Netmarble Games held a 1st NTP(Netmarble Together with Press) on August 15th and announced the future plan of long-awaited title Project S which is a mobile MMORPG adapted from classical PC IP Lineage II. Netmarble Games will partner with NCsoft to bring Lineage II to mobile devices globally in 2016.

As the mobile version of Lineage II, Project S features the similar background world, games modes and combat system with PC version. Of course there will be a few changes to it, especially when it comes to the controls since this will be on mobile devices. Back to 2014, NCsoft released a Lineage based mobile game in Korea. Players can kill the monsters to get points in the mobile version and then use points to exchange for EXP in the PC version, and this feature will be most likely to be added to the upcoming Project S.

After picked up by Drago Entertainment, Unreal Engine 3 MMORPG Otherland had several closed beta tests. Now the game is ready to come to Steam, starting with early access later this month. The game will be available on Steam on August 26 for players who want to play the game earlier.

The early access period is planned to last 6 months, according to Drago, and there will be new content coming before final launch, including new worlds with hundreds of new quests, new enemies and new items. “We are currently working on several game features that are almost done, but not yet implemented, such as Clan Land, Clan Wars and additional Battlegrounds,” the developer says.

The game will be free to play on Steam, and it will have item shop. There will be optional DLCs like many games release on Steam.

We will offer DLC that includes new content but is optional to buy. No Pay2Win!

Otherland is a visually unique MMORPG mixes sci-fi with fantasy. The game has a craft system that allows you to extract defeated opponent’s eDNA to gain unique recipes for items - or even NPCs themselves (every item and NPC in Otherland is made out of electronic DNA). Taking advantage of non-targetting system, the combat is action-based and requires you to use skills and items wisely. There are player housing, clan wars, and more.

Diablo III New Expansion? Blizzcon 2015 Media Invitation Revealed

$

Famous Diablo site Diabloii.net revealed a Blizzcon 2015 media invite which they just got from Blizzard. There is a title image for the mail, with a selection of characters from various Blizzard titles. It seems skewed towards Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone, but there are a lack of Diablo figures from the actual game of Diablo. (D3 female Crusader has much shorter hair and not the emo makeup)

Additionally, Blizzard also lists what media attendees might see at this year's show. It says: "Venture into Sanctuary for the latest happenings in Diablo III". What do you guys think? It's safe to assume that it will be the Diablo III new expansion. Coincidentally, Blizzard is hiring for Art Director for an unannounced project. What's interesting is this job is under the Diablo category.

Review of All The Grand Tournament Class Legendary Cards

$
0
0

The coolest cards in Hearthstone are often the legendary minions made available to each class. They're usually the most powerful and recognizable cards in the game. Everyone runs in fear when Grommash Hellscream hits the board, and they cower in awe when Tirion Fordring comes out to play. The Grand Tournament is giving each class another legendary card, and they're undoubtedly some of the most unbelievable and overpowered cards we've seen in the game so far.

Just keep reading for an in-depth look at each new class legendary, and be prepared to see some unbelievable cards along the way. We'll start with a card that could quickly become the best card in the entire game if it comes anywhere close to its potential.
_________________________________________________________________________

Warrior - Varian Wyrnn

Varian Wrynn in the King of Stormwind in World of Warcraft, making him the de-facto leader of the Alliance. That's a big role in the lore, and this card lives up to those lofty qualifications. Varian Wrynn's battlecry effect is probably the most powerful battlecry in the entire game. Card draw is a huge advantage in late-game decks that would be playing a 10-mana minion, so that alone is a huge deal. If this card only drew cards, it would still be played. But that's not all it does! It also immediately puts any minions drawn onto the board. That's card advantage and tempo advantage all bundled into one effect. That effect might be played if it was a 10-mana spell, but you're also getting a huge 7/7 body along with it.

This card will give Control Warrior decks an insane tempo advantage and potentially win games all on its own if it hits some big minions. Even if you lose valuable battlecry effects from drawn minions, it's still going to be worth it for the free bodies. You could also design all-new Warrior decks that include big minions with delayed or end-of-turn effects that wouldn't lose any value from being summoned instead of played. Varian Wrynn will most definitely find his way into tons of different Warrior deck lists, and might just be an instant-win any time he's played.

_________________________________________________________________________

Priest - Confessor Paletress

Confessor Paletress is another insanely-powerful legendary being introduced with The Grand Tournament. As a straight 7-drop, she won't be very good. She's too easy to kill and her card effect value is delayed. That means she'll be a turn-9 or later play that has to be bundled with a hero power. Then you'll be getting a 5/4 body, a heal for 2 health, and a random legendary minion. That's a pretty good turn most of the time. There will be instances that you get Bloodmage Thalnos and feel ripped off, but you'll get Kel'Thuzad in other instances and win games off of a single play. If Confessor Paletress stays on the board for more than one turn, she'll be producing absurd amounts of value that doesn't require use of a card from your deck. Paying 2 mana for a random legendary is a wonderful deal, and that means opponents will have to drop everything to kill this card quickly. Her low health total makes that relatively easy, but if she had something like 6 or 7 health, this card would be far too powerful.

_________________________________________________________________________

Hunter - Dreadscale & Acidmaw

In an unusual move, Blizzard actually gave Hunters two new legendary minions with The Grand Tournament expansion, and that's probably because they come as a bundle in World of Warcraft. The cards were clearly designed with one another in mind, but they still seem to be lacking in utility and power. Dreadscale is like a miniature Baron Geddon that continually damages other minions. That's not especially useful to most Hunter decks these days. But you can see how powerful that effect becomes in conjunction with Acidmaw, which instantly destroys any minion which takes damage. Hunters can essentially clear an entire board anytime both these minions are in play.

As cool as that effect is, it's attached to a pair of minions which have very unfortunate stats and weak bodies. It also takes 10 mana to get this combo off successfully, whether over a single turn or multiple turns. That's a lot of work and requires a very specific series of events to ever be good. I can appreciate the creative design behind these cards, but I have trouble seeing them work in a real game scenario, especially with current popular Hunter archetypes.

_________________________________________________________________________

Warlock - Wilfred Fizzlebang

When Wilfred Fizzlebang was first revealed, it seemed like an incredibly strong card. Then as other class legendary cards were revealed, it started to feel like Wilfred's card effect wasn't quite as good as many of the other new cards' effects. Although there is certainly some potential for this little gnome, it probably won't be a game-changing card like his companions. The main problem with Wilfred Fizzlebang is that it will be difficult to get continued value from his effect, and the average value is lower than with a similar card like Confessor Paletress. There will be amazing instances where you play this on turn 8, tap for a card, and then get a free Mal'Ganis to play alongside it. There will be other occasions where you end up with a Mortal Coil and wasted a 6-drop on a 4/4 body that's instantly removed by the opponent. Lower-cost minions and spells will make up a disappointing 50% of the cards you draw. Confessor Paletress, on the other hand, will be summoning legendary cards that are going to be really good 90% of the time. Wilfred Fizzlebang gets better with Inspire or hero power effects, so decks built around that mechanic will probably be where he finds a home.

_________________________________________________________________________

Shaman - The Mistcaller

The Mistcaller is the best buffing card in the entire game, and it's not even close. If you get this card out on turn 6 and the game runs long, you're going to be extracting ridiculous amounts of value from its effect. Keep in mind that the absurd effect is attached to a weak 4/4 body, and it takes a long time for you to come out ahead, so this card does have limitations despite how amazing it seems at first glance. In Shaman decks designed for long-game control battles, The Mistcaller is going to be very good. In midrange or aggressive decks that rely on tempo and board advantage, this card will be way too slow.

_________________________________________________________________________

Druid - Aviana

Aviana is yet another new card that's all about getting cheap minions onto the board in late-game situations. It seems Blizzard is designing these legendaries to support control archetypes and less aggressive decks. The great thing about Aviana is that she gives you full control with her effect, unlike Varian Wrynn or Confessor Paletress. You can choose which of your huge minions you'd like to play for one mana, making her a more strategic and reliable card. When you're able to combine her with Innervate or a Coin, you can do even crazier things and choose a handful of minions to dump onto the board next to her. This will give Ramp Druid decks a huge late-game weapon and another way to make a huge tempo swing turn to finish off long games.

_________________________________________________________________________

Rogue - Anub'arak

In every group of cards there has to be a dud, and unfortunately for Rogues, that dud is Anub'arak. Even though it has a really interesting effect that seems like it could generate a ton of value, there are too many limitations in its design to make it viable. First off is its weak health total, which means it dies to many 3-drops and practically all 4-drops or higher. The 4/4 Nerubian is a nice bonus when it's killed, as is the card advantage when it comes back to your hand. The problem for Anub'arak is that every time you want to play him again, he locks down a turn due to his 9-mana cost, and he's not doing that much. So yes there's potentially infinite value, but it's slow and your opponent will start winning the game while you're trying to extract that value. Anub'arak will probably only work in specific deck archetypes designed to mill an opponent's cards.

_________________________________________________________________________

Paladin - Eadric the Pure

Eadric the Pure has the most unique design of all the new class legendaries. His effect is all about impacting the board right now, not about generating future value. It's certainly a powerful ability, and it can absolutely ruin decks like Handlock or Ramp Druid that focus on putting a lot of big minions onto the board at once. It will be less good against aggressive decks that care more about the number of minions than the individual attack of any given minion. That puts Eadric the Pure in a weird spot. He's a better answer to control decks than aggro ones, and Paladins are already good at countering control archetypes, so he may have trouble carving out space. His 3/7 body is also somewhat awkward because of the low attack. If he either had taunt, or had 5 attack, it seems like Eadric the Pure would be considerably more viable than he is in this state. It's still a good card that can do amazing things. It's just going to be difficult to find the moments where Eadric the Pure really shines.
_________________________________________________________________________

Mage - Rhonin

Rhonin feels like a very good card that's still well-balanced. It's a nice big minion for Mages (who typically lack late-game minions), and it has an effect that synergizes with most Mage decks very nicely. Cheap spells are great tools in most popular Mage decks. The problem is that they take up valuable card slots, and you have to make tough decisions regarding their use because you want to save them for combo turns later on in the game. Rhonin fixes both those problems by giving you three extra Arcane Missiles cards for free, and giving them to you in the late-game when you can use them to combo off Archmage Antonidas without regret. This card is just good enough to carve out a spot in popular decks, but not so overpowered that it will change the game in its favor.

All of these new minions are going to impact the meta game in fun ways, and I expect most of them to find homes in the most dominant decks out there. It's definitely going to be exciting to see these cards in action once The Grand Tournament is finally released!

Analyzing Team Secret shuffle options as mid laners

$

0

The shuffle is approaching and due to the deadline imposed by Valve’s Majors most of the changes will happen in the coming weeks. Team Secret has not achieved the desired results during The International 5 and most likely many players will move in different directions. In various interviews, Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg has stated that he would take a break for about 8 months to focus on his education, but after he will be back to Dota. It is also rumoured that Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi would like to form an all-German team while Artour "Arteezy" Babaev is confirmed leaving Secret for Evil Geniuses.

Today I’m not going to speculate about every player or if the team itself will continue to exist or not, but I will focus my attention at one position for which we have the most concrete idea who the candidates to replace a leaving player will be, the mid lane. There are rumours about three players. The current mid laner Gustav "s4" Magnusson will most likely change team and maybe will head back to Alliance. Clement "Puppey" Ivanov is rumoured to want to play with Danil "Dendi" Ishutin and if so he would move under the Secret’s banner. KuroKy always wanted Adrian "FATA" Trinks as mid since the team was created, they are friends and respect each other skills.

Today Theeban "1437" Siva said on stream that Puppey and KuroKy are probably splitting up (still nothing official from Team Secret), zai could be back from school in time for the next TI and that s4 has still not decided about his future. But I’m still going to compare the rumoured mid laners for the team that will be remade.

average gold stats.png

Dendi, FATA and s4 are all veteran players that share a similar play style but we can find out small differences between each other and the statistics from TI5 will help to analyse their current situation.

They aren’t players that focus on their own farm but their game is more ganking oriented. In fact Dendi has on average 456 GPM and 239 LH, s4 475 and 197, FATA 489 and 273. s4 is the player that obtained less gold on average but he is also the only one that bought a Hand of Midas, in three different games and at 17 minutes on average - quite late as the average buy time in this patch is 12.2, while during TI5 it was 15.4.

FATA obtained more gold from creeps and less from kills and assists while at the opposite s4 is the player that earned less gold from creeps, jungle and Ancients. Dendi instead is midway between them, being able to farm creeps decently and still getting gold from ganks, but he seems to ignore towers compared to the others. He also exploited his jungle the most, maybe thanks to the supports’ help. s4 and Dendi gold from Assists also show that they are more active than Fata as gankers.

different heroes.png

S4 and Dendi mostly choose to help their lanes with multiple ganks during the early and mid game, often ignoring their own items and farm, while Fata is more a mid game focused teamfighter that prefers to move together with the team.

The help that they receive from their supports is also an important point into their gameplay. Dendi is the player that tends to receive more help from his team and in this way he is also able to secure most of the runes. On average he has 7.7 runes per game, Fata 6.7 and s4 6.2. Between them s4 is the most sacrificial midder because most of the time he is on his own without a lot of help from the supports. Personally I rate FATA has a great mid laner in the West and surely he is the most balanced between them. He is somewhere in the middle between ganks to help others and help received for himself. By different patches the mid role mostly evolved into a second carry and FATA is able to farm more than the other two, thus translating in a real carry in mid-late.

There is another point to consider, s4 is also a drafter, and probably one of the best ones in Europe. When discussing their possible contribution to the team we also have to consider this. Without s4 the draft task will probably fall in the hands of Puppey. Now, someone could argue that during TI5 he has not done wonders with this job, but we don’t know how Secret’s drafting process worked at TI5 and if there were changes that caused them to stagnate. We all know that personal skills have almost 0 value if the team’s members don’t trust each other and maybe he wasn’t able to draft completely “free” and was subjected to pressures.

Considering everything is really hard to tell who would be the best pick for the team, especially because we don’t know the other team members as of now.

Arteezy reveals internal difficulties in Team Secret

$
0
0

It is no surprise that Team Secret had internal difficulties over the course of The International, as I'm sure they were the most dissapointed to be knocked out of the Lower Bracket by Virtus.Pro.

Watching the drafts and the games, it looked like something was not quite right. As the drafter for TI5 Gustav 's4' Magnusson is one of the best in Europe, so what is surprising is that the team seemed to have so much difficulty in their hero line-ups. Amongst others, first picking Shadow Fiend and Queen of Pain seemed an odd, and perhaps scared, type of drafting.

In game aside, Arteezy has recently talked on stream about some of the problems the team faced throughout the tournament and particularly in the booth. We can see from the player cams on Twitch that things were not exactly harmonious between games in the Secret camp:

Watch live video from dota2ti_pod_1 on Twitch

The insights that Arteezy gave on stream (the VOD can be watched here) reveal tensions between himself and other members of the team (credit to u/Clasp for the transcript):

"Everyone had fucking egos. Some of us could not communicate the way we were suppose to communicate. Some of us had a strong distaste for another. I for one knew we were not going to win TI when we entered TI because ... yeah. That's all."

"It was actually a shit show."

[9:22 PST]

"Feels good to be back where I truly belong."

"Real Talk is a losing situation regardless. Everyone's emotional. Maybe another time."

"New roster of EG? Just the same roster as TI5 except me replacing AUI and Fear is playing support."

[9:28 PST]

"Think I learned a lot in my year -- eight months in secret and I hope some positive optimistic shit will happen you dig? I'm sure everything will work out well."

"The problems we had in EG were pretty stupid when I was on it."

"Puppey is one of the best players I've ever played with. My opinion of him did not change negatively at all. Honestly the best player I've ever played with. He's of the Dota 1 veterans that's actually legit and keeps trying to be the best he can."

It seems that the current Team Secret did not gel at all well in the latter stages of TI5 even though they had won 4 LANs in a row coming into it. Team Secret have released a statement confirming that zai will be taking time off DOTA 2 for school and Arteezy will be going back to Evil Geniuses.

Nothing has been announced about the new Secret roster, but they have promised news in the coming days.

One of the most beloved Dota 2 personalities, Andrew ‘Zyori’ Campbell has announced that he will be parting ways with Beyond The Summit studio by the end of the week. After working for BTS for a year and a half Zyori decided it was time for him to move on in his career. In his blog Zyori states that he had a great time working for BTS and that he is very proud of the work he and the BTS team did over the past year.

He was a part of the team which started building the studio in early 2014. Since then BTS and Zyori worked a lot of different projects such as TI Qualifiers, Dota 2 Asian Championships, Starladder and The Summit. During his time at BTS he managed to establish himself as one of the best and most entertaining casters of Dota.

Zyori´s plans for the future are not yet announced, but he states that they will definitely involve Dota 2 and eSports. A personality like Zyori will surely have no problems in achieving his future goals and we are looking forward to see what he will come up with in the future.
