With the Pokemon Go fever that has got gamers across the world in its thrall, it was only a matter of time before someone took the game’s AR features and evolved them. And Capitola VR has created a concept video using the HoloLens development kit to show what Pokemon Go could look like.
David Robustelli, the head of digital for Capitola VR, posted this video on Twitter. Using one of the device's built in gestures, the "pinch," the wearer can throw a Poke Ball at whatever virtual pokemon is wandering nearby. Even cooler, the ball will come back to the user after the Pokemon is caught.
According to Polygon, however, development of PokemonGo HoloLens edition won't go much further than this demo, since recreating the interface has apparently proved challenging. Also, a spokesman from CapitolaVR told UploadVR that the company doesn't currently have any plants to work with Niantic Labs on a HoloLens version at this point.
