Fnatic won BTS SEA defeating First Departure 3-0

The battle of the best DOTA team in SEA came to an end after a very convincing win from Fnatic over First Departure.Without a doubt Fnatic have showed excellent performance being undefeated throughout the whole tournament.

They faced First Departure on a best of 5 series. Where they showcased how dominant they are in the whole series, with great warding, rotations and positioning. That made a huge difference on their games.

Game 1

A great performance for the whole team. They took advantage of the enemy's over extension on teamfights. A stellar peformance coming from the supports we saw quintuple stack that really boost Mushi's farm. Dj owned the 1st map with those perfect position on ganks and over extension.

Game 2

Even after we saw Meracle's Huskar mid, Fnatic came prepared on how to shutdown the hero, and it was very effective and dominated the whole game.

Game 3

A very exciting match yet still Fnatic came to grab the win. We saw Net's signature Bounty Hunter on top of Dj's Earthshaker which stood out and really gave space for the other cores. First Departure snowballed early on that gave a slight lead. Then Fnatic came back with great teamfights that gave them the upper hand. It was a close and interesting match however.

Congratulations Fnatic on the win grabbing $5,000. What a convincing performance from this team. Question is how far would they go facing Tier 1/2 teams? I'm truly excited to find out

Big shoutout to First Departure with a very commendable run on this tournament and we hope to see more great DOTA from this Singaporean team. Still grabbed $3,000.

Nanyang Championships NA qualifier: Cloud9 vs. Pain/Union vs. FireDota

The next set of matches for the Nanyang Championships North American Qualifiers will happen today. We are now through to the latter stages of the upper bracket where Cloud9 will play Pain Gaming. The format is double elimination, which gives the losers of the upper bracket matches a chance for redemption. In the lower bracket today we have Union Gaming playing FireDota.

Cloud9 are sporting their brand new roster after the changes that happened across the DotA 2 scene throughout August and ealry September. Led by former Team Secret coach, Theeban '1437' Siva, they have had a good run so far through these qualifiers, taking a clean 2-0 sweep in the previous round. Their opponents today, Pain Gaming, managed to similarly knock FireDota down into the lower bracket with a 2-0 victory.

All the upper bracket matches are best of 3, while the lower bracket matches are best of 1 until the the 3rd round where they will become best of 3 too. That means that we have a best of 1 knockout series today, as Union take on FireDota. Perhaps unexpectedly, the South American squad seemed to handle the American team with relative ease. With a few staple names of the NA DotA scene in their midst, Fire will be fighting for their lives now.

The bracket is taken from the Nanyang Championship website where full information on the tournament can be found. The NA qualifiers will determine the one representative from the region at the LAN finals in Singapore later this year. The total prize pool for the event will be over $200,000.

The The English language coverage will be done by Beyond the Summit, with the lower bracket match being broadcast first.

Hearthstone is becoming tougher for new players with every new expansion. There are more cards than ever to collect, and trying to assemble the right pieces to a powerful deck can be an overwhelming task. If that sounds familiar to you, this deck guide is here to help. It's an extremely affordable, yet still competitive Mech Mage that will have you winning and grinning in short order.

In the video below, I break down the general strategy of this list and go into detail for every single card in the deck. You should have a solid understanding of what this deck is designed to do, how to play it, and even which cards you can add to it in the future as your collection grows.

Full-budget Mech Mage decks are a force to be reckoned with on the ladder, and despite this one having a few cheap alternatives, it's still plenty powerful for climbing up to Rank 10 and beyond.

Deck Guide - *TGT* Budget Totem Shaman by RegisKillbin

It's been a long time since Shaman has been a viable class on the ranked ladder, but The Grand Tournament expansion added a handful of new cards that made the class more powerful than ever. And the best part of all is that those new cards are actually affordable to craft with arcane dust! That means budget Shaman decks are incredibly strong, and this list will prove it.

In the video below you'll learn the deck's overall strategy for victory, tips on the mulligan, detailed discussion for every single card, and a few suggestions for upgrades as your collection grows.

Budget decks really don't get any better than this, and for a surprisingly cheap 600 arcane dust, you can actually compete with the big boys. This deck has hardly any sub-optimal card choices, and a few top-tier cards that would be played in a deck of any socio-economic standing.

StarGem Inc. and Gaijin Entertainment’s free-to-play MMO action game, Star Conflict, today receives an mercenary-focused update: 1.2 ‘Dogs of War’. This new update brings several major features, particularly concentrating on non-corporation players and improving their game experience.

Update 1.2 finally lets mercenaries - non-corporate Star Conflict players - join Dreadnought battles for control over sectors directly, entering a queue system and skipping the previous need to ‘call for help’ from a corporation. Following conflicts, a post battle report will reward players based on their contribution to the battle. Another addition for mercenaries are new customizable spacecraft with offensive and defensive capabilities depending on player play style, 6 variants are available. Lastly, a new Defense Contract mode tasks mercenaries with defending peace loving locations in outer space from errant pirates while corporations engage in deep interstellar battles with their alien foe.

“The ‘Dogs of War’ update offers a lot of new content and game additions tailored to our mercenary players,” said Stanislav Scorb, CEO of StarGem Inc. “Previously, certain aspects of the game were only accessible to corporation members, including the Dreadnought battles, which are very popular. We want everyone to enjoy the Star Conflict experience, and ‘Dogs of War’ allows that”.

Two new locations introduced in the update include Monolith Ruins, a city that was previously the main shrine of the Jericho faction provides players with a variety of cunning tactics to employ including ambushes or life or death chases through the narrow streets. Sanctuary, located in the orbit of the heavily conflicted planet Tar where the first evidence of Precursors, the legendary race, were found and which is now filled with pirates and all manner of players,  a place of endless strife and battle. Star Conflict’s “Dogs of War” update will also introduce a new boss, known as the Destroyer, a lone being hellbent on destroying all missile defense systems, which small teams of players will need to bring down providing they can work together.

Earth Online Producer Says the Game Is Bigger Than GTA and It's Not a Fraud

In case you don't know what Earth Online is, the game is a sandbox MMO currently in development in a Chinese studio called Kupai. The game's ambition is to have GTA's vehicle and combat system, a nation system that people can become senators and start a war against other nations, a economy system that applies the rules of real world economy, a marriage system, a construction system and much more (read here for more details), with about $600,000 starting budget (the game is doing fundraising in China).

Da Xiong - the game's producer

The game was removed from Steam Greenlight last month due to accusation of infringement. Gaming community in China and the west suspected that the project is a fraud. However, the game's producer Da Xiong recently stepped out and claimed the game was not a fraud in an interview with Chinese game site gamersky.com. He stressed Earth Online was bigger than GTA: San Andreas.

Kupai Studios

Originally Da Xiong was a modder in the GTA community. He loved GTA series and the idea of Earth Online did come from it, he admitted. The release of Unreal Engine 4 encouraged him to bring the idea to reality. "Without Unreal Engine 4 this project won't be possible," he said.

Work-in-progress screenshot

The internet doubted the viability of such project. How can a small company with small budget create a sandbox game and make it playable? Da Xiong said the biggest challenge is not coding but tons of modeling. He planned to start open beta for the game before the end of 2016, with an update released every 3 weeks. "I am confident of our programmers in the team," he said. "Without Unreal Engine 4, we won't have the nerve to develop the game."

He welcomed gamers and media to visit his studio to fight back people who called the project a fraud. Besides, he promised to update development progress every week. What do you think of it?

Top 6 Korean MMORPGs Never Released in The West

$

It has been years ever since the first MMORPG announced. Every year countless MMORPGs comes out. However, not all MMORPGs could meet the public successfully in the end. Many of them aborted in development phase or died from bad publishing. Today, I would love to look back at those transitory MMORPGs.

A3 & A4

Known as adult MMORPG, A3 attracted a lot of attention from players. We can not forget those overspread sexy posters. However, when the game finally came out, you will find it a fraud. Additionally, the publisher made some mistake so as to lose a great number of users. A3 only companied users for only one year.

There is still a sequel to A3. Ani-park, the developer of A3, announced their plan for using Unreal 3 engine to develop A4. In 2011, A4 has ever announced that it would enter closed beta test within 2011, but there is no further news about it. It is estimated that A4 aborted as well.
The cause for A4 abortion seems to be the abuse of adult subject. Nowadays users are cleverer. They know that the posters are not believable.

Mabinogi 2

DevCat Studio, the famous team behind Mabinogi and Vindictus, announced the development of Mabinogi 2 in 2009. This news encourages a lot of Mabinogi users.

In the late 2012, NEXON joined hands with NCsoft to develop Mabinogi 2. The cooperation of the 2 top Korean developer injected the long-waited players a cardiotonic. But, when the gameplay video was unveiled, players felt disappointed. They can not find any Mabinogi elements in that game. It is much more appropriate to call it Vindictus 2. Mabinogi 2 faced a difficult situation that Vindictus did not need a substitute and it did not have any Mabinogi elements.

In 2014, NEXON announced that they would cease the Mabinogi 2 development. All team members will go to other programs.

Dragon Ball Online

Dragon Ball Online is a comic-book-franchise MMORPG. It has been well-acclaimed by many comic book fans ever since it is first announced. There are more than 300 thousand testers in the first closed beta test. During that period, it stayed the top of the anticipated MMOPRG ranking board for several weeks.

However, Dragon Ball is only a very good IP, but it is hard to design as a game. The previous titles that based on Dragon Ball are fighting games. The MMORPG version has nothing different with other current MMORPGs. The Korean version ceased service after it was published for 3 years.

Project HON

Unveiled in the late 2014, Project HON is the first mechanic shooting game from NCsoft. NCsoft treated it as important as Lineage Eternal. It will be NCsoft's next masterpiece after Blade & Soul.

It is known that NCsoft is veteran at MMORPG and has a lot of famous titles including Lineage, Lineage Eternal and Blade & Soul, but Project HON is a FPS. It is very hard to make innovation in FPS. So, NCsoft canceled this game's development just half a year after it is announced. The reason for cancel is that the game subject and achievement degree could not match the market.

Rockman Online

Rock Man is a classical IP from CAPCOM. The online verion is developed by Korea-based Neowiz. In 2010, Neowiz Games announced the development of Rock Man Online. However, it is difficult to develop a side-scrolling game to an online version. So far, the only successful example of side-scrolling game is DNF. In 2013, Rock Man Online was cancelled due to the low development efficiency and poor communication between Japanese team and Korean team.

Ghouls'n Ghosts online

Early in 2003, CAPCOM announced to develop Ghouls'n Ghosts online. However, this game officially went on line in 2013, 10 years after it is announced.

Actually, Ghouls'n Ghosts PC version is famous, but it is hard to master so as to few faithful players. There is not much sequel to it in recent years. In addition, Ghouls'n Ghosts online's control is as hard as PC version and is lack of new idea in skills and gameplay. This game stopped service in 2015 in Korea.

8 Innovative MOBA Games You Should Have a Try

$

0

When speaking of MOBA games, I know League of Legend and Dota2 will first pop up in your mind. Indeed, as the report indicates, the two games already dominate the MOBA genre and will hold two-third of the MOBA market through 2016. Still, with the prevalent of MOBA games and the revolution of the eSport scene, more and more game companies started to set food in, such as Blizzard, EA, Crytek etc.

In order to take a share of the spoils, many companies tried to make innovations based on the basic MOBA game concepts. Here, we found an interesting phenomenon: shooter MOBA seems to be a trend that many developers would pay attention to by coincidence, for example, Overwatch, Gigantic Battleborn etc.

Supernova: RTS + MOBA
Status: closed beta (July 24, 2015)

Supernova is a free-to-play RTS inspired MOBA developed by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment. It brings innovation through its exciting sci-fi universe that offers upgradeable minions, crafting from drops, the mysterious Supremacy ability and an unparalleled line-up of commanders.

The maps in Supernova are same as LoL and Dota2 – the typical 3 lanes map but unlike them, killing enemies won’t reward players with golds so that is not that important as in other similar games. Players have to collect resources to upgrade or buy skills. Besides, the exp gained in the game can be used to upgrade commander attributes and skills.

Supernova is currently in closed beta and will be available for PC later this year.

Hyper Universe: Side-scrolling + MOBA
Status: 1st closed beta (September 9 - 13)

Hyper Universe, debuted at G-star 2014, is a new side-scrolling MOBA developed by CWAVESoft and published by NEXON. The game is currently in 1st closed beta from September 9th to September 13th. The biggest selling point of Hyper Universe is players can play as one of the characters from various pop culture, including Bruce Lee, Kid Icarus, Transformers, Power Rangers etc.

The map setting is very interesting in Hyper Universe, which are consisted of seven different tiers, with both PVE and PVP action. Both teams spawn on left and right side in the middle tier with towers protected. The other three tiers above and below the middle one are full of neutral mobs with the top tier houses the PVE stage boss (much like Roshan in Dota2). Six roles are available to choose: Striker, Technician, Stalker, Bruiser, Tanker, and Supporter.

Gigantic: FPS + MOBA
Status: closed beta (August 28, 2015)

Gigantic, the free-to-play shooter MOBA, has started closed beta on August 28 on both PC (you have to upgrade to Windows 10 in order to play) and Xbox One. The game is developed by Motiga, leading by James Phinney who was also the lead designer for StarCraft.

In Gigantic, players battle alongside a massive guardian in a fight for supremacy. It also tests teamwork, tactics, and timing as players confront a five-story foe and conquer a fantasy battlefield.

Whether players favor shooters, action RPGs, or traditional MOBAs, "Gigantic" has heroes for various playstyles-and strategic depth they'll find satisfying. The third-person perspective puts the emphasis on movement and action. Players leap, dodge, and sprint across the battlefield, then unleash a devastating combo... before scurrying to cover as the enemy guardian draws near.

Wildfire: Action + MOBA
Status: closed beta (November 13, 2015)

Wildfire is an action MOBA developed by China-based NetEase, trying to create a new type of MOBA different than others in the market. The game sets in the end of the world and uses 3D camera view instead of a fixed 2.5D view angle that found in most MOBAs. There are melee heroes, humanoid machines, ranged heroes with guns, and those who cast spells, etc. - you can expect a steampunk vs. fantasy battle.

Thanks to Havok's technology, Wildfire introduces in Quick Time Combat system, allowing players adapt combos based on the situation of the fight in real time. Quick Time Combat (QTC) shares similar concept with QTE, which needs players to respond to the combat situation according to self condition as well as opponent's actions. The implement of non-targeting and ragdoll physics make combat in Wildfire more fast and realistic.

In most MOBAs you fight the enemies on the ground but in Wildfire, you can expect three-dimensional fight that stretches from the ground to the mid-air. You can even climb on the wall and attack your opponent from above.

Wildfire features 3v3 and 5v5 modes and the game is schedule to enter the next closed beta in China on November 13th and it will probably hit the western market in the near future.

Shards of War: Sci-fi + MOBA
Status: released on Oct 13, 2014

Shards of War is a so-called next-gen MOBA developed by Bigpoint. It blends in sci-fi setting with shooting element and is redeemed to be the evolution version of Merc Elite.

Like most of MOBAs, you will join into a team of 5 players, fight against your rivals and advance towards their base to destroy their headquarters in a 15 to 20-minute match. This time, the characters no longer use cold weapons, but technological weapons. However, unlike mainstream MOBAs, Shards of War utilized classical RPG's WASD controls which will let you seamlessly control your Sentinel (hero) with run and gun action.

Shards of War is all about team work. You fight together. You win together. In Shards of War every action accounts for you AND your friends. And this has a direct effect on your entire team.

Battleborn: FPS + MOBA
Status: beta application (global release on February 9, 2016)

Battleborn, presented at E3 2015, is a new MOBA developed Gearbox, the developer behind the famous Borderlands series. It is a console shooter with MOBA elements and shares some similar concept with Blizzard's Overwatch but it has co-op PvE experience that lacks in Blizzard's action shooter.

There's the 5-man co-op campaign while the competitive aspect is the core of the game. You can play different modes such as 5v5 in selected map, leveling up your hero to gain new abilities. No doubt that you can choose the ability that you think fits the battle situation and your play style. Like Overwatch, Battleborn features a very unique art style by mixing fantasy, sci-fi and cartoon element together.

Battleborn will be landed on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC globally on February 9, 2016.

Paladins: Champions of the Realm (FPS Shooter + MOBA)
Status: in development (beta application)

Hi-Rez Studio, the developer behind SMITE, officially announced its brand new MOBA Paladins: Champions of the Realm and offered the free trial demo at Gamescom for the first time.

Set in a colorful sci-fantasy world, Paladins features strategy combats with various unique champions. Two teams fight in the king of the hill-style to capture points and champion progression is employed in an interesting way by the deckbuilding card system, which augments champion's abilities in different ways. Besides, each champion has its own mount to explore the much bigger open world.

Overwatch: FPS + MOBA
Status: closed beta (fall, 2015)

At BlizzCon 2014, Blizzard unveiled a brand-new team based FPS game named Overwatch, which is their first new franchise in a decade. Overwatcg features an amazing cast of heroes and set in an all-new Blizzard game universe. You can play as soldiers, scientists, adventurers and oddities to fight with your enemies on a 6 vs 6 battleground.

Many players said the game is similar to TF2, but in fact, it is still a very different game. TF2 has a limited number of roles with some more customization through weapon choices. Overwatch also has some more mobility, with some heroes that can fly or use grapple hooks. Overwatch is more about hero’s abilities than it is about putting a crosshair over the other heroes. From a time-jumping adventurer, to an armored, rocket-hammer-wielding warrior, to a transcendent robot monk, players have master different heroes’ abilities and their play-style. Blizzard guaranteed that no two heroes are the same.

Rare (rarity) TGT Cards That You Should Craft

Many streamers and professional players have a proclivity for hyperbole whenever a new expansion is released. They all claim that “x” card is either going to amazing or suck, even before one hand of Hearthstone is played. It’s a harmless habit we all do to help build up the anticipation of a given event and who can blame them because the anticipation is usually the most fun part of the experience. So in this article, I’ve let the hype wear off and I’ve listed some of the most important Rare cards that everyone should craft; especially for those who are short on dust and want to get the most value from their hard earned work.

Competitive Spirit:
One of the best cards coalesced with the Mysterious Jouster. Along with Avenge, Competitive Spirt helps to precipitously buff your side of the board after a Mysterious Jouster Play. For 1-mana even playing this in coalition with a Muster Battle will pay big dividends, essentially giving you 3/3 worth of stats for only one picayune mana. Personally, I don’t even think this card needs to be played strictly in a Secret Paladin deck as it works well with Aggro, Token, and Midrange Paladin; helping bolster your minions on-board with its underrated effect.

Healing Wave:
I’m surprised not to see every Shaman running at least two of these. Most minion cards Shamans have are traditionally higher costed due to all the good early game removal the class has, so the chance of getting fourteen health points should be better than average. Fourteen health points for 3-mana is insane and worst case scenario it’s seven, which still makes this card better than the banally morose, Antique Healbot. Face Hunters should no longer be a problem if you’re running two of these in your deck as you should out heal the outburst of damage the Hunter can deal.

Darnassus Aspirant:
This is the best card Druids got out of TGT. It helped ameliorate Ramp and Combo Druid to a point where those archetypes are viably competitive on the ladder once again. At the very least, the opponent is going to waste valuable removal on a 2-mana card for fear of a snowball situation. The fact that this card is attached to a minion makes it all the sweeter, giving the Druids an additional tool to help fulfill the classes’ playstyle of getting bigger minions out, quicker than the opponent.

Fencing Coach:
If you’re going to try and build a deck around the Inspire mechanic the Fencing Coach should be an auto-include. This card has a lot of untapped potential with its ability to combo off the inspire mechanic and set up some really big plays. Yes, it’s a 2/2 for 3 but it essentially gives you an additional 2-mana for free and helps set up a huge tempo-swing on the subsequent turn. Plus, who doesn’t love a dancing master?

Ram Wrangler:
Unfortunately, Hunters took a big hit because of TGT and now find themselves as one of the weakest classes to play. Face Hunter losses to too many things and Control Hunter is a pipe dream. Midrange Hunter has been the only archetype that has been semi-playable and that’s unfortunate because the Hunter class has traditionally been a bastion of success for free-to-play players. The Ram Wrangler is one of the only few new TGT cards that’s even been seeing play, helping Kripprairan make his climb to legend for the first time.

Savage Combatant:
This is one of my personal favorites. Innervating this card out on turn-2 can be devastating for the opponent; effectually giving you complete board control for the early-midgame stages. It’s a Ramp Druid card if you’re going to use it, and many people will choose the Piloted Shredder over it for its stick-ability. If you want to be like everyone else pick the shredder; just know you are lily-livered coward, but if you want to be Hearthstone hipster like me, choose the Savage Combatant!

Thunder Bluff Valiant:
Even if you are not creating a “Totem Shaman,” the Thunder Bluff Valiant is a great choice for almost every Shaman archetype. The 3/6 body makes it very difficult to remove and its continuous effect sky rockets its value. It is a must-deal-with threat and for only 5-mana everyone should be running two of them.

Wyrmrest Agent:
Everyone has gone up against one of these on turn-1-2 and everyone has thought the same thing: “wtf am I supposed to do now?” A 2/4 with taunt for 2-mana is a huge wall to get through in the early game, and for most classes, they don’t have necessary tools to immediately deal with it. It’s a superb card and probably the best dragon card that actually isn’t a dragon. Even if this card is drawn latter in the game it’s O.K., helping set up bigger plays by protecting valuably weak minions like Azure Drake and the Blackwing Corruptor.
