Number of World of Warcraft subscribers is down from 7.1 million to 5.6million at end of the second quarter, Blizzard announced during a quarterly financial statement yesterday. Blizzard is already announcing a new expansion at Gamescom 2015 when the latest update “Fury of Hellfire” just arrived on June 23. Blizzard president Mike Morhaime said that Fury of Hellfire “helped stabilize the subscriber number towards the end of the quarter. The company is focused on increasing the pace of content to help retain players, and also that he believes next year's World of Warcraft movie may help bring in new players.
