PearlAbyss and Daum just released a large update introducing the 2nd region of Valencia, aka the desert region for Black Desert Online (Korean version). Valencia is expected to bring players a different experience. A 5-min trailer has been revealed to show off the huge new area, including the new towns, four new open world dungeons, and more. In addition, the previous announced free PK system with bounty hunting and jail system, which are exclusive in the Valencia region will also be implemented in this update.
Players can do free PK in Valencia without worrying the NPC guards. Criminal players with low karma get less punishment in terms of gear and karma penalties in this region than in other regions. However, a new punishment is implemented - jail system. Upon death, criminal players will be sent to jail for a period of time that's determined by how many people he/she has killed. An interesting feature is that you can do some labor work in jail such as mining to reduce jail time, and you can even try to break out and escape the jail. Reminds you of ArcheAge?
