This Official Blade & Soul Live Action Film Has Some Weird Visual Effects

At the beginning of June, rumor suggested that Garena will publish Blade & Soul in Vietnam. The rumor proved to be right, and the consumer internet platform provider based in Singapore started to work hard on it. The game's Closed Beta ended today, and the Open Beta was scheduled to start on September 2.

To market the game in Southeast Asian market, Garena has made a 12-minute live action film titled Blade & Soul: Mission Selected. Directed by Ham Tran, the short film features some popular Vietnamese actors and actress like Johnny Trí Nguyễn as the
Martial Arts Master, Ngô Thanh Vân as the Assassin, Soobin Hoàng Sơn as the Master, Bảo Anh as the Master. But for people who have seen a lot of high quality live action movies for video games, this one is just weird in terms of the visual effects. See it for yourself.

Star Citizen's New Real-Time Face-to-Face Chat Will Be Cool and Creepy

At Gamescom 2017, Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games announced to partner with Faceware Technologies to implement Face Over Internet Protocol (FOIP) to the game. The technology tracks your facial expressions and movement for real-time, player-driven facial animations.

With FOIP you will be able to chat with your friends and other players like face-to-face and express yourself in a more realistic and fun way. And it could also be used to make creepy facial expressions if you want to, just like Peter Busch, VP of business development at Faceware Technologies said, "I can’t wait to see the reaction of Star Citizen fans as they chat, in-game, about their next mission, their ships, or what they had for breakfast."

Using Faceware's soon-to-be-released facial motion sensor, this new feature enables Cloud Imperium and any Star Citizen to detect hundreds of facial movements in a variety of lighting conditions. Those movements are then instantly streamed onto the character's face, in-game, a critical element in creating believable digital faces. The feature can also be used with the computer's built-in webcam, though the quality of facial detection may vary.

Destiny 2: Expectations and Decisions.

$

First, let's start off by saying the truth: I haven't played Destiny at all. I'm a PC gamer, not a console one, but that doesn't mean I had not had the thought, like an starving man, of playing Destiny.

Even so, I have played other RPG based shooter games, like Borderlands... which is why I can relate to that wish of playing a story rich game with a gun on my hands. So, when I found out Destiny 2 would come out for the PC platform... I knew what I had to do.

Take some time off. Forget about friends, girls, family, pants and decency. Then get some real nice drinks for the run...

BECAUSE TOMORROW, I HUNT. (I wrote this on August 28).

But that's not why you all are here. No, you want to know what you can expect to see in Destiny 2. Of course, I'm not going to say what's already in the official site. No. What you are going to read is what I have compiled from reddit and forums, from Destiny players and new ones.

Which bring us to the First (And maybe only) BIG BAD QUESTION: Will it be worthy?

Most of Destiny players are on the fence with this one. The first game had one important flaw: it was too repetitive. In order to level up, you had to do the same missions over and over again (of course, they were "different" yet all of them followed the same patterns). The developers tried to solve the issue by adding content in further expansions, but never truly fixed it.

So, how can you answer this question?

Well, as a matter of fact, you can't. Nothing is quite decided until you see the real product for yourself... yet things do look promising. Most of the information going around is from the first sector of the game: the EDZ (European Dead Zone) on Earth.

It seems that one of the few things Destiny had from the start that was relatively not repetitive were the so called "Public Events"... the bad part is that you never knew where or when you'd find them, which also carried another issue: You'd be alone most of the time, and unless you were a movie protagonist... all your efforts would not be enough to complete them.

However, in Destiny 2 there are various open world activities where "Public Events" take a major role. You'll be able to track them down in the world map, from place to time, which also increases the chance of being there with other players. Moreover, there are various Side missions that will most probably pass through said Public Events, enriching the experience of actually walking The ravaged Earth.

It seems, also, that these side mission (called Adventures) are a fully remastered  version of the "Patrol missions" that were on the previous Destiny. No longer just the same patterns over and over again, but challenging puzzles, short dungeons and the like which serve also as a way for the writers to unveil some more of the game's backstory and lore, as they are fully voiced.

Plus, all of them give a nice quantity of loot and rewards, of course.

There are also the so called "Lost Sectors", which I can't give a full opinion as of now. All I know is that they are really short, not a full named "dungeon".

In summary, I can see Destiny 2's open world experience similar to GuildWars 2's. Which in my opinion is not a bad thing to be compared to.

So yeah, I can't answer you as of now if the game will be worth the 60 bucks... but don't worry, we PC lords will get an open beta from 29 to 31 of August, which will give us an idea. And for those of you who are not able to play it, I'll write a review with some gameplay.

Anyway, Destiny 2 is sure to rise a lot of expectation, yet I encourage you guys to not let the hype get to you. I've seen too many "hype trains" crash at the first station... and I was in some of them.

Guns Royale is a Mobile PUGB Which You Can Play in Augmented Reality

With the huge success of Bluehole’s PC game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, more and more imitation games are coming out, and in our previous articles, we reported two PUGB-style game modes in Tencent and NetEase popular games Cross Fire Mobile and Terminator 2 Mobile respectively. Today we are going to introduce another PUGB-like game which not only has battle-royale gameplay, but also allows you to play Augmented Reality.

Guns Royale: Blocky Battlegrounds is a top-down mobile FPS featuring pixel style characters and environment. Your purpose in the game is to kill everyone else in a battle-royale style gun fight. The AR video below shows the game being played on an actual table, and we are looking forward to seeing what the new iPhone 8 (or iPhone Pro) and Apple's ARKit can do in the upcoming future.

Hyper Universe Early Access First Impressions: Is It Worth Your Time?

$

Recently released into Steam’s Early Access program, Hyper Universe is Nexon’s latest novelty which challenges the traditional styles of the MOBA genre. Here, Nexon offers a clever mix between MOBA and the fighting/platform genre (that won’t be without reminding some of titles like Brawlout, Brawlhala or even Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo enthusiasts) in an isometric view. Visually it looks like a normal 2D fighting game, with the exception that players evolve with and against others in a number of horizontal “lanes”, essential to the MOBA spirit.

The goal is of course to destroy the enemy’s turrets with the help of your characters, here called Hypers. The characters are broken down into 6 classes: Tank, Bruiser, Specialist, Striker, Support and Assassin. There is something for everyone and Hyper Universe offers a variety of wacky characters in a frenzied universe.

So yes, despite its looks, Hyper Universe is a MOBA that has the particularity of benefiting from multidirectional 2D scrolling (you can move to the left or to the right to explore lane, or up or down to move to a different one). It borrows most of its game mechanics from the basic MOBA model. Each side of the map opposes two teams (red and blue), consisting here of four heroes each, aiming to destroy the enemy’s base. To pierce the enemy defenses, consisting of several turrets punctuating the different possible paths towards the opposite base, each team can count on the support of minions that automatically spawn and run towards specific towers in successive waves. They also protect you by absorbing the attacks of towers while you damage them, and it is generally not recommended to push without (unless you’re confident you can destroy the tower somewhat fast).

But be warned that the opposing Hypers will not let you do so unbothered. You will always have to be prepared to defend yourself from ambushes and sudden assaults. Moreover, killing enemy minions awards you gold than can then be used to buy and upgrade equipment that you have in your preselected set.

Like any good MOBA, Hyper Universe offers you the choice between several very specific heroes, with a total of 28 that seem to be properly balanced, at least from my experience with them. Jack is a versatile Hyper that can both tank and chase enemies, but is somewhat lacking when it comes to skill power, and depends on his basic attack to deal damage. Valter’s health and defense make him a great asset on the frontlines. Don’t judge Louis by his appearance, his power along with his high mobility make are what owe him his place under the Assassin class. Each hyper has a series of skills that you will have to master to get the most out of them, along with Ultimates that are specific to their character. While there does seem to be a rotation system for Hypers, I've been able to use them all so far (most likely due to the Early Access nature).

Being in Early Access, however, the content available is still somewhat limited, with a single map, as well as a single mode (divided into Regular, AI, Custom and training matches) being available currently. Regardless, the game does include some interesting content, with my favorite being the STORY one where you received various rewards for playing with the different Hypers available, or even reaching certain objectives/achievements.

Conclusion

Hyper Universe is definitely one of my most interesting experience with the MOBA genre, along with the equally excellent MxM. While easy to handle, the game offers several control modes and perfectly recognizes the Xbox 360 pad, the game is paradoxically arduous to master. If the lack of content is something that will put you off, I would greatly recommend that you keep an eye out for future updates to give Nexon’s MOBA a try.

When you win in Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, you will see the message: "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner", a slang in Depression means you win the craps and can afford chicken for dinner. When PUBG took the market by storm, eating chicken also became the representative of the game in China.

On Qixi Festival (the Chinese Valentine’s Day), Chinese PUBG Streamer Obang, who is also a player joined Gamescom PUBG Invitational last week, received a special gift from his female fan. There are 520 chickens and a note in the package, and it says "when you eat up all chickens, I will graduate and marry you". What a romantic vow! Although 520 chickens are too much for him, he still expresses his appreciation by giving the fan administrator on his streaming room.

MU Legend Open Beta Postponed to November

Scheduled to start during the summer, MU Legend's global Open Beta was postponed by Webzen to September. Back then, Webzen mentioned that the dev team needs a bit more time to polish the game, in order to add more features than it was previously thought. Today, on game's official Facebook page, it's written "MU Legend Open Beta moved to November". Pierre Vanderbroucke, MU Legend's producer from Webzen Dublin explains why the game's OBT was once again postponed.

With the MU Legend global version, we are in the fortunate situation that our Korean version of the game is already live. This means we have had enough time to take into account  essential feedback from players of the Korean version.

Thus, our careful analysis brought us to the logical conclusion that we would need to re-arrange a few features and balances, and adjust our release roadmap.

When one user suggested: Why not open the gates of the CBT2 version and patch the content gradually?, the Webzen representative replied:

We could, but… along with the extra content, these required changes (derived from the feedback of the Korean users and the developers themselves) also impact mechanics balancing, and we do not want to simply postpone the fixing of current known issues that we are able to fix for the OBT version of the game.

I wonder if the fans hype will continue to grow in these three extra months, or Webzen's decision will prove to be a bad one.

Dauntless Developer Reveals Monetization Plans: The Game Will Not be Pay to Win

Phoenix Labs’ Monster Hunter clone game, Dauntless, has already entered alpha testing in August, and next month the game will transition into the first closed beta test. Before rolling into second beta, Jesse Houston, Co-Founder of Phoenix Labs and Executive Producer on Dauntless, took an interview by MMObomb and talked about community feedback, monetization plan and future plans of the game.

Firstly, Jesse feels really flattering to be compared to Monster Hunter, but Phoenix Labs wants to build an action-RPG that doesn’t exist yet, providing a social experience about players banding together and overcoming challenges together.

As a free-to-play, obviously players want to know about the game’s monetization plan. Jesse confirmed that the company is firmly against pay for power. The customization and cosmetics will be the main real-world currency transaction in game. Besides, there will be more armor dyes, flares, emotes and cosmetics coming out in the future.

In addition, Jesse also unveiled the future updates of the game. Firstly, The Shattered Isles is an ever-changing landscape, and what you see today will not be the same by the end of Closed Beta. During Closed Beta Phoenix will release more zones and encounters culminating into end-game encounters being available in Open Beta. Moreover, more weapons and behemoths will also be released. You can check out full interview here.

Dauntless: Expectations and Decisions

Monster Hunter. That's the first name that for most of us will come to mind when taking a look at Dauntless. For some, it may come as a "Another Monster Hunter copy", for others however, it may appear as a ray of hope for the PC platform to finally get a quality coop monster hunting game.

But there is also a third group... those who see Dauntless as an opener for the big bad boss called MH world. But let's not get to that.

So, What is Dauntless going to be?

I've always been a fan of the MH franchise. The first one I played was the Freedom Unite for the PSP, and I really enjoyed all the weapons and the Dark Souls feel it had because of how hard it was (I still remember when I first saw the Tigrex, the main monster in the game). And so far, Dauntless reminds me of that very game.

First, I got to say that I have not had the pleasure of playing it yet. No, I'll play the closed beta coming this September 1 and give you guys a personal opinion. What I'm going to tell you is the view I have so far from researching forums, reddit and twitch. A game like this caught my attention from day one... I mean, I have played other PC monster hunter games like God Eater, Toukiden, and Vindictus even. Yet all of them had this moment when you don't really care about the boss's patterns. However, it wasn't the impression Dauntless gave me when watching countless gameplays on Twitch, or when hearing the opinion of hardcore MH players.

(I gotta say that some bosses in Vindictus are really hard though.)

"I couldn't stop playing the alpha"

"You can see there are things to polish but the game is pretty solid despite of that"

"It has such a nice feel when you hit a behemoth with a charged Axe combo", etc.

I won't give you details that you could find on the official website, but I will tell you some of the things you can expect in Dauntless:

All weapons have a decent amount of combos, yet not all of them will be worth using depending on your playstyle and what you are hunting. There is also the matter of balancing: some weapons, like the hammer, have the slowest combos of them all, yet they don't do as much damage as the fastest combos of other weapons. Is just an issue of code and numbers.

However, there is also the hunting feeling. You are not a superhuman with flashy moves like a blackscreen full of japanese letters. No, you are a Behemoth hunter, a human against a beast. The beast is better than you in every physical aspect, and you'll feel it throughout the fight. Your stamina will drain fast, so you'll have to manage it and decide when to strike and when to dodge. To back away, or to escape. Your attacks have weight, which make them a double edged sword: choose your actions wisely, or you'll pay for them costly.

Because don't fool yourself, your cunning and perseverance are the only real weapons at your disposal. And your Gunhammer of course.

Now, technically speaking, there are various problems concerning the gameplay, from glitches to hitboxes... but the game is only in Alpha (and soon closed beta). Moreover, the developers are really hearing the players out, gathering and answering the feedback they receive with quite the positive attitude. I just know that the last time I saw such a good enviroment it was in the Warframe's alpha, when there was only one map and a few weapons. And now, look at the great game it has become.

Yet again, I encourage you guys not to let yourselves be carried by the hype train. Dauntless will have a real hard competitor in the future, so it's road will be full of strife. However... I did buy the founder pack for the closed beta so...
Yeah. I'll be on the train for you guys. Only for you... I don't believe myself either.

ANYWAY, if you liked what you read, please press the like button down here. If you have anything to add, information to share, or just an idea to voice out... then don't hesitate to leave a comment. I'll write a review of the closed beta in the future with some gameplay for you guys to enjoy!

PEACE.
