As we are still in the localization and polishing process to adapt to the Western market, this early alpha version of the EU/NA client will be only able to provide a basic gameplay experience and does not reflect the final state of the product at launch.
You will also find some features present that are disabled or not fully functional. This is intentional as we are focusing on tweaking the hardware (server integration) and client configuration. A detailed list of known issues can be found when you launch the game. This build will only be playable in English. The level cap during this Alpha is 30.
Destroyer in Play
The Destroyer focuses on dealing two types of damage: Earth or Shadow. Not all skills will have an associated elemental damage, but those that do will have their damage increased with the selection of the right items. Focusing around these damage types is advantageous in the long run, especially as you get to end-game dungeons.
While in a party, the Destroyer’s preference for the front line does not translate into maintaining the attention of their enemies, as their threat generation is low. Instead, their strength and high endurance provides ample opportunity to provide support—rescuing downed allies, protecting the more vulnerable from harm, or specializing in removing afflictions from their party. They also excel at setting up group combos for their other team members to take advantage of.
In Arena PvP, the Destroyer can easily escape any attempts to hold them down by simply spinning away. Get your opponent to throw away the cooldowns of their limited escapes, and then overwhelm them with a variety of stuns and knockdowns. Then you can take full advantage of their defenselessness by focusing on critical damage, and quickly finishing them off with fast successive axe cleaves.

You almost never want to pick this card except in extremely rare situations. If you compare it to Demonfire you will see that it is a lot worse because you don’t have the option to deal 2 damage and on top of that you give your opponent a mana crystal just for +1/1 worth of stats. You only would want to pick it if you have a very aggressive deck with lots of demons in it. But generally you will have better options than this.
Not much to say about this card. The effect will trigger in extremely rare situations so you can just see this as a 3/2 for 2 mana with a small upside. Also it has a small upside of being a demon so you can get synergies with Voidcaller and Demonwrath. Other than that an average 2 drop.
a 4/3 for 2 mana is really good as it has the stats of a 3 mana minion so of course it has to have a pretty significant downside. However in this case Wrathguard’s downside is pretty small because health doesn’t matter as much in arena as it does in constructed play. The downside only matters if you play Wrathguard late game. This is because if you play it early or mid game it won’t take much overkill damage as most minions will have 2-5 attack. Also if you are ahead on the board feel free to drop it because your opponent won’t be able to kill it with huge minions dealing face damage. Since it is better early game it’s recommended to pick Wrathguard if you have an aggressive deck.
Same case as Tiny Knight of Evil except it is even worse when the effect isn’t triggered. Because you will almost never discard it it is simply a Flamecannon which can also hit face and costs twice as much. Really a terrible card you should almost never pick it.
The effectiveness of this card heavily depends on what kind of deck you have. Obviously Dreadsteed gives you a ping every turn at cost of spending 4 mana and usually losing a lot of tempo. Works best in Control or Attrition decks and is pretty bad in aggressive decks due to big loss of tempo. Definitely does wonders in the right decks.
Spending 6 mana and 4 cards to kill 2 minions isn’t efficient in terms of both tempo and card advantage. Of course if you play it when having 1 or 0 other cards in hands it is pretty strong but that will rarely happen. You will usually get better cards than this to pick.
Terrible stats, terrible ability. Effect is mirrored and random which makes it very bad. On top of that you get 4 mana worth of stats for 6 mana. Not much to say other than don’t pick it.
Boulderfist Ogre, which is a good card, with +1 health for 1 more mana. Not much to say other than average stats and their distribution is good. A good pick up if you have a Control or Attrition deck or you just need few big drops. As an added bonus it is a demon and can be called out by Voidcaller.
