InterServ’s Heroes of the Dungeon (HoD) action RPG mobile game is now starting pre-registration. The game’s official worldwide release is scheduled for the end of October, on both iOS and Android.  Pre-registration is free of charge and only requires your e-mail to complete the sign up. All early adopters will each receive 5 Berserker Soulstones, an in-game collectable necessary to summon/upgrade one of the main playable heroes, in the form of a redeem code. Contents offered through the redeem code are valued at 29.99 USD and will be sent via email as soon as the game is available for download.

Featuring the largest roster of playable heroes ever found in a mobile dungeon crawler, HoD developer InterServ is preparing for the official launch at the end of October 2016. We had the chance to talk with the producer to learn more about the story behind Heroes of the Dungeon. Prepare yourself for an exclusive look at the character concepts and overworld.

Producer of Heroes of the Dungeon

Q: How did you come up with the concept for Heroes of the Dungeon?
A: My biggest influence is Dungeons and Dragons, I am a very big fan! But when I constructed the overworld, I originally considered a survival game in a zombie world. Another idea was a shooting game in a modern war setting. But in the end, the team decided to construct the world as a dungeon-style environment.

Q: Can you share the approach by the development team?
A: First of all, I hope Heroes of the Dungeon provides many unique visual effects and experiences. For example, during the dragon battle at the beginning of the game, we were able to create some next-gen graphics and models. The executive art producer and action designer spent over 1 month designing the battle.

Also, the animation for every hero’s ultimate skill is very important to me. I don’t want every fight to look the same. The goal of our design team is to push the player emotions into an immersive experience. It’s really important for players to experience a variety of exciting battles.

Artist and Character Drafts

Q: What is it like to experience the overworld for Heroes of the Dungeon?
A: The world designer and I combined the features of mobile games and the depth of console games. We designed the world to be simple, yet gameplay-wise still offers a deep challenge. It is our hope that in the beginning, players will feel the world as chaotic, but attractive. Players are going to explore the world through their characters. The overworld is designed with the players in mind, and we hope that within the first 5 minutes of playing, players will fall in love with the world and its charm.

Lance the Berserker Draft

Q: Was there a most memorable moment while developing the game?
A: I believe that every part of development is equally important. However, the most unforgettable moment was while gathering prototype elements. We picked a few successful elements from our previous games, to build and expand upon our ideas for Heroes of the Dungeon. After all, most of our team was working on new patches for another game, so it just seemed to make sense.

In the beginning of development, we came up with many interesting things. The game includes vertical battle screens which allow players to easily enjoy Action RPG with one hand, as well as quick time events (QTE) for context sensitive gameplay like in console games. Developers achieved some great accomplishments during the initial prototypes. We even designed a boss battle in a 4-player co-op mode. These are pretty innovative features for today’s mobile games. Be that as it may, not all of our ideas have made it to the final version of the game. It became a matter of managing costs and value that were added to the project. Nonetheless, the design team will do their best to present the highest quality experience for players.

Character Draft

Q: Can you tell us about the main characters and their design?
A: Lance the Berserker. I decided Lance would play an important role in the first design iteration. He is a born natural hero. Lance is really important during the early stages of Heroes of the Dungeon, and offers a great perspective for different areas of the game. I really hope players take advantage of his great gameplay, story, and immersion.

Cloris the Shadow Archer. She is the first female character in the game. I hope she is not only sexy and mysterious, but also special and agile. We added an ammo system to her skillset, which is different from your typical ranged character in an ARPG. We reviewed and adjusted the ammo system during development, to ensure that her skills were not too hard to understand.

Boss Character Draft

Q: The most special part of Heroes of the Dungeon is the dynamic dungeon system. Can you share how the dungeon system was designed?
A: In the beginning, I hoped to construct a deep and complex dungeon system with random generation. Actually, we made several different versions during development. However, we found out players only play mobile games for a few minutes at a time. This is why we made a huge dungeon, and chopped it down into several small stages. Players will be able to enjoy Heroes of the Dungeon in segments, while still being able to progress in the game.

Colosseum Draft

Final thoughts…

“The development team is very grateful for the continued support from its beta players. The feedback and suggestions collected during beta have been extremely valuable, and have benefit to create a more rewarding experience. Whether it's the richness of game modes, diversity of heroes, or fluid gameplay, we hope that players enjoy this great creation and community.”
– InterServ International

Heroes of the Dungeon will be available for both the Android and iOS platform at the end of October.

Nexon Korean announced that anime MMORPG Aima (once a high-anticipated MMO in South Korea) will be shut down on November 17th. Nexon didn't give any explanation but I can speculate it was due to the lack of players and the ability to make profit. On the other hand, Nexon's focusing on mobile gaming market could also be a reason for the closure.

Blizzard's competitive FPS Overwatch has 12 male heroes, 9 female heroes and a robot hero that doesn't have gender. In the first few months after the game launched, there were many cosplays for D.VA, Mercy, Tracer, and Widowmaker, 4 of the most popular female heroes in the game. And now more and more girl cosplayers are doing male hero cosplay and they've taken both costumes and makeup to a higher level.

Mortal Blitz for Walking Attraction
is an Unreal Engine 4 VR FPS developed by South Korean company Skonec Entertainment and the game is presented for the first time to the public at Korean Virtual Reality Festival (KVRF) 2016.

Essentially the game is a horror / action shooter puts you into the shoes of future warrior who shoots alien creatures. The gameplay trailer also shows explosive actions and fast-paced intense combat that reminds me of the Doom series and Dead Space, a horror shooter published by EA.

Unlike the PSVR version of Mortal Blitz (which is available to play in the PSVR demo disc), Mortal Blitz for Walking Attraction requires much larger space to play. Player need to wear a backpack PC, moving around and shooting — all the action is equal to the reality, as the dev says.

It seems that only few people use PEKKA and 3 musketeers in the same deck, so today I want to present this deck to you guys. I was stuck around 3800-3900 trophies for a long time since my lvl8 3 musketeers are often taken down by lvl9 Fireball. Thanks to god, I finally push to 4000+ trophies with this deck. Without further ado, check the guide below.

MY Deck

On Offense
Pekka + 3 Musketeers + Ice Spirits
Pekka + Guards + Ice Spirits
Pekka + Miner + Minions
Guards + 3 Musketeers
Miner + Minions
Miner + 3 Musketeers

Match ups
Giant + Poison:Drop down Pekka in the same lane to take out Giant. Most of the time, I’ll place 3 musketeers 1 title away from the King Tower to split them. According to the situation, make a push with Pekka + 2 musketeers/musketeer. Guards are good at defense. You can use them to deal with Prince and Mini Pekka. If you have enough elixir, you can drop Guards behind Pekka to bait out Poison, and then feel free to make a huge push with 3 musketeers. By the way, drop the elixir collector on the side with higher HP.

Giant + Sparky:Basically the same as Giant + Poison. Use Zap, Guards and Ice Spirits to distract Sparky.

Hog Cycle: It's fine to sacrifice your Tower HP in the first push so that you can adjust you card order. Hold Guards + Ice Spirit to deal with Hog Rider, Save Zap for Goblin Barrel. Play defensively before double elixir time. After that, it’s your show time. Make double lane push with PEKKA + 2 Musketeers and Miner + Musketeer + Minions.

Lava Hound:
Push another lane with PEKKA and then drop 3 musketeers in front of the King Tower to deal with the huge push. After that make a double lane push with Guards + 2 Musketeers, Miner + Musketeer.

Tank + 3 Musketeers:

David Brevik, the man co-founded Blizzard North and created Diablo franchise, is now back for another Diablo-like project. He announced at Twitter today that he's the adviser of a game that pushes the Diablo genre to new heights.

David's tweet raised some speculations already. Some said it's Diablo 4, which was very unlikely in my opinion. Someone mentioned Grim Dawn, and he had a point for the game was seen as a good spiritual successor to Diablo 2. My guess, it could be Lost Ark or Path of Exile. The former is still in development and it makes sense that David is invited to offer some advices. And for Path of Exile, the game has released 5 expansions and will have more in the future. David could play a role in the future development of the game which has over 12 million players worldwide. Besides, David did mentioned back in 2012 that he played Path of Exile and thought it was a little bit like Diablo 2.5.

What do you think? Tell us your opinions.

Korean mobile MMORPG ADEN has started pre-registration in South Korea and will be officiallly launched on Google Play this month. The game is developed by ITS GAMES and it launched on a Korean app store called One Store in August and became the best selling mobile game. The game seems to be worth your attention. Read on to learn the gameplay features.

Endless battle in large open world

Unlike most mobile game RPG, ADEN stresses on open world gameplay. Similar to PC MMORPG, ADEN has a wide variety of monsters as well as quests in the world where players can team up and play together.

There's no entergy in this game so players can play as much time as they want. However, the gameplay remains the grinding type. Last but not least, PK system will be implemented in the future.

3 Classes and character transformation

Knight, Archer and Wizard are 3 playable classes, each of which has 4 starting abilities and 4 different forms of transformation. The interesting part is depending on how you allocate attribution points, you can have very different experience for the same class.

Real-time PvP arena - Hall of Fame

Hall of Fame is one of the two PvP modes in the game. It's a real-time PvP battle, where 3 players in each team duel the opponent player in turns. A player who has powerful character and good play skill can defeat all 3 players in the opposite team.

Demon Legion, a mode includes both PVP and PVE

Another PVP mode Demon Legion pits 2 teams' 10 players to race to the boss chamber in order to take down the final boss and then the opponent team. By defeating the boss, a team can gain buff, so the team that reaches the boss chamber first gains an advantage in the following PvP battle

Lots of dungeons for group play

There are several types of dungeons, including Marauder's Cave, a dungeon where you can farm gold, Infinite Tower, a dungeon to challenge your limit, and Guild Dungeons that offer different difficulties. There are 4 Guild Dungeons available for 5 players to challenge

GTA VI sure is one of the most hyped games for the next few years. The sixth installment in the series is in development but the release date could be around 2020, according to report.

The rumor that GTA VI might be VR compatible has been there for a while. But i guess there won't be any announcement before E3 2017. So the topic here is do you want to play GTA VI in VR? Do you think it will enhance the experience or ruin it?

RIFT
is finally going to get siege battles in the upcoming Starfall Prophecy expansion this fall. Sieges in RIFT are PvE only and they can be played by a player alone or in any size of team. The first siege is Xarth's Skull, and details can be read below.

Related: RIFT's Starfall Prophecy Expansion Has an Open Beta Date

The first fortress available with Starfall Prophecy is Xarth's Skull, the seat of Queen Una. Built inside the massive remains of an Akvan struck down in a long-ago war with the gods, the Tuath'de have expended great effort over millennia to build a perfect defense against any who might assail them. Rings of curtain walls and mighty gates surround the inner courtyard and protect the leaders of the Tuath'de.

If a player is attempting to go solo, he/she may wish to face challenges around the exterior walls of the fortress, picking off less protected foes, a vital task to support those further in.

To going deeper, a group of players are required.

Further feats of valor are within the grasp of a group of Ascended, as they penetrate deeper into the concentric rings of fortifications, facing lieutenants with their squadrons.

With enough skilled veterans on hand, it may even be possible to wrest control of powerful siege weaponry to blast down the inner gates themselves!

You can read more about siege at the official site.
