Sid Meier' Civilization IP has been recreated as sandbox MMORPG Civilization Online, where players play as individual soldier, builder, farmer and other roles that they won't be able to play in other Civilization games. Thousands of players in the same civilization work together to push their technology forward and conquer other civilizations. Therefore you can see the large-scale modern warfare between two civilizations.

In ancient age, you conquer other civilization with these weapons

In modern age you fight a war like this

Apparently the two warring civilization shown in the video have entered industrial age and they fight a war with tanks, turrets, anti-tank mines, rocket launchers, and other vehicles. In addition to various types of vehicles, you can find different player roles in the video such as engineer, medic, rifleman, and others.

Watch 2 modern vehicle combat gameplay videos below.

Recently, it seemed that Google Play Store and Apple App Store were occupied by two well-acclaimed mobile games, HIT and IDEA.

On November 19th, HIT topped the selling charts of Google Play Store‎. Actually, it only took 3 days for this game to top two open markets so that IDEA, which has already occupied the two open markets for 6 days, was pushed aside on the charts.

The PK between HIT and IDEA has attracted industry insiders' attention before they are launched. Two game are the same mid-core PRG and the main target audience are overlapped. HIT is produced by Park Yonghyon PD who is famous for TERA, Lineage 2. IDEA is NetmarblePark's first mobile RPG. Their publisher is also an overarching concern for the public. Netmarble has published Seven Knights, Raven and other 8 games before IDEA. NEXON published various gernes of games. The battle between this two games is continue. Let's wait and see which will be an evergreen title.

Star Citizen
is trying to redefine the space sim genre by offering realistic and detailed space experience. The developer surprises one more time with the ship maintenance feature. Other than a simple mouse click, ship repair is almost a mini-game includes several processes and requires some skills.

There are 2 roles involved in ship repair: the Repair Arm Operator and the Repair Task Manager.
The Repair Arm Operator is responsible for the control of the robotic repair arm. Mounted with a multi-purpose laser and material injector system, the repair arm is capable of carrying out all manner of repair tasks. The repair arm is the only player controlled method of fully restoring a ship to 100% health but requires skill, knowledge and coordination with the Repair Task Manager to do so effectively.

The Repair Task Manager relays detailed damage information to the Repair Arm Operator, designates repair tasks to be undertaken and is responsible for the allocation of materials to satisfy part reconstruction requirements.

Gameplay of both roles will surprise even the most hardcore players. You can learn how exactly the two roles play like at the blog article.

It is a common sense when the sequel comes out, the original will gradually fade out from our memory. According to a post on reddit.com, recently some players recall Twelvesky(Official Site: https://ts1.anrinch.com/), because they thought Twelvesky is better than 12Sky2 and has awesome pvp and pvm. Anrinch Entertainment took the publishing right to publish this game again. Currently, there are only around 500 players.

"Twelvesky" expands the service area all over the world with good game quality, it was exported to Japan in the late 2006, Taiwan on April 2007 and North America on May 2007.

Most important feature of "Twevesky" is the endless massive battle system which was designed for massive PvP system. So the player can enjoy the dog-eat-dog battle between 3 races for 24 hour at any time they want. Also the game system is well built concerned with oriental fantasy world such like the speedy level-up, fast moving of character more than 3~5 times than other game and various skill system and there are extra interesting factors for adult such like hardgore, strip and gambling system.

Face-Off: Mabinogi Duel VS Hearthstone

Nexon Korea, today announced its strategic mobile trading card game (TCG), Mabinogi Duel, which is now available on iOS and Android devices in 153 countries, including the US. In Mabinogi Duel, player go head-to-head in a card-based battle game which comes to life with the stunning visuals and abundance of tactics available at their disposal. Check out the official launch trailer below.

Download:

As two famous TCG, Mabinogi Duel always be compared with Hearthstone. Since Mabinogi Duel finally launched in Europe and America this time, the competition with Hearthstone is unavoidable. So which one do you prefer?

Aesthetic of Characters

Both characters in two games have its own origin. Mabinogi Duel is based on the same fantasy world as its MMO Mabinogi. So you can expect it to be filled with that game's cast of elves, goblins, warriors, and witches.

In Hearthstone, each single card is drawn by the talented artist. While from the screenshots and trailers, Mabinogi Duel leaves me the impression of stunning darkess and for the element of "skull" and "graveyard" in the game.

Decks

In Hearthstone, players have 30 cards, sometimes are well-organized decks sometimes not. Cards belong to ten races, namely, Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior and Any (Neutral). Cards titled Any can be used for any character. And cards also have different effects such as Charge, Taunt, Stealth, Battlecry, Windfury, Enrage and so on. And according to its color, cards can be divided into Ordinary in white, Rare in blue, Epic in purple, Legend in orange.

While in combat of Mabinogi Duel, players need to by costing “resources” to use cards. The “resources” are divided into five categories such as darkness, light, magic, nature and gold. Each card needs different kind and numbers of “resources”. Compared to Hearthstone, player owns 12 cards at the beginning and couldn't discard them in Mabinogi Duel.

Compared to 12 cards, 30 cards in Hearthstone are more strategic and changeful. But cards in Mabinogi Duel can level-up, making it more depth and complex.

Core Gameplay

Unlike Hearthstone, Mabinogi Duel has no card drawing which makes the game focuses more on the strategy part instead of the luck factor. The game has a more complicated resource system compared to Hearthstone, along with the card leveling in each game. Mabinogi Duel is trading card game, which allows you to exchange cards with other players.

Even Dong-Gun Kim, the director of developer devCAT, compared the game to Hearthstone. There's certainly a few obvious similarities between the two titles.

A more specific one is found in the fact that in both Hearthstone and Mabinogi Duel there are no draw matches. Either there's a winner and a loser, or two losers.

No matter which game is your favorite, I do believe with the upcoming updates and more modes, these two titles will bring us more surprises.

Deck Spotlight - *LoE* Reno Handlock by Strifecro

Reno Jackson has already started to reshape the Hearthstone meta game all on his own. He has the strongest heal in the game, but it comes with an awfully big condition. You can't have any duplicate cards in your deck if you want his effect to trigger, meaning all new deck types including 30 unique cards have arrived.

The Reno Handlock as designed by professional player Strifecro is one such deck. Some of it will look familiar to Handlock players, but it includes 30 different cards in total, so there are a few unusual additions. I break down the details of the Reno Handlock in the video below, and then have a bit of a mental breakdown while trying to play it successfully on the ranked ladder.

Now that you've seen how the deck is played, here's a convenient (and incredibly long) deck list to help you build it for yourself in the game.

One thing's for sure, this looks like no other decklist I've ever seen. I didn't have much success with the deck, but I'm stringing it up to bad luck. Despite my breakdown, I can still see why it's a strong list that'll be a great fit for the current meta. Not to mention it's tons of fun anyway!

Cho'Gall First Impressions - Abilities, Talents, and Strategy

Cho'Gall is the craziest thing that's ever happened to a MOBA! Two players control a single character, and it's somehow even more chaotic than it sounds. That means there's a lot to learn about the new hero, because he's actually two heroes in one!

In the video below, I take my first look at both Cho and Gall, giving you the scoop on their abilities, talents, mechanics, and general strategy. You'll feel right at home with both sides of this ogre duo in no time.

I'll admit that Cho'Gall probably won't be a particularly strong hero when it comes to competitive or high-level play, but who cares! He's absurd, and amazing, and entertaining in every single way. He also brings people together, and that alone is reason enough to play him.

The Paladins closed beta started this week, and I already took a detailed first-look at the game. I've been enjoying every second in the world of Paladins so far, and I'd love more players to give it a try.

If you've been rejected from the Overwatch beta, but still itch to play an objective-based team shooter, sign up for a beta key or purchase a Founder's Pack at Paladins.com. In the meantime, get to know the game with my video below. I cover all the basic stuff you'll need to know, and take you through a full game to see it all in action.

Paladins is already picking up steam, and should continue to grow and thrive thanks to its quick and rewarding gameplay, unique card system, and dedicated developers. I can't really explain why, but I'm quickly becoming addicted to this game, and I have a sneaking suspicion you might too!

Black Desert Online Community Q&A Reveals More Details on Closed Beta and Server

$
0
0

Belsazar, the Project Management at Daum, has recently answered a part of Black Desert community's 500 submitted questions on the official forums. Since there are tons of repetitive questions, Belsazar has taken on everything including mega-servers, service area, pre-order packages and more.

As for questions regarding Cash Shop, In-Game Economy, Pay-to-Win, PvP [PK, Flagging] and In-Game features, Belsazar is not yet able to share details as this is still work in progress. For the full Q&A, you can check out on Black Desert Online official forum.

Territory

Our official statement towards our service area has been announced here
Pearl Abyss has released an official statement here, that covers all territories that are currently not serviced by any dedicated publisher.
We are truly sorry that we can't service anyone that is not covered within our territory license agreement.

Vigor System

The feedback about the vigor system was forwarded to the developers. We are still in discussion in how far we can adjust the vigor system for our service. Many features such as the vigor system too, are interconnected with other features in the game, so it takes time to find a solution to work around certain issues that may come up due to adjusting one piece in the bigger picture.

In short: This is work in progress.

Mega Server

Many questions resolved around the issue that the Russian service was facing in regards of lag occurring due to the setup of a 'mega server'. Our team, as well as devs are aware of this issue and we will address it accordingly to provide a proper performance, especially during Node Wars and other events that may lead to lag.

In short: Mega server is not planned for our service.

Pre-Order Packages

  • About preorder packages. Is DAUM planning on changing the preorder packages in any way? Most highest tier packages include 3/4th of it's value in cash (e.g. Blade and Soul with 90$ worth of NCcoins in a 125$ package)
    • The pre-order packages will remain as-is. Tier 3 will be dropped after launch. Tier 1 and 2 will be reduced in content as given in the pre-order section.
The value in our package is provided through valuable items rather than providing direct cash. And please keep in mind that you can utilze NCcoins in multiple games, this doesn't apply to us. So the purpose of adding a higher value is different.

  • Can the Character Name Reservations (from Pre-Order Packs) be saved for future classes (I don't have any class I really want to play currently available)?
    • It is planned to make the reservation without any time limit.

  • Can you use preorder pet to breed new pets?
    • Yes you can. It will be a regular pet just like any other.

  • Could we please be given a heads-up to when we can reserve our Family/character names, and not have it just randomly be out of no where? So we can properly prepare time wise. Especially since your headquarters are in EU, not fair to the NA people who are at work and school, and vice versa. Would be much appreciated since it's one of the main reasons people pre-ordered.
    • Yes, we are planning to pre-announce it so that everyone can prepare accordingly. At this stage we are considering roughly 1~2 weeks of early heads-up. Same goes about the whole claiming process for all pre-order package items.

  • Do you have to claim all items on your first created Character? or can you claim from many?  For Example, Can i make 4 characters and use reserved name for Witch, Costume on Warrior, Horse whistle on Ranger, and Appearance change coupon on Valk?
    • Please check our FAQ below our pre-order packages.

  •  I would like to know if a person's progress gained via guest pass can be transferred. For example, if I buy Pro-Order and give guest pass access to my friends, then they decide to buy their membership, will their progress be wiped or can it be transferred to their new account?
    • Using a guest pass will require the creation of an account. If that guest uses the same account for purchasing the game, he will keep his progress. However, if we end up with too many unused guest accounts remaining unused after X months, we may consider to release an announcement that we will wipe those guest accounts. But this is connected to a big IF and will be announced to everyone affected on all our channels!

  • If i have preorder items but i want to give them to another character in the future, a blader that will be added after the release, will be able to do it?
    • You can claim the items anytime with any character. However, weapon and costume in Tier 2 and 3 will be only available for Warrior, Sorceress, Ranger, Berserker, Wizard/Witch and Valkyrie.

  • Is preorder horses either female or male or just all same gender?
  • Is the horses in the pre-order package random colors?
  • Will all the preorder horses look the same? Or can they have a random look (of the same tier)?
    • As given in the description at the pre-order package. It is a 'stallion', hence a male horse in the coloring as displayed in the picture preview.

  • Please show us what the preorder exclusive costumes look like for all classes? And is it for just one character or for all characters in the account. Also will it be available for classes that haven't been released yet, such as tamer?
    • The costumes can be found in our FAQ at the pre-order page. The costumes will only be available for the characters that are currently announced on our website.

  • There are a lot of limited items in the pre-purchase, but a lot of players plan to have an Asian class as there main class, will anything be done to take these people into consideration?
    • Name reservation won't have any time constraints. Unique costume and weapon skin will be only available, as announced, for characters available at the official launch.

  • When will the people playing a Valk, witch or wizard get to see what the exclusive costume for them is? Please post a picture asap!!!
    • As soon as developers have finalized the design. The costume has never been adapted for those classes, so they are in the process of preparing them.

  • Will I be able to redeem the pre-order bonuses for at least 1 character for each server? For example, in the Explorer's Package, Will I be able to redeem a tier 3 horse or a horse whistle for 1 Character on the NA server, and 1 Character on the EU server? I'm asking because in the community I want to join, not everyone is still sure about whether they'll play on EU or NA, and I wouldn't want to be "stuck" to a server because of not being able to redeem the pre-order bonuses on at least 1 character per server.
  • Will items from Pre Orders packages be Account bound or we will get costume+ horse e.t.c for each one character we create?
    • This is clarified in the FAQ at our pre-order page
Cash Shop, In-Game Economy, Pay-to-Win, PvP [PK, Flagging], In-Game features

There were many questions regarding those issues above, unfortunately we are not yet able to share details as this is still work in progress.

Our focus will be on vanity items and a few convenience items that will give you a minor advantage in matters of convenience, such as inventory slots and alike. Items such as the "Shout to Augsburg", an item that was included as bonus in some cash shop packages, has been removed for our service. (This item could be used to increase your chances in succeeding your upgrade attempts of equipment)

Once we have finalized internally our final cash shop setup, we will share the details in our forum. So please be patient in that regards

All questions regarding economy and PvP need to remain unanswered in this stage, as we are still tweaking and adjusting on all ends.

Inquiries about new in-game features and/or about adjusting existing ones can't be answered right now, as it will require a direct feedback from developers. We will consider the next interview (after CBT 1) to be with the developers directly [to be confirmed].

CBT 1 related

  • Will walk toggle be implemented into the game?
    • The walking feature as requested by our service has been recently re-implemented in the Korean service. So we are awaiting the same feature for our internal CBT 1.

  • Can we expect to see changes (based on feedbacks) in CBT1?
    • Yes, there will be plenty of changes being adapted from your feedback. We already received the first CBT1 build which includes couple of changes. However, more detailed changes in regards of technical specs always takes more time, so the more work the change requires, the longer it takes naturally to implement it as such. We're getting there.
We will reveal more details about the applied changes based on your feedback soon.

  • The Name reservations gonna be for CBT's or full released Game ?
    • All benefits, except the actuall access to the CBTs, will be only available at launch.

  • Any info on CBT Dates (1&2)?
  • What is the timeframe for CBT1 - CBT 2, and release.
    • CBT 1 is planned for December. CBT 2 and Launch depends heavily of the process of the localization. 2.800.000 words in 3 languages, more than 1.000 characters to be voiced. It takes time, but both, CBT 2 and Launch will be available in Q1 2016.
CBT 1 is planned to be from Thursday 7 a.m. UTC to Monday 8 a.m. UTC; non stop. CBT 2 details will be revealed later, but most likely follow the CBT 1 schedule.

  • How do we sign up for CBT 1 and 2 beta when its announce and where? Will website have sign-up for beta?
    • Details about the process will be revealed towards end of November. Those who purchased the "Conqueror's Package" will have access automatically. Everyone else has the chance to register with their email or to grab a key from social media pages and other sources.

  • Will the client be available to download, days before the CBT1? (to avoid low download speeds from the hundreds of players downloading at the same time, and also, so we don't have to wait for download and go right into the game)
    • Download speed will be increased from the alpha stage. Also we will offer the download roughly 3 days in advance prior to CBT 1 start. Offering it earlier doesn't make much sense as there may be additional patches applied from developer's side and then require another update at your end, which we would like to prevent. So our goal is to offer the final CBT 1 build once the download page is up.

  • Many players think that pets and dyes should be available in game too, to some extent (e.g. getting just 1 tier 1 pet from quest line like in CBT1 KR; to be able to craft dyes). Are there any chances of this happening?
    • Happening? No. Being considered? Yes. Developers for example are currently looking into the dye system, as we have requested to apply some changes there. But details are still too vague to be shared at this stage. Pets via quests or even events is very likely to happen, but I don't want to make empty promises, so we'll have to see about this at a later stage.

  • Will  we be testing Node/Castle Sieges during CBT1 or 2, to see if Channels can handle them?
    • Siege war will not be available at launch, but will be released with a delay to give everyone the chance to prepare their character, get famliarized with the game and understand the game's core. Schedule for sieges is not set yet.
Node Wars will be discussed to be tested in one of the CBTs, presumably in CBT 2, as there will be more players. This is not confirmed yet.

  • Will you guys release info on the cash shop content before CBT2 and info about how the content will work (account bounded on purchase or not)?
    • We are planning to release details about our cash shop and pricing model towards launch, which is close to the CBT 2 stage. However, we can't disclose details yet, because it is not finalized yet. But the tendency is that items are reduced in their prices compared to the Korean service.

  • When CBT 1 and 2 comes out will we be allow to stream/screenshot/record?
    • Yes this is allowed. Please refer to the Terms of Service (aka Terms of Use) for details.

  • Will be there a Character Wipe in CBT1 and CBT2 ?
    • Yes, simply because of the headstart feature that is being offered in the pre-order packages.

  • Will you go through all change and final form of important subjects past the CBT stages to inform the community?
    • Yes, we are doing our best to be as transparent as possible. We are still building up our team to cover more ground. This interview is way to cover more ground within short time. We are also planning on releasing a PM Diary which is supposed to inform everyone about the ongoing discussions and possible changes being discussed with the developers.

  • Will we have another Q&A after  CBT 1? because most of the people who are asking question are either people who played alpha or different region version.
    • Yes, we can do that. If I forget to do it, please 'kindly' remind me

  • Can it be assumed that before CBT 1 or when CBT1 occurs that we will get a list of the changes from Alpha to the CBT build?
    • Yes, we will publish detailed patchnotes/changelogs.

Order & Chaos 2: Redemption Review

Gameloft, for better or worse, has the habit of producing camouflaged copies of titles from the traditional gaming scene for the mobile platform. If the practice denotes a certain lack of creativity, the fact remains that the firm delivers unopposed titles of rare quality, and without a doubt contribute to the popularity of this platform. In 2011, it was with an innocent enthusiasm that Gameloft attacked a mastodon of the MMO world: World of Warcraft. And the worst is that it went beyond all expectations. Order & Chaos Online, as they titled it, had not only seduced a large amount of players around the world, easily reaching millions of installs, but was also able to find favor with the critics. And today, Gameloft once again offers a rather pleasing experience with Order and Chaos 2: Redemption.

Simple Beginnings
If you've played the first Order & Chaos, you will be far from being disoriented. Overall, this second episode wisely reuses its older mechanical. But in case this will be your first step in the Order & Chaos universe, Gameloft does things properly by offering a tutorial that will teach you everything you need to know before starting. They may seem trivial, but these small tutorial missions will introduce you not only to the main commands and features of the game, but also takes the luxury of introducing you to the game world, and some of the events of the previous title in a very natural way. A good point that shows the expertise of Gameloft. Once you complete this small introductory tutorial, serious things can finally begin.

As was the case with the first episode, Gameloft delivers perfect example of the classic MMO. After the introductory sequence, and the choice of a server, it will take a few minutes to create an avatar among the proposed five races; Humans, Elves, Orcs Mendels, and the newcomers, Kratans. Then comes the time to choose a class, again with a little novelty. In addition to the Warriors, Rangers, Monks and Priests, it is possible to embody a Blood Knight, similar to the Dark Knight from Final Fantasy, using your blood and power of demons to launch powerful attacks. After a quick trip to the character customization screen, which turns out quite limited, your adventure can finally start. With your new avatar, now in your control, you can discover, or rediscover, the world of Order & Chaos.

Once again, Gameloft does things properly by offering a relatively calm and well thought out beginning. The first quests are linked to perfection to introduce the outline of the gameplay. From the first minutes, as you go up in levels, you learn to use the resources at your disposal, to craft, or evolve our character. A gentle enough progress curve so that you are not lost once confronted to the vast world proposed by this title. Between the control panel in the purest tradition of the Action-RPG, gauges of skill cooldowns, various icons and other virtual controls, navigating for the different options of the game can prove rather difficult. And the ergonomics of the different menus does nothing to help, to the contrary. While this might please veterans of Order & Chaos Online, newcomers will have a slightly harder time getting used to it.

Gathering Herbs, A Crucial Step to Saving The World
Like any good self-respecting MMORPG, Order & Chaos 2: Redemption will take us up hill and down dale to achieve plethora of quests. Some will advance the overall plot of the story and others will just take the role of fillers, to obtain EXP and other loot. The latter will form the majority of the playing time, proving that it is hard to escape the quintessential MMO quests. Once again, you will have to kill X monsters in the specified area, gather Y amounts of herbs and fruits and bring them to an NPC, and so on. Something relatively new will be the presence of fast quests that trigger on the fly. You walk quietly, find an item or kill a monster in passing and you are informed that you are participating in a quest. A good way to break the routine during exploration phases.

Ups And Downs Of The Gameplay
And of course, by completing quests you will be reward with experience points that allow you to level up and grow stronger by unlocking new skills. Again in a conventional manner, they are unlocked and upgraded according to the level reached and offer powerful attacks. Nevertheless, this second episode seems a bit on the low side compared to its predecessor, offering a limited range of passive and active skills. Having to wait a certain level to unlock a skill, combined with their small number, gives off the feeling that you have no choice when it comes to character building, at least in the first few hours. Because the game does not reveal its full potential before the many hours of grind required for the accession of the highest levels. A dynamic that is found  with the play modes as well since the best dungeons and PvP elements are only unlocked after your character has had a decent progress, something rather common with free to play titles.

Gameplay-wise, the right side of the screen is dedicated to the management of the camera as well as the use of skills with a few virtual keys, while its counterpart is used for movements, either via a virtual stick or touch and go. Nothing too complicated with this system, which nonetheless gives rise to small failures in combat. The fault goes to a camera that sometimes lags behind, and the relative inaccuracy of the virtual stick.

The Joys Of Free To Play
Which brings us to the sore subject. Because yes, contrary to Order & Chaos that proposed a subscription system, Order & Chaos 2: Redemption for its part is a free to play in the form purest. To the program, limited energy system for some dungeons, premium currency system to buy the best content of the game, limited inventory to be expanded, daily rewards and a strong tendency to lean towards the dreaded Pay to Win. In this case, it will be mostly a matter of Pay to Progress Faster. Those willing to use their credit card, as is often the case, will have an advantage. Nevertheless, if you're a regular MMO player, spending long hours in the grinding for XP or loot and catching up to those paying players should not pose any problem. Especially since the exploration part is playable without limitation. Moreover, with crafts, it is always possible obtain the same items quality as what freemium players can easily obtain, again by investing more of your time.

Conclusion
With this second episode of Order & Chaos, Gameloft continues its momentum by proposing an ambitious title and that is perfectly controlled. Despite the artistic direction already seen a thousand times, this new episode offers a great experience with undoubtedly good graphics, full of vibrant colors pleasantly flattered the retina and fluidity foolproof. And while certain features fall flat compared to its predecessor, it remains an excellent game that truly shines after having invested much time into character progression. For the rest, hard to blame much to Gameloft. If the user interface and controls may have some issues, the same could be said about most other titles on the mobile platform. Regardless, like any good self-respecting MMO, it is in the long term that Order & Chaos 2: Redemption should be judged. It will be up to Gameloft to regularly offer fixes, new content and special events to renew the interest for the title and prevent a negative routine from setting in.
