Last week, Blizzard teased big Hearthstone news would be announced at the Americas Winter Championship. Today several Hearthstone communities received the letter from Blizzard confirming: the highly-anticipated Hearthstone expansion will be revealed on March 11, 2016.
Although Blizzard hasn’t unveiled any detail about expansion content, it never loses fun to play the guessing game. Thanks to some sleuthing by Youtuber Disguised Toast and the denizens of the Hearthstone subreddit. According to their collective deduction, it looks very likely that the expansion is going to be called Whispers of the Old Gods.
Prior to the release of each new set, Blizzard has been known to update the highlighted cards on the front page. With Blackrock Mountain, minions from that location in World of Warcraft were included. Now the new five cards are Mind Blast, Void Terror, Dark Wispers, Cult Master, and Faceless Manipulator. Therefore we have reasons to believe that the new update is the previously leaked Whispers of Old Gods by Italian website Powned it.
