not permanently. The players will be able to harvest from elements in the overworld, but anything outside of a farm you own will respawn.

From the video’s and screenshots I’ve seen, the game is already looking beautiful and full of life. How do you expect the game to run on the average PC builds?

According to our research, most users on steam should be able to run Pumpkin Online with no issue. However, we’re dedicated to making sure our game is playable for as many users as possible.

Thank you a lot for taking the time to answer our questions!
