After gathering much attention with their character customization video, Black Desert Mobile  just released a video showing combat gameplay.

On the 14th, Pearl Abyss, the Black Desert Mobile developer, revealed the combat videos for each character on their teaser site.

The video includes actual combat gameplay scenes for the Warrior, Ranger, Giant, Witch, and Valkyrie, which are five basic classes released when Black Desert Mobile launches. This makes it possible to guess the special characteristics of each class.

In addition, the unique exciting action and surreal battles from the “Black Desert” can now be experienced in the palm of your hand. The combat effects from using powerful skills really help users engage with the game.

“We are excited by the reactions we got from everyone when we released the customization video last week,” said Young-chul Ham, Pearl Abyss’ Strategic Planning Director. “We will try our best to quell your curiosity at the ‘Media Showcase’ next week when we reveal more content and future service plans to everyone.”

Black Desert Mobile will hold a media showcase on the 23rd and start pre-registrations in Korea. Instructions on how to pre-register and the trailers can be found on the Black Desert Mobile teaser site (https://www.blackdesertm.com/ ).

Rules of Survival, a battle royale game on mobile developed by NetEase Game, began open beta test for its global version today. It is now availble on App Store worldwide. The game was first released in China and went viral in its domestic gaming market immediately. Rules of Survival soared to the top of game app rankings following release, drawing the attention of a large number of Battle Royale fans, and bringing countless other mobile gamers their first experience of the thrill and fear of gameplay in which "only the last one survives".

Some had doubts if games modeled after Battle Royale would successfully make the leap onto mobile devices. Rules of Survival may have answered that question. The game creates a vast and deserted arena that can simultaneously accommodate up to 120 gamers. Dropped onto a huge deserted island, players should find resources at abandoned sites, arm themselves, and hunt to kill or become victim to another player.

Rules of Survival also does a wonderful job of smoothing out operation issues that have long plagued mobile shooter games. The brand new gaming interface design allows gamers to easily toggle between guns and postures. A gamer is able to freely aim and shoot, and can easily flee and hide.

The original company's newly-optimized engine renders the game's diverse flora and terrain in stunning detail. There are no rules to survival. Players might snipe from their hilltop perch over a kilometer away, crawl in the grass and stage an ambush or use the map to roam the battlefield as a ghost.

The game also enables gamers to control a plethora of vehicles that feature optimized driving experience. Terrain impacts each ride's speed, gas consumption, and bumpiness. Searching for and becoming familiarized with one type of vehicle is the secret to survival for many gamers.

Rules of Survival supports single-player mode and teams of up to 4 players. The international version that just hit the shelves has introduced a variety of new improvements.

You pick up the AKM on top of the gas can near beside two parachute drops near the abandoned warehouse and listen closely for another gamer's footsteps. A shot is fired, and from the corner you send him a gift from Death. You wriggle your fingers with the phone in your hand. One down, 118 more to go.

An in-your-pocket Hunger Games, a life and death struggle at your fingertips. Become the next the King of the Kill on the toilet, the last survivor on the couch.

PUBG Developer Bluehole Announces Steampunk MMO 'Ascent: Infinite Realm'

0
0
Bluehole, the developer behind the massively popular battle royale game "Player Unknown's Battlegrounds," has unveiled their newest title. Dubbed "Ascent: Infinite Realm," the upcoming MMO (massively multiplayer online) game features a mix of steampunk and sorcery and it looks pretty intense.

The South Korean developer recently released a five-minute trailer for the game, which they abbreviated to "A: IR," featuring massive airships, mechs, and flying mounts. However, this only scratched the surface of the upcoming MMO.

"Ascent: Infinite Realm" takes place in a high fantasy steampunk world where machines and magic rule and everyone is dependent on flight to explore, travel, and conquer," Bluehole said. "In search of a new home, adventurers take to the skies using a wide selection of airships, vehicles, and flying mounts to traverse A:IR's open, highly vertical world."

Gameplay mostly involves realm-versus-realm aerial combat and, from the looks of the extensive trailer, some form of player-generated housing. It's definitely an ambitious title incorporating many elements of games like EVE Online, Skyrim, and yes, even Mario Kart.

Unfortunately, the game's massive scale seems to be a double-edged sword as the trailer definitely has so much going on it's definitely hard to keep track. Many Youtube commenters also noticed and are fixated on the trailer's low framerate and are skittish if this will be carried over to the final game.

"Ascent: Infinite Realm" is still in development, however, giving Bluehole plenty of time to address these issues. It's also important to note that the game is being developed by a separate team from "Player Unknown's Battlegrounds" which was spun off into its own stand-alone company in September.

The battle royale title, which recently broke 20 million players, recently launched its highly anticipated 1.0 update on test servers. The main feature of the update will be the vaulting and climbing mechanic, which will allow players to jump over walls and climb through windows as well as hop on top of certain parts of the environment.

0
Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) and Lucasfilm Ltd., released one of the year’s most highly-anticipated games, Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II. Winner of the Game Critics Award for Best Online Multiplayer at E3 2017, DICE, Motive Studios and Criterion Games joined forces to create one of the most robust Star Wars™ gaming experiences to date. Fans can immerse themselves in a game that’s over three times the size of its predecessor with more heroes, locations and vehicles from every cinematic era, deeper customization, progression, and enhanced space battles. Star Wars Battlefront II allows players to live out their own Star Wars fantasies as a trooper on the ground, an ace pilot dogfighting in space, and an epic hero dominating the battlefront. In the all-new single player campaign, players will experience a previously untold Star Wars story from the unique perspective of Iden Versio, leader of the Imperial special forces unit, Inferno Squad.

“With Star Wars Battlefront II, we wanted to pay homage to the legacy of the Star Wars franchise and recognize how much each era has meant to so many people,” said Matt Webster, Executive Producer of Star Wars Battlefront II. “We built the game based upon what fans loved about the first game and feedback of what they wanted more of, including adding a single-player story, experiencing the ultimate Star Wars battleground across all cinematic eras, and shifting to an event and narrative driven live service that keeps the community together.”

Star Wars Battlefront II allows fans to play as and against Star Wars’ most feared villains and cherished heroes in DICE’s rich multiplayer experience, including Darth Maul, Rey, Yoda, and joining this December, Finn and Captain Phasma. There’s something for everyone in six different multiplayer modes: Starfighter Assault, Galactic Assault, Strike, Blast, Heroes vs. Villains, and Arcade. High in variety and breadth, Galactic Assault allows up to 40 players to step into battle as one of four distinct classes with a massive array of vehicles and customizable weapons in new in-game locations including Yavin 4’s jungle canopies, Kamino's cloning facilities, and Kashyyyk's Wookiee filled forests. Space combat has been designed from the ground up and brought to life by the legendary Criterion Games in Starfighter Assault, featuring distinct handling, weapons, and customization options through Star Cards. Players can immerse themselves in thrilling, multi-stage battles in space and choose from three unique starfighter classes and iconic hero ships including Darth Maul's Scimitar and Poe Dameron's T-70 X-wing. In Arcade, fans can jump into offline single-player or on consoles, split-screen couch co-op, allowing them to take on AI enemies and hone their skills across a variety of scenarios.

New to Star Wars Battlefront II is a carefully crafted and authentic Star Warsstory developed by Motive Studios in partnership with Lucasfilm. The campaign helps to tell the story of what happened in the empire after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi from the perspective of an all new hero, Iden Versio, leader of Inferno Squad. In addition to exploring iconic locations from the films, players will be introduced to new ones including the coral planet of Pillio and Iden’s home planet of Vardos.

“With Star Wars Battlefront II, the teams have brought to life a period of Star Wars that hasn’t previously been explored in the films”, said Steve Blank, Creative Executive, Lucasfilm Story Group. “We’ve worked diligently to craft a compelling story of what it’s like to view a familiar conflict from a very different perspective by allowing players to experience the Battle of Endor and destruction of the second Death Star as an Imperial.”

Following the launch of the game, all players who own Star Wars Battlefront II will be able to experience free themed seasons that can include a mix of new locations, characters, challenges, live events, rewards and more in a world that's constantly growing with the community. The first season, Star Wars Battlefront II The Last Jedi, inspired by the upcoming film, Star Wars™: The Last Jedi™, will start on December 5th when players can choose to align with the First Order or fight for the resistance. Then on December 13th, things will kick into high gear when fans will get  access to Finn and Captain Phasma as playable characters, the new planet Crait, a new space location in D’Qar, daily and weekly challenges and rewards. Players can also continue their journey as Iden Versio in Star WarsBattlefront II Resurrection, a new chapter in the single-player campaign.

NCsoft will shut down Master X Master just months after launch

Just months after its launch, the "heartbroken" team behind NCsoft's MOBA Master X Master has announced that the game will go offline on January 31, 2018.

The game, which only launched in June this year, hoped to position itself against genre giants League of Legends and Dota 2 but "wasn't enough to take on the established juggernauts".

In a statement, NCsoft thanked the MXM community for its support and laid out the what was next for the game.

"Deciding to close the game is not a decision we come to lightly, but ultimately it came down to a matter of business - we explored several options, but none of them were sustainable," said the developer.

"We truly believe that MXM is special, and offered a lot of new ideas to change up the MOBA genre, but in trying to carve out a niche for itself, we failed to connect with players."

Until the game goes offline in a few months, players will be able to unlock all in-game content for free, real money purchases on the MXM Store will be permanently disabled, and refunds will be issued on any purchases made between August 30 and November 16.

After more than a decade after its launch, Titan Quest recently received a new expansion. This new content came as a surprise, without any prior announcement, and is currently available on Steam.

This new expansion pack, titled Ragnarök, brings Norse mythology to the action RPG. It features an entirely new playable act and dozens of quests. It also introduces new bosses, enemies, and an additional Rumemaster mastery. The level cap has also been increased to 85. More changes and refinements come to character customization as well, with new shaders, effects, and ragdoll physics.

THQ Nordic acquired the game from developer Iron Lore Entertainment four years ago. "Since the day we acquired the franchise in 2013, we've been toying around with ideas on what's best for Titan Quest," executive producer Reinhard Pollice told PC Gamer. "We were quickly motivated to do another expansion as we realized Titan Quest is still actively played."

To play the Ragnarök expansion, you have to first own the Titan Quest Anniversary Edition, which is available on Steam. The original boxed version is not compatible.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR: a Fresh,Flawed Perspective of a 6-year-old Title

0
0

This year, Bethesda has launched two new versions of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim — one for Nintendo’s hybrid console, the Nintendo Switch, as well as a VR port for the PlayStation 4. On top of that, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR also serves as the first of three VR titles released by Bethesda this year (with the other two being DOOM VFR and Fallout 4 VR), and thankfully this version offers an original take on this six-year-old title.

“From the moment I put my PlayStation VR headset on, I knew that my journey back into Skyrim would be different this time around.”

From the moment I put my PlayStation VR headset on, I knew that my journey back into Skyrim would be different this time around. Whether you are looking at the sky, feeling the tension as you approach a giant to witnessing the fiery flames of a dragon coming towards you; The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR offers the most immersive experience for this title.

That’s not to say that you will be immersed the whole time. Skyrim, in any iteration, has always dipped its foot heavily on the wrong side of the uncanny valley. The immersion can break after long hours of play due to the outdated visuals of the Creation engine; most notably when you are approaching NPCs, which are sporting ugly character models making it unappealing on the eyes.

What rubs me the wrong way the most, is the fact that Skyrim VR looks like all the assets were taken from the original versions instead of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition re-release last year for PS4 and Xbox One. Considering that this game had more time than the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions (which were released over a year ago I might add), it feels strange not adding a bit more polish to the in-game visuals, but the in-game world is impressive. In fact, it offers one of the most significant open environments in any VR game, especially when you factor in that the game includes the base game as well as all the post-launch content it is one of the beefiest VR games on the market.

Back in 2011 when I played Skyrim for the first time, I found myself being a complete douchebag to the NPCs – ranging from killing villagers and attacking livestock just for fun. However, during my return to the game in the form of virtual reality I felt more immersed in the game, video games are supposed to make you feel as if you are there, VR or not. But, there is something about playing Skyrim VR that made me feel more like I was a character in the game, you can argue it as being a minor detail, but it impacted my playstyle from the very beginning.

Despite the in-game assets not getting much attention, the game’s combat controls have been redefined to accommodate those who want to play with the PlayStation Move controllers. Despite the funny-looking appearance, using one and two-handed melee weapons feels a lot more fluid and precise than a controller, I felt like a knight when I was swinging my sword around and holding a shield to block enemy attacks. Nevertheless, the option to play with a DualShock 4 is still available with the controls working just like the original PlayStation 4 version, minus the camera movement, which is done using the PSVR and rick analog stick.

Aside from using swords, axes and other melee weapons, the PlayStation Move controllers also provide more flow when using magic; each hand will allow you to equip a spell and you can aim your spells on enemies by holding your hand, kinda like a magician. Using bows in Skyrim is just as fun as ever before and personally, I think is the best part of the game regarding combat.

“…I felt like a knight when I was swinging my sword around and holding a shield to block enemy attacks.”

By using both PlayStation Move controllers, you can pull back your bow and aim it as if you are using the real bow; many VR titles try to use the system’s controllers to mimic weapons like guns, but often fail and feel a bit awkward. However, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR‘s arrow mechanics are the most precise I have seen in any VR game I have played. Nonetheless, combat overall feels clunky on a horse when using motion controls, mainly having to force you to make a complete stop before you can make an accurate shot.

Combat overall has been a fun experience, although it can be a bit of a pain in the ass having to swap out my weapons thanks to a reinvention of the in-game menu — a change that breaks the pacing and screws you in tight battle situations. It doesn’t help the fact that the PlayStation Move controllers do not have a joystick or a d-pad to help you navigate a bit quicker.

When it comes to the DualShock 4 and PlayStation Move controllers, both have pros and cons that will depend on personal preference, but just be wary of what you will compromise when selecting your controller. Most people would say “play for several hours and you will get used to the controls,” but I believe games should have that “pick up and play” mentality.” Having to learn and memorize certain gameplay elements can be tedious for a game so familiar to most gamers.

“The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR is a great game and, while the base game was never made with virtual reality in mind, Bethesda did a terrific job porting it to the nascent medium.”

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR also offers teleporting and free locomotion; while both options will get the job done, the recommended option is to use open movement, for comfort purposes. Keep in mind that you may experience nausea, although during my time I did not experience that feeling. However, it does depend on the person — free movement in VR is not for everyone, but it indeed offers a more immersive experience overall.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR is a great game and, while the base game was never made with virtual reality in mind, Bethesda did a terrific job porting it to the nascent medium. Despite outdated visuals and imperfect controls, it is one of the best VR titles I have played in recent years and offers a lot for its current purchase price. That being said, I cannot recommend this game everyone — if you do not like motion controls in VR, you may be better off grabbing the Special Edition.

You Can Finally Reel In Monster Of The Deep: Final Fantasy XV On PSVR

0
0

It is finally time for us to pick up our fishing poles and head out with Noctis and pals to go do some fishing in VR, because that is what we’ve been waiting for. Let’s just admit that this bit of fanservice is so well timed, we can’t even be a little mad about it. The game is nothing if not perfectly marketed, as it feeds into our need for wish fulfillment. Monster of the Deep exists for no other reason than to let you hag out with your favorite boy band, reel in a few fish, and then sit back around an open fire and crack open a nice cold drink. It feeds into a player’s need to immerse themselves fully into a game in one of the most simple ways.

Now we aren’t playing as Noctis to hang with the group, we get to be ourselves hanging with the boys. Doing all the fun stuff with the boys and ignoring the pesky finale of the game with it’s silly thing like destinies, lack of choices, and (Spoilers for a year old game inbound) the possible deaths of your best friends which are never confirmed but heavily implied.

Instead, in Monster of the Deep we get to live in a fantasy world where Final Fantasy XV is beautiful and nothing hurts.

And hey, you get to reel in some legendary sea beasts and take photos of yourself in the PSVR’s headgear along the way. Honestly, this game is just so well planned, I don’t see it doing anything but making VR less of a fringe gamer trend and more of a staple product. Which is pretty fabulous, all told.

But if you wanted a more PR-friendly pitch for the game, here is the official description of Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV:

The ever-expanding Final Fantasy XV Universe casts its line into the world of virtual reality with today’s release of Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV, a brand-new VR experience for PlayStation®VR system. Based on the mini-game from Final Fantasy XV, this new game invites players to head out on an angling expedition with crown prince Noctis, his companions Ignis, Prompto and Gladio and other familiar faces across picturesque locales.

Players can put their fishing skills to the test in Story Mode, which places them in the middle of an exhilarating, action-packed showdown with a menace lurking in the depths, or take in the sights, sounds and scenery of Eos through a variety of challenges in Free Fishing mode. With 13 different rods to use, 61 lures to choose from and over 100 varieties of fish to catch, players can look forward to a gratifying journey ahead to becoming Eos’ greatest Lord of the Lures.

The game’s launch trailer is below.

Ubisoft And Triotech Working On Assassin’s Creed VR Experience

0

Ubisoft has previously revealed its work in virtual reality (VR) with the demonstration of its Rabbids Virtual Reality Ride, now the company has teamed up with interactive entertainment company Triotech to create a VR experience based on the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Assassin’s Creed is one of Ubisoft’s biggest and most popular franchises, with ten games in the main series, numerous spin-offs and a movie adaptation. The series focusses on exploration and adventure in highly detailed historical settings. Triotech, a company known for creating immersive digital attractions, will be incorporating content supplied by Ubisoft into a VR experience.

The Assassin’s Creed experience will be installed at the Ubisoft Center in Pointe-Claire, Montreal, Canada. Visitors to the Center will use VR to immerse themselves in the world of Assassin’s Creed in a set up that uses the vast settings Ubisoft is famous for, while taking up a small footprint of as little at 10 square feet.

“We have watched the evolution of Virtual Reality technology closely over the last few years,” said Ernest Yale, founder, President & CEO of Triotech. “We feel that with this solution we have a strong offering to the market when considering both the content and the technology but most importantly, the guest experience.”

“This partnership is part of Ubisoft’s strategy to open new doors to our rich video game worlds such as Rabbids and Assassin’s Creed, enabling us to create immersive experiences for our fans while reaching out to new audiences”, said Deborah Papiernik, Senior Vice President, New Business of Ubisoft.

Ubisoft’s ventures into the world of location-based entertainment is part of a wider strategy to diversify into other areas of entertainment and take advantage of new emerging technologies.

“Ubisoft has been looking closely at opportunities specific to the location-based entertainment market,” says Jean de Rivières, Ubisoft’s Senior Vice President, “The company realized that VRcades consumers were eager for an arcade twist to their experience. That could be a simulator, mixed reality, or multiplayer features. Therefore, our teams developed the Rabbids VR Ride. This has a motion simulator that creates real sensations of acceleration, flight, fear of heights, etc. Of course, this has brought plenty of exciting challenges to our in-house developers – and, equally, opportunities to learn. How to handle 360° perspectives or craft VR narratives are among them.”

Warspear Online Released On Steam

It’s always interesting to see video games start on one platform, and then grow to another, and another. Such is the case with Warspear Online, a 2D MMORPG that was created back in 2008 for mobile platforms. Then, it made a transition to PC and Mac. And now, it has officially made its way to Steam. The intent of this, as explained by developer AIGRIND in a press release, was so that more and more players can enjoy the game, all while doing it on a platform they trust. Plus, it has some special Steam features.

So, what makes Warspear Online so special? Well, besides the fact that it looks like early generation RPG (and we mean that in a good way), the way the world is setup is somewhat unique. For in this game, there are two major groups (comprised of two factions a piece) that are trying to fight their way to supremacy and lead the world into the future, with them on top of course.

From the very start, you’ll have to choose which side you’re on. You can be on the Firstborn, Chosen, the Mountain Clans or the Forsaken. Each one having a different history, abilities, and skills you’ll get to learn as you play on. Then, you’re off into the world to try and win honor and glory for your clan. Oh, and save the world if you want.

Warspear Online also features a large-scale PVP function. The game lets you battle all over the world, but then takes it to new heights when the clans go to battle! You can try and take castles, or, be on the other end and defend them from invaders. Hundreds of players can get in on this, making this PVP something truly cool.

Add that to a vast storyline, plenty of quests, and almost limitless ways to customize your character and you’ll see just what makes this game so popular.

The holidays have begun, and with them, comes the chance for many games to celebrate, have fun, add new content, and the arguably best part, offer deals to its players. Well, for Elder Scrolls Online, the MMORPG wants to show this in grand fashion. So, they’ve already begun their sales season via the return of Black Fredas. This special promotion is already going on right now, and if you hurry, you’ll be able to get some real cool stuff, all for a great deal.

How so? Well, you can get the standard Elder Scrolls Online, or the Gold Edition of the game, or the Morrowind expansion for a 50% discount…a piece! So if you need/want one, or two, you can get them for much cheaper. However, as the Steam page notes, the deal for this will end at different times based on what system you’re on. So be sure to check it out to make sure you don’t miss out!

But wait! That’s not the only cool deal you can get here! For, if you own Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind, or, purchase Morrowind before the 26th ends, you’ll get absolutely free a Nix-Ox mount! Perfect to traverse the wonders Vvardenfell. All you have to do to get it is own Morrowind, then log into the game before the end of the 26th, then, on the 28th, you’ll get your mount.

Finally, there’s a very special offer for you in the Crown store, mainly, the Black Fredas Special Bundle! This bundle is noted to have 8100 Crowns worth of stuff, and you’re paying a fraction of that to get it in 1900 Crowns.

So, what’s in it? Lessons, scrolls, gems, potions, and… a Tuxedo Bear Mount…I kid you not.

But again, these sales and deals are only available for a limited time! So, don’t waste it, and be sure to enjoy the spoils of this holiday season.

Stratotainment Initiating Gamma Protocol

Austin, TX, Stratotainment announced today the public Alpha test for its first game, Gamma Protocol™, will commence November 27, raging through December 4, 5pm CET. Registration for avid turn-based strategy fans begins today and is accessible until November 27, and players will have access to never-before seen units and features, as revealed in a brand new teaser trailer also released today. Gamma Protocol™ is scheduled for release Q2 2018 on PC and Mac.
Gamma Protocol™ is a tactical turn-based strategy game set in an alternative historical timeline that begins in 1946. World War II is over, the United Nations set up to ensure that the world never again falls into a global conflict, but within months of its formation, the world is plunged into a war that threatens the extinction of the human race. Every nation, old friends and enemies, must stand up and unite against an alien invader intent on total annihilation.

Features include:
  • Turn based gameplay that puts you in full control - finally, a WW2 strategy game that doesn’t expect you to be king of the twitch gamers. A game that puts the tactical strategists in the driving seat. Rambo can stay at home, this is a fight for all the deep-thinking generals out there.
  • Revolutionary physics unlike anything ever seen in turn based games before, simulating the physical properties of all vehicles allowing for realistic effects based on their mass, inertia, speed and acceleration. Ground conditions, vehicles types, elevation - everything is governed by realistic physics.
  • Player friendly game modes - PvP and PvE turn times can be set to anything from minutes to days. Take your time, think your next move through. Gamma Protocol allows you to interrupt gameplay at any moment. Got a family? Friends? A significant other? Gamma Protocol’s turn times mean you don’t have to put your life on hold to play, the game will wait for you to return when you’re ready.
  • Free (as in beer) version comes with complete PvP and PvE access. No fixed play time - once you’ve downloaded it, Gamma Protocol is yours forever. Premium version includes the full campaign mode with a deep storyline that unfolds across the entire world, as well as Ranked Battles where your achievements land you on the leaderboards. Only the best will reach the top. And only the greats will stay there.
  • Gamma Protocol adds a new dimension to community involvement, calling on model builders to send in their own customized mode designs for inclusion in the game. Build a Sherman tank with an alternative gun turret, add alien tech, develop realistic vehicles and see them in game. Community led gaming.
  • Gamma Protocol’s Integrated Land Air Sea command system (I-LAS) lets players engage the enemy on land, sea and air, bringing each different vehicle set into the same battle while fighting on their own respective terrains. Aircraft can attack ground forces, diving out of their dog fights to spray tanks with cannons and escorting bombers to their ground targets, gun placements can engage planes with flak and AA, naval craft can attack ground troops with shore bombardments or defend against aerial assaults with mounted AA guns -  war is complex and multifaceted, as are the battles in Gamma Protocol.
  • I-LAS puts an end to protracted turn-based waiting times letting each player make their moves in one space while their opponent is working in another. In quick turn PvP matches, there will always be something for each player to do, always a space in which to coordinate attacks and counter-attacks.
  • Every vehicle in Gamma Protocol is true to its real-world version. We have drawn upon an International vehicle pool from the WW2 era and post war prototypes, including instantly recognizable vehicles such as Messerschmitts, Spitfires, Panzers, Shermans, Torpedo boats, U-boats and Battleships*. (*Naval vessels coming in 2018)
  • Great care and attention has been paid to recreating landscapes from the period, with battlemaps being true to their real-world locations as they were in the 1940s.
  • Dynamic campaign mode follows a deep narrative as the alien invasion spreads across the globe and the armies of the world are drawn into a deadly fight for the survival of the human race. The main story arc is littered with complex, difficult side missions that will test even the most seasoned wargame tacticians.
  • Play live, synchronous matches or in deferred, asynchronous mode. Deferred mode allows you to play up to 12 matches against multiple opponents over multiple time frame turns - anything from half an hour per turn to 5 days.
  • Review past turns with Gamma Protocol’s extensive replay feature. See where you went wrong, analyze the enemy’s tactics, pick through the bones of each and every turn and fine tune your strategies.
Stratotainment CEO, Thomas Hertzler, said “Our earlier closed alpha gave us enough feedback to recognize we needed to make some adjustments to make Gamma Protocol truly a game that is the first of its kind. We’ve broken traditional barriers by integrating land, air and sea battles into gameplay, and are expecting to receive positive feedback from the discerning turn-based players during this phase”.
