Right after the pre-open beta, XL GAMES and 2K Games announced that its next generation strategy MMORPG Civilization Online will commence open beta in South Korea on December 2nd. Two new trailers have been released to promote the upcoming open beta with the one below showing off the large scale RvR warfare while the other one features 2KGAMES Sid Meier and XLGAMES Jake Song introducing the game.




Besides South Korea, the developer team are also planning on globalizing Civilization Online. Back in August this year, China-based 360 Games acquired the exclusive publishing right in mainland China and Game First is expected to export Civilization Online to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. No details yet announced for the English version, though.

Reddit user SafeguardKilly has posted a thread that listed the changes and censorships in Blade & Soul NA version, most of which were related to quests, stories, and dialogues. Some of these are just what localization is about but apparently some others are a little bit controversial. An example, according to the Reddit thread, is "story/NPC dialogue being altered to turn the player into a strict hero archetype with no moral failings or ambiguity. Villains are now stereotypical cartoon-tier evil."

Censorship Related

• The localization team is deleting posts on the forums which criticize their decisions instead of forwarding the posts to CM's/Moderators.
• Quests are being altered to remove content they find personally offensive or not "welcoming" enough.
• Story/NPC dialogue being altered to turn the player into a strict hero archetype with no moral failings or ambiguity. Villains are now stereotypical cartoon-tier evil.
• Lingerie removed and turned into cash shop item. Replaced with regular bra and panties, default poses also changed. Picture
• Surnames are being erased by mashing them together with given names (example: Bruce Wayne becomes Brucewayne, Do Chun becomes Dochun) I consider this kind of cultural erasure to be censorship and it's also retarded as fuck.

Localization Related

• Memes have been added and in many cases it turns a situation meant to be taken seriously into a comical one. (side note: what's with social justice types adding memes into everything they write, translate or localize?)
• Story being dumbed down. Removal of foreshadowing is resulting in a confusing/inferior experience.
• Game lore is being altered or changed outright because they feel it doesn't make sense.
• NPC personalities changed or randomly swapped around with other NPC's for no discernible reason.
• Titles are replacing names entirely in some cases.

Localization could sometimes turns into a double-edged sword. It helps to make a game's content less cultural offensive and easy to understand. It could also strip away the spirit of the original game when localization goes too far away. In Blade & Soul's case, do you like or dislike the changes NCsoft West has made?

Blizzard has just announced the Heroes of the Storm’s new battleground Towers of Doom is now playable in all regions. There are some interesting mechanisms in this battleground. Each Core is protected by a barrier that cannot be destroyed by Heroes. Instead, teams must clash to activate the Altars that rise within the town. Once an Altar is claimed, each of the capturing team's Bell Towers will fire on the opposing Core. 




To ensure that players have plenty of exposure of Towers of Doom. Blizzard restricts Quick Match, Ranked, and Versus A.I. to six specific battlegrounds.

• Tomb of the Spider Queen
• Dragon Shire
• Cursed Hollow

In addition, the Black Friday Sale also begins for all regions - all items in the Heroes shop will receive a 50% discount for a whole two weeks, including mecha Tassadar skin which hasn’t received discount before.

Bandai Namco has announced that a brand-new One Piece game called One Piece: Thousand Storm for iOS and Android devices in September. The game will be free to download and arrive in Japan in 2016. Bandai Namco released more details about the 3D characters, screenshots and gameplay yesterday. New elements such as battle system for three players and “scene card” are added. 

More classical characters from the comics are added. 



Each character in the game has various skills. In multi-player battles, the characters can move automatically and players need to trigger skills sometimes. And players can also interact freely with others.




Many famous scenes will appear as the gorgeous card. Only if players collect “scene card", the characters will level-up.

On November 20th, Vindictus-themed store opened in Pankyo, Korea. This store only opens for a limited time until December 31 and it sells Vindictus related goods, such as game items, bags, mugs and so on. Besides, NEXON also set up some stations allowing fans to play the game on high specs PC. Riot has just revealed a new League of Legends‘ Champion named Illaoi and her spotlight footage. During her first week of availability, Illaoi will be priced at 975 RP / 7800 IP, after which she will drop to the standard 6300 IP price point. Illaoi is a tank champion who is very good at using tentacle to attack her enemies.



Illaoi is a beast around stationary objectives, particularly when she has enough lead time to set up her tentacles. In the upcoming non-wipe closed beta test (Win a beta key here), Monster Hunter Online will implement a new system, Hunter Rank. Veteran MH players won't feel strange about this system which has been in previous MH games of different platforms. Hunter Rank simply tells how good a hunter is and it will work the same in Monster Hunter Online.
 

How to unlock Hunter Rank?
 
First of all you need to reach level 40, which is a milestone to become a skilled hunter. Upon reaching level 40 your character level will be replaced by Hunter Rank. Leveling up Hunter Rank not only tells others how many battles you've been through, it also allows you to access new quests.

Russia-based company Prelude Games Factory has launched a kickstarter campaign for its Gothic sandbox MMO. It looks for $100,000 of funding which will be used to cover expenses such as development, art source, backer rewards, fees and processing charges, and software license. A small part of the funding will be left as a reserve for unforeseen future expenses.

Trion Worlds' action MMORPG Devilian just announced the open beta and launch date. Guess some of you especially action fans are going to play the game. There are several things new players should or are curious of about the open beta and the game itself, including whether the game is pay2win.
 

 
1. Data will be wiped after open beta and before head start/final launch.
Beta servers are separate from the live servers so progress made in the OBT won't be carried to live server.
 
2. Credits spent during the open beta will be returned to players when the game launches
 
3. Skills can be reset anytime you want for free, so feel free to try as many options as possible for your character.
 
4. Unverified Trion accounts will face some restrictions, most of which are meant to counter spammers and botters.

• Megaphone disabled
• Whisper friends only
• Can't sell on Auction House, but can buy
• Can't start trades, but can accept
• Can't send mail, but can receive

5. The limited time EXP and gold gaining boost from Founder's Packs will count down even you are offline
 
6. Title offers stat bonus. These bonuses are cumulative, so the more titles you earn, the more stat bonuses you have.
 
7. The titles rewarded by purchasing Founder's Packs grant stats that only apply to PvE
Trion Worlds explains that the stats given by titles are supposed to give Founders some convenience. These stat bonuses don't apply to PvP and Devil Form. So it's not really P2W.
 
8. Cash shop clothes have stats and they can also be obtained in the game without spending a cent
Free players can obtain the clothes and armors sold in cash shop by spending much time playing the game. I won't call it pay-to-win.

The League of Explorers expansion has really started to reshape the meta. A handful of good cards are unlocking all kinds of new class archetypes, and even enabling a few decks that have been "almost-good" for a very long time. One such deck is Dragon Paladin, which Brann Bronzebeard has made stronger than ever before. 

In my Bearded Dragon Paladin deck, Brann Bronzebeard can do some absolutely crazy things, and makes Paladins better than ever at controlling the board behind walls of taunts and big dragons. Check out the video below to get the general strategy of the deck, basic mulligan tips, and live gameplay to help you with decision-making and gameplay paths. 



Now that you've see the beards in action, here's a convenient decklist to help you assemble it yourself.



I've really been enjoying Brann Bronzebeard and all the amazing things he can accomplish. Dropping four Boom Bots, getting a 12-health Twilight Drake, or healing for 16 is so much fun. The deck is pretty good for climbing the ladder too, so there's really no downside when it comes to the Bearded Dragon Paladin!

Former TF2 pro player Ruwin has recently posted his general feedback after getting hands on Overwatch beta test on the official forum, and Jeff Kaplan, the leader developer of Overwatch answered his questions. Let’s take a look.

Q: Stopwatch integration for payload maps
In order for this game to be balanced and played from the top-down, we will need to tools to play the game properly at the highest level. I'm sure this is on your radar.
Jeff: Yes. On our radar.

Q: Killfeed or Kill Notifications
Having to destroy my visibility in-game by pressing TAB to view dead players is not ideal. Nor is swinging my mouse around to count my teammate's skulls. The process of that information being fed to the player is not as seamless as it should be and it is rather distractive from the gameplay. When I press tab to view the enemy team's dead players, a grayed out portrait is not "at-a-glance" enough. Perhaps a skull over the portrait would suffice.
Jeff: This came up internally in our alpha and we’ve been discussing it since then. We’ll have a solution. We just haven’t entirely agreed on that solution internally yet.


Q: Rank or Displayed MMR
In CS:GO you have 18 ranks which can each be sought one after the next as a player looking to improve. Progression, continuity and goal driven gameplay are important in RPGs and it keeps the player coming back for more. This is something FPS's have traditionally lacked. Something as simple as a ladder(a la SC2?), ranks or win-loss will benefit player retention greatly.
Jeff: We’re very excited about a ranked play mode. If this feature does not make launch, it will be one that we focus on post-launch.

Q: HUD
Crosshair customization.
Jeff: We’re open to this. We’ll probably give some basic options.

Q: Hide viewmodel option.
Healthbar placement, opacity or hue. I find this is difficult to pick up in peripheral while in the most hectic moments.
Jeff: Not planned.

Q: Music
The music is wonderful, no doubt. But for those of us who have played hundreds or thousands of games, we'd love to have an option to opt out.
Jeff: We haven’t received too many complaints about this but we’ll keep an eye on it and make adjustments as needed.

With the release of the biggest update so far, Gloria Victis finally enters alpha phase. The patch v.0.5 introduces in significant changes including the total rework of the inventory, guilds, NPC shops and buffs systems, along with new features such as new locations and new NPC enemies.


 
"The most among all of the improvements is rework of the inventory and guilds system that fixed numerous issues and improved the user experience a lot," the dev team mentions.
 

Players can now expand their inventory and depot space by equipping additional sacks and bags, as well as manage their guilds easier with the guild announcements system. In the nearest future the guild system will be expanded with implementation of the in-game coats of arms editor, allowing the guild masters to create their own multi-layer emblems that will be visible on the flags and banners placed in locations captured by the guild and, in later stages of development, on the shields and tabards!

 
The game's performance is improved as well while many bug fixes for visuals and sounds and optimizations on network have been conducted. You can read details of the fixes and improvements at the official site.

Similar to previous expansion, the Tier 19 sets are divided into three types: Mythic, Heroic and Normal. The mythic sets' design is quite different with Heroic and Normal. Now only a few sets have been confirmed, and other preview images are just datamining contents nothing close to final. We will keep updating this article once new Tier 19 armor sets coming out.

No. 1 TaiShang Men and WanJin Tang

Analysis

There is no need to explain more about why the two life skills top the ranking. But, it is necessary to mention that TaiShang Men’s Bo Pae Plates are made by smelting, but not put it on. You could treat it as an additional attribution.
In addition, it seems that the Wanjin Tang’s gem are very valuable, but the attribution of gem are random, depending on your fortune.

No. 2 Talisman Temple and Medicinal Hall

Analysis

Players are able to obtain Bo-Pae Sculptor’s Unseal Talisman via quests, dungeon and even buying from store. The Revival Talisman can not obtain via purchase. Medicinal Hall’s recover talisman could get from killing monsters.
You still could get a little reward. When you come to the later stage in the game, if you want to make something, you will require Bo-Pae Sculptor’s Unseal Talisman and Medicinal Hall’s medicine. However, you could get reward from those players who have little time to play and have to explore the dungeons in the early stage.

 

No. 3 Blacksmith and Cooking

Analysis

Blacksmith must be the first choice for many online players. However, in Blade & Soul, weapons are forged and upgraded at Hong Men, so Blacksmith is a little awkward. According to some unconfirmed message, Blacksmith will play an important role from level 50. Blacksmith could earn a lot from the mending work at the later stage. As for Cooking, most of players will not buy products from Cooking. If they have money, they will probably buy evolution stone,gem, medicine and Unseal Talisman. Cooking become important at the later stage to make additional buff food.

Jagex Games Studio, makers of the multi-award winning fantasy MMORPG RuneScape, is calling on warriors, mages and thieves to build epic quests and take part in Chronicle: RuneScape Legendsclosed beta, which begins on PC today. Players can check out the following trailer and screens, or head here to sign up for the closed beta.



In Chronicle: RuneScape Legends, players can choose from four iconic ‘Legends’ of RuneScape and use their crafted decks of cards to create adventures across five engaging chapters set in the world of Gielinor. A rival player across the board forges their own quests, before the battle-hardened characters take part in a duel for victory. Each Legend has its own characteristics and playing style, deepening the strategies and tactics players can use to secure success. The Chronicle closed beta also includes a detailed crafting system, starting with over 270 cards available to collect and sort into battle-winning decks.
