Mobile Review - Mega Warriors (Beta)

Gameplay
You are the commander of a three-man Fighting Mech Warrior Squad. Your job is to strategically dismantle the enemy robots by evading their attacks while attacking them. Some evasion abilities include jumping, shields, or even cloaking technology. As the game progresses you're able to spend the money you earned in quests to add weapons or shielding to your mechs. The single player quest is basically a long tutorial on how to build the best 3 mech team, which is needed because this game has a strong multiplayer foundation.
The most important factor in combat is choosing when to defend or attack. When to use your abilities or when to just all out screen mash on your enemy. Building your mech squad is perfectly catered to your independent play style. Even when your enemy is a much higher level and has higher upgraded mechs, if you have the right strategy you can take down any opponent. The game map in the campaign is pretty straightforward, you choose a location and then attack (standard RPG map layout). The game does have some basic cinematics which try to put you in their universe, but the slew of drape colored non-moving images leave my imagination a little bored. If it weren't for the amazingly fun gameplay, I would have pushed this game to the side.

Value
When I go to the shop to upgrade my mech the first thing I was paying attention to was what were they going to give me first. Lo and behold, I got a pretty sweet weapon upgrade - but being new to this game - I wasn't sure really how good it was. Equipping the weapon to my mech, then taking it immediately into play, I noticed how much damage that weapon added. That being said, the short sight value looks pretty redeeming.
The longer I played the more I realized Mega Warriors doesn't give you as many choices as you'd hoped, the variety between all of your mechs is going to take some grinding. That is expected in any RPG, so we'll go ahead and put the value at average. I'd say about a solid week of grinding and you can get a pretty good basic setup.

Multiplayer
This is Mega Warriors highest accolade, 3v3 live action robot fighting is one of the fun things gaming can offer, let alone a on mobile device. As you watch the lasers and homing missiles attack your mechs and you dodge them to retain the best angle and blast the enemy away, you can't stop but smile as all the explosions fill your screen. After you crush the enemy, a feeling of pride washes over you, knowing you built a better mech and you dodged all those “basic” easily read attacks.
I can foresee climbing the leaderboard being extraordinarily fun in this game. After a strong pushing in advertising, maybe some competitive tournaments - this game can have a really strong future. The mobile robot fighting genre is large and currently there isn't many mobile games out that offer a solid mech fighting experience. That said, I personally recommend this one and hope to see it has a strong future in months to come.

Creativity
Well, the music in Mech Warriors does need some work, although it does have a good start. The longer I listen, the more repetitive it does get, but at least they chose good sound effects that don't get too annoying. In game, the graphics for a mobile mech game are outstanding. Outside the game, we find ourself with the generic RPG cookie cutter look we find in all our mobile games. So what makes this game unique….? They do have other mech based games out there…. I would have to say the 3v3 live action strategy combat system that they implemented.
Having to control three different mechs in your squad simultaneously, all having different abilities, does create for an advantageous combat experience. Putting in a live PvP system, cranks the action up another five notches. Great job Mega Warriors on creating a game that stands out in your genre. That said, I'd like to give this game solid 9 out of 10 and I will be playing this game again over the next few weeks, to see what kind of mechs these newbs are building.
9/10
