Uncertain dark plot and New Goodness system

It’s worth noting that, on the basis of the continuation of the classic Roguelike framework Buried town 2 will also add a more authentic role goodness system on this time. The addition of the system makes the player's every choice become a human torture. When a bad guy can lead to take a more "wealth", to a large extent reduce the survival difficult, but the resulting change may also affect the role goodness and affect the role’s mind, eventually led to the tragic ending. While a good man can comfort the player's mind, but the high difficulty caused by the good man may not lead characters to survive over three days. It is up to you to decide.

Dauntless Beginner Guide Part 1: I'm a Hunter, but Just Discovered It

$

0

Hi everyone, Dezart (Or Masterseek) here with you again.

Dauntless has been a real mix of feelings. From frustration to awe. I really hope the game does well in the future, that they fix all the issues before adding new content... and to follow that wish I decided to write a "little" guide to help all those people who have not played a Monster Hunter DNA game in their lives.

It may also be helpful for those who have... However I'll be talking to those who don't know much about this genre, so keep it in mind.

NOW, to start... what is Dauntless?

Well, Dauntless means to be fearless and determined, so it kind of makes sense for it  to be the name of the Co-op action RPG for PC developed by Phoenix labs.

The aesthetics are timeless. Graphically it won't ask much of your computer and right now is a really casual game. You won't earn or lose anything if you stop playing, so you can enjoy your time, leave it there then come back all fresh to continue you hunts.

BUT, there is one point I have to make clear: Dauntless is not an MMO. With that I mean you won't find hundreds of players hunting the same behemoth. There are no raids of 10-30 players either. In fact, the biggest group will be you and three more hunters.

You may find lots of players in town though.

So, before this becomes a review instead of a guide, I'll start giving you useful information about:

Hunting and Crafting.

Lore speaking, the behemoths are vicious creatures who are eating away the primary planet's resource: the Aether. Which makes them even more dangerous because of their Aether strengthened attributes: extra hard skin, extra sharp fangs, extra fire, extra ice, extra...

You get where I'm going right?

So is no surprise that the best weapons against them are the behemoths themselves... or what's left of them. That's where the Hunting and Crafting enters the scene: everytime you hunt one successfully, you'll recieve a few material drops and an Aether core.

The material drops come once the behemoth is killed. They will depend on probability and if any of the behemoth's body parts were broken enough times to award an certain piece.

An Aether core is a little capsule which contains from just a few things to a great deal of that behemoth's materials depending on the rarity of the core: from common to Epic.

(I don't know if there is a Legendary rarity. If so please correct me)

So what to do with your materials? If you've done the mission of hunting a certain behemoth, you'll get recipes to craft its armour (some doesn't), its weapon and its lantern (sometimes).

As a hunter, these are indispensable tools to be able to survive any encounter. Which is why it is our top priority to keep them upgraded and at the level of what we are hunting.

So, Where do you craft your equipment?

Well, you need to go to this girl in order to craft armour:

A whole set of armour is composed of a helm, upper part, pants and boots. Apart from the base resistance stat (Defense, not too much to explain here), every Behemoth's gives different stats called Aspects. They are diverse in order to fit all playstyles.

Armour parts can be upgraded, which means they will give you more resistance and even more aspects points sometimes. Of course, you'll need more materials, but you can click on "details" in order to see what will you get in higher upgrade tiers to judge if it is worth or not.

Next, weapons. They can be crafted with this guy:

Right now there are four kinds: the sword, the Gunhammer, the Axe and the Chainblades. All of them have their own playstyle, but right now I'll cover only the crafting part.

There is one note to have in mind though. Despite being derived from the same behemoth, not all weapons ask for the same materials. This applies to their upgrades too. However, unlike armour crafting, you can't see how a weapon escalates. It would be a nice addition in my opinion, as some have a lower initial damage yet they become really good, outshining the ones who were better at the start.

And then comes lanterns. You can craft them with this guy:

The first thing question that some of you may have... What can a lantern do against a giant killing beast? Well, for starters it can't blind them. No, lanterns are for you and your teammates use. Depending on what kind of lantern  you are carrying, you will be able to heal, grant resistance, shields... and they also grant a passive base resistance and aspects to complete your set.

They cannot be upgraded, yet crafting them various times may result in a better lantern, as the quality is random. They are not usually hard to craft anyway.

Finally, lanterns function on a charge basis. They become full by damaging a behemoth or... reaching an Aether source (Fissures on the ground emanating a blue/green glow out of them) to heal yourself.

Now, in order to cover everything that can be crafted I'll also mention some items which need materials that can't be found in a Behemoth's body or Aether core. No, these resources are scattered across the islands and you need to look for them while on a hunt.

(They should add a gathering mission though. Some materials can only be found at a certain time or in the middle of a certain weather/ecosystem, which makes them tedious to gather. Is really fun killing to arrive at an island, see that is not the map you need and having to relog or suicide in order to enter another one)

The items I'm talking about are airship support flares, which can be crafted with this guy:

And they can do a variety of things, like ask for health packs or to find resources surrounding you.

Finally, there is this other guy who you'll probably meet first, who can craft potions!

From health to berserk potions. You'll find everything you need... as long as you are far enough in the game. You'll get missions which will unlock different potions. There will be Major healing potions, stamina potions which increase your source regeneration, Resistance potions which grants you an increased defence against a certain kind of damage...

I think I covered everything which there is to craft. I'll write consecutives guide parts to cover the weapons and the rest.

Clash Royale: The Best Arena 9 Decks

Ultimate Arena 9 Decks That Will Smash Any Opponent

The Jungle Arena is where all the fun lies at the moment in Clash Royale. You will find many experienced clashers struggling through this arena to get to Arena 10. If you are one of those, then you have come to the right place. Here, we aim to aid those players who possess remarkable skills and a noteworthy game sense to build a strong deck that will take them through the intimidating forests of the Jungle Arena.

Hence, brace yourselves for some of the most powerful Arena 9 decks that the realm of Clash Royale has ever bumped into.

The strong, the worthy, and the bubbly; these three musketeers are a terrifying combination in any fictional domain. And that includes the fascinating world of Clash Royale. No wonder they are the most expensive troops out here.

While some players are a little hesitant to play the Three Musketeers due to the fact that a single Fireball or Lightning card can vaporize this high elixir card. As long as you play your cards right you shouldn’t have an issue. TIP: Use the Elixir Collector to bait the fireball. However, be sure to place it on the opposite side of where you are placing your Musketeers.

The DeckThree Musketeers Arena 9 Clash Royale Deck
  • Three Musketeers
  • Battle Ram
  • Elixir Collector
  • Minions
  • Knight
  • Miner
  • Zap
  • Skeletons
At first sight, this deck seems to be elixir heavy. However, the Average Elixir Cost is a meager 3.8. The technique lies in splitting the Three Musketeers near the King tower. Two out of the three will go one way while the third will target the other tower. Thus, the opponent’s first instinct will be to counter the two musketeers.

All you need to do is drop the Battle Ram in front of the third musketeer, along with any supporting troops like the Minions, Knight, or the Miner. Additionally, the Skeletons will normally be used for kiting any offensive troops from the opponent.

Cheap is Powerful

Cheap Hog Elite Barbs Split Push Arena 9 Clash Royale Deck
This is by far THE most effective cheap deck that could be used in Arena 9. Needless to say, it is overly effective. While I understand that there are obviously cheaper combinations you could create – none would compare to the effectiveness of this deck. Play cards as often as you can with this deck. Split pushing with Hog and Elite Barbs is key in this combo.

The DeckCheap Arena 9 Clash Royale Deck
  • Hog Rider
  • Goblin Gang
  • Elite Barbarians
  • Musketeer
  • Archers
  • Cannon
  • Zap
  • The Log
If you like to push the other end of the arena with Hog Rider, the Goblin Gang will provide the added benefit in Arena 9. The Elite Barbarians and the Archers can be dropped on one end of the map. As soon as the opponent tries to defend those troops, deploy the Hog Rider and the Goblin Gang on the other end of the map. Your opponent is bound
to be baffled by this unique combo.

Modified Pekka-Balloon Deck:
Pekka Loon Arena 9 Clash Royale Deck
Do you absolutely love the Pekka-Balloon combo? This modified deck will be the perfect match for you. Tip: Remember, the Tornado can be used to pull troops to the other side of the map in order to stop them from attacking your Balloon or Pekka. Also – be sure to play Fire Spirits behind the Ballon and Pekka.

The DeckPEKKA Balloon Arena 9 Clash Royale Deck
  • Pekka
  • Balloon
  • Elixir Collector
  • Executioner
  • Tornado
  • Ice Golem
  • Zap
  • Fire Spirits
The strategy for this deck is similar to that which you may have used in the lower arenas. Deploy the Balloon behind the Pekka and let those troops do what they do best – destroy the tower. Also, you will need the Executioner to finish off any distractions for the Pekka. Additionally, the Fire Spirits and the Zap are useful in slaying the Minions and Minion Horde. Moreover, the Ice Golem will render the added benefit for clearing the way. Furthermore, the Tornado will mainly be utilized for defense.

The End

Real Money Trading in Games: A Cryptocurrency Solution

$
0
0
Real money trading has a long history in the game industry, and has been historically banned or discouraged by most Western game developers and publishers, especially in the case of MMORPGs. Coincidentally, MMORPGs are also the games in which Real Money Trading and Markets are in highest demand by users, due to the way that resource and item scarcity gate progress.
Below are a few examples of Trading and Market implementations in real games.

Team Fortress 2 and DOTA 2
These games contain “cosmetic item markets” (Steam Workshop) where you can exchange or sell your goods to another player for real dollars. This is condoned and encouraged by Valve, and they created a backend and framework to support this type of exchange.

Valve has disclosed that over 90% of the items in TF2 were actually created by players. Users can submit models and textures to be voted on by the community, and those with high enough ratings are sold in the TF2 store. Creators a cut of the profits.

There is no publically available data concerning turnover in the cosmetic item market in DOTA 2, but in 2015 total monthly revenue of the game exceeded $18 million USD.

Second Life
Second Life is an Online Virtual World. While not a traditional MMOG, Second Life fosters interaction between players and with the world by simulating as much of the real world as possible in a virtual space. Linden Labs, the developer, implemented a player-centric economy in which players can make real money. The economy is build upon the Linden Dollars (L$), which players can earn by engaging in various activities in the game. Some activities are quite passive, such as sitting on camping chairs, while others like creating virtual content and trading virtual real estate require real skill.

Some players would rather save time and spend cash for L$, and other players prefer to generate L$ with their in-game activities. The balance between these types of players supports the LindeX Currency Exchange, and provide the liquidity necessary to allow players to purchase L$ for real currency.

Entropia Universe
Entropia Universe is a good example of a game that allows players to exchange hard currency into real money. Entropia uses a micropayment business model in which players may buy in-game currency (PED - Project Entropia Dollars) with real money. Later, if the user gains more than they can use or decides to leave the game, they can redeem their remaining PED for U.S. dollars at a fixed exchange rate of 10:1. This means that virtual items acquired within Entropia Universe have a real cash value, and the company generates income via transaction fees levied during the exchange process.

Like Lordmancer II, Entropia Universe is a free game, but spending money on the in-game currency allows users to purchase items, skills, deeds/shares, and services from other players. Entropia also contains a market where expendable resources (ammunition, probes, guns, finders, extractors) can be purchased directly or other players.

Entropia Universe was noted in the Guinness World Records Book in both 2004 and 2008 for the most expensive sale of a virtual world object. In 2009, a virtual space station, a popular destination in the game, sold for $330,000 USD. This was then eclipsed in November 2010 when Jon Jacobs sold a club named "Club Neverdie" for $635,000 USD; this property was sold in pieces, the largest of which was sold for $335,000 USD.

According to the MindArk’s 2015 earnings report, their 2015 profit was 4 million SEK.

World of Warcraft & Diablo III
Prior to Diablo III, Blizzard did not permit any form of real money trading in their games, and the company engaged in long-running and generally-successful campaign to stop character leveling services and gold farmers/sellers in World of Warcraft. At the same time that Blizzard was working on eliminating external game markets, they also began to experiment with monetization of their their games with in-app purchases like special mounts and realm transfers.

In July of 2011, Blizzard announced that the Diablo III Auction House would include a real money aspect auction house. Only items (and eventually characters) would be available for sale, and Blizzard intended for it to operate in tandem with the in-game gold auction house. Players would be able to list items on either service and Blizzard charged a flat fee for each item listed (to discourage players from flooding the market with junk items). Transaction fees on successful purchases were also applied. Proceeds from sales on the real money auction house could be spent on Blizzard merchandise and games, or withdrawn into actual currency for a small transaction fee paid to Blizard and their financial partner.

In late 2011 and early 2012 a lengthy saga ensued as the Korean Games Rating Board repeatedly refused to certify Diablo III for sale in Korea due to inclusion of the real money Auction House. Korea strictly regulates all online and offline forms of gambling, and the design of the real money mechanism built into Diablo III’s categorizes it as a form of gambling. One quote from a September 2011 Korea Times article explains the potential problem:

“The issue of gambling, illegal for Korean nationals, is a sensitive one, especially after a 2005-06 nationwide scandal over the Sea Story game machines that first passed the regulatory body inspection but were removed after the police discovered excessively speculative and addictive behavior among the players. Due to this controversy, the watchdog and approval committee was created in the Game Rating Board.
The country’s attitude toward gaming involving cash transactions has irked Blizzard’s local staff who are reluctant to deal with the controversy expected with the introduction of the auction house but are forced by headquarters to launch the feature, an industry source familiar with the matter said.”

This prediction proved correct, and when Diablo III was submitted to the ratings board in early 2012, there were significant delays. Blizzard submitted a second time with the "cash out" element removed, but was still unable to receive an age rating in Korea. Not until Diablo III was submitted without any real money auction house at all was the game finally approved for sale, on January 13th 2012.

No Blizzard games since 2012 have featured any kind of real money trading.

Cryptocurrency: a possible solution
These examples along with a numerous black markets for game items and currency demonstrate a clear interest from players in real money trading. However, projects that implement various forms of the mechanic meet several difficulties:
  • It’s difficult to balance an in-game economy which is connected to an external currency, and often causes developer revenue to be volatile and unpredictable;
  • In some regions the mechanics may cause the game to fall into a category of gambling games are regulated differently from other games.
An MMO RPG called Lordmancer II claims to be “the first open-world MMORPG on mobile where players can mine cryptocurrency”. Its creator, a russian game studio Active Games, introduced an Ethereum-based cryptocurrency token as the game’s second hard currency. According to Active Games, this approach solves both problems:
  • The game economy is based on a turnover of Lord Coin, and is regulated through token burn and developer fees levied on each transaction;
  • Lordmancer II only allows users to withdraw crypto tokens, so officially the game can not be treated as gambling.

A player can purchase LordCoins in one of three possible ways.

On a crypto exchange
After the game’s ICO is finished this October and the game is released, its LordCoin tokens will be available on crypto exchanges. Any player will be able to purchase tokens and move them to their game account.

On the game’s website
Alternatively, a player will be able to purchase LordCoins on the game’s website. This would be convenient to those players not familiar with cryptocurrency world. In this case, the game itself would purchase LordCoins on a crypto exchange and move it to the player’s account. The price will be twice as high, due to additional conversion costs.

In the game

There is another hard currency in Lordmancer II. It’s called Crystals and it can be purchased for fiat money using standard in-app purchase mechanisms provided by appstores.
A player will be able to exchange Crystals for LordCoins, but at a rate four times higher than on a crypto exchange. This is due to even higher costs: only some 30% of a player’s payment will reach Active Games, of which 25% will be spent on purchasing tokens.

Players are winners

Using this approach, Active Games studio aims to make its Lordmancer II an attractive ecosystem for players wishing to earn fiat money by farming in-game items and by cultivating game characters for sale.  Of course, the game itself needs to be good enough to become popular. Will the studio succeed? Only time will tell.

At this time, Lordmancer II is in beta-testing in Russia, it is available in russian Google Play.
The studio sold out Pre ICO in August and raised 340 ETH. The main ICO round starts on October 23.

We reported last month that MU Legend's global open beta was postponed to November. Today, Webzen revealed the new OBT date for the hack and slash MMO will be November 7. "Being faithfully committed to the delivery of the game, what was initially planned to be a three-month-long development, QA and localization process (cf. Producer Letter) has been shrunk  to a duration of two months only", stated Webzen.

More over, Webzen invites all pavailable users
to take part in a stress test (labeled "#Breakourserver") scheduled for September 23rd.

Dennis Czybulka, Webzen's COO declared: “To satisfy our strong wish to offer the most optimized game experience, we are willingly stressing one portion of our server system, jamming its capabilities in order to get precious technical data before the OBT release".[...] "We cannot adequately test all worst-case scenarios virtually, so we will need the cooperation of our  fans to push our server to breaking point."

Nevertheless, players must know that the game client which is now available on the NEW MU Legend website is an early download of the game that will be updated for the upcoming OBT release.

Here is a calss-selected guide for you to getting started and know advantages and disadvantages about  every classes.

There are 8 current Classes (or jobs) in Maplestory 2:Knight, Berserker, Priest, Wizard, Ranger, Heavy Gunner, Thief, Assassin.

KNIGHT

The Royal Guard, under the leadership of the Prime Minister Cal, protect Tria Palace and the area around it and act as guardians to the royal family. They are known for their incredible loyalty, chivalrous spirit, and excellent swordsmanship. The Royal Guard’s cardinal rule is to protect Ereb, it is of utmost importance to keep her safe from those who threaten her.

Weapon: Long Sword (right hand), Shield (left hand)
Attributes: Physical, Holy
Stats: STR, weapon attack, defense
Difficulty: 3/5

Knight is not a traditional Tank as we know in MMO games, because this class don’t have a taunt skill. But knight can prevent physical damage to herself and her party. And she also has a high DPS. So, knight not only can perform great in teamwork but also a strong class in PVP.
Highly recommend for new starter.

Berserker

Rulers of the battlefield who love to fight. Without fear due to their obsession and madness, Berserkers rampage while wielding their Great Sword and instill fear within their opponents. They charge straight into enemy lines, destroying them with their overwhelming power. When cornered, they bring out an even more amazing strength.

Weapon: Huge Sword
Attributes: Physical
Stats: weapon attack, fire
Difficulty: 1/5

Berserker is the easiest class, and has really high DPS in PVE, so berserker always the first line in the team. But because of the limit of attack range and lack of buff skill, sometimes it’s hard to play this class. Especially in PVP model.

WIZARD

Since ancient times, Ellinia’s fairies have stayed deep in the woods, creating their own world away from humans. But suddenly, the world was thrown into severe chaos and in need of their power. They opened their door slightly, and began to carefully accept adventurers who were interested in their ancient knowledge.

Weapon: Staff
Attributes: Fire, Ice, Lightning
Stats: INT, magic attack, attack speed
Difficulty: 1/5

Wizard is a powerful class in almost every game version, although wizard is not the highest DPS class, but at least wizard always is one of top 3 DPS classes. What’s more. Wizard has a strongest dash ability. It’s a little bit hard to master this ability, but once you master it, this class can do a real great job in PVE and PVP model.
It is a highly recommended class for rookie, no matter you want to pay to play or not.

PRIEST

The Priest shares the teachings of God and was sent to the palace privately to help give emotional stability to others. With a divine aura, the Priest calms them and brightens their lives while staying at their sides.

Weapon: Scepter (right hand), Spell Book (left hand)
Attributes: Holy, Fire
Stats: magic attack, maximum HP, critical chance
Difficulty: 4/5

Priest is not the only class can heal HP for other characters, but can also heal SP which is useful. And how much you can heal your party is based on your magic attack, which means even you don’t have a strong weapon you still important in team.

RANGER

Rangers are a part of the vigilante group called the Green Hoods, founded by the legendary archer Hastur. The Fifth Captain Oscar monitors Henesys and the surrounding area. Tria and Henesys are geologically close, and there is seemingly a relationship between the royal family and the Green Hoods. There is a rumour that they are related to the royal family and carry out unofficial activities in secret, but it has not been confirmed.

Weapon: Bow
Attributes: Physical, Fire, Ice
Stats: DEX, weapon attack, critical chance
Difficulty: 2/5

Ranger is the easiest job to operate. Good at DPS but lack of escape ability. So if you don’t have confident on your operate, maybe you should take ranger into your consideration.

HEAVY GUNNER

Carrying their heavy artillery weapons called Cannons, they are outlaws of the battlefield and destroy everything with a casual look on their faces. Even with their natural strength, dexterity, and powerful weapon, they are hard to work with. Their unpredictable and eccentric natures mean never-ending problems with these brats.

Weapon: Heavy gun
Attributes: Physical, Fire, Lightning
Stats: weapon attack, attack speed
Difficulty: 3/5

In this version,  almost no one choose this class. Although DPS is high, but this character is too heavy and move really slow. Although she did perform good in PVP mode, if you are looking for fast fighting, this character is not reccomended.

ASSASSIN

Although some people know about the Assassins, very little is known about their existence itself. However, it is obvious that after the world fell into chaos and the Dark Wind’s leader Wynn Steelton had died that immoral and inhumane events that were not a problem previously have been increasing steadily.

Weapon: Pair of Stars
Attributes: Physical, Fire, Ice
Stats: LUK, weapon attack, attack speed
Difficulty: 3/5

Someone said that assassin is a class for rich people, because you need to spend lots of money on your weapons. And if you can really master this job, assassin will become an awesome DPS.

THIEF

With sleek and crafty movements, their enemies beg for mercy in front of their eyes. Faster than light, they swing their daggers in both hands as their enemies fall to the ground.

Instead of justice and morals, power is what matters in alleyways, which is where the wandering rebel Jonathan Button and his group of followers, Thieves, began. Because of this, some people think it’s funny to call them “alley misfits who don’t even know the basics of life”.

However, the Thieves do not like this point of view. Although they are outsiders who rejected society, they live freely without others telling them what to do, which some people envy.

Weapon: Dagger
Attributes: Physical, Poison
Stats: LUK, weapon attack, flash
Difficulty: 5/5

Thief is a badass at last version, but now this class is not that good anymore. Thief’ DPS is high but attack range is too short. That’s why sometimes you spent lots of time on your character, but DPS may not as high as other easy operate classes.
Thief perform good in PVP model, but not that useful in teamwork. So, unless you are really interested in this class and confident in you APM, not recommend.

Except these eight classes, there are some new classes released by Nexon Korea, but I think these classes were unavailable during CBT. But we can see some pictures about these new classes first.

In summarize, if you have your favorite class then you can choose it, but if you don’t, here are some references:

Free to play lover: Knight, Priest, Wizard
Pay to play lover: Berserker, Wizard, Assassin, Thief
PVP lover: Wizard, Knight, Thief, Heavy gunner
.
