Konami announced Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Links, the mobile card game based on popular anime, will be launched in 150 countries in mid-January. The game has succeeded in Japanese market with over 5 million downloads in one month. The game tops Japanese iOS and Android F2P game charts, according to the publisher.
 

 
Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Links is a licensed multiplayer mobile game features over 700 cards and real-time card battle involves summoning creatures, deploying traps, and casting spells. Every Final Fantasy thus far had its Cid and has always been portrayed as an elder male who was intelligent and wise, like some sort of Yodafrom Star Wars. But in the  newest Final Fantasy installment the developers surprised us all by presenting us Cindy or Cidney as she is called in the Japanese version. Cidney's sexiness was so off the charts when she was first presented that it forced the developers to tone her down her abit. They did that by reducing the jiggling of her breasts instead of giving her more clothes.Cidney is a mechanic who helps the party all along the game and while she doensn't look like it, she's more involved to the story than most people give her credit for.

Sea of Thieves: First Public Test Starts in December

Rare has announced the technical alpha for anticipated pirate MMORPG Sea of Thieves will start on December 16. The test will invite selected players from Insider Programme to help test the basics of the game. The test will be split into phases, and the first one will run from Dec. 16-18.
 

 
There will be an NDA for the test and if you are interested, you can sign up for the Insider Programme. Only 1000 players will be selected for the test, according to the developer.

My.com debuted their first virtual reality PC game VR Invaders, offering a visceral shooter experience in exceptional graphical detail.
 


As a story-driven game, VR Invaders takes place in the near future and thanks to global corporations, virtual reality programs offer the perfect distraction from life's hardships. To the delight of the corporations, some people spend almost all of their life logged into the VR programs.


However, not everyone stays logged in voluntarily. Sometimes a VR user can't disconnect because of a software bug or a virus. Corporations often hire freelance hackers called Divers to protect their profits and extract the "Stuck".​
 

Build on Unreal engine 4, VR Invaders puts the player in the role of a Diver. They are special members of a virtual reality rescue force that plunges into VR when dreams turn into nightmares. During a routine operation to rescue a "stuck" user, the player will have to fight back unexpected hordes of droids created by a vicious virus program.


Equipped with a blaster that has multiple firing modes and a time-bending energy shield, players can rush through a variety of levels with challenging bosses at the end of each level. Players will be able to use power ups to slow time or even equip dual blasters, which will significantly help in critical situations that are created by the virus program. 
 
The game will be released via Steam on December 15, supporting HTC Vive, Oculus Rift& Touch.

Report: CCP Games Is Looking for a Buyer

CCP Games, the Icelandic game developer and publisher, best known for producing EVE Online, may have a sale tag attached. Bloomberg reports that CCP is "exploring strategic options including a sale of the business after receiving interest from potential bidder".

EVE Online, the most important game developed by the Icelandic studio, was able to create a niche in the MMO space in its 13 years of experience. This sci-fi MMORPG went free-to-play last month, when the massive Ascension expansion went live. CCP Games is also an important investor in VR technology, with a massive investment of $30 million. EVE Valkyrie and EVE Gunjack are two of its most recent VR titles. According to Bloomberg's sources, the gaming company could sell for up to $955 million. Let's hope that a change of ownership, will not influence the direction of one of the most unique MMOs on the market.

You can swap between the 3 heroes, and you can give commands to the other 2 heroes in your squad that are controlled by AI. There are 16 heroes you can recruit in the game. International publisher Mobirix has confirmed that the game will be launched in January 2017.

Hey Guys! So here is anin depth guide on how to get from Arena 1 to Arena 7 in just two days using theSkeleton Army+ Mini P.E.K.A deck. The deck consists of;
 
Giant (Rare Card-Elixir 5)
Tombstone (Rare Card-Elixir 3)
Minions (Common Card-Elixir 3)
Skeleton Army (Epic Card-Elixir 3)
Spear Goblins (CommonCard- Elixir 2)
Mini P.E.K.A (Rare Card-Elixir 4)
Musketeer (Rare Card-Elixir 4)
Bomber (Common Card-Elixir 3)
 
This deck is apt forguiding you all the way to Arena 7 quickly if you play the cards rightly. This feat can be achieved in just a matter of two days or a couple of hours if you sit in one stretch.
 
 
STRATEGY
 
This is a deck which must be played carefully and with calculated precision in order to quickly move up the ladder. It focuses primarily on defensive measures while judiciously planning a controlled swarm offensive strike. One thing that must be kept inmind is that at all times during the game, the players must have enough elixirs in order to strengthen their defence. This is where this deck assumes great significance, its low average elixir count will ensure that you have enough at all times to hold your ground and at the same time to launch a destructive counter attack. An average elixir cost of 3.4 to 3.6 will help in achieving this.  What needs to be done in order to win is to efficiently hold your defences strongly until the enemy used his high elixir cards, once this is done a controlled swarm attack will help in achieving the desired result. Having knowledge of the elixir consumption for each card will come to be of great help while using this deck.
 
 
DEFENSIVE STRATEGY.
 
CARDS TO BE USED: TOMBSTONE, SKELETON ARMY, MUSKETEER, MINIONS, SPEAR GOBLINS, BOMBER.
POSSIBLE REPLACEMENTS:  ARCHERS, GOBLINS, GOBLIN HUT, MINION HORDE.
 
 
STRATEGY AND USE OF EACH CARD.
 
The above combination of cards is most suitable to ensure a solid defence for your towers. There are two ways in which one can play on the defensive front. The first one is to launch a quick attack at the enemy, destroy a tower and focus completely on defence. An alternative to this is to hold your ground for a while and then launch a quick counter attack once the enemy has used his cards to launch a heavy attack on your towers. The defence using this deck is fool proof until Arena 4 after which the defensive measures have to be used carefully, especially when playing in Arena 6. This will ensure that you get at least a one crown victory in everygame.
 
TOMBSTONETombstone assumes a pivotal role in defence. The main purpose of the tombstone is to ward off the attacks from the highly vulnerable cards like goblins, fire spirits and skeletons. It also ensures a quick attack if any barrel goblins are hurled at one of your towers by either distracting them long enough for the archers on the tower to attack or by destroying them. The tombstone plays another important role in the game; it keeps massive pressure on the enemy. However,the disadvantage of the tombstone is that it is susceptible to being destroyed when hit by a rocket. A possible replacement to the tombstone can be a goblin hut which would play the exact same role but at a higher elixir cost.
 
SKELETON ARMY:The skeleton army has a two-fold role in this deck. It acts as both an offensive aswell as a defensive card. One of the best things about this card is the low elixir cost of using it. The skeleton army should bear the huge burden of providing quick, efficient and strong defence against the highly destructive cards launched by the enemy. The army, even at the lower levels, can easily stop a Giant, Prince, P.E.K.K.A, Hog Rider, Golem and even the Giant skeleton.They can quickly destroy any of them and also provide for a quick counter attack in huge numbers even on the defensive line. Since the Skeleton Army can easily take out large targets quickly it is advised that they be used only once the enemy nears your tower. This is to ensure that they are not followed by the Valkyrie or Baby Dragon which can take out the skeletons leaving your tower open for an attack. The skeleton army can also take care of the Huts and canons set up by the enemy which will ensure that the offensive troops in the deck do not get distracted to these while playing your counter attack.
 
SPEAR GOBLINS: The main role of the Spear Goblins is to supplement the skeleton Army in a defensive strike against the offensive cards. The trio can ensure that there is sufficient damage inflicted on them. As mentioned earlier, if a Valkyrie is launched while a skeleton army is trying to defend then she can easily take them out. The Spear Goblins can act as shield to the army by attacking the Valkyrie or witch from long range. Another role assumed by them is to attack the aerial troops. It is extremely important to ward off any attacks launched by the aerial troops. The Spear Goblins can ensure that these troops like balloon, minions and even the baby dragon are taken care of.
 
MUSKETEERThe musketeer plays the role of removing the air troops like Minions and balloon. When the musketeer is used alongside the Spear goblins it can be said with confidence that no aerial attacks can come near the tower. In addition to this, the musketeers can cause serious damage to the enemy towers. This will weaken the enemy tower considerably making the job of counter attack easier and quicker.
 
MINIONSMinions provide quick aerial and ground defence at a low elixir cost. They can be used alongside spear Goblins or the musketeer to prevent any aerial attacks. In addition to this they can quickly do a lot of damage to ground troops like the Skeleton Army, Hog Rider, Witch and P.E.K.A which are difficult to attack directly. The Minions can also be used when launching your counter attack if there are no aerial troops to defend. The minion horde can also be used as a replacement to boost up the defence but it will increase the average elixir consumption.
 
BOMBER: The main role of the bomber is to attack the skeleton army and any other group attacks from goblins or Barbarians used by the enemy. They can do a lot of area Damage which will add up very well to the defensive squad of the deck.  
 
 
OFFENSIVESTRATEGY
STRATEGYAND USE OF EACH CARD.
 
CARDS TO BE USED: GIANT, SKELETON ARMY, MINI P.E.K.A.
POSSIBLE REPLACEMENTS: PRINCE, KNIGHT, HOG RIDER.
 
Attacking the enemy towers using this deck requires patience and must be a calculated move. As mentioned earlier, having knowledge of the elixir consumption of each card will give you an upper hand over your enemy. It must be kept in mind that even while going on the offensive there must be enough elixir in order to bring up a defence quickly if the need arises, therefore it is vital to keep building upelixir. Before attacking the enemy it must be ensured that the enemy does not have enough elixir to bring up a defensive card against you. Thus, the best time to launch a counter attack using this deck is when the enemy has used up high costing elixirs. Careful observation must be made regarding the lane in which the enemy has set up his defence. The ideal place to counter attack is the same lane in which the enemies attack was defended. This is because the enemy’s high elixir cards have been used up and is not in a position to set up a solid defence. In addition to this, the defending troops can also charge forward along with your offensive troops leaving the enemy clueless as to what hit him. Alternatively, if the enemy keeps pressure by attacking only on one side continuously it is best to hold your ground until the final minute of the game and then launch a counter attack on the other lane using either the skeleton Army or the Mini P.E.K.A as they can move quickly and do a lot of damage. Using this method will ensure at least a one crown victory in every game. This will help in collecting trophies quickly helping the player move across different arena’s quickly.
 
GIANT:The Giant plays an important role in the offensive strike against the enemy. It is ideal to use the Giant once the skeleton army or Minions of the enemy have been destroyed as these are the only ones who can quickly destroy the Giant. One of the important things to be kept in mind before using the giant is to ensure that there is enough elixirs to launch a backup troop along with him. This can even be a set of spear goblins to ward off a Bomber from the giants path. Even if the giant can’t destroy a tower, he can easily ensure that the structural integrity of the enemy tower is heavily compromised leaving it open to a quick attack from aswarm of skeletons or Mini P.E.K.A.
 
MINIP.E.K.ATheMini P.E.K.A is a low elixir costing ramming machine which can easily take out a level six tower in three hits. It can even withstand small attacks which makes it the most apt counter attacking machine in this deck. Use the MiniP.E.K.A once the defensive task has begun. Do not attack the enemy until the defence troops have been deployed. The enemy usually uses up all his elixirs in the last minute to launch a full scale attack against your tower, (this can be inferred from the number of troops that have been sent or if it’s a highly destructive card. This can be used in order to assess the elixir consumption if one is not aware of how much each card requires) once the low elixir cards havebeen used up to set up a defence, launch a counter attack on the other lane  using a Mini P.E.K.A. The fast pace and the powerful attacks can easily destroy the tower. The task becomes quicker if you have enough elixir to launch a skeleton army along with him. An alternative to the Mini P.E.K.A can be the Prince but it comes at a higher elixir cost.
 
SKELETON ARMY:As stated earlier, the skeleton army plays a twofold role in this deck. On the offensive front, if used properly, they can ensure victory by quickly destroying the towers. They can be used in two ways. They turn from defensiveto offensive once the high enemy card is destroyed. They can be supplemented with the Mini P.E.K.A or Minions to quickly disable a tower. Alternatively, if played carefully they can easily take out a tower in the final minutes of a game ensuring that the opponent has no way for a comeback. It is ideal to launch a skeleton Army on offence on the undefended lane once it is ensured that the enemy’s Valkyrie or Minions have been taken care of. This will ensure that they get to the tower and quickly destroy it.
 
ADVANTAGES OF THE DECK.
1) Low average elixir consumption.
2) Small and efficient troops for defence,
3) Quick counter attack options.
4) Provides both aerial and ground defence at low elixir cost.
5) Provides to launch counter attack and defend at the same time.
6) Ensures that you can easily collect trophies to quickly move across arenas.
DISADVANTAGESOF THE DECK.
1) Cannot launch a full scale attack as the deck is a highly defensive one.
2) Cannot set up two or more buildings to constantly pressurize the enemy.
3) Counter attack options will be limited if defence fails.

Peria Chronicles: New Interview Tells Everything You Want to Know - Part 1

Back in November Thingsoft presented a playable demo at G-STAR 2016, allowing players to try the remake version of Peria Chronicles. It was a very raw demo that included terrain editing and combat, and it got mixed reactions. To address the community concern, the developer team did an interview with Korean media Thisisgame. Below is the translation of the interview.


 
Any community feedback of the G-STAR demo impressed you?
We didn't want feedback and comments like "good, great", and instead, we needed actual impressions after playing our demo. We heard comments like "with the combat system, my character didn't have too much freedom, it's not good." "How are we supposed to play with other players in this way?" We loved to see both negative and positive comments that players made after they played the demo.
 
We were worried about combining TCG style combat with player-created content inside our team. The reaction at G-STAR showed this combination was possible.
 
However, players who never played anything like that before still felt lost.
That's right. People thought the game was like Mabinogi after they saw the gameplay video but felt disappointed after playing the demo. The game is never advertised as an action game and the actual combat gameplay does disappoint people who expect Mabinogi style combat.
 
People mentioned the issue of optimization. We tried our best to attend G-STAR in order to tell the world that we were still developing the game, so we didn't have much time to optimize the demo.
 
There were also concerns on the progress of the game development.
Indeed, the game is still in very early phase and we hear feedback about the incompletion of the demo. People may feel weird when they see the character creation UI. The fact is the UI can be created by players themselves, including buttons and different types of windows which were composed of props.
 
Mobs in the game drop these props and players can collect these props to design their own UI. The G-STAR demo's UI wasn't created by our artists but built with the props in the game. That's why it looked strange to players.
 
That means the demo's UI isn't created by the developers?
Players can trade props and UI in the game, and some players can design beautiful UI while others can't. That's why players will have such confusion.
 
It seems that players can access to a lot of content which is beyond our expectation.
Peria Chronicles encourages players to create content, with a large part of content developed to allow players to learn to create things. The G-STAR demo which offered 20 minutes of gameplay didn't really show what the game is about.
 
G-STAR 2016 allowed us to show the terrain modification tool and combat system earlier. We wanted to get feedback and will make changes to the content if players said that's not right. TCG combat is played in real-time and players can walk into it anytime.
 
First time hear of we can edit the combat. So basically the game content is composed of player-created content?
This game is not focusing on combat and it's not easy thing to learn to create. Even the developers in our team made mistakes when they tried to build something. Even the fastest learners need 2-3 days to create something from the scratch. It's impossible to learn everything in a 20 minutes demo.
 
Peria Chronicles' instances are built by players as well. We hope players can create interesting instances. The instance in the G-STAR demo was a prototype. It looked no different to other MMOs' instances but its traps and mobs were actually from the props in the game. We offered every possible thing to players and see what instances they can make.
 
The G-STAR demo was more like a preview of what the future instances could look like?
Yes. How a door opens and closes, and how mobs appear are all created using the props and the tools. I'd like to clarify that the instance in that demo had a logical mistake and a door wouldn't open. Our staff had to help players to get through it via the demo's console.
 
About the future of the game, we want to know how the game will evolve. Because many players saw this game as Mabinogi 2, and is Peria Chronicles going to be like Mabinogi that gets new features regularly, or is it focuses on adding new stories?
It's an honor our game is compared with Mabinogi. In fact, Peria Chronicles is a very different game, and if players expect this game to be Mabinogi 2, they may be disappointed. If we have to find a game that's similar to Peria Chronicles, probably we will say Minecraft. Our goal is to allow players to constantly build the game rules and system to replace the old ones.
 
Then the game will have to implement social system, isn't it too complicated to players? 
We planned to separate the economy, politics, and creating parts at the beginning, but as we simplified the creation logics, we believed it's easier for players to learn how to create and build in the game now.
 
The G-STAR demo had a mission that required players to control the panel in the instance to open a door. As long as the logic is right, the door can be opened. What is creation logic? A simple example is if you want to build a village that disallows smoking, you have 2 logical options: create a law to punish smoking or simply make smoking disable.
 
If you choose the former option, you have to use props work like CCTV to catch the smokers and then use props that can fine or expel the smokers. If you take the alternative option, you will use a non-smoking sign that comes with a command "disable smoking within a X meters radius". This will make smoking impossible.
 
Of course we don't have the behavior of smoking in the game, but we have similar things. Our G-STAR demo allows players to implement logics like disable PK, no communication with NPCs, and disable repairing villages, etc.
 
How do we use these props and logics to create a village's economy and politics? 

First players have to build a village on a plot of land. That involves modifying terrains (flat land will make your village easy to break into), preparing for materials to build houses and facilities, and determining the rules of the village's economy, politics, and NPC behaviors.
 
Say you want to build a village that disallows any form of fight, you have to use the no-PK sign, or you want to charge taxes, you will use another sign. Minecraft allows you to make your own rules, and Peria Chronicles allows you to make your own systems.
 
Can I say the game will become more completed gradually?
We want players to take the time from simple to complication. Go back to the logic of "no-PK in the village", you can actually add another logic such as "PK is allowed for level 20+ players." We will do a lot of experiments to design a manual for players to use logics. We will offer preset logics so players know they have these options and they can make changes to the logics. For instance, a preset logic for charging taxes can be modified or improved. You can decide whether the taxes go to the village's storage or go straight into your own pocket, and you can charge specific amount of taxes to specific behaviors of the visitors.
  
I can't imagine how many props the game will have if everything is composed of it.
We try to simplify the logics and allow combining multiple props to work as a new prop. Players will need some program knowledge to write logics and it's fine if they don't know any. They can combine different props together to get what they want. We will monitor players behaviors in the game and if we find many players combine the similar props to make another prop or achieve a new logic, we'll add that prop or a preset logic to the game.

Looks like if a player invests enough time to the creation, they can play more contents.
We do have blueprints to tell players how to create things and what materials they need. So even a player doesn't know how to write the logic for the No-PK sign, they can purchase the blueprint for the No-PK sign and all they need to do is gathering necessary materials. Whether you can use props created by other players is still in discussion. Directly download other players creation is a easy solution but what want it happens in the game.
 
Would the in-game chat channel be full of contents like "where to purchase no-smoking sign?"
Right. Can't help to imagine how fun it would be. 

Peria Chronicles is an MMORPG and in the game if a group of powerful players gang together there could be problems. How do you balance it?
Once a player learns how to create content or become a "game developer", the concern of "power" pops up. From setting a sign to modify the terrains, it's an act of playing god. We thought this through before we started making the game. In fact, it's impossible to build a village by one man. You can't play god without the materials needed to build the village. Let's say to produce a unit of material (the material is a general concept), it takes 10 minutes. To set up a sign or get a plot of land, it requires 100 units of materials, and if it's produced by one man, it will take over 10 hours.
 
One man doesn't have enough materials to build and manage a village but a large group has. Whether a single person or a community wants to manage a village, they have to rely on materials from the mass.
 
So if there is a mean player tries to use his power to do bad things, the mass won't let him access to their materials and that bad player won't be able to do too many things.

7 Titles To Look Forward To In 2017 And Beyond

We all expected a lot out of the MMO market for 2016, but save from a few interesting like Blade & Soul, Black Desert Online and Ark Survival Evolved (in the multiplayer category), this year was somewhat stale. Thankfully, 2017 already promises to be far more interesting with a number of titles to be released, or at least be playable. Here are 7 titles to look forward to in 2017 and beyond.
 

Camelot Unchained

Designed and produced by Mark Jacobs, who we shouldn’t need to introduce anymore, Camelot Unchained aims to be a MMO firmly focused on clashes between players. The RvR (Realm vs Realm) and PvP (Player vs Player) are not intended to be the "end-game" of Camelot Unchained, but rather be the essence of the game. And while there will be PvE content, it will only be here for players to learn and master their skills.
 

Designed to be a niche game (the developer’s goal is 30,000 subscribers), Camelot Unchained claims to offer a challenge and a level of difficulty that has disappeared from recent MMOs.


Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen

Presented as an "old school" MMO, based on the foundations of classic PvE, Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen was brought to life by Brad McQuaid (EverQuest, Vanguard) in his new development studio, Visionary Realms.
 

The game intends to address MMO players from the older generation (a niche target) by proposing a high level of difficulty and articulating its gameplay around the interaction between players, the exploration of a vast open world, and mechanics encouraging group play (through highly specialized character classes that will need to unite with other archetypes to develop synergies).


Identity

Developed by Asylum Entertainment, Identity is a modern-day open-world MMORPG based on a complete freedom and a player interactions. Advertised as “a new breed of massively multiplayer online role-playing game”, Identity allows players to live however they wish in the game, be it as an honest civilian, a criminal, a police officer, a paramedic, and so on.
 

Identity has no notion of skills and levels, instead being based on concepts of talent and perk progression. You can even spend your time in the game casually, playing quick games of paintball or bowling with friends.


Trials of Ascension: Exile

Not technically a MMO, Trials of Ascension is advertise by it's a developers as a game that allows players to host their own multi-player fantasy sandbox game. Players can indeed create their own islands, and invite up to 64 players to join them on their adventure with their own rules and difficulty settings.

Probably the most interesting feature is that players can choose to progress as humans, dragons, or spider-like creatures known as Raknars. Humans can count on their ingenuity and crafts to keep them alive, while Raknars, on the other hand, will depend on their natural skills as predators. Finally, Dragons will be the most challenging race, only being able to grow stronger by surviving long enough to grow bigger. This allows for a lot of options regarding the survival, exploration and combat aspects of the game.
 
Revelation Online

Officially unveiled as part of the G-Star 2013, Revelation Online intends to immerse the player in the heart of the main fantasy principles of the Orient. The game aims to be a major project based on detailed graphics and relying mainly on action gameplay without targeting.
 

The gameplay of Revelation Online is based on the exploration and freedom, thus abandoning a linear progression. The players will be immersed in a massive multiplayer adventure through which they will discover the secrets of Nuanor, and be allowed to roam as they pleases with their wings.


Crowfall

First game of the Artcraft Studio Entertainment, Crowfall offers an open gameplay based on player interaction. This MMO intends to focus on the politics, alliances and a feudal conquest system. According to the developer, the game is not intended for everyone, but rather for players seeking an immersive and more visceral experience.
 

The MMO will contain five systems of worlds, known as campaigns, each world will having its own set of rule and victory conditions. Once the conditions are met, a winner will be proclaimed, and the world destroyed before a new one is created. The economy will be managed by players, which will allow them to create their own currency driven empires.


Chronicles of Elyria

And finally, probably the most awaited games for the next year(s), Chronicles of Elyria. Characters age and die in CoE, a feature that is meant to have players think beyond their characters, and instead consider their impact on the world and its history. Everything you do in Chronicles of Elyria is meant to make your next life easier and more fulfilling.
 

Add to that a family based community with a reputation system, player managed quests, a fully skill-based character development and a number of dynamic events meant to challenge the players’ ability at survival, commerce or politics, and you get one of the most promising games of the last decade.

Mobile Survival Game BTOOOM! Online (JP) Beta Test Announced

Asobimo announced that the limited beta test for their authentic 3D fighting mobile game BTOOOM! Online will be available from December 21 to December 27 for Android users.


This game introduced a new game genre called “Stealth Bomber Action” (SBA), which is a system that allows players to use various BIMs. Based on the popular anime and manga BTOOOM!, players will be able to compete with the characters from the series and enjoy fear and tension of the battle for your life and death.
