Mobile Action RPG Heroes of Skyrealm Arriving on iOS and Android in Mid 2016

Mechanist Games, the developer behind City of Steam, has recently revealed a brand-new mobile action RPG called Heroes of Skyrealm, which is scheduled to arrive on iOS and Android in Mid 2016. The official gameplay trailer has been sent out. Let's take a look.

Heroes of Skyrealm is a 3D, character-focused mobile action RPG. As the leader of a rebellious band of heroes, players take command of a city in the sky, a vast and upgradeable airship that also serves as the main interface between battles.

But the real key to Heroes of Skyrealm is combat – and with responsive controls and smart companion AI, leading a 3-hero team into battle is easy and compelling. A meaty single-player campaign leads into massive, real-time 3-player co-op challenges and a wide range of PvP modes– including several that put user-generated content front and center.

With a strong cast of over 30 playable characters drawn from ten distinct nations, every hero illuminates a different corner of Skyrealm. While combat and idle animations illuminate their personalities, unlockable comic vignettes delve deeper into this bright and vibrant world. Though gameplay is the core of Heroes of Skyrealm, characters are at its heart.

Page Two Main Features and More Screenshots

•    FIGHT FOR YOUR HOME – Battle across the Ten Nations of Skyrealm, from the pirate-infested waters of the Storm Isles to the soaring battlements of Falcon's Landing

•    COMMAND POWERFUL HEROES– Recruit from a colorful roster of over 30 characters, including steampunk soldiers, brutal beasts, ghostly gunslingers, clockwork champions, and many more

•    ILLUMINATE THE PAST– Discover a world of heroism, rivalry, and betrayal in collectible character comic vignettes

•    RULE FROM THE SKY– Plan your next move from a dynamically-upgradeable 3D airship, and garrison off-duty heroes to augment your facilities

•    CRAFT POWERFUL WEAPONRY– Augment your hero builds with rare, fully-modeled weapons that reinforce your favorite skills and play style

•    NEVER FIGHT ALONE – Challenge the campaign solo with your favorite three-character team, or adventure with friends through massive co-op encounters

•    PLAY YOUR WAY – Prove your strength and tactical skills on competitive leaderboards and real-time PvP modes, including melee arena, King of the Hill, and MOBA-inspired battlegrounds featuring user-generated content

Albion Online Dev Team Delves in Upcoming Future Plans

After two months of closed beta, the Albion Online development team released a post on the state of the game, and their vision of what is expected for the launch of their title.

  • The team in charge of the universe will be expanded, offering a rich and varied world that possesses more depth.
  • The beta has shown that there were some adjustments to made in regards to attendance and distribution of loot in dungeons and Hellgates.
  • Character progression will also require some adjustments, including a potential alternative approach to the progression itself.
  • An overhaul of the craft will also be provided, giving more choices and opportunities to artisans and other players. Rare items will also be integrated as craftable by the players, but requiring materials obtained on bosses or rare chests.
  • Black Zones and Red Zones:

Black zones are the zones where guilds and alliances fight over control. All regions that contain claimable territories will be assigned the black zone status. As a result of that, a much much larger part of the game world will be black zones and the highest end resources are only found there. Black zones will also contain open world buildings that provide certain benefits and influence to the owning guild and can be constructed, claimed and destroyed relatively freely.

Red zones will be full loot PvP zones that do not contain any claimable territories. Red zones will be subject to a crime and reputation system that makes sure that killing peaceful players - in particular, if they are zerged down - has more consequences for the attackers. Our goal for the red zones is for them to be zones more aimed solo and small group players, and not be as dominated by the larger territory-holding guilds as they currently are. This should make them attractive zones for higher end gathering and PvE (with a somewhat better chance to get away with it!) and small scale PvP fights.

Combat and propression balancing, graphics and feature polishing, bug fixing as well UI improvements are also planned in future updates.

Glu, the company behind the famous Kim Kardashian: Hollywood just announced the partnership with Taylor Swift, the very popular award-winning singer, on developing a mobile game inspired by Swift. Not much game details have been revealed by Glu, but they said they will make a "one-of-a-kind digital gaming experience". The Taylor Swift mobile game is slated for a late 2016 release on both iOS and Andriod platforms.

"We realize that Taylor and her global fan base expect a new and highly differentiated mobile gaming experience," Glu chairman and CEO Niccolo de Masi said. "Glu is equally committed to designing never before seen gameplay elements that utilize Taylor's unique creativity. Accordingly, we will spend the required development time to ensure this innovation is achieved."

According to Buzzfeed's report, Glu signed Taylor Swift, hoping to improve the company's performance because the app featuring Taylor Swift's rival Katy Perry was the "biggest disappointments" in the back half of last year. Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are believed to have very public feud and now it seems the war has been extended to the app store.

Paragon Devs: Using Controller Is As Good As Keyboard & Mouse

Paragon, Epic Games' new third person MOBA game, was announced at PlayStation Experience 2015 and since then, it has caught many players' attention. Paragon will be released in PC and PlayStation 4 with CrossPlay available and Creative Director Steve Superville told wccftech that they are very excited about the crossplay support and will reveal more details in the future.

In addition, Paragon will allow players to use keyboard & mouse on PlayStation 4 but Epic Games said there's no much differences between controller and K&M when it comes to competitive play and here's the reason given by Superville.

The pace of Paragon is not frantic like a typical third-person action shooter, and that’s intentional. We want to give players room to think strategically, to be careful about how they play, and to understand the action as it happens. In Paragon, it’s not entirely about twitch-based controls or that no-scope sniper headshot, so that levels the field a bit to start. And of course, the goal is to tune the controls in such a way that you should see no discernable difference — a skilled player on a controller will be able to hold her own against a skilled player using a keyboard/mouse. Some of our top players internally are using controllers against others who are using keyboard/mouse.

Bless-Source a leading English fansite, and a reliable authority on Bless-Online confirms that Bless-Online is making its way to Western markets.

Neowiz Games Business Manager just confirmed that the European and North American Publishing Contracts are in the final stage. Although there are no information about a possible release window this is still a great news for the western Community. There is also no confirmation about the rumor that Daum Games will not only publish Black Desert, but also Bless Online. Bless just entered the Open Beta Stage in Korea and will be released after. In case that you are interested in testing the Korean Version with our English patch visit this Article.

There has been a lot of speculation amongst the community on the mysterious publisher, a lot have speculated that it is Daum Communications, the same publisher for highly anticipated Black-Desert. In a recent article, it appears it is a developer interview between Daum and Bless-Online

Obviously it makes no sense as to why Daum would essentially promote their "Competitor" unless they're somehow directly involved. For many years, individuals have been viewing Bless-Online as the major competitor against Black-Desert.

Will Daum be publishing Black-Desert and Bless-Online? If so, Daum Communications will solidify itself for years in the Western market with 2 top-knotch MMOs.

Top 7 Reasons Why You Should Start Playing Blade & Soul

$

0
Blade & Soul has been officially released on Jan 19, 2016 and if you are not one of the 1 million players, here are the 7 reasons why you should start playing BnS.

>>> Visit our Blade & Soul hub for more news and guides!

1. Superb action skill-based combat

Instead of just giving you tons of skills and abilities some of them which you may never use, Blade&Soul gives you a few and encourages you to learn to use them to their max potential by teaching you new combos and new ways on how to use them along the way.

2. It’s not a grindy game!

I’ve heard that many people avoid or are hesitant to start eastern MMOs, because most of them require hours of grinding. Blade&Soul doesn’t belong in that category. I’ve managed to hit level 15 the first time I’ve played in just 3 hours, including watching all cutscenes, reading all dialogs and the loading screens.

3. Very interesting and immersive storyline.

Blade&Soul’s story is absolutely amazing! It includes voiced dialogs for each quest, even the secondary ones and also the main quest features a ton of cool, action packed cutscenes which are a feast for the eyes.

4. Ample variety of classes

There are plenty of classes to choose from, and yet some to be released. Each class with its own gameplay, strengths and weaknesses. One thing is for sure, you won’t get bored no matter what class you choose. Personally, I have played four of them since I’ve started and I intend to try them all in the future.

5. Deep character customization.

Blade&Soul has in my opinion one of the best character creators, I’ve ever used. There are plenty of tools to create your ideal hero/heroine. Take a look at some of the characters, players have designed (recognize anyone?)

6. One of the PVP in MMOs history.

While PVE is really good, PVP is where Blade&Soul truly shines. While you can battle other players in arena matches, 1v1 or in groups 3v3 and 6v6 there is also world PVP. During your journey, you will be asked to join some factions, each faction gives you their outfit which you can wear. While roaming if you see another player of the opposing faction wearing his outfit, you can just walk over him and beat him to a pulp.

7. Beautiful Graphics

The game may have been released in 2012 and the graphics engine may be outdated compared to newer games, But I would be damned if I said that the graphics are bad, because it’s an old game. A look at the pictures below can explain what I’m talking about.

Top 10 Clash Royale Tips For Beginners

$
0
0
Clash Royale is a mashup of a collectible card game, an MOBA, and an RPG. It’s the latest game from Supercell, the ones that brought you Clash of Clans, and it uses the same characters that we’ve all come to know and love. It’s the next big thing on mobile, and if you’re not playing already, you will be soon.

Here’s our top 10 tips for beginners who are just starting out in the game:

1. Don’t Spam The Cards
Elixir management is a major part of this game. If you don’t have elixir, you can’t spawn new cards on the field. So be careful and considered in what you place and when. Let your bar fill up first so you can see what your opponent is going to do, and deploy countermeasures where necessary. Nothing is worse than being out of elixir and staring down the barrel of a Skeleton Army.

2. Mix Up Your Deck
Having all high power cards in your deck may seem cool, but not when it means waiting 20 seconds between deploying cards. Keep a couple low elixir cards in your deck so you can always have ways of stopping a Prince charge, stalling a Skeleton Army, or back up your successful push on a tower.

3. Combine Your Troops
No one troop is the best in this game… but there are lots of awesome combinations that do a lot of damage. So figuring out good combinations of troops is key based on your cards. Test out deploying multiple troops at once, or in different orders, and build out your deck with these combinations in mind. There’s a lot of strategies here, and the game is constantly evolving. We will cover many Clash Royale Strategies later on. But in combination with this…

4. Spawn Near The Back Of The Field
You don’t always need to spawn your troops near the front. Sometimes it’s good to spawn your troops near the back of the field so you can have more time to combine multiple cards. Also, in the early game, while you wait for your opponent to play a card, you can buy yourself more time by playing a low-cost card near the back of the field.

5. Spend Less Elixir Than Your Opponent
It might sound obvious, but it’s something to think about with every card you play. When your opponent plays a card, you can react with a cheaper card to stall the attack while your towers finish him off. Or sometimes you may not even want to spend any elixir on a troop to defend and just let your tower take a little bit of damage instead to give you a leg up on your next attack.

6. Defense Is A Good Offense
Being reactive in Clash Royale can be a good thing. If your opponent throws a Prince card at you, react with a skeleton army once he nears your base. If he tosses a Goblin Barrel at you, lay down some Arrows before it lands to prevent them from doing much damage. If a Barbarian horde is coming, answer with some cheap little minions. If you can consistently defend against your opponent’s armies by using less elixir than he does, you will have a big edge when your window opens to push an attack.

7. Offense Is A Good Defense
Sometimes it’s fun to be the guy the others have to react to. So plan your attacks wisely and your opponent won’t have time to attack you since he’ll be busy defending. Throw down a skeleton bomber behind a Knight, and watch him clear the way for you. Or use a Giant as a meat shield while you deploy tons of Spear Goblins and Archers behind him to rain pain on anything ahead. Everybody knows that you throw down a Skelly Army to stop a Prince. But if you play your cards right you will have some Arrows ready to deploy to eliminate them as soon as they spawn, leaving your Prince to go all ‘guided missile’ on that undefended tower.

8. Watch TV Royale
Want to see what the best players in the game are doing, what cards they are using, and how they are combining them? Watch TV Royale replays to learn new techniques as the game’s meta is constantly changing and evolving.

9. Don’t Upgrade Things You’re Not Using
You should be saving your gold as much as you can and not wasting it by upgrading cards you aren’t playing with. Every 24 hours new cards become available to buy with gold, and you never know when that Epic card you’ve been waiting for (i.e. Xbow) will come up for 2,000 gold and you will be oh so happy you saved for it. You’ll get more gold and experience by donating your cards anyway once you join a clan. Which leads us to our last tip…

10. Join A Clan!
Not only is it fun to be in a clan, but you also receive to donate and receive cards which is a very fast way to level yourself up and enhance your deck’s power. Plus, just like in Clash of Clans, we are sure that soon there will be clan wars and lots of interesting loot and rewards from participating in those.
So there are our top 10 tips for newbies in Clash Royale. Don’t give up, even if you are on a losing streak. Learn from your mistakes, think of how to change your strategy to defend against different attacks. If you can’t get a Skeleton Army or a Dragon card early on, don’t fret, there are ways to defend, I promise. As you skill grows your trophies will too.

New Update Makes Gloria Victis More Dynamic and Welcoming

Playable as part of an Early Access phase that has been ongoing for several months now (and distributed on the official website of the game), Gloria Victis continues to update its content regularly, this time to be more welcoming for players. After working on invigorating the PvP mechanics, the newly deployed v.0.5.6 version of MMO now intends to extend and energize the world of the game.

Black Eyes Games studio initiates an overhaul of the starting zones of Gloria Victis - the "first impression is important," according to the developers. Mereley and Dunfen are reworked and a new port makes its appearance in western Mereley.

In the aftermath, the Black Eyes studio also intends to animate the MMO's world with various "dynamic events", sometimes being very anecdotal and intended solely to make the world more alive (when a fox encounters a chicken, the former takes a hunting stance, while the latter attempts to flee), and sometimes to enrich the gameplay - for example, bandits now try to steal resources within reach while rebels will attack people in surrounding towns, leaving the player with the choice of how to deal with them.

Gloria Victis also continues its technical overhaul. A new game client is now available, with its focus on facilitating updates. The game has evolved considerably since the start of its early access and the game experience is now much more pleasant. Obviously Black Eyes Games intends to keep up this momentum.

Yesterday, DayZ developers, Bohemia Interactive, released the information that their forum had been hacked backed in January. They loosely referred to the issue a week ago on Twitter, but an official confirmation of the "security incident" was only provided last night.

"According to our investigation all usernames, emails and passwords from forums.dayzgame.com were accessed and downloaded by hackers". They added that "While the passwords were not stored in plain text, but in a more secure form, it is highly recommended that if you have used the same password elsewhere you change it immediately on all applicable websites and services."

They also announced the implementation of several security overhauls as precaution against the numerous service interruptions and forum unavailability that they said would occur from time to time.

H1Z1 Will Be Split Into Two Games

In a truly surprising article, Daybreak, the developers of H1Z1, announced that the title will be split into two "different" games on February 17th.

The first one, H1Z1: Just Survive, will place its focus on the persistent open-world survival aspect, with scavenging, crafting, and bases will be at the core of the gameplay.

The second one, H1Z1: King of the Kill, will be more of an arena version of the game, with multiple game modes including a Battle Royale.

Both games will possess a team dedicated to their development, which should bring interesting results. It is also good to note that owners of H1Z1 will obtain a copy of each game on February 17th, and that the crates, keys and items they've accumulated will be transferred and duplicated to both games.

Both games, still in Early Access, will be available for $19.99 on February 17th. Finally, for those of you that still had doubts, the developers also confirmed that they currently have no plans to release either H1Z1 games with a Free-to-Play model.
