TGT Arena What Priest Cards You Should Or Shouldn't Pick

0
0

Since some time has passed and meta has settled a bit in the arena it is time to look at TGT cards and see which ones turned out to be good and which ones not. This time I will talk about newly released Priest class cards in TGT and whether you should pick them or not.

Ratings

I will rate the cards into the following categories:

Amazing - you should always pick these when you have a chance. These are the cards that can win you the game by themselves. They are commonly found in 12 win decks. Most of the time you will only manage to pick few cards in this category

Good - good but not op cards in the arena. These are definitely nice to pick up they will make up around 1/4th of your deck. These either have stats that are better than expected or average stats with a good card text. Pretty good if you manage to pick up some.

Average - main part of your deck will consist of cards in this category. These are found everywhere and you will have to pick a lot of them but don't worry average is good enough for an arena deck.

Bad - these cards either have bad stats for their mana cost, their effect is too small, or they don't do enough. You will generally want to avoid these cards because they will weight your deck down in quality because most of the time your opponents will have average decks.

Terrible - never pick these if you can. All of these are considered garbage in arena and you should only pick them if you are forced to do so.

Flash Heal - Bad

1 mana restore 5 health is really mana efficient. However it is also too much as you will rarely need to restore 5 health to something, most of the time your hero power will do enough. Unlike in constructed, hero health isn’t as important, especially in Priest, where health means almost nothing. This means that you will want to be using Flash Heal on minions and as I just said often 5 health i too much to heal because you won’t have minions wit that much health and also unlike using your hero power you will be using up a card.

Power Word: Glory - Terrible

As I said Previously health doesn’t matter when you are playing Priest. That means that Power Word: Glory will do nothing for you.
Spawn of Shadow - Average
The effect is mirrored and will only activate when you use hero power. This plus the fact that health doesn’t matter when playing Priest means that you can think of this card as a Lost Tallstrider, which is stated fairly and does average in arena.

Holy Champion - Amazing

Amazing addition to Priest. 3/5 stats for 4 mana are already nice and on top of that it gets 2 health whenever you heal something. And in arena games you will almost always have something to heal. In the worst case scenario you can heal your opponent to buff the Holy Champion. If your opponent doesn’t have an answer to her you will snowball the game and win.
Confuse - Bad
The effect is too situational to be good. Because of that this card will often times be dead in your hand and you won’t have a chance to play it. When you do play it you will spend a card just to swap stats and nothing more. Sure that might be useful for trading sometimes , but as I said this card is too situational to be good.

Convert - Bad

As a Priest you can’t afford to use 2 mana to draw a card. On top of that in arena minion quality is a lot lower than in constructed play. All of these combined and the fact that this card doesn’t even grant you card advantage makes it bad.
Wyrmrest Agent - Average
Just like other cards which depend on dragons in arena your deck will decide if Wyrmrest Agent is good. If you have few dragons definitely pick it up because 2/4 for 2 mana is insane in arena and generally should be worth 3 mana.

Shadowfiend- Good

Definitely generates very good value if it stays on the board. And if it dies you got 3/3 for 3 mana which is average for a 3 drop. If it sticks on the board for a long time you will get a lot of discounts on your cards and tempo out your opponent hard. But the fact that such good effect is on a 3 health minion drags Shadowfiend down a lot. It won’t survive too often for you to abuse it’s card text.

Wildstar F2P Beginner Guide - Choosing A Path

0
0
By far one of the most interesting features of the Wildstar MMO, Path offer players a wild array of content in the form of unique  side quests, achievements, skills and items. The choice of a Path will thus be as important as that of a class in this case, each of the four available ones having their own characteristics.

One common way for choosing the Path that will suit you the most is through the Bartle test, a series of questions meant to evaluate your gaming mindset. The test is based on a document on the psychology of the player drafted in 1996 by Richard Bartle who theorized about the existence of four types of players.

Scientist
In Wildstar, the scientist Path might just be the one that will require the most effort from players. With a large number of items, plants and monsters for scientist players to analyse with their scan bots, a lot of time will be towards reaching such objectives. As such, this Path is meant mostly for players having no qualms about investing their efforts to obtain achievements, completion points, and other rewards that give them little or no benefit in the form of gameplay.

If you're referring to the Bartle test, the scientist would fit under the Achiever category.

Explorer
Explorers may be slightly similar to the scientist in the fact that they will be exploring the maps to uncover the secrets of Nexus. The difference here is that while scientist will be scanning things to meet their objectives, explorers will be using their agility to explore every single nook and cranny and solving puzzles. This path is thus meant for players with a strong desire to discover the world and its environment, including the background of the game, its history, the "secrets" of the world and hidden content.

Not surprise here, the explorer fits under the Bartle test category sharing the same name.

Settler
The settler Path is here to cater to the needs of the multitude of players who choose to play for the social aspect, rather than the game itself. They find their fun by interacting with other players and, on some occasions, computer-controlled characters with strong personalities. The game is simply a tool to meet other people in the game or outside it. They will also make sure of the sandbox features present in the game to change their environment and help their fellow players.

If you've taken the Bartle test and it resulted in you having a higher affinity for the Socializer category, then the settler Path is for you.

Soldier
Finally, the soldier Path is by far the most simple one, meant for players with a desire to test their skills in the different challenges offers by the developers. The challenges will, more often than not, involve the mindless killing of NPC enemies.

You've guessed it, the soldier fits under the Killer category of the Bartle test.

Keep in mind, however, that this test will not be 100% accurate, especially considering that the average MMO player will enjoy every aspect of their games equally. If you are still confused regarding the Path you should choose, the following articles should offer you more insight.

The 10 Cards From The Grand Tournament With the Worst Art

0
0

Hearthstone's art design is outstanding, and one of the things that's made it so popular in the first place. But with more than 1,000 different pieces of original art in the game, there are sure to be a few duds here and there. The Grand Tournament certainly isn't immune from awkward and unpolished artwork.

Burgle's art got a lot of hate when it was revealed, but I think it's a charming and enjoyable image that matches the style of the game perfectly. Unfortunately not all cards in The Grand Tournament share its appeal.
This guy has crazy mutant proportions. His arm is disturbingly short and small, while his torso is absurdly thick and long, topped by a alarmingly shrunken head. Even fin the world of stocky Warcraft characters, this guy looks wrong
If Garrison Commander had a cousin, it would be Fencing Coach. His right arm is unbelievably huge despite being farther away in the frame. He must be doing something to bulk up that right arm. Let's hope it's fencing.
Something about The Grand Tournament must be mutating people's limbs. This fellow's leg is just as wide as his entire torso, making the conveniently placed axe in the foreground hide the second leg and infinite crotch gap.
This art isn't technically faulty, but lacks energy and clarity. The painting is muddy, the colors are too muted, and the character design is lifeless. Though the lighting and composition look fine, it's just missing a visual punch.
Seal of Champions looks way too digitized and angular to fit into the design of Hearthstone. The energy effects are too perfect, the linework is thin and lifeless, and the colors feel dry. This belongs in a comic book, but not in the antique and organic style of the game.
I absolutely love the color, shading, and composition in this piece. It's the blocky linework, horrendous energy effects, and totally awful, spiney explosion in the skeleton's hand that make it bad. The background ghouls also seem like they were a rushed afterthought.
I guess Bear Trap is fine from an execution standpoint, but it's just so boring. There's nothing fun or visually engaging in this image, and it lacks the charm that Hearthstone cards should always have.
This card is posed and composed way too awkwardly. What kind of stance is this guy in, and why are his head, hips, and shoulders so huge compared to the rest of his body? The background is also flat and lifeless.
Lock and Load's character is an odd-looking fellow who lacks definition and color. He bleeds into the background, and the explosion effects are generic and bring up ideas of finger-painting instead of real detail and execution.
This feels like a background element in a much larger image. The lighting only highlights 10% of the primary figure, making it fade into the background and lack any pop or energy. The painting style is also sloppy and rushed.

Most of Hearthstone's cards look incredible, and it might seem petty to pick out a few of the weakest images in the game. But I think it's a fun exercise to point out a few of the cards that might've missed the mark or got thrown in despite lacking a true fit with the game.

WildStar F2P Settler Path Guide

The purpose of the Settler Path in WildStar is being a link between the gameplay and community aspects of the game. Through their travels, Settlers will have to collect various resources and materials to create infrastructures that will not only benefit themselves, but their community as a whole.

Essentially, Settlers take part in the a form of management gameplay and "social" missions, even though now and then, working for the greater good of your community may mean taking up arms.

As such, their missions will be quite varied, including locating and gathering resources, expanding towns and cities, creating buildings like defense outposts, taverns or hospitals, and defeating enemies that threaten the safety of the community.

Abilities
True to itself, the Settler Path give players access to four abilities meant to assist themselves and their allies as they venture deeper into Nexus.
  • Settler's Campfire. This ability allows the Settler to create a campfire that gives players in the vicinity a max health buff that lasts for 60 minutes. They also gain the brief  "Takin' a Breather" buff that restores 12.5% of their health per tick while they remain near the fire.
  • Summon: Mail Box. Self-explaining ability, it allows the Settler to summon a Mail Box to be used by players to check their mails, or send new ones.
  • Summon: Vendbot. Again a no-brainer, this ability summons a vendor bot, allowing players sell their superfluous inventory, and restock on weapons or recovery items.
  • Summon: Crafting Station. All good things come in threes, so here is another summon ability for Settlers, allowing they to give themselves and their allies access to a crafting station if they are far from town.

As for the recommended classes, the Settler goes well with any of them, although I would personally suggest the Engineer for a better immersion.

WildStar F2P Soldier Path Guide

Out of the four Paths available in WildStar, the Soldier might just be the easiest one to complete. The Soldier's missions are, to be entirely honest, not that different from the quests of the game's storyline. However, if you assume that the Soldier is a brawn Path with nothing to do other than to bash enemies, you could be in for a slight surprise.

Put simply, the Soldier Path is here to test the fighting abilities of players, including their capacity to survive, promptly eliminate enemies, and defend their "allies".

Here is a short introduction of the different missions assigned to Soldier players.

Wave Battles
By far the most common missions assigned to the Soldier Path in WildStar, the waves battles are, as the name implies, quests where players have to defeat enemies, one wave after another. The wave battles themselves, known as Holdouts, are split into the four following categories:
  • Holdout-Conquer: This is the simplest Holdout mission category where players simply have to defeat the waves of enemies assaulting them, with no goal other than to defeat them, all while surviving their attacks. Be sure to hone your dodge skills before attempting these.
  • Holdout-First Strike: While it shares certain features with Holdout-Conquer, this category of missions will be slightly more complex. If players should still take the time to dodge attacks when they can, they won't always have the luxury to do so. Indeed, if the enemies remain alive for too long, they will call in reinforcements. A true test of the player's ability to use their class combos to push their DPS to the limit.
  • Holdout-Security: Slightly more complex that the above, in Holdout-Security missions the waves of enemies will be targeting the player's loot. A moment of inattention could lead to a prompt failure.
  • Holdout-Protect: Similar to Holdout-Security missions except that this time, players will be defending allied NPC's from an ongoing onslaught of enemies. Again, while the survival of the player's character is not to be overlooked, the safety of these allies will be just as crucial to successfully complete these missions.

Other Missions
  • Assassination: As the name implies, assassination missions involve having players track down bosses/mini-bosses, and defeating them. Be careful, however, as they can be a tad bit stronger than your average bosses.
  • Demolition: Put simply, players will be using explosives and other AoE weapons to destroy their objectives. Michael Bay would be proud.
  • Rescue Op: Need a break from shady missions with even shadier objectives? Rescue Op missions allow you to save hostages from their kidnappers. But of course, this being the Soldier Path, nothing stops you from defeating the bad guys while you're at it. Way to feel like a hero.
  • SWAT: This is probably the most entertaining kind of missions Soldiers get to undertake. SWAT involves having players use state of art war weaponry to defeat their enemies or assist friendly NPCs.

Abilities
Like with every other Path, Soldiers obtain certain useful abilities as they level up. These include:
  • Back into the Fray. An ability that restores characters to full health assuming that they are out of combat and have less than 75% health. Has a 15 minutes cooldown.
  • Bail out. Bit more than you can chew? This handy ability teleports you, as well as you allies, to a safe area so that you can recover and either go "Back into the Fray", or escape. Requires up to 3 seconds of cast-time, and has a 30 minutes cooldown.
  • Combat Supply Drop. With a cast-time of 2 seconds, and a cooldown of 60 minutes, this ability allows the player to summon a locker containing one weapon for them as well as each of their allies.

Finally, the classes recommended for this path are, no surprises here, the Warrior for its tanking capacity and knockdowns/interrupts, as well as the Engineer due to their large telegraphs and the support of their minions.

WildStar F2P Scientist Path Guide

0
0
The Scientist, in contrast to its Soldier counterpart, may be the most effort-requiring one out of the four paths. While their missions rarely even involve fighting against enemies, the sheer number of items, creatures and plants to analyse will be hard to ignore.

Because to Scientists, knowledge is more important than anything else, regardless of how pointless it may seem to others. To them, figuring out the properties of a flower shares the same importance as the secrets linked to ancient relics, and they want to learn about it all, even more so when they evolve in a world as mysterious as Nexus.

The premise is rather simple. All scientist can summon a scan bot that will, either automatically or when manually activated by players, scan objects of interests. These scans will also occasionally activate certain effects, opening paths to hidden areas, giving players useful buffs, or triggering the aggro of an enemy.

Abilities
  • Holographic Distraction. Need to remain undetected from enemies? This ability allows players create a holographic imagery that reduces the awareness of enemies with a range of 5 meters. Requires a 2 seconds cast-time, and a cooldown of 25 seconds.
  • Summon Group. Need to regroup with your teammates? This ability allows party members that are on the same continent to teleport to the caster. Requires a 20 seconds cast-time, and a cooldown of 60 minutes.
  • Create Portal. Greatly useful ability that allows players to create a portal to their capital city. The portal remains active for two minutes and can be used by other players. Requires a 3 seconds cast-time, and a cooldown of 2 hours.

Finally, classes recommended for the Scientist Path are the Medic and Esper classes, more due to their style compatibility than any apparent gameplay benefit.

WildStar F2P Explorer Path Guide

0
0
The Explorer Path in WildStar is similar to the Scientist's in the fact that lies the uncovering of the various secrets of Nexus. The difference is that they take it far more figuratively. Where the Scientist thrives for information on the fauna, flora and history of Nexus through their scan bot, Explorers make use of their agility and wits to go higher, deeper and farther than anyone so as to be the first to plant their flags in the most remote and hard to access zones of the planet.

However, the missions assigned to Explorers can go beyond explorations and discoveries. This is especially true for Surveillance missions where they are tasked with spying on the enemy faction, and Tracking missions where the objectives involve finding members of the opposite faction as well as strange, and even terrifying, creatures.

The main appeal of the Explorer Path lies the immersion, the feeling of achievement, as well as the diverse and non negligible rewards obtained by solving puzzles and geographic challenges, exploring hidden zones, and successfully completing Tracking missions.

Abilities
The Explorer Path offers players access to abilities meant to assist them in the exploration of Nexus.
  • Explorer's Safe Fall. Basically a fall damage reduction. Possessing an instant cast-time and a cooldown of 1 minute, Explorers will find various uses for this ability, especially when exploring high areas
  • Air Brakes. Yet another useful ability, with a cooldown of 30 seconds and an instant cast-time. Simply put, it allows players to float in the air for a brief moment, giving them enough time to check their surrounding and decide on their next move.
  • Translocate Beacon. Need to go to a remote zone or deep into a cave before returning to you initial point? This ability is for you. It allows players to create a beacon in an area of their zone, and teleport back to it whenever they wish to. It has an instant cast-time, and a cooldown that depends on the distance between the two teleportation points.

Recommended classes include the Stalker for the increased agility, as well as the Spellsinger because....well an Explorer with guns simply looks fantastic.

Participants in the PGL Cosplay Open competition should prepare themselves to be judged by four experienced cosplayers with worldwide fame. PGL is proud to announce the four costumed celebrities that will be attending the PGL Cosplay Open convention held between October 29 and November 1st at the Polyvalent Hall in Cluj-Napoca.

The PGL Cosplay Open special guests will take turns doing workshops, presentations and sitting in on the judging panel for the cosplay competition with $8000 prize pool.

Marie-Claude Bourbonnais (Canada)
Marie-Claude was revealed to the cosplay scene in 2009 with her Mortal Kombat tribute pictures where she was dressed up as Frost. She officially became one of the most recognized North American cosplayers when she attended NYCC in 2010, wearing a latex costume of Sue Storm, introducing that material for the first time in the mainstream cosplay industry and creating a new trend.
Over the years, her costuming work has also developed through many collaborations. She made 7 leather outfits for the actors of Heroes of the North - Season 2, a webseries about Canadian superheroes in which she's featured as an actress. Marie-Claude and her team spent the first part of 2015 building a 10 feet tall fiberglass robot that Soda Pop Miniatures used as a display piece for Gen Con earlier this year. Marie-Claude is now recognized as a technical cosplayer who’s building high quality costumes and props. She’s received as a cosplay guest all across North America, Mexico, South America and Europe.

Tabitha Lyons

Tabitha Lyons has been in the prop industry since she was 12, making foam and latex props with her dad Nic Samiotis. In 2007 they created their own company called Artyfakes supplying costumes and props to around the world. You can catch them live in their studio on their creative Twitch stream.

Tabitha was also seen on Sky One's King of the Nerds as a costume judge for the Cosplay challenge week. In her spare time she likes to stream Hearthstone or old school games like Mariokart 64.

Calypsen Cosplay (Poland)

Marta is a young cosplayer from Poland which has already started to turn heads and gain appreciation for her crafstmanship skills at only 19 years old of age. She loves making armored cosplayes, working with worbla and EVA foam. She also isn’t afraid of the grinder, heat gun or working for hours. She loves pizza and Assassin’s Creed. :)

Deck Guide - *TGT* Mistcaller Shaman by RegisKillbin

0

Despite all the strong new cards Shaman received in The Grand Tournament, it still hasn't picked up steam on the ranked ladder. But that doesn't mean it's an unplayable class! If you were lucky enough to pull The Mistcaller from a pack and want a deck to use him well, then the Mistcaller Shaman will be a viable option for you to climb the ladder.

With the Mistcaller Shaman, you'll be able to build crazy boards full of powerful buffed totems, winning long games on pure value. This is a midrange deck that push control decks around without automatically losing to aggro decks.

General Strategy

The first thing you'll need to do with this deck is build an early-game board that allows you to snowball into your mid-game value cards. That means in the mulligan you're looking for Haunted Creeper, Totem Golem, and even Tuskarr Totemic. If you're able to get out strong minions on turns 2 and 3, then you'll have a lot to build off of with follow-up cards like Flametongue Totem and Defender of Argus.

You should always be focused on controlling your enemies board as opposed to looking for face damage. It's important that you retain the initiative while continuing to drop a new value minion each turn. As you follow up with Piloted Shredders, Azure Drakes, and Fire Elementals through the mid-game, you should have a strong board state to leverage while using removal spells like Lightning Storm and Hex to maintain your board advantage. From there, you're going to be looking for your big threats that seal the deal for you.

This can come in the form of Dr. Boom or big Thunder Bluff Valiant plays. You should always look to drop The Mistcaller as soon as possible in order to maximize its value. It's usually a good play, as long as you're not totally sacrificing board presence or tempo at a vital moment in order to force it out. Once you get The Mistcaller out, all of your early-game minions that you draw late are suddenly quite strong. Once you're able to drop your legendary threats, you can start looking for lethal from your board or combos with Al'Akir the Windlord, Rockbiter Weapon, and Flametongue Totem.

What Stands Out

The cards that really give this deck its bite are mostly new ones from The Grand Tournament. Tuskarr Totemic is a super-value 3-drop that helps you build a formidable board in no time. It can pack 4 to 5 mana of value into a single 3-mana card, which is huge in the early-game when you trying to gain an advantage. And because you have so many totems and ways to produce them, Thunder Bluff Valiant can often be worth 4 to 6 extra damage each time you use a hero power with it. As a resilient 3/6 body, it tends to last a while or force extreme reactions from your opponent.
Al'Akir is really in this deck because it's a backup win condition. Sometimes you simply won't be able to build the board or damage you need to finish off an opponent, so you'll need to make a last-ditch effort to finish them off. That's what Al'Akir enables you to do by comboing with Rockbiter Weapon or Flametongue Totem.

How Do You Win?

In most games you'll win by assembling a board full of 4 to 6 minions, then pushing for lethal damage on the back of buffs and consistent board presence over the course of multiple turns. In other games you'll put together the pieces for an Al'Akir the Windlord combo with a pair of Rockbiter Weapons that allows you to do 18 damage from an empty board.

Matchups
  • Control: Against control-style decks, you should be in good shape because of the long-term value you can extract from this deck. You have a lot of early-game minions that they may have trouble answering, and you can still play long matches thanks to The Mistcaller, Dr. Boom, and being able to use Hex for removal. You should aim to swarm the board and pressure them through the mid-game for a quick win. If games do run long, be sure that you don't waste your Mana Tide Totems or Thunder Bluff Valiants, because they'll need to be big players to win these matchups.
  • Aggro: It can sometimes be difficult to keep up with hyper aggressive decks if you draw poorly in the mulligan. You should try to build your board and do everything possible to keep them at bay until you can start to pull ahead in the mid-game. Earth Shock, Lightning Storm, Rockbiter Weapon, and Defender of Argus will all be key cards in these matchups. Remember that Defender of Argus is your only controllable taunt, so timing it perfectly is very important. You may also have trouble playing The Mistcaller on curve because he gives up some tempo that you'll desperately need.
  • Combo: To beat combo decks, you'll basically have to engage them in a race and try to swarm them down before they have time to draw into the cards they need. Put focus on aggressive minion plays and big face damage instead of long-term value cards. That means Mana Tide Totem, Azure Drake, and The Mistcaller won't be your friends in this matchup, but Piloted Shredder and Fire Elemental will be vital.
What to Replace

There are a few different ways to adjust this deck list based on what you're seeing in the meta game. If you need the flexibility of a direct damage spell to clear taunts or put together more damage, Crackle can be a great addition in the place of Mana Tide Totem or Lightning Storm. If aggressive decks are destroying you too quickly, adding in a pair of Zombie Chows in place of Hex or Mana Tide Totem will be a positive change.
Finally if you are building big boards but can't seem to put together lethal, squeezing in a single Bloodlust will give you extra firepower to finish games. You can take out an Azure Drake to make room for it.

Why You Should Care

It's difficult to find good Shaman lists that are competitive on the ranked ladder these days. That's frustrating if you've just cracked open The Mistcaller and don't know how to play with your fresh new legendary. This deck solves that problem while providing you with a fun and powerful way to show off that shiny new card.

BLESS Final Test Is Well Optimized With Less Than 10% CPU Usage

BLESS' final test has come to an end on September 25th. Neowiz Games received many suggestions from testers. There are still a lot of aspects to be improved in near future. The well optimized servers provide good experience for players as the game marks less than 10% CPU usage on most players' computers. But the download speed and loading time are not satisfactory. In addition, too many bugs prevent players from having a pleasant gaming experience. Neowiz Games has made apology for the issues.
