For the first time ever, PAX Aus will feature a dedicated VR Freeplay Area, where attendees will have the opportunity to experience the latest virtual-reality games and technology.

The VR Freeplay Area, sponsored by Harvey Norman Games Hub, will let people get hands on with the latest in VR hardware, with dedicated HTC VIVE playable areas that will also include some green-screen VR setups and Omni treadmills, as well as Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR.

"VR dominates the headlines, yet most people have never had the chance to try it out," said Jerry Holkins, co-founder, Penny Arcade and PAX. "Trying that technology for the first time is a magical experience, and we're glad to offer that moment to the tens of thousands of attendees coming to PAX Aus."

The PAX Aus 2016 VR Freeplay Area can be found in a large, 234 square metre space located on level 2 of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The latest update brought to the Japanese version of Mobius Final Fantasy is Esmeralda, Meia's 3rd Job. At the beginning of this month when Meia (Meir) was introduced as a new playable female character, we knew that she will feature job cards. Steparu was able to get the new job card on its 2nd Magicite draw, and as a result, a four-minute long gameplay that presents her in action, has been made public. In case you didn't know, as a permanent character, Maia can also be played in Multiplayer. Enjoy the gameplay video even in 4k resolution.

Torchlight Mobile - A More In-depth Look

$

Hello, Gamers!

In today’s article we will be reviewing a much anticipated game which is also many people’s favorite dungeon crawler, Torchlight the mobile version.

A mobile version of the Torhlight series has been asked ages ago by fans of the franchise, unfortunately this one that I’ve played is only in Chinese and you will most probably need a VPN connection if you are living outside China in order to play it. Nevertheless, there have been discussion about translating the game, but they are still in early stages.

Before I move into the main topic let me just say that this game is not a mobile conversion of the Torchlight games that we know.  This is a brand new game developed by the Chinese company Perfect World and Fedeen Games will be responsible for the game’s Western release. Torchlight mobile was programmed from scratch with mobile devices in mind in order to facilitate the gameplay and maximize the gaming experience for all  mobile users, either Android or iOS.

Let's take a look a the game's main features first:

FEATURES

Like the PC Torchlight games, the mobile version remains faithful to the tradition and implements all the features and mechanics that Torchlight fans loved. In short, the game features:
  • Large dungeons to explore.
  • Random loot drops.
  • A large variety of enemies.
  • 4 different classes each one with its own unique way of playing.
  • Flashy and colorful animations.
  • Lots of different pets to choose from to assist you in your adventure.
  • And of course fishing to morph your pets! Because “A man never has enough pets.”

But that is just about what the PC Torchlight games had. The mobile version also adds the PvP element into the game which in my opinion is a very good thing to do for the longevity of the game in this bursting and highly competitive mobile market nowadays.
  • You will be able to play 1v1 duels in Arena and compete against strangers or  your friends.
  • Or you can play the MOBA minigame.
If you want to watch actual gameplay footage of Torchlight mobile, you can watch this video below:

Now that we are done with the technical details let’s move on to the game’s  pros and cons, the good things and the bad things.

Note that this is my personal opinion on the game, but I do believe that it may help you get a clearer view about it and its mechanics.

Pros

Easy and Comfortable controls

Overall, I am not big fan of mobile games. One reason is that besides consuming my battery faster than it can recharge, the controls in most action mobile games are mostly crappy, perhaps the fact that I have butterfingers may be partially the cause, but still I believe that many people would agree that playing games on your mobile is not the most comfortable thing in the world.

Nevertheless, I didn’t experience that feeling of uncomfortableness as I was slaying hordes of enemies nonstop in my Smartphone’s screen. I purposely installed and played Torchlight on my phone and not my tablet which has a much bigger screen, because I wanted to test how well the controls were implemented. And I have to say that I was quite satisfied with them.

Replayability and Skills variation

Perhaps this one was obvious since we are talking about Torchlight, but I thought I should mention it just to be sure. Thankfully, the developers stayed true to their word about following the Torchlight and managed to deliver a very satisfying result.

If you have played any Torchlight games before either alone or with others you would already know that no matter how many times you play the same dungeon there will never be two identical dungeon-runs. There will always be something new or different to see or do.

Also, there is quite a variety of character builds that you can try or skills to use. At first, I thought that since this is a mobile game there will be max 10 different skills for each class, but I was wrong. You have up to 36 skills to choose from. The idea is as follows: Each class has 6 core skill which can be combined with one another to a total of 36 unique, different skills. Of course you can only have equipped up to 4 skills and your Ultimate, plus your main auto-attack skill.

PVP

As for this part I was really unlucky.
Unfortunately, I was not able to play any PVP,because it would throw me an error each time I tried. Perhaps, the servers were down or something else on my part was wrong. Anyway, I’ve decided to search for a PVP video, but there was none. It was a shame, because I really wanted to do a deeper review about this since it was the breath of fresh air in the Torchlight series.
Dueling Arena

Nevertheless, I did find some info about the PVP and from what I’ve seen there is a potential to make this work. First of all, in regards to the Arena battles, they are similar to Path of Exile duels, so if you have played any of it you know to what I’m referring, if not you can go watch a video and learn about them.
MOBA map

As for the MOBA part which was the most surprising thing to add into Torchlight I know that there will be a standard three or two lane map with constant minions’ spawning, jungle monsters and of course a map Boss. I’ve also heard that the creators are huge fans of DOTA so, I can assume that there will be a lot of similarities to the DOTA map and perhaps the way the MOBA minigame is played.

Cons

Recycling old classes.

In the Chinese version of Torchlight mobile which is the one I played there were three playable classes available, Engineer, Kitsune, similar to Embermage and Alchemist class from the PC versions and finally the sword yielding EmberBlade who resembles the Destroyer class from Torchlight 1. Finally, from what I've gathered, the fourth class  will be some sort of mage with psychic powers, though I am not 100% sure.

As you can see the developers decided to play it safe and stuck with the same class archtypes from the previous games. When Torhlight II was released I was excited about the new classes, because they were nothing like the previous game, but now it seems to me that they just recycled old ideas and added a few new elements just for the sake of change.
(e.g. the Embermage is now an anthropomorphic fox with a fluffy tail.)

Perhaps the fourth class will be completely different from the old ones, but we will have to wait for the official release in order to be sure.

 Pricing Strategy

We already know that the game will be free-to play, but as for their monetary strategy we know next to nothing. Perhaps there will be a shop with cosmetics or boosts, but how much these will affect the game remains to be seen.

The good news are that there won’t be a STAMINA system.

Developing and maintaining any kind of game can be costly, that’s why I fear that we might end with pay-to-win abomination which will affect the PvP element of the game which is one of the game’s biggest pros.

What Do You Think About a Guild Wars HD Remaster?

$

0
Guild Wars is a competitive online role-playing game developed by ArenaNet and published by NCsoft. Released back in 2005, it marked a deviation from the traditional MMORPG norms, thanks to its great focus on PvP. Guild Wars is one of the few MMORPGs which received a sequel (Guild Wars 2) that was able to offer to its fans a more actual gameplay experience. Just like any other game out there, Guild Wars has its passionate fans who enjoy the original version.

Well, some of the GW fans want more from the game so they decided to express their desire for a HD remake of the game. XClaytonHannaX is the Reddit user who contacted ArenaNet through their support page with the proposition of relaunching Guild Wars in a HD format. Her inquire received an encouraging feedback from ArenaNet: "I was told that they were unsure about whether or not it was something they would do but they encouraged me to create a forum thread to see if the idea gained any momentum." Based on this response, a recent Reddit thread called "DAE want a GuildWars HD remaster?" has gathered 208 upvotes and 67 comments until this  article was written. We will see if this forum thread will gain the amount of interest needed by ArenaNet to re-release Guild Wars in a HD format.

Blizzard Entertainment has released World of Warcraft Patch 7.1: Return to Karazhan with new Karazhan Mythic Dungeon, new Trial of Valor Raid, the continuing Suramar Campaign, new World Quests and many changes for classes and items.

New Karazhan Mythic Dungeon

From the moment of its mysterious creation, the purpose of this dark tower has been intertwined with the history of the Guardians of Tirisfal, once Azeroth's greatest bulwark against the Legion. It is now best known as the home of Medivh, who tragically betrayed Azeroth and brought the unbroken chain of Guardians to an end. This legacy makes Karazhan a place of particular interest for the Legion, who have descended in full force in an effort to open a new front in their war on the denizens of Azeroth.

Gather a party of five seasoned adventurers and return to this legendary dungeon to face eight bosses on Mythic difficulty. It’s an experience that may turn you upside-down!

New Trial of Valor Raid

Since Loken's betrayal, Odyn has been trapped within the Halls of Valor as Helya plots in the shadows to claim the souls of his valarjar champions. In recent days, however, great heroes have arrived in the lands of Stormheim in the Legion's wake. Hoping that their might and determination could tip the scales and end Helya's reign, Odyn summons these champions for a final test.

This new three-boss raid dungeon completes the story of Stormheim. Odyn, Guarm, and Helya will become available in Normal and Heroic difficulties two weeks after the launch of Patch 7.1, with Mythic and Raid Finder Difficulties opening afterward.

The Continuing Suramar Campaign

Your heroic efforts in Suramar continue with a series of quests that unlock over a period of nine weeks, ultimately leading you to the very entrance of the Nighthold. Delve into the story of the Nightfallen insurrection against the Nightborne and their Legion allies, and you can obtain the wondrous Arcanist’s Manasaber mount. Look for the quest “Lockdown” to get started.

New World Quests

A new questline that will unlock Helarjar World Quests is now available. Look for “A Call to Action” in Dalaran to discover the depth of Helya’s influence on all of the Broken Isles and contribute to the resistance.

Falcosaurs are here! The coastline of the Broken Isles is under assault from an invasive, predatory species, and they’re breeding out of control! Falcosaurs drop Falcosaur Eggs and Falcosaur Feathers, reagents for new First Aid and Cooking recipes. Save an Orphaned Falcosaur pet to begin a journey toward understanding these hungry creatures, and you might find yourself with a unique new mount.

Gameforge Quits Mobile Gaming and Lays Off 1/5 of its Staff

Gameforge is a German company, provider of online games. Gameforge was one of the first companies in Europe to offer its games using the free-to-play business model. In a recent interview, Alexander Rösner, Gameforge CEO, announced that the company will leave the mobile games behind and will fully focus on the publishing of PC titles. This new business strategy will trigger the most important restructuring phase from company's history.

This decision is accompanied by a wave of layoffs that can be translated into almost 90 people (1/5 of the total staff) who will be let go. The decision to move away from the mobile games is the direct result of a low impact on this market, lower than originally expected. Gameforge deals primarily in free-to-play online game such as Aion Online, Orcs Must Die! Unchained, TERA and others.
Earlier this year, Gameforge announced its cooperation with South Korean development studio Lion Games in order to publish Soul Worker in Europe and North America.

Fractured Space Review - The Best Space MOBA?

$
0
0

Fractured Space is another new MOBA, but this time set in space and instead of heroes you are commandeering massive space ships. This slowly tiring genre never seizes to amaze me with how many different and creative ways developers find to approach it. From full on fantasy like League of Legends to mythology inspired Smite and now we finally have space fantasy with Fractured Space.

But does this game have what it takes to stand out in this competitive market or will it join failures like Infinite Crisis, Dawngate, and others that are left only in our memories? Well, it can go both ways, but for a more detailed look join me in my review. I consider myself a veteran MOBA player, I have played almost every single one of them, including previously mentioned dead ones, so I didn’t have a problem handling the mechanics of the game, but as you will see some parts of this game really bothered me.

Graphics

First of all, let’s start with the most positive part of the game and that is graphics. Without a doubt, this is one of the most beautiful game I have ever played. Stunning space environments feel both cold and dead, and warm and alive. Battlefields are crafted to the smallest details, with big planets in the background and asteroid fields on them. There are a number of different battlefields with visually different obstacles. Space stations that are in the middle of these battlefields are huge and really give the feeling of approaching a massive structure in the middle of the space. The sense of scale is really good in Fractured Space.

As for the ships, I cannot give them enough praise. The sheer amount of detail that went into creating these masterpieces is amazing. Every single ship has a different design of not only the look, but also the way it plays. Fire, warp, shield and every other visual effect in this game is a feast for the eyes. Grading this game just from the visual standpoint makes it a perfect ten in my opinion. Fractured Space really does deliver in making you feel like a real commander of a huge space battleships or even a mining ship if that is what you like.

Gameplay

Now for the meat of the game, the gameplay. Fractured Space is not your standard MOBA wave pushing and farming, instead, it focuses on small skirmishes with enemy ships over the control of the space stations. Now every round in this game is divided into five sectors. Two sectors for home bases (yours and your enemy’s), two sectors that practically serve as lanes and one last sector where huge battles take place over the station that gives a stats buff to the team that captures it.

The whole point of the game is to capture space stations on these lanes so you gain the access to the enemy’s home base. Once you are able to warp in their home base sector you begin the capturing process and if you manage to finish it you take the victory. I think that here lies the problem of this game. Everything revolves around capturing stationary bases while you fight the enemy and this is the only mode available for PvP. This is not a boring concept at all, but it just lacks something in my opinion. Everything should feel tactical as you command this huge ship, your smaller, more mobile ships should go around and flank enemy support ships and your massive tank ships should be in front and soak up the damage while supports help him stay alive, but it just doesn’t feel this way.

There were some moments when I and my team outmaneuvered and destroyed enemies in a glorious fashion and I myself got outplayed a couple of times, but frankly, those scenarios need to happen a lot more. I know I am not a pro at this game, but there are just optimal tactics to win. Ganging up on one ship is how things usually go and with huge death timers, especially in later stages of the game, you are really punished if one of your teammates dies. I imagine playing with the full premade team is a lot of fun as you can synergize and plan your attacks carefully, but I didn’t have that experience.

Also, this game has a really shallow in-game customization system. Every three levels you get a choice between attack, defense and utility upgrade. As you expect an attack upgrade boosts your damage and weapon reload speed, defense upgrade boosts health and shields, and utility upgrade boosts cooldowns on your repairing abilities and some other stuff.

Economy

Fractured Space is a free-to-play title and as such needs to have a fair business model for both paying and free players. Currently, in the game, there are 31 ships and you start with three free ones. Prices of the ships range from around 100 000 in-game credits to around 900 000. You can also purchase all ships with real money premium currency. In my opinion, prices are fair. I hate grinding for heroes or in this case ships, but I realize that is how the free-to-play games work. There are also skins for ships that are only acquired with premium currency as with the all free-to-play titles.

Fractured Space also has a crew system which you can use to customize different stats of your ship. For example, one crew member gives you 1000 more health points and another gives you 10% cooldown reduction on your weapon. This is all interesting and fun, you can build your own ship that will play uniquely, but the problem is that getting those crew members feels so grindy.

First, you need to purchase them from the shop for in-game or premium currency or get them from the random drops (good luck with that). Then create them using DNA currency and this is what bothers me. DNA currency is not gained by finishing games, only by random drops and converting your in-game currency into it. The whole process for acquiring a new crew member is completely stacked against free-to-play players. The only upside is that you get a starter crew to fill your whole ship and other crew members are not that superior to the starter ones, only a few stat points here and there.

Final verdict

                          PROS                                        CONS
Large variety of ships                        Only one PvP mode
Amazing graphics                              Grindy crew member system
Perfect ship control                            Some bugs and glitches

My final verdict for this game is 7.4/10.

I really enjoyed some aspects of it, but frankly, it lacks a lot in some departments. Fractured Space won’t kill other top MOBAs at the moment, but to be honest it doesn’t have to. This game already has a loyal base that will help sustain it and I will surely hop in for a game or two from time to time. In the end, the game is totally worth checking out, it’s free-to-play so you have nothing to lose, and in the future updates, I hope we will see some improvements like new game modes, maps and maybe some rework of the crew member system. And to answer the title question, yes, it definitely is the best space MOBA.

Cry - Dark Rise of Antihero Mobile Game Guide

$
0
0

Today we will take a quick look at Cry - Dark Rise of Antihero (also known as Cry - The Blackend Soul), the latest free to play ARPG from Eyedentity that was recently launched on Android and iOS, and I will share a few advices that will help you thruought your journey. The guide will be split into: Beginner Tips and Advanced Tactics.

Beginner Tips:

1. Play all Characters - In others games you usually choose the character that best fits your playstile and stick with it till the end, but in Cry it will be a good idea to play all the characters available (at the point I am writing this, there are three characters) as you will gain a lot of free diamonds that will be account bound. So you can gather all the free diamonds on each char and then decide on what char you should spend them (you are not in a hurry as the first missions are quite easy, so you don't need to spend any money or diamonds right away).

2. Focus on Events - Although Eyedentity didn't launch a real marketing campaign for this title, there are quite a lot of events happening at launch (lvl up, daily log-in, facebook events) that will award you with great rewards. Keep an eye on each promotion requirement and try to focus on completing them.

3. Mix AoE and Single Target Skills - Cry features a combat system based on skill combos, where you will get the chance to develop your character strengths by investing the available skill points in different abilities. At first you will be tempted to go all-in on the AoE skills as mobs comes from all directions and it will be easier to clear the dungeons using AoE, but you need to remember that at the end of each dungeon and map there is a final boss, and at the "end game" raids will also be available. So even if the early skill points will go into AoE skills, invest the later ones into single target skills so you stand a chance against the high tier bosses.

4. Complete all Daily Quests - In this aspect, Cry is no different from other games that you played before, as they have a lot of daily quests split between daily dungeons, Realm of Trials, Battle Arenas and World Raid. Completing these challenges will award you with gold, runes, equipment and crafting materials.

5. Check for Free Draws - After finishing several dungeons, when you are coming back to the main screen to upgrade your gear, learn new skills or change your rune setup, check the shop (gear tab) option for free draws (notice that you need to scroll a little for the armor free draw). This option will be available at a certain time, so you don't want to miss the chance to get some powerful new items (the high grade weapon/armor chests will reward grade C-SS items).

6. Disable the Auto Use Skill Function - The game features an auto-battle option that you will probably use most of the times. By default the auto-use-skill function is activated (the game basically run by itself), but this will cost you 500 gold for each battle. It's not much, but if you are actually playing the game, it will be wise to turn it off and do the skills manually.

7. Keep an Eye for the Ultimate Skill - During each encounter, for a short amount of time, an ultimate skill will pop up, and if you tap it in time, your hero will perform a powerful skill that will do a huge amount of damage.

8. Clean your Inventory - As you have only a certain amount of inventory slots that can fill up pretty quick, be sure to clean your inventory by selling or upgrading (more about this in the second part of the guide) your gear. If your inventory is full, the additional rewards will be transformed into gold, and you don't want that awesome piece of SS gear to turn into a pile of shiny coins.

9. Use Runes and Battle Buffs - Through your journey you will discover a decent number of runes (more details about it on the second part of the guide) that will help you encounter specific monsters (each stage is weak against a certain type of runes). My advice is to use these runes, and the battle buffs (these buffs are available for gold before each dungeon starts) on the Daily Dungeons and Realm of Trials as you don't want to fail any stage when you have a locked number of entries.

10. Daily Dungeon Stage - Even if you feel that the game is not challenging enough at the beginning, don't change the daily dungeon stage during the first days, as you will probably end up dead due to the highly increased difficulty, and you will lose one entry.

Advanced Tactics:

1. Deploy your Familiars - The familiar system is similar with the garrison/order hall companion system from World of Warcraft. You have a few minions that can either assist in battle or go complete different missions for you.

The higher tier the familiar has, the better chance to complete the mission it has. You can send them into 1h, 3h or 6h missions for a high chance of acquiring gold and crafting material and a low chance of getting familiar xp cards and weapons.

At the early stages you don't really need their help in battles so don't waste any time and send them on the available missions.

2. Gear Types & Stats - In Cry, there are 7 grades of gear (from E to SS) and 5 types of quality tiers (rusty, antiquated, fine, reinforced and unbreakable). Even if you have the same grade on two similar pieces, the stats may differ based on their quality score, so keep an eye on this also when choosing the right item to equip.

The main stats for gear are ATK - for weapon, DEF - for helmets, armors, shoes and gloves, and HP - for rings and necklaces, while the secondary stats will be randomly given based on the gear grade. Beside the normal equipment, Cry also features Costumes that can further enhance your character stats. The basic Costume will give DEF and the special weapon will give ATK. Costumes secondary stats may be changed with gems.

3. Upgrading your Gear - Any item can be upgraded by various methods:
  • Item Enhance - This is basically the enchant option where you can enhance gear up to +30 for each grade. Costumes can be enhanced to a maximum of +9.
  • Item Evolve - This option will allow you to evolve an item to a higher grade. A +30 gear can be evolved to a higher grade by using gold or chaosites (a crafting material obtained through various dungeons) and a +9 costume can be evolved with gems.
  • Item Combine - If you have 2 pieces of gear of the same quality, you can enhance them to +30 and then combine them into a higher grade item. This option is only available for the basic gear (no costumes).

4. Rune System - In Cry there are 5 different attributes and runes: water, fire, earth, light and dark. Same as gear, runes has different grades, but no quality differences. When used in a battle the rune durability will decrease, and when depleted, the rune will become useless.

Each character has 6 different rune slots that are unlocked at certain levels, and runes can be activated one at a time. You will get to choose what type of runes to use before each mission/dungeon, after searching the type of mobs that you will encounter.

Same grade of runes can be synthesized into a higher grade rune by using gold. The more runes you use, the higher chance of success you get.

5. Crafting - Through crafting you can obtain powerful gear that have a set effect. Besides the basic stats, you will be able to add 2 random secondary stats by using gems.
Materials used for crafting:
  • Dragon Scale - Acquired through different stages (the normal map dungeons)
  • Divine Shard - Acquired from Multi Raid
  • Relic Piece - Can be bought with battle coins earned inside the Arena
  • Chaosite - Acquired from Daily Dungeons
  • Bloody Steel - Acquired from destroying S and SS gear

6. Crafting and Upgrading SS gear - For crafting you will need bloody steels that can be obtained as mentioned above, by destroying previous rank items or SS gear that you don't need (for example you can get it as a reward for a free draw, but with stats that you don't like).

Once you have the desired SS gear, enhance it to +30 in order to unlock a new option called Liberate that will improve your gear current stats.

The final upgrade is called Outforge and is available only for liberated SS gear. For this you will need gold, strengtheners and a bit of luck as it's not a 100% chance process. When you fail the outforged stage will remain, but the materials used will be lost.

I hope that this guide managed to answer some of your question and that it will give you a more pleasant gameplay experience.

Clash Royale: Push to Arena 9 With Golem Beatdown Deck (2600-3000 Trophies)

Hey guys, so I've been hanging around the 2500 mark lately and practising my golem deck on challenges and tournaments and I decided yesterday that it's time to make my push since I had two crown chests ready to play for. In the span of two crown chests I pushed from around 2600 to 3000 winning my last 5 games all in a row to push me over 3000. Here's the deck I used:

My Deck

Card  Breakdown

King Tower : Level 9

Golem : Level 4
The star of the show, this guy has an insane amount of health at tournament standards, always place behind the tower unless its in double elixir and you have a pump down or you're desperate on defence.

Prince : Level 3
Used as your main ground dps, taking out hogs then push on the counter attack, taking out giants and supporting your golem. Could swap for mini pekka/lumberjack but then you're vulnerable to bowler. I like prince also because you can run the rest of the deck as a prince cycle if you're unable to get a golem down due to pressure.

Mega Minion : Level 7
Main air dps, main use is to kill giant and then push on the counter attack. Drop it behind your golem on any main push. I never golem push without this guy in my hand as sometimes you'll get rushed when you place it. A cheap 3 elixir means you can defend a hog or prince push with minimal damage. This guy has won me 70% of my games on offence with his dps and survivability behind the golem.

Poison : Level 3
Meta spell, use it to support golem push. Wipes out minion hordes/barbarians etc. Used on defence only if 100% needed. I will rarely poison a pump, only if I have one down already and im at 10 elixir.

Zap : Level 9
Meta spell, most important for inferno tower.

Tombstone : Level 6
Your steel wall on defence. This is one of my favourite cards in the game. I destroy hog decks because of this card. You can counter so much with it: mini p, prince, giant, sparky, you can use it to pump out skeles for an inferno counter or you can use as a spawner to support a push. With two of these down, you are unbreakable. Not a replaceable card for me.

Pump : Level 6
Needed to run this higher cost golem deck. Your goal is to get at least 1 full pump before you golem push before double elixir, 1.5-2 is preferred. In double elixir depending on the situation I will stop pumping up, and on occasion I'll golem push without a pump before double elixir. This card will see usage depending on your oponents deck. I find I pump up more against cycle decks because once I kill their cycle card I have that grace period for another push.

The Log : level 1
Can be replaced with ice spirit/princess/arrows/skeletons/guards etc ... Mostly a flex spot but I find the log has helped me the most here. Counters princess at a +1 advantage and can help wipe out ground pushes with ease. I use it a lot to re-target a card onto a tombstone or a different card and its great support on the enemy side of the field when you've got a golem and a poison going. Will put the finishing touches on barbs/musky/mini p to eliminate any form of counter push. Irreplaceable for me, but I ran this deck with ice spirit here before too and it worked almost as good

Strategy:

If you have a pump, place it to open if you have at least a mega minion or tombstone or prince in your hand. If not, try to cycle a card. Most of the times I will win with only one pump down so I don't usually go for two unless I really need it. I find myself having to really pump up against inferno decks or spawner decks.

If they are using a beat down deck, I will place a golem behind my tower when they place a giant, most of the time my defence (prince/megaminon or tombstone skeles) will win before they can take down half my golem. Once their giant is dead I'll have a golem along with support at which time I can poison/log/etc. If giant is at river, I will kite with tombstone and place a prince or mega minion on the support depending on what it is. Usually the prince or mega minion will mop that up and move to the giant. Once you build an elixir advantage build up a golem push without their giant on the field, if you can get a golem half way before you see any giant or support its over for their tower.

Against hog cycles I will make positive trades using tombstone, mega minion and log. Once I get an elixir advantage I will pump up when they aren't holding a hog. Once you've pumped up sufficiently and they aren't holding a hog, place your golem at the back and build your push.

Against inferno towers, once they show it begin playing defensive and pumping up heavily. Do not do any big push until double elixir with two pumps down. If you can make it to here, you should be able to cycle to two golems in one lane. Most of the time you will end up with two golemites, a minion behind them, then a golem behind that. Place another mega minion or a poison and you'll have a clear way to the tower.

I think that's all I got for now, I'll try to get some replays up to show it. Hopefully this helps anyone using golem or trying to push with it to legendary. Please ask any questions!

4 Reasons Why You Should Consider Getting a PlayStation VR

$

Virtual reality devices are here to stay it seems. With all three major VR headsets launched this year and with great reviews for every one of them, it looks like VR is not a gimmick after all. And this is what I hoped for. Motion technology always felt to me like a gimmick, but with virtual reality integration, it just feels right. The games are finally played in a completely different, yet meaningful and intuitive way. With my limited experience with all three VR devices, I must say that I am completely sold on the technology.

Now in the last couple of weeks, we saw a launch of PlayStation VR and many of us wondered if it would hold up with HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. We already knew that the specs are going to be a bit lower and this scared a lot of people. Because this is a brand new technology and we couldn’t know what impact would this make on a device`s functionality, people were skeptical. Luckily, when the first few reviews came in we saw that it wasn’t such a big difference and PlayStation is perfectly capable of running VR games.

PS VR came in with the stellar reviews. Some people call it the best VR headset available right now and with this, in mind, I decided to see what the fuss was really about. What PS VR really offers that his competitors don’t? Answering this question is how I came up with this list of four reasons PS VR is worth getting instead of other two VR headsets.

Best social experience

First of all, PS VR is easily the best social experience. Both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift require a beast computer to properly run. And where is our computer located? Usually in our bedroom or gaming room. These are not places you usually have your guests at. Additionally, Oculus Rift uses “room scale” technology that requires a whole separate room to operate optimally.

PS VR is hooked on your PlayStation that is in the living room hooked to your large TV screen. This is a perfect setup for experiencing VR with your friends and family. While one is having a headset on his head others can watch what he is experiencing on the TV screen. It’s easy to pass around the headset because there is no complicated wiring like on the HTC Vive. Also, most of the games are playable with the controllers from your couch so you don’t have to have a large room either.

The most comfortable headset

If you are in the market for VR headset you should know that the PS VR is by far the most comfortable of them all. This came as a surprise because it is the heaviest on the paper. But, PS VR`s design and shape are what makes it sit beautifully on your head.

I have tried all of them and I must say that this headset is the only one that doesn’t tire my head. Other ones have really tight straps that squeeze your head really hard and leave those weird outlines. PS VR`s design lets it just drop in front of your head and you can adjust how far and close the screens are to your face. Also, some of my friends with glasses, who tried PS VR, said that it really helped to be able to adjust the distance of the screens. On other headsets, their glasses would get in the way and they would have to take them off.

Possibly the best game launch line-up

The biggest problem with VR headsets as of now is the lack of games on every single one of them. Sure, developers promised us a bunch of them later down the line, but right now we are stuck with the short interactive experiences that have no replay value.

But PS VR has prepared some launch titles that are “real” games with proper mechanics and gameplay. One of the best I have tried is RIGS Mechanized Combat League. This game is a sheer fun and a proper representation of VR technology. In this game, you are controlling a mech and fight other players in three different modes. There is a wide variety of mechs that come with different weapons and playstyles. You can customize them fully with different stickers and paint jobs.

Another game that totally caught my attention is Battle Zone, a Tron-styled game in which you take a role of tank commander and battle against AI opponents in single or multiplayer. Customization in both Rigs and Battle Zone is amazing. You can get different tanks, weapons, etc. that really make a difference in the way you are playing the game.

Besides these two I was really pleased with Drive Club VR. It is a simple racing game, but in VR it goes to a whole other level. VR is ideal for racing games and we knew that since it was first announced, this game just proves it. You can level up and unlock a bunch of new cars and take them against other players online. It is a completely different feel than racing on the normal console. There are a bunch of mini games and experiences, but honestly, they are not worth mentioning because they don’t last long and usually require little to no gameplay. Sure, it feels amazing while you are in the headset, but once you finish them you won't be coming back to them again.

Lowest price of entry

The last thing that helps PS VR beat its competition is its low price of entry. PlayStation VR is the cheapest of the three major headsets with only $400 for the headset and $500 for a bundle that comes with PlayStation Move Controllers. I myself will be getting the bundle option. Even though right now a lot of games don’t require Move Controllers in the future that might change and frankly VR games are best played with them. You will get a complete immersion and experience if you just put additional $100.

That is it for my reasons why I will be getting a PS VR instead of HTC Vive or Oculus Rift. I realize that there are some problems with this VR headset, but to be honest other headsets have them too. If you are not sure about VR technology still or it is too expensive for you then don’t get PS VR. This is still a first generation product that has a lot of room for improvement. In the end, I would really like to know what are your thoughts on PS VR and other headsets? Are you sold on the VR technology as me? Please share your experiences with this tech in the comments I would love to read them and see where 2P community stands on this topic.
