Ship of Heroes Beefs Up

What better time than the heat of midsummer to show off some upgraded muscle action? The Ship of Heroes team agrees, and has pushed out some male model improvements that really pop. And this isn't just a simple reskinning! Extensive work went into the model upgrades beyond simple texturing, the model geometry, rigging and normal maps were all reworked to make these improvements affect every step of character creation and display.

The most intriguing part of this character upgrade was a single line hidden amidst the details I was given. What does this mean? I can't wait to find out!  I've already discussed how impressed I am with the current state of their character creation, so any hints at an improvement have me up and eager to learn more!

The upgrades to the models are part of a series of additions that foreshadow a new version of SoH’s already-excellent character creation system.

But it's one thing to say improvements have been made - how much has improved? Here is a side by side comparison of what can happen when characters lift weights. Or perhaps Ambassador has been eating super buffed Wheaties?

There are currently two base male models, a standard man and a larger, more bulked out model. Both have received this work over.  The product of character artist Robert Brown, these new models stand tall and strong, ready to take on evil monsters, villains and aliens in the name of the Justice Corps.

In addition to this visual upgrade, the team has revealed a new costume. It consists of 6 pieces that can be mixed and matched with other sets if desired; head, shoulders, chest, pants, belt and feet. Each piece has 2 color slots, a primary and secondary, that can be customized individually or simply matched to the rest of the costume for a uniform look. As is becoming standard, Ship of Heroes also allows for the toggling of head pieces, so you can show off that cool new helmet or display the face that you spent time making in character creation.

World of Dragon Nest: New Trailer, Gameplay Details and Release Schedule

If you are currently playing Dragon Nest or similar multiplayer action game, you should keep an eye on World of Dragon Nest now. The developer Eyedentity Games has revealed a lot of new information of the open world, cross-platform MMORPG. They also released a new gameplay trailer that shows a lot of open world combat footage.

World of Dragon Nest will feature characters from the original PC version and introduce in new characters. Players will face new enemies called "Paradise Exiles", according to the lead designer Do-hyung Kwon at Eyedentity Games. Of course, the new game will focus on larger scale combat and in the future, the end-game content will include guild wars which involves 60 players, 30 from each side, fighting each other.

Since World of Dragon Nest will be released on mobile platform, there will be auto combat, Eyedentity Games confirms. However, you can switch to manual mode anytime you want. The biggest feature is of course the non-targeting combat, and it's where the development mainly focuses on. In the new game, there will be a gauge on the screen and it's like an ultra skill system. Making both genders for each class is the other thing the developer team puts a lot of resources into, says Do-hyung Kwon.

The class and skill system has completely changed

In addition to gender lock removal, World of Dragon Nest completely ditches the class / skill system in Dragon Nest. There are 7 class archetypes in Dragon Nest, each of which has 2 paths for job advancement. In World of Dragon Nest, weapon defines your character's role and combat style. That means changing weapon will change how you fight since skills are bound to weapons. There will be classes in WoDN, and there will be class-specific weapons (for instance, only Warrior can use two-handed sword and battle axe). You can imagine how it works by looking at Guild Wars 2's weapon and skill system.

Besides, there will be a new class in WoDN that isn't available in DN, called Slayer.

Releasing in summer 2018

Do-hyung Kwon says the dev team has a lot of ideas for the Dragon Nest IP but they are not able to deliver all of them in the game released 7 years ago. He believes World of Dragon Nest will excite all Dragon Nest players.

World of Dragon Nest is expected to complete the development at the end of 2017 and release in summer 2018. Crossplay is supported, like Blizzards' Hearthstone.

A new spin-off class Oracle Elder has been added to the Korean server of Dragon Nest, and similar to the other spin-off classes such as Dark Avenger and Silver Hunter, the new class is based off Kali, one of the starting classes of the game.

Oracle Elder is really powerful, or you can say its overpowered specially in team fights and also in 1 VS 1 battles. She spins like a hurricane while chaining different skills together dealing massive AOE damage to all surrounding enemies into the battle.

You can watch Oracle Elder trailer below:

Fortnite: Soldier Guide For Beginners

Being the first class players experience in Fortnite, I should probably have started my series of class guides with the Soldier, but the Outlander and its exploration perks simply got to me (find the Outlander beginner’s guide here). Let’s wait no further get started with the Soldier’s introduction.

Fortnite is, just as importantly as its numerous other genre tags, a FPS game. And since zombies are involved, there’ll be some combat to do in between exploration and building phases. Your character is just as essential in the defense of your base as your walls and traps, and no class proves this better than the Soldier. Oriented towards damage, survivability and ammo efficiency, the Soldier heroes are here to terminate husks and don’t mind taking a few hits doing so.

Here is the list of Soldier heroes currently available:

Common - Legendary
  • Support Specialist
  • Rescue Trooper
  • Survivalist

Rare - Legendary
  • Special Forces
  • Centurion
  • Commando
  • Shock Trooper

Epic - Legendary
  • Warlord
  • Urban Assault
  • Mythic
  • Master Grenadier

Support Specialist

Like every soldier class Hero in the game, the Support Specialist is here to deal damage, and, to some extent, tank damage. As his name suggests, however, he possesses the secondary role of supporting allies either by buffing them or by debuffing enemies early on.

Perks (colored green, blue or purple according to the rarity level from which they become available):
  • Advanced Tactics: Increased the damage of ranged weapons and health by 10%.
  • War Cry: Increases the damage of allies within 4 tiles by 50% for 10 seconds. Also increases the attack speed of ranged weapons by 50 and that of melee weapons by 20%.
  • Debilitating Shots: Ranged damage stacks Vulnerability (increases damage taken by 5%) on enemies for 15 seconds. Stacks up to 3 times.
  • Combatants’ Might: Energy cost of War Cry reduced to 35.
  • Lingering Pain: The Vulnerability effect of Debilitating Shots can stack up to 5 times.
  • Frag Grenade: Throws a grenade that explodes after a few seconds, damaging enemies within 0.5 tiles.
  • Spoils of War: While War Cry is active, attacking with a ranged weapon has a 25% chance of returning the ammo used.
  • Ammo Recovery I: Attacking with an assault weapon has a 16% chance of returning the ammo used.
  • There Are Many Like It…: Weapons used while under the effect of War Cry lose no durability.
  • Goin’ Commando!!!: Fire 18 times per second for 10 seconds. Deals 13 base physical damage per shot.
  • Waste Not Want Not: Ammo capacity of all weapons increased by 40%.
  • Blitz: While under the effect of War Cry, movement speed is increased by 25%, and energy regen speed is increased by 10%.

Squad Bonus:
  • Quick Clip: Increases reload speed by 20%.

Rescue Trooper

Much more damage-focused than the Support Specialist, the Rescue Trooper also performs better in melee combat.

Perks (colored green, blue or purple according to the rarity level from which they become available):
  • Advanced Tactics: Increased the damage of ranged weapons and health by 10%.
  • Frag Grenade: Throws a grenade that explodes after a few seconds, damaging enemies within 0.5 tiles.
  • Debilitating Shots: Ranged damage stacks Vulnerability (increases damage taken by 5%) on enemies for 15 seconds. Stacks up to 3 times.
  • Steady Aim: Weapon recoil reduced by 29%.
  • Quick Clip: Increases reload speed by 40%.
  • Shockwave: Damages and knocks back enemies within 1 tile.
  • Survivalist: Heals for a base of 5 health for each enemy killed with a ranged weapon.
  • Ammo Recovery I: Attacking with an assault weapon has a 16% chance of returning the ammo used.
  • Assault Damage: Increases the damage of assault weapons by 24%.
  • Goin’ Commando!!!: Fire 18 times per second for 10 seconds. Deals 13 base physical damage per shot.
  • Heavily Armored: Damage resistance increased by 24%.
  • Waste Not Want Not: Ammo capacity of all weapons increased by 40%.

Squad Bonus
  • Ammo Recovery: Attacking with an assault weapon has a 16% chance of returning the ammo used.

Survivalist

With a higher health pool that his other Soldier counterparts, and a number of defensive abilities, the Survivalist is the hero to pick if you plan to get all close and personal with husks.

Perks (colored green, blue or purple according to the rarity level from which they become available):
  • Advanced Tactics: Increased the damage of ranged weapons and health by 10%.
  • Shockwave: Damages and knocks back enemies within 1 tile.
  • Debilitating Shots: Ranged damage stacks Vulnerability (increases damage taken by 5%) on enemies for 15 seconds. Stacks up to 3 times.
  • Survivalist: Heals for a base of 5 health for each enemy killed with a ranged weapon.
  • Assault Damage: Increases the damage of assault weapons by 24%.
  • Frag Grenade: Throws a grenade that explodes after a few seconds, damaging enemies within 0.5 tiles.
  • No Time To Bleed: Doubles the amount of health through Survivalist per enemy killed.
  • Quick Clip: Increases reload speed by 40%.
  • Clean Living: Base health increased by 20%.
  • Goin’ Commando!!!: Fire 18 times per second for 10 seconds. Deals 13 base physical damage per shot.
  • Waste Not Want Not: Ammo capacity of all weapons increased by 40%.
  • Flak Vest: Grants 90% damage reduction. Damage reduction goes down by 30% with each hit taken. Flak vest is disabled for 60 seconds after taking a third hit, after which it resets back to 90%.

Squad Bonus
  • Armored: Increases damage resistance by 8%.

While they can definitely do an okay job accomplishing them, the Soldier class should definitely not be picked if you plan to focus on construction or exploration.

Nine the Most Violent and Exciting VR Games

1 GORN

GORN is a ludicrously violent VR gladiator simulator, made by Free Lives, the developers of Broforce and Genital Jousting. Featuring a unique, fully physics driven combat engine, GORN combatants will be able to creatively execute their most violent gladiatorial fantasies in virtual reality. Savagely strike down an infinite supply of poorly-animated opponents with all manner of weapons – from swords, maces, and bows to nunchuks, throwing knives, massive two-handed war hammers or even your blood-soaked bare hands. The only limits to the carnage are your imagination and decency, in the most brutal and savage VR face-smashing game ever produced by man.

Maybe the graphic is not as well as the rest games I mentioned in this article, but considering you can almost do anything to your enemies, graphic really doesn’t matter for having fun. For instance, you can not only use weapons mentioned before, you also can hold the dead body as a weapon to hit your enemies. And even more, you can just pull your rivals apart by your hands!

But it also has many problems, like enemies may be stuck by dead bodies, your weapon may suddenly disappear, and the most creepy thing is a lot of heads just folat in the air staring at you. But overall it’s a funny game worth to play.

Now check out this video to see how cool it is.

2.DOOM VFR

Doom is a first-person shooter developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks. Doom was well received by critics and players, especially for its single-player campaign, graphics, and gameplay.

And as Doom come into VR version, it promise to be the most bloody ever. As we can see from the videos, blood just pump out in front of your eyes, and enemies can pull you arms and legs a part. I think brutal gameplay fans of the series would love to play it in virtual reality.

3. Resident evil 7

Resident Evil 7 is one of the first blockbuster games playable entirely in virtual reality. If you played or heard this game before, you definitely know it is a perfect game for VR. VR provide a more real scene for players to explore. It is more immersive than the other platform.

Although the VR version has some problems like the text may cuts through objects or when you mess around with the camera you’ll also need to rotate the camera using the right stick. But it is still doing great job on fantastic immersive experience.
This is a Resident Evil 7 Kitchen demo video and we can see how terrifying this game is.

4. Sairento VR

This is a game that you can experience the feeling of being a Ninja. So, as a Ninja, you can climb wall, double jumps and even shut down times. katanas, firearms, bows, throwing glaives.

What attract me most is you can cut your enemies into pieces with your katanas! Because it was really awesome! Especially when you play it with VR controller, it feels so real but also looks so ridiculous in real life. So don’t play it in front of your friends.

5.Dead Effect 2 VR

This game is a little bit like the Sairento VR, because the most exciting part is cut your enemy’s head with your sword or blow up their head by using a bow. But most of Sairento VR’s enemies are look like robots (Although they can bleed). And Dead Effect is designed to kill zombies. So you won’t have that many skills but you can use more guns instead.

6. Arizona Sunshine

Arizona Sunshine is a first-person shooter built exclusively for VR that immerses you in a post-apocalyptic southwestern America overrun by zombies. Arizona Sunshine is a VR shooter exclusively built for VR. Step into the midst of a zombie apocalypse as if you were really there and take on the undead unlike ever before.

7. Accounting

The first time I saw this game I thought it is a funny cartoon Puzzle game, but it said content contain cartoon violence, gore, suicide, tax work. And this game is really creative and has a weird story which a little bit like Inception but much more creepy. Check out this video you will know what I’m saying.

8. Serious Sam VR

I think this series don’t need me to tell you how violent and bloody. There are two products have been released, and you can download them on steam. It feels really great when you execute tons of aliens with two shotguns at once.

Clik here to download: Serious Sam VR: The First Encounter
Serious Sam VR: The Second Encounter

9. Horde Z

It’s a old game that blends between classics like Doom, Left 4 dead and House of the Dead. But the exciting part is you can see the bodies break into piece, and all legs, arms fly in the air.
But as there are more VR shoot games released with better graphic and sound, this game is not that worth to purchase.

Besides, Aion Legions, Blade & Soul Mobile, and Lineage Eternal Mobile are still in development, are scheduled to release (probably in South Korea first) between Q4 2017 and the end of 2018.

Another interesting fact is that NCsoft did consider Guild Wars 2 mobile version, although they admitted that it's too early to seriously think of it.

Take a Look at Bless Online Remake's New Character Customization System

$

0
Part of the things the Bless Onlinerebuild project will focus on is the character customization system, as the developer Neowiz believes that characters need to be felt different. So in the Rebuild server, the new character customization provides more options and freedom for players to make their characters. Take a look at what's change below. It's worth noting that the images shown below don't represent the final look of the game.

The original Bless Online's characters are designed to look westernized since the game sets in a fantasy medieval world. However, that makes players don't have a lot of choices when they create their characters. The new system removes the restrictions and allows you to adjust and modify the character face and body freely.

Before, you can only choose from a certain number of hair color provided by the game. Now you can use the color palette to make any color you want.

In terms of hairstyle, the Rebuild server adds 30 new hairstyles for each race.

And a lot of new options are added to eyebrow / iris / pupil and skin color.

A good example to demonstrate the new character customization is that you can make character of the Mascu race look like human, and that's something you can't do with the old system.

Yonder The Cloud Catcher Chronicles Review

$
0
0
Behind this extended name lies a relatively simple game, which is motivated only by your desire for exploration. Produced by the small Australian studio called Prideful Sloth - mostly counting Activision and Rocksteady alumni, Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles does not hide its similarities to certain titles like Harvest Moon or Zelda, but offers something quite unique in the world of adventure games: a real journey without any imperative goal or danger.

Beginning with a character editor that is quite basic and does not really include any personalization other than the character's gender and hair/skin color, Yonder plunges you into the adventure immediately, aboard a ship plagued by stormy and turbulent waves. You then find yourself on the nearest island, called Géméa, where you will meet small spirits requiring your help to eradicate the scourge that plagues this haven of peace: The Murk.

Exploration Above Narration
If the initial pitch can suggest that your journey will be full of pitfalls and dark monsters you’ll need to fight to purify the island, it is not. We are even very far away, for the only creatures to populate Geméa are only adorable animals such as herbivorous foxes or innocuous bisons. The Murk, although initially described as a threat to the inhabitants of the island, is actually translated into a mere violet mist, blocking access to certain areas. By collecting the spirits, that number twenty-six in total, you will be able to clean the different areas, and eventually discover where this curse comes from.

The main quest is limited to that, but playing in that capacity, with only that goal in mind, would have you miss out on what makes Yonder's essence. Once the prologue has been completed, the whole island will be offered to you, aside from the zones tainted by the Murk, inviting you to explore it on all its surface, armed only with your tools and your magic compass. The latter is a great help in avoiding getting lost thanks to a light beam pointing towards the place where one of our quests tells us to go. With a simple touch of a key, it allows you to visualize the different tasks/quests that are available through a clear and detailed navigation. While I did regret not being able to place markers on the map, that is a very meager concern.

This map proves to be quite large, full of small shortcuts and branching path, allowing you to indulge into your curiosity to the maximum, exploring every nook and cranny to discover what is hidden there. This is the great force of the game, where the journey is not driven by a material reward like a legendary sword or a very rare item. Sometimes, climbing a distant hill or exploring a mysterious cave will have no other meaning than to satisfy your curiosity, with the landscape and the feeling of wonder being the only tributes of your efforts. Though it is difficult to speak of efforts, as exploration is made accessible.

With the absence of a game over or tensions related to dangers, traveling through Géméa is a real pleasure without any obstacle. Falling into the water will only cause a black fade that will take you back to dry land, while your umbrella will make you soar if you stumble from a cliff. People who are not looking for a peaceful and relaxing game have a vested interest in moving on. Yonder is built to escape, living dream, and relaxing without asking yourself other questions.

Casual Gathering and Crafting
Despite this very open and accessible side, the game has some crafting and gathering components that prove to be rather engaging. Using various tools such as a pickaxe or a hammer, you will be able to harvest many materials, or even fish via a very simple mini-game. All these resources can be requested by the inhabitants of the island to fulfil the various quests available from unique characters like the bearded woman and the fashionista scarecrow. If one can somewhat regret the lack of background and writing in these tasks, they add to this idea of lightness and constant travel. The game offers many, and it is not uncommon to end up with more than twenty quests waiting to be completed, which is explained by the fact that the player is always attracted somewhere.

Thus, the harvesting of these objects happens naturally on the way, and does not appear as a bumpy task. Moreover, the absence of an instantaneous rapid journey - which can be a little annoying sometimes - participates in these wanderings, offering you the opportunity to fill up your inventory on the journey. This may prove to be a problem at times, as it should be noted that inventory management is not the most effective. After a few hours of playing, I found myself out of inventory space, and considering the number of items you’ll be hoarding both for quests and your personal crafts, it can become a handicap. Chests are naturally available to store our surplus, but their lack of direct access will sometimes make us sacrifice certain resources at the expense of others.

Besides the harvest, there is another way of obtaining these commodities: trading. Do not rely on coins or other local currency to pay, since everything is based on a barter and exchange system. In order to get the items you want at the merchant, you will need to exchange items with the same market value. This system has its small subtlety: depending on the place, some types of objects will have more value than elsewhere. No need to sell stones to the inhabitants of the mountain, they will offer you much more for a few pieces of wood.

These materials, besides being important for the quests of the inhabitants and for the commerce, will also be used to construct buildings, like bridges allowing you to discover new areas, or farms. In the latter, you can adopt animals, which will provide you with various objects if the farm is well maintained. You can customize this space as you wish, but the possibilities when it comes to crafting remain quite simple and are limited to a few elements, the game being far from the diversity of Minecraft. Note, however, that despite a very basic character creator at the beginning of the game, the personalization of your adventurer during his epic is quite pleasant. It is possible to create clothes of all kinds, and especially unisex, offering you many choices.

An Artistic Direction That Favors Immersion
If the question of the graphics has not yet been addressed, it is because it is difficult to judge Yonder on this criterion. One can actually note textures that sometimes come dripping out of the map, and some somewhat obvious, in addition to some micro-slowdowns according to the zones. These points could have been embarrassing if they were not completely eclipsed by the artistic direction of Geméa, offering the player a constant wonder, reminiscent of that particular style that Zelda The Wind Waker possessed. There is an undeniable charm here, and at every level, whether in the sets, the animals or the characters, that make this universe incredibly immersive and poetic.

All this is embellished with a discrete soundtrack that adapts itself perfectly to the tone of the game, offering some joyful and intoxicating themes. Concretely, everything is assembled to offer you the most pleasant experience possible. While you will not need more than a handful of hours to complete the main quest, you'll need much more time to explore and uncover Geméa's many secrets. The best advice to give is therefore to take your time, because it is your curiosity that will actually depend on the lifespan.

Conclusion
Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is undoubtedly a singular game, in many ways. Surely, it will not suit those specifically looking for challenge or a strong narration. To appreciate it, one must accept it for what it is, namely a real initiation to immersion and travel. By removing all sense of urgency, Yonder proves that the desire for exploration can be quite a sufficient experience, and shows with humility and sincerity that an adventure can be exciting, even without danger.

Albion Online is a sandbox MMORPG set in a medieval fantasy world. The game is only available in the market for couple of weeks and it faces the same troubles most new MMOs would do, like gold farmers and DDoS attacks. During the last few days, the game servers were under a series of DDoS attacks and the developer was blackmailed by the attackers.

"This is most likely in response to our recent actions against gold sellers to coerce us to no interfere with their illegal business", the developer Sandbox Interactive said, "We also received a ransom demand from the attackers." Now, according to the latest forum update, the servers have been back online, and the ransom isn't paid.
